DWC Purple Punch #2 - Barney’s Farm

📆 11/13 - Day #5 - Pruned the RW slab for a bit. As soon as first roots comes thru the slab I’ll transplant it into DWC netcup. - Setting up DWC reservoir (using sof tap water 0.2 EC / 125ppm * Overall growth seems a bit slower than her sister in soil (Check another GrowDiary for the soil cultivation - Purple Punch#1) 📆 11/15 - Overnight EC from 0.5 to 0.4 / 230ppm (current res)

📆 11/18 - Moved PP#2 to the main tent amongst with her sister PP#1 on soil (Check out her diary as well) - Tuned Mars Hydro TS1000 for Purple Punches. ~45cm / 20" above and dimmed to 80% - PAR map provides ~500Umol/s with that setting - Added 4ml of BioBizz Cal/Mag to the reservoir after moved her under the LED. - Humidifier set on timer to maintain stable 45-55% RH. 📆 11/19 - Sorry no pictures between days 7-10. Nothing much happened, roots have had faster growth. - Topped res with 3ml Terpinator, 1ml HydroGuard, 1.5ml Diamond Nectar & 1ml Bio Topmax pH adjusted to 5.7 — EC 1 / 530ppm 📆 11/20 - Made a new reservoir patch: - 0.4ml/l GHE Micro - 0.35ml/l GHE Bloom - 1.1ml/l Terpinator - 1.2ml/l GHE Fulvic - 0.5ml/l Hydroguard * ~1.25ml Canna’s CalMag agent for bout 100ppm bump of Ca & Mg. * Terpinator 0-0-4(K) 11ml gave a 100ppm Potassium bump. • EC: 0.6 / 340PPM • pH adjusted to 5.6 (Overnight drift to 6.3) 📆 11/22 - AC & Intake fan had caught during the night…😬 Water temp had risen up to 24.5C (76F) and tent temp were 28C at the morning. - Quickly humidified RH to +50% and lowered temps down to 23-24C — lowered res temp back to 21C (at least roots/water didn’t smell, hopefully no harm was done)

📆 11/23 - Upped EC from 0.8 to 1.1 Current reservoir contains (~) N: ~50ppm P: ~ 13ppm K: ~95ppm Ca: ~60ppm Mg: ~20ppm + beneficials and other trace elements 📆 11/25 - Topped reservoir with nutrient solution (listed on schedule) Ending EC: 1.4 / TDS: 710ppm - Slight excess Nitrogen showing at leaf tips. If clawing gets any worse then flush(Canna Flush) and res change. 📆 11/26 - Overnight 40ppm drop. Water level dropped ~0.5L - Topped with 0.75L tap water + 1.5ml Hydroguard 📆 11/27 - Overnight water level drop (0.5L) & EC rised from 1.4 to 1.5 — topped with tap water - pH stable 6-6.1 - First tiny pistil to be seen 11/27

📆 11/29 - Start of the 4th week. - Whole lot pistils sticking from nodes - preparing everything for the stretch phase soon (micros increased: Fe, Zn and Mg) - She drank almost a liter over night! - 11/28 changed reservoir water and made a new patch: * Tap water / Starting TDS 110ppm (~19ppm Ca & 2ppm Mg) * Tap water pH adjusted between 6-7 - 0.9ml/l GHE Micro - 0.66ml/l GHE Bloom - 1.1ml/l GHE Grow - 1.5ml/l Terpinator (~50ppm K bump) - 0.5ml/l Hydroguard - 1.25ml/l GHE Diamond Nectar/Fulvic - 0.25ml/l GHE Pro Organic Bloom • NPK: N: 70ppm, P: 25ppm, K: 160ppm, Ca: ~100ppm & Mg: ~35ppm • pH adjusted to 5.6 (overnight drift to 6.2) • EC: 1.4 / TDS: 722ppm 📆 12/1 - Overnight water level drop ~0.3L / EC rose from 1.4 to 1.5 — topped 0.25L pH’d water - Weird leaf twisting during the day / prays and being droopy at the same time 📆 12/3 - Significant water level drops during the night (0.4-0.7L) Past two days EC from 1.5 to 1.8 - 12/3 topped with 1L pH’d water — EC back to 1.7 (res change when it gets to 1.9) - Had some accidents today while removing LST Clips… Stems were overgrown from the clips so I managed to break at least 3 important nodes. -> Duct taped them. Hopefully recorvers fast. 📆 12/5 - Reservoir change. New reservoir mix: 0.95ml/l Micro & Bloom 1.9ml/l Grow & Terpinator * GHE & Bcuzz Silic * Pro Bloom x5 drops EC: 1.6 / TDS 810ppm pH adjusted to 5.6

📆 12/7 - Start of the 5th week! - Whole lot pistils sticking from the nodes & plant is taking noticeable grow spurts. Pre-flowering/stretch phase is about to start. - 12/5 Changed the reservoir water and made a new N&K boosted patch: - 0.95ml/l Micro & Bloom - 1.75ml/l Grow - 1.9ml/l Terpinator - 1.2ml/l Fulvic/Diamond Nectar - 0.5ml/l Hydroguard * Beneficials and some bloom boosters included — Ending EC: 1.6 / TDS: 810ppm — pH adjusted down to 5.6 (letting drift up to 6.2 for full pH scale absorption) 12/6-12/7 overnight water level dropped & she drank like 1.5L / topped with weak nute solution. 📆 12/8 started a Negative DIF testing. DIF meaning difference between day and night temp. Usually DIF is positive when day temperature is greater than night, which is naturally. But by manipulating your DIF in negative (Warmer night temps than day temp) we do reduce 30% of stem elongation AKA stretch. — Negative DIF in hydro growing can greatly impact in yields if the stretch being controlled right way. • 12/9 - 2nd uppest new shoot length: 3cm / 1.2" (new measurement @ 12/10 night) 📆 12/9 - Topped res with 3ml Terpinator, 1ml Bloom & 1ml HG. - EC topped to 1.8 (1.6 was starting)

📆 12/14 - Stretch phase going ham! ~50-150ppm drops daily. She drinks half gallon per day and pH keeps falling. — pH adjusted to 6.0 — Topped with Remo Astroflower for back to 1.6 EC / 840ppm 📆 12/16 - 250-270ppm of K seem to be little too low for her. 📆 12/17 - First light defoliation 📆 12/18 - Second defoliation 📆 12/19 Reservoir change (see above)

📆 12/21 - Start of the 7th week: • Defoliated for a bit second time • more LST:ing to get her into shape • Drinks about 3-4L (~1gallon) per 18h 📆 12/22 - Getting 100-150ppm drops daily and pH tends to drop from 6.0 down to 5.5-5.6 before adjusting back to 5.9-6 * excessive Phosphorus might elevate the stem elongation — not very satisfied how much she stretches, even tho still having a negative DIF. 📆 12/23 Topped res with 5.5ml of BioBizz’s Cal/Mag (0.5ml/l) - Gave seaweed/kelp extract as a foliar feed (Kelp should have ”natural PGR's” which should inhibit the stem elongation) - Defoliated little to open up the canopy 📆 12/26 - New reservoir aka bucket change day! Current reservoir mix listed on ”Nutrients” -part.

📆 12/27 - Slight Ca deficiency symptoms on two particular upper leaves visible. — Added 3.5ml of Canna’s Cal/Mag Agent, incase it is a deficiency. Feels like something locking Ca uptake. 📆 12/28 - Same particular leaves getting more brown spots. Reservoir has 160ppm of Ca and 62ppm of Mg. 📆 1/1 Bucket change! Nutes listed above 👆 / Ending EC: 1.9 / TDS 990ppm

📆 1/4 - Start of the 9th week! • Magnesium def/lockout still appears. Feeding additional Canna’s Mono Magnesium. Running half dose for now. • growth seem to be little stunted 📆 1/5 - Mixed a new reservoir patch: - 1.1ml/l Micro - 0.6ml/l Grow - 2.2ml/l Bloom - 0.55ml/l Astro Flower - 0.45ml/l Canna MONO Magnesium Ending EC: 1.9 / TDS: 980ppm * Left Terpinator out * Peeked @ 2 EC

She keeps drinking about 3-4L (~1gallon) per 12h. Topping the reservoir to maintain about 800-950ppm. Bud production seem to be lacking for a bit or then shes just lazy one. 📆 1/19 - Start of the 11th week. Will start reducing EC gradually. She needs 10-15 days more. 📆 1/21 - Reservoir change. Now shes getting lighter feed towards the end. Current reservoir TDS: 660ppm / 1.3 EC

📆 1/25 - Shifting into 12th week. She might still need next 10-14 days before taking down 📆 1/26 - She pulled thru some cold stress. Kinda neglected her, sorry 🥦 📆 1/28 - Day 80 / Looks like new calyxes still forming and she still kickin' so decided to give her a 2nd PK boost treatment. • Starting with 0.75ml/l - 1.7EC • drinks about 1.5L/12h

📆 2/2 - Day 85 / Getting soooo close!!!! 🥦🥦 📆 2/4 - Gaver her a stem split on day 87 📆 2/5 Getting end of the 13th week! She is ready to be harvested. Some of the lower larf/popcorns stayed pretty fluffy and leafy. I’ll be using most of the larfs and trimmings to make hash.

It was pretty straightforward growth. No major issues - some Mg def during the flowering (might be due the negative DIF testing) Some of the lower buds stayed pretty fluffy and ended with 40g dry larf which will be used to make hash. 135g top shelf nugs jarred!
