Day 8 - 1/15/22 - transplanted seedlings into intermediate pots. They will stay in the nursery for 2 weeks then go into the 5 gal pots and eventually into the new 5 foot Spider Farmer tent. Rookie mistake - my nursery for the babies is too close to the window and the seedling mat is underneath the "tub". Gonna put the mat inside the tub later today and see what happens. I'll keep it as dry as possible. Day 10 - put the heat mat inside the nursery. Hooked up a reptile humidifier to run 15 mins each hour. Young-uns looking good. 2 of 3 have purple stems. Prob because they got a little cold? Got down to 65 in the nursery and humidity was a little low too. Day 12 - Nothing new really. Babies working on their second nodes... The heat mat inside the nursery did the trick so inside temperature is now fairly consistent. Consistent nursery humidity I haven't quite mastered yet. I will figure it out tho... Day 14 - Slowly growing....

Day 15 - 1/22/22 - These photos are growing slowly which is cool with me. They're my first photos so maybe this is normal. Regardless it's the end result we're after! Note - BTW if you're wondering why all the germination weeks... Well there's no seedling stage so I don't use veg until I have 3 multi-leaf nodes. Day 16 - upped my ph game cause I knew that I could not be accurate just using my current testing solution. Could only get kinda close maybe sorta. So I picked up a BlueLab PH pen (recommended by the "420 Scene"). Long story short it looks like I've been feeding the babies something near 7.0. Now I am able to get 6.3 or 6.4 consistently. Maybe I want to be at 6.5. Not sure so I'm going for 6.3 +/- 1 for now. Hoping they like it better! Day 18 - Will have their 3rd nodes developed when "next week" starts (3 more days). Will transplant them into their final pots and start the veg stage at that time. IMHO, since there's no Seedling stage (for some strange reason), I'm keeping them in "Germination" until the 3rd node is developed. Day 19 - Will be prepping the 5gal pots today and letting the soil come up to room temp before transplanting in 2 days. Moved them out of the germination and seedling nursery and into the small 2x2x5 tent. They can adjust to the SF1000D LED light for a couple days while waiting. They will live in this small tent until they outgrow it or until I find a more permanent home. I gotta tell ya that these young ladies are extremely happy right now. I've definitely improved my germination and seedling game on this second grow!

Day 1 (1/8/21) - all 3 floating in the shot glass. Wanna go for 48 hours before checking. I have a new nursery to try out! Day 2 - looks like all 3 have probably germinated (after 33 hours). If so gonna transplant them in the morning into Rapid Rooter plugs then into the dome. Day 3 - after 48 hours they looked great and now live in the Rapid Rooter cube and under the dome. The 24 inch T5 HO 2x 6500k light is on and about 12 inches above them... Day 4 - 2 have popped out already and i think i see the third one too. Day 5 - all 3 popped above the soil so I removed the dome. One still has a helmet-head so I'm I'm working on that. All I really do is keep it wet using an eye dropper and the seedling does the rest. Day 7 - helmet head resolved. Providing a pic on the last day of week 1. This grow is intended to practice my germination and seedling starting techniques. They seem a little tall but will be OK I think. That's why I'm doing this - to figure this stuff out!

Day 22 - 1/29/22 - Growing like weeds and extremely healthy looking. I'm not quite ready to transplant yet as I'm transforming the tent area into a dedicated grow room. Day 24 - transplanted into 5gal fabric pots. Couldn't wait any longer. Looking extremely good! Note: Doing a little test. Pot 1 = 33% Cali Super Soil and some perlite (bottom) and the rest is FF Ocean Forest. Pot 2 same as #1 but using FF Strawberry Fields instead of Cali SS. Pot 3 is 100% Ocean Forest. Day 28 - Growing nicely - very healthy. Gonna top them ASAP. Got the temp and humidity dialed in.

My second grow ever (and first photo period attempt) involves these White Widows. I want to top these at least twice. Currently have 3 multi leaf nodes. When's a good time to do the first - and then the second - topping? I've heard several opinions. Maybe I could do 3? Thx

I would top them now, your lower branches will grow up to meet your top branches and when your top branches get going good again after the topping, top all the branches near the top of the plant including the lower ones that grow up to meet your top ones. Then start LST to keep them all at the same hight. Hope this helps, cheers 💨

Day 29 - 2/5/22 - Just topped all 3. First time topping and it was sad to see the beautiful new growth be taken out but I know it's for the greater good. They've almost grown out of the tiny tent already. This presents a challenge as their new home is not quite ready. I'll figure something out. Day 31- trimmed the lowest multi-leaf nodes. Took some new pics with this new Surface Pro 7 camera to see how they turn out in the bright light. These babys are growing out of this 2x2x5 tent. Day 34 - trimmed the giant fan leaves on top to expose the growth below.

Day 39 - 2/15/22 - removed a couple leafs from each plant that were blocking light to lower growth. Anything I do to one I do to all. Everyone gets treated the same. I did have a couple on the last grow that needed a little more love at times but I try to provide the same for all. I am hoping to make these ladies quite large. I think I can pull it off. Can't LST until they move out of Tiny-Tent in a week or 2. Hey I like that name lol. Confidence level is high. Feeling good about all I've already learned. Day 41 - moved these 3 Widows into the 4x4. Grows 1+2 are now in the same tent. Already the Widows are stretching as they were just fed and now have more elbow room to grow and more light too. Keeping a close eye on the 80% light intensity at 30 inches to see if any problems ensue with the abrupt change in said light. Also trimmed a bit to allow light to all important areas that were blocked. Note: An an early observation regarding differences between plant #1, 2, and 3... (at this moment) #2 is by far the tallest, strongest, and healthiest I guess + probably gonna be a monster. #3 looks like #2 only smaller, and #1 has closer inter-nodal distance is overall smaller and bushier. All seem quite happy. 2/21 - Light watering - fed 2Tsp Grow big @6.3 - 1 gal for all 3. Day 42 - no problem with the lighting change/upgrade. Growing fast and looking good. Day 43 - light trimming to expose important lower growth while trying to keep as much foliage as possible. Much thought goes into each cut. Gonna be huge I hope. 2/23 - LST for the first time. Minor trimming.

3/7 - grow room transition complete. Now things can get back to normal. New lighting too! Amazing upgrade! Took off the pipe cleaner LST and let them free. I want them to get bigger before flipping and now I have the room to do so... 3/13 - Battling what I believe to be a Ph issue in Plant 3. Some more Cal-Mag+ might do the trick next watering.

3/19 - Still watching Plant 3 and am concerned. Seems to be eating itself. This is the one with 100% Ocean Forest and no Super Soil. Have given it some nutes and micros so we will see how the new growth looks. Yesterday I LST'd in prep for flipping in a week or so. Also need to do a bit of work in the grow room to be able to use a net... 3/22 - plants look OK. Plant 3 may have recovered. A little bit more time will tell. But I was able to at least slow down the decay so that's good. Maybe get the ScrOG net up today. Gotta flip these ASAP! 3/24 - posting a grow question today re plant 3. I was hoping I could figure it out but nothing I've done seems to help. Fired up my first ScrOG net. Have a second one if needed. Turned out OK with the room setup. Maybe flip on 4/1?

By looking at the pics does anyone have an idea what's up? This started 2 weeks ago after a suspected low Ph watering with (FF Big Bloom) but I'm new so not sure. First I flushed her then over the last 2 weeks have given her some CalMag+, Molasses, FF Grow Big, and Epsom salt

Are you monitoring the EC of the solution going into the medium? FF nutrient suggestions are strong and you maybe able to use a bit less. Good idea to add in calmg, cannabis uses a lot of calcium and magnesium. But it will raise the EC of the solution a bit. That's my first guess or its after math from the PH swing from last week. If you water and have runoff I'd also measure the water that comes out for PH and EC. Might give you a better understanding of what going on. Good Luck!

4/2 - Flipped them to flower yesterday. Plant 3 might still be in some trouble. Seems to be caused by an instance of a low Ph watering in a substrate with little to no buffering capabilities. Plant 1 took the Ph issue in stride and Plant 2 took it pretty well too. Also, gonna try not to defoliate from here if I can avoid it. Note: Picked up a Bluelab Conductivity Pen and will be testing runoff. Not sure what to do with the data yet cause there's a lot of info out there that I still need to digest! 4/4 - what a difference from a couple weeks ago. Giving the ladies a good sized dose of Cal-Mag+, Molasses, and Epsom salt - over the last 2 waterings - turned them around and now they are actively growing again. I learn so much every day I just love it! One day your plants are looking sad and you don't know why and you're really concerned. But then you research, review your nutrient schedule (didn't have one but I do now), and make a decision on what to try. If you are right that builds your confidence and fills a gap in your knowledge. Plant 3 still needs to be monitored however. This one is still not strong IMHO. I don't have a nutrient schedule per-say I just keep track of when I water with nutrients, what they are, and how much of each. Every time I water I review the list and and make the decision as to what to feed at that time. 4/6 - I removed the LST pipe-cleaners. I guess it was to make the canopy a little more even - which it did. Performed EC/TDS tests on runoff from #1 and #3 - the healthiest and unhealthiest plant. Still not sure about the EC numbers I took yesterday but #1 had runoff PH at 6.0 and 3 had it at 6.5. Gonna do one on #2 next watering. New canopy pics above.

4/9 - As far as I can tell Plant 3 has a low soil PH problem. So I amended the top inch and a half of plant #3's soil with 2 Tbsp Dolomite Lime. Mixed in with a little water. Honestly I'm not sure I can save her. I will try my best but she really wants to keep eating herself. Plant 1 looking the most healthy overall with #2 a pretty close second.

4/18 - Plant 3 might be OK moving forward but time will tell. Added Dolomite Lime to #2 to address a persistent yellowing. But overall I am thrilled with the health of these ladies. Not perfect but I'm getting better better at defining and resolving deficiencies quicker. These are gonna be very nice adults I can tell... I'll feed them Humboldt's Flower Stacker when I don't want Nitrogen and FF Tiger Bloom when I do! 4/21 - Plant 1 got some CalMag+, Plant 2 got flushed with 5.5 gallons of 6.5 pH water. Runoff started at 5.4 and after the full flush was still only 5.8. I ran out of good water or I would have put a few more gallons thru her. The last half gallon had some CalMag+ in it. Looks like I found the problem - low pH soil. Same thing I found with Plant 3 earlier. Both plants will be saved! I hope I learned my lesson here... Plant 3 needs to dry more.

4/25 - All is well as Plant 3 has recovered due to the flush (5.4pH runoff!) and subsequent Dolomite Lime treatment. It is the darkest green of all 3 now. Plant 1 is doing best overall and added D Lime to it to help with yellowing. Plant 2 - Got a tip from an online growers video that said Strawberry Fields does not have enough Nitrogen and you will have to supplement at some point. Low N could very well be the issue. That sucks because too much N in flowering leads to airy buds so I will have to be careful when adding. Maybe use Tiger Bloom and see as then I know how much I use.

5/2 - all 3 now use the same nutes but are on different watering schedules lol. Working on bringing them all back in line. Plant 2 - am working on a somewhat persistent yellowing issue. I don't think it's the lights I think it's actually a N deficiency so I'm going in that direction. Given it good doses of Epsom already among other things. #1 looking really good as that Cali Super Soil definitely has some great pH and nutrient buffering ability. #3 looking good as well considering what she has gone thru. NOTE - so the reason why my plants got into trouble is a couple very low inadvertant pH waterings - which helped reduce the soil pH to 5.4. Took me a bit to figure it out - but now I know!

Hello bro. Frankly, I don't care about its taste and smell. What are the effects of White Widow? Yes, it has a high thc rate, but can you talk about any effects that will distinguish it from other strains? Are there things that make it extraordinary? Can you describe how it makes you feel? What about the colours, music, thoughts and pleasures?

Hey there friend. Congratulations on getting into growing cannabis! I think you are gonna really like it here at growdiaries. looking at your diary, Would you be alright with me offering some pointers? So cannabis plants LOVE heat and humidity. It is the buds that hate it. In veg we want to take advantage of this fact to help our plants grow along much quicker and more vigorously. In veg we can look for temps of 79-84 MAX with lights on & no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. If we allow for too much temperature swing between lights on and lights off while the plant is still growing vertically up to day 20 of flower, We will cause the plant to stretch ALOT which we do not want. So in veg & early flower, Keeping our temperature gaps nice and close between lights on and off is key. Utilizing humidity in our rooms during veg will also help out a lot with more rapid growth but we must introduce it properly. In our rooms we have our temperature and humidity set-points, But when we combine those 2 it forms a third set-point which is the most important & that is called VPD, Vapor pressure deficit. I strongly recommend every new grower or old grower who has not learned it yet, To study and understand it & implement it into your room, Logging your numbers daily. https://cerescann.com/importance-of-measuring-vpd/ For soil, We generally want to go for a PH of 6.1 This website does a GREAT job of illustrating it with a nice graph & very good detailed explanation for soil. https://autoflowerseedshop.com/cannabis-ph-chart-guide/ As we briefly touched on before, During veg & early flower we want our temperature gap's nice and tight to avoid stretch. Why exactly our plants stretch in response to this is a genetic trigger being activated by the environmental stress essentially telling the plant the end of the season is closer than it really is. In veg & early flower the plant is still in its first stage of development which is to grow up wide and tall so when it produces seed, It can cast them out nicely. Remember, Whether we are growing our plants for seed or bud their genetic responses do not change as they gh sidedo not know any different. Once the plant has finished that first stage of growth by weeks 4-6 of flower with most strains, It is by day 20 of flower. Autoflowers you have to watch for it, But once the plant has finished this goal its new mission is to focus 100% on producing nice big flower clusters & to get very sticky so it can attract pollen to it successfully. So once that vertical growth is finished, We actually now want to begin to expose our plants to larger temperature swings between lights on and lights off. This will help activate that genetic response and allow us to draw out the most potential from the strain utilizing the plants genetic triggers to environmental stresses at the right times. We can also take this a step further with doing light deprivation in the last 2 weeks using less light to simulate cloud cover. Very cold feed temps on the last flush is very good too. If you do not have them already, Get yourself a good PAR meter & thermal laser temp gun to monitor your plant top temperatures & optimize how much light your plants are getting. We are currently in the middle of producing a very comprehensive tutorial series for everybody to learn from & understand how to grow the highest level craft cannabis all on their own. If this interests you please check out our youtube and subscribe. The first 2 episodes are out the next one is coming in a few days. If you should ever have any questions or need any help, Please feel free to follow my profile and shoot me a DM. I will gladly help you with the pull down & make sure you get the best quality harvest possible as it is the most important step of the entire process. Our third episode of our tutorial series just went up check it out our youtube is linked off our main grow diaries profile, Sub for all future episodes we release every 7 days of growth!
