Zambesa Critical XXL has been sharing a room with some distant autoflowering relatives. Started in a jiffy box and transplanted to 1L airpot in light mix. Hanging from the ceiling. It should be fun! 😊 Plain water (7.8ph 200ppm) in jiffy. Day 6: 6.4 PH water + power roots

Didn't water the plant this week. It's growing nicely. It's hanging in the corner so I rotate the pot every day to keep it from bending towards the light too much.

Hello week 3 😊 It's getting bigger. I will train it as much as I can. I plan to transplant to another pot later, after I harvest the other plants which are growing in the same room, day 2: My intention was to FIM the plant but I think I fimmed the fim and maybe topped it? 😀

Repotted into fresh soil so I gave less nutrients. Previous 2 feedings were 700ppm (200ppm tap water) Looking good! Healthy green although not visible in LED. Will try to take some good pictures later. Pretty heavy LST, trying to keep it low. Main cola was fimmed and the other big colas were topped. I hope to fill the tent with one plant

The plant is looking great! Very bushy with many tops. A rather flat canopy. Still need to do some more training to flatten things out a little more.

Too lazy to take (good) pictures. Also too lazy to train the plant so I do a bit of stem bending and twisting. Overall the plant is in great health. Nice flat canopy with lots of tops!

Happy that the plant is smelling great! My first grow had almost no smell. Seems like some slight deficiencies in some old leaves but nothing to write home about. Going back to full nutrient dose this week after repotting last week

Instead of giving nutrients I gave only water because I noticed some yellow tips on the new growth. The plant had been getting 700ppm feed(including 220ppm tap water). Nutrient buildup in soil? I made the switch to 12/12 today. Since 2 days the new growth has been looking funky - the same corkscrewy thing I had in my first grow. Overall, a lot of trimming, bending, training. It has become a cool plant in my opinion :) Info useful for my question: *6.2-6.4ph water every time *giving water when the soil is dry and lower leaves start to hang a little. but i suspect it is hard to overwater with these airpots *built up nutrients to about 720ppm until last watering

Any opinions on these funky looking / corkscrewing new top leaves? It seems to be a recurring theme in my two grows. https://www.growweedeasy.com/zinc-deficiency-cannabis Is it zinc? Thanks everyone

How's your room.on fans and exhaust lines? I know having air flowing nicely around the buds are important, but if a fan is blowing to strong or pointed at the plant it can cause almost a wind burn, which can twist and warp leaves but can make them look like a deficiency or toxicity. I see you're using LEDs and that they're less that 10in. Away, light/heat burn can not only cause the twisted growth but it can also discolor new growth as well. I hope you find a good fix. Happy growing

Looking good to me :) Not sure what to say... another week Last 2 waterings were plain tap water and then some drops of nutrient. Didn't bother to test runoff ppm, busy days unfortunately someone messed up with the electricity so the light cycle was moved from 14:00-02:00 to 18:00-06:00... hoping for no negative effects day 5: Back to nutrients

More hairs are coming. Everything looks good to me. The temperatures sure are getting high, but the plant is doing well. I'm not sure if the twisted new growth was a problem. The leaves turned out fine.

No complaints... :) I installed a webcam. Now I can learn how the plant responds. It's very interesting. I can recommend a webcam to make timelapse to everyone. I used Booru webcam software to capture pictures. This time lapse video is of week 3 into week 4. (The light never changes, but the webcam auto-adjust messes with the colors) Lots of changes daily... pics are from day 2 of this week

This plant looks so much better than my first grow autoflower. Never start with seeds from a reseller. I am still curing the widow autos. One jar smells delicious but the 2 smaller jars smell like crap. Overall I would have been much happier to grow photoperiodic plants. This plant beats my autoflower in every aspect. I slowly pushed to 1400 ppm feed until I saw some burnt tips. Easing off now to 1000ppm

Entering a new week :) Some lower leaf yellowing but overall very healthy. I wonder what to expect in terms of bud growth since this is my first time growing a regular plant. I'll have my microscope ready to check tricohomes in a few weeks Any comments or insights are always welcome Will probably post more photos later this week I'm happy with my CMH lamp. I don't want to give my plants a gimmicky light spectrum in flower

I had to install this trellis net I have... it's not the perfect size. The buds are going to get too heavy, some branches were tarting to sag. I could have maybe attached wires to the ceiling to support the stalks, but this was the easiest method. I'd have liked to put it lower but the big fan is blocking it day 6: Spider mites :( Removed about 10 leaves and killed about 5 small spiders. Confirmed they are spider mites by using the loupe. Spent an hour looking for more and guess I will be doing the same tomorrow. I've read they don't like wind so I put 2 fans on max speed blowing in from the bottom. It's disheartening to see pests so late in a grow that went so well for me. but I'll try whatever I can to keep their population down

😧 I discovered & killed some spider mites on the plant (about 4 or 5). A small number of affected leaves with white spots (no webbing) were removed. Sprayed some methylated spirit + soap water on the bottom part of the plant below buds. Any tips for bugs this late in flower?

Hi @BillMonroe! Well, since your plants are already in the flowering stage, you can't use neem oil and should avoid spraying any chemicals. However, spider mites really hate water, so if you think that mold won't be an issue (good airflow + low relative humidity) you can spray clear water when the light turns off and/or when the lights turns on. Another thing they hate is wind, so I'd recommend to use a tiny fan and create a continuous breeze onto the apical summits. These two tricks won't solve the issue for good since all the mites are not going to die, but it should prevent them from multiplying and ruining your crop. You will need a good cleaning session with a vacuum cleaner and neem oil + soap after your harvest. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

Lord have mercy on my plant 🙏 After finding some spider mites last week I have released predatory mites. Phytoseiulus persimilis. They came in a bag with leaves and you put those leaves on the canopy. Spray the room with spider mite insecticide. I found no more spider mites and no increase in damage. Until now the damage has been very minimal, compared to pictures I see online. Just a few white spots on a small number of affected leaves. Never saw any webbing, neither on leaves nor buds. Regardless I am treating it like a big infection Oh yeah, it's almost ready, I guess? All I can think about are little spiders. Thanks to everyone for watching, and your tips and advice.

Flushed, feeding plain PHd water. I think next week might be harvest time. No real update with the spider mites... I've found one dead, one alive, since last week. 20 weeks is a long time. But this plant had a slow start, hanging from the roof of the tent and getting low amounts of light. In week 5 you can see it is still very small.

==== UPDATE 31-10-18 ==== Weight after 4 weeks: 137 grams from one plant! I am so happy :). 123 grams of grade A bud, 14 grams of great quality larf. My last grow had about 130 grams from 4 plants. Only two thirds of it was good bud. Autoflowers, never again! This plant never got bigger than the 70*70 tent it grew up in, so I used 0.5m² . 315w CMH started during week 3 of flower. Thanks again to Zambeza for a monster yielding plant. ======================== It's been quite a ride. The plant was harvested at the end of week 11. This plant survived spider mites, maybe thanks to the predatory mites, and environment actions. A slow start in the first few weeks but it turned out quite beautiful. I will update with weights later... if you are interested, leave a comment and I will notify Thank you very much for following my diary, and for all the kind support and advice. The "flavor report" is based off some trim hash, which was truly an A smoke. I can't recommend Critical XXL enough! Thanks to Zambeza for this great experience. I will probably never grow autoflowers again. My next diary, flowering 100% under CMH, will start soon! 00
