Starting to add notes from previous weeks. Right now I'm in week 5 flower but updating this journal as life got in the way!
Week 3 7/29 - 8/5
This week saw a lot of change. I finished the shed and moved my equipment in. There's predictions of a heatwave coming the next 2 weeks and the temp in the shed is already high 90s and super low humidity, so I bought a humidifier and a wall AC, cut a hole and framed it in. Nighttime checks showed a few light leaks that were taken care of with some spray foam in the joints. My babies also got moved into their big girl pots where they will live the remainder of their beautiful lives.
My kid and I also put in some work on the outside vegetable garden. Since the soil is full of giant rocks, I had to filter those out first. Just a small corner of the bed took a few days to prep the soil, but we finally got it ready and planted. Beans, Cucumbers, Arugula, Cilantro, Lettuce, Broccoli are all going to add some green to this part of the garden.
Bonus: My neighbor 2 doors down had a massive rare oak split in 3 straight down the trunk. Each piece landed on a roof, but just barely. Only damage was to some fences.
7/26 Day 12: Moved plants to 7 gallon fabric pots with super soil mix:
1/2 Ocean Forest, 1/4 Worm Castings, 1/4 Compost, Few handfuls of Sphagnum moss, 4-4-4 Fert w/ Myco, Water in w/ light bat guano/recharge mix
8/1 Day 18: One of the plants (#4) was a little overwatered and leaves were curling. Whatever it'll be fine.
Hey! Happy growing my friend! I hope you do well and get some good results! I will come by sometime to see your progress!
If you ever visit my page please say hello!
Peace & love L.S.T
@olli0420, thanks a ton!! I put my clones in a closet in my office. For the clones that are all rooted, I took them from2nd week o flower off new bud sites that popped up from halfway up the branches. They were completely new growth that appeared when i switched to 12 and i cut them once they were about 5-8 inches long each with some small buds forming and tons of pistils. These were all mainlines and taken from equivalent nodes so each clone has equal growth potential.
Cut just below a node, trim the node of any leaves or growth sites. Trim the tips off any leaves. Dip in rooting gel and put in a wet grodan cube. Water in with very light veg nutes (fish fert + kelp) and cover with dome. Keep at 77*/80% until you see lots of roots pop out. Could be weeks or over a month even if taken late flower. They should keep growing and get fuzzy with root branches. This is when u put them in solo cups with your soil mix. I use potting soil (ocean forest if i have on hand) compost, worm castings, perlite for this stage.
The moisture/humidity control will be key. At some point a week or two in the leaves on top will start really drying out after being depleted of their nutrients. this is when you may want to give them some more direct feeding. Until then only mist with a spray bottle. You want tht cube to start getting a little bit dry but still moist so that the roots push out and seek water. This will also cause the plant to cannibalize the leaves to feed that root growth.
This should all be just perfect as at that time, you should see the bud sites start getting really bright green and lose all their pistils. This means itsready to start pushing out new veg growth.
Ill take some pics of a few i have in diff stages of the process and put them on my diary for this week.
