Day 10. Got frame set for future training. Having to go easy on watering, started from seed direct in substrate. Girl looks normal. I’ll manifold her so veg will be 6 to 9 weeks and hope she doesn’t out grow the tent after flip. First grow on this strain so that’s the plan, fingers crossed . I use rain water and make sure that I have 200 gallons on hand before starting a grow. After mixing nutrients I add water to the gallon of mixed solution until the TDS drops to around 500, then I’ll ph it at 6.2-6.4. As she gets a little bigger root system I can stop using liquid supplements for the most part. Hopefully
Day14: fed 3cups of water on day 12 I’ll feed again when she is topped off not sooner.
Day 22. 2nd toppings done, finally dried out enough to water. Fed a half gallon of stored rainwater. 4months no rain I have about 2 months of water left. Let it rain.
CPK-Day26. Dry pot well light anyways got to put a good feed on her today I think she has finally started to drink. Fed half gallon with nutes full strength. Still stretching her legs out, think another 4 weeks at least, I'm looking to flip at 14 inches above the bamboo.
Day-36 CPK. Fed 1 gallon nutrients @ph6.2 runoff ph6.7. she's a beauty , I'm planning to flip @13-15" her neighborhood is gonna get really crowded, probably should have manifolded the Banana. When they reach the Thai Princess that watches them it's time to flip and start raising the lights, that's her job if any of you were wondering. I'm running the old LED lights in the middle on veg only and will not turn on bloom until after the stretch. Trying to keep the 2 autos in here until the flip in a bout 10 days or so. The other little fems have perked up with a little LST/defoliation. Still no rain, so I'm hanging wet towels and boiling water to try and maintain humidity. Even after eating last night I'm barely maintaining 52%rh. My Exhale bag is just about done and ready for the compost bin so I'm just running my bottle. This bag produced for 6mos as usual. The price of Exhale 360 has nearly doubled in the last 2 years . I have the bottle to supplement between bags but I think I'm going to use just the bottle for now. It's cheaper and controlled by a regulator with a solenoid and last about 15 days per mix and charge.
Day-38 CPK. Fed a gallon of nutrients. Added a shot of banana water for her future use during strech in a few weeks. That's it for today.
Day-39 CPK. OOPS! About 4 days ago I remember hearing a small snap while watering, well I accidentally topped one of the main colas. Of course it was at a node that produced a fork that is 90° off . UHG!;
Oh well, that hurried my decision to move the auto flowers out and have a lot less chance for accidents.
Day-41 CPK. After 2 consecutive heavy feedings, I was still seeing a calmag deficiency. Pretty common issue in my grows especially with cocoir. So for all the Anti-Flushers, I decided to 'detoxify'. Flushed with 1.5 gallons of water with a few drops Ivory dish detergent to strip salts , took pH reading of the early runoff and it was above 6.8 then I flushed a gallon of rainwater through the subtrate . Finally I added 10ml of calmag and 1.25ml of GHE Hardwater the ghe is just because rainwater is almost distilled and is barren and it's a low calcium additive that lets me calmag or not
Day-43, CPK. Started the week 7 with a little catch-up on the status. Yesterday I defoliated the day before was flush day, so today at lights on I'm feeding one gallon of nutrients. Got no runoff but that's plenty, she has drank at least a gallon since flush and her color is a little better. I think they are all deficient still, by tomorrow I'll know if I had a pH problem or what. if they don't perk up I may need to recalibrate my meter. Planning to flip soon about 2-3 more inches. Added the bloom cycle on my exvelence LED's so they're now at full power 135watt ea. that brings the wattage for the rest of the grow 850watts approximately. I think she is going be fine seems to be really liking the manifold train. This close to flip I started transitioning to flower nutrients also included a little banana water to prep for the stretch. I'll probably water once between now and the flip so she should be ready to go if her neighbors get healthy too.
Day 45 CPK. Ok I've checked my pH meter and recalibrated, it was reading 0.5 below actual pH, yeah that will cause several deficiencies. Watered today @6.25 she looks better. She just needs to grow another inch or 2 for the flip
Day-46,CPK. Today I'm doing a little defoliation, and top dressing with earthworm castings, bat guano, Dr. Earth bud & bloom. Almost time for lights out and I'm planning to reset the timers for flip at that time. She is at 13" and Im not sure but I think she is gonna get stretchy so almost 7 weeks.
2-16 flipped to 11hr 45min
Day-50,CPK. She's doing well, flipped, watered , waiting for fuzz. Started stretch this afternoon just before lights out. Zzzzzzzzz.
Copied this update from another diary in this same grow, week, tent etc.
I went ahead and ordered a new Exhale bag as the old one is dry and light and ready for the compost bin. I said I wasn't, but the price dropped by 18 today. Perfect timing the bottle is more accurate but to get 1200ppm you have to refill once a week. The bag is 6 months with no maintenance and back to 6 a month. My last bag quit this week after 6 months and one week exactly. Also ordered a Monkey fan and will no longer lose the back of the tent space to that leaning tower of interlocking plastic crates under a 12 pound oscillating fan. Also moved the electric works up higher on the back poles. Once I get all reset after almost 3 years in this tent, I'll surely decide now I need a new one. Anyway the back of the tent is gonna get utilized for growing instead of blowing and I can probably stop moving things around as much.
Day-52, CPK. Fed nutes minor defoliation and elevated to the canopy. Still no monkey fan, but they are ready.
Day 63/64 CPK. Starting week 10 just watered pH in 6.35 pH runoff 6.5, defoliated also.
Day 66 CPK. Fed nutes today. It's getting hard to control the pH probably salt retention. The pH in was 5.9 and the runoff pH was 6.7 so she is ready for a little flush on the next watering
Day 69 CPK. Water only today, mini flush to a half gallon runoff. End week 10. 3-9-22
Day 72 CPK. Feeding every day alternating every other day plain rainwater or nutient water. She got moved to the back left corner for a few reasons. First to allow different light penetration plus with her next to the front door zipper she normally gets moved out of the tent during watering or what not and hasn't benefitted from that mainly because I'll just stand there and stare at them with the door open. Then she is always the victim of my OCD which leads to being overly defoliated. Anyway she is now back left in the clas pictures and one nasty looking bitch. The tent reeks of fuel.
Day 74 CPK. She just had her breakfast. Checked the pH/TDS of the runoff. The pH was 7.25 , TDS 4238. So she looks fine and I'm thinking just water until the end . There are reasons I don't get paid to think. This may be one.
Day 78 CPK. Just checking in to add a photo
Day 80 CPK. Fed nutes yesterday. On that note, Fox Farms gets a bad rap mainly because of growers that use it with little knowledge and don't read the label. Use full strength as I do only if you are using clean rainwater or reverse osmosis, distilled water or you know that your tap water has a TDS of less than one hundred. Even then I wound cut back a little. Nearly all tap water has a considerably higher TDS unless your community water is reverse osmosis. Ok so I use rain water, it's free after the barrels and the TDS is always around 15 with a pH normally about 6.35. Reverse osmosis is expense as it creates 3 gallons of waste water to produce a gallon of clean water. So check your water source before you don't read the label and you'll save your plants.
Day 84 CPK. Last feed of nutrients today. Start flush this week
Day 86 CPK. Flushed 4 drops Ivory dish detergent in one gallon of water, followed by 2 gallons of rainwater pH 6.3. Runoff numbers from the last quart; TDS 1840ppm, pH 7.1. She should be able to go 3-4 weeks easily on just rain water.
Day 88 CPK. She drank 1 gallon pH 6
Day 90 CPK. Not very photogenic, knobby looking
Day 91-92 CPK. WHITE DEATH decended on her neighbors. Mold showed up on one bud in 2 of the other plants in this tent, not on this plant but in plants on either side. Got some great advice from a grower that goes by m0use and thanks so much I followed your advice and am seeing no mold or damage. I removed the top that had the mold growing 2 inches below the affected spot there was nothing under or behind it or anywhere else that I could see so I must have caught it very early. Next I mixed 2 cups of spring water with 2 ounces of 3% hydrogen peroxide, then misted the whole grow until I had used it all. This was done at lights out I placed a fan in front of the tent opened the tent on all sides and let the fan dry her off before the lights came back on. When the lights came back on there were a few places at the back of the tent where I used a paper towel to dab some wet leaves then blow dried with no heat to be sure that section was dry, the blow dry was only a minute or 2. It worked plants looking great checked trichomes and they are all there and clear so mission accomplished. Again thanks to m0use for the help and I plan to start bud washing between chop and dry on all grows, I tried to reply to all answers on my grow questions but once again the techno caveman doesn't know how to do something simple. Copy and pasteing this on the other diaries... Yep that I can do. Ok happiness flush continues and starting to see some cannibal fade.
Day 96 CPK. Finally got some color on this hulk.
Day 97 CPK. Watered ph 5.8 she is so close that I did not check runoff. Got the big Banana out of the tent so I moved her forward and gave her a good inspection. Found one of the small outer tops that had been facing the back wall had a small half inch area of thin white mold which got cut out. I've added a mini dehumidifier in the tent and a large one to the room. I've never had a mold issue until I switched out that big16" oscillating fan for the 6" monkey fan. Strongly suspect there is no substitute for the amount of air that big fan moved. Especially since I added 1 more oscillating fan under the canopy to the 1 that was already there plus the dehumidifiers plus the 2 clip fans that have been there from the start of the grow. My rh is around 50%, CO2 around 1200 ppm. My other theory is over the winter there was COVID in the house and we kept the humidity in the house high to keep from coughing our heads off which has led to a mold bomb effect.
This girl is a champion easy grow easy trim. Very mold resistant or much more so than the other strains in the same tent, especially since she was in the back corner. I would recommend growing this strain to anyone. She was normal on nutrients never stressed from too much or too little. She got big so I'm glad she was manifolded. Took 4 hours to trim, wash and rinse, I found almost no mold but did cut out one bud, the source of mold was another strain in the tent that turned into a little runted mold factory. Can't say enough about what a great plant this is I will grow again and hope I didn't just get a freak pheno. Love this plant. Thanks Seedsman.
What type of clip fan you using there bro? I am looking for one for my tent tutorial series. Check out my greenhouse flashback grow to see how my critical purple turned out! We got 1 auto hermie out of 3 we had to pull but the 2 that finished came out beautifully caked. I can't wait to see how these turn out!
@Loserofthemonth, Thanks so much bro! You are a legend, I will for sure give you a shout-out when going through the equipment best used for these style grows. Thank you again for taking your time to respond my man. Your plants look amazing, Great work and keep up the amazing effort.
@LegacyMarketFarm, I'll check my Amazon orders and get back to you . Those are 3d printed pole clips that the fans are clipped to and solve all clip fan problems. I got those on Amazon also. They are called "grow tent fan mount". I'll put up a picture. Ok I checked and the actual clip fan is an "Air King" and it's a very good quality fan. Went thru several before I found these a couple of years ago. Ok hope that helped and I'll get over there to say hi on your grow soon.
@cheetah844, well if you see I've already answered this, it's because I think I did but I don't see it. This strain is gonna be a mystery to me since I have never used or grown it knowingly. By the the way love my craftyII but I'm way too lazy and old school so it is seldom used. Glass and paper are my scene. As for asthetics and her not being photogenic it's just a color and frost thing with very little contrast. She is really beautiful and I expect to get some color in the next 2 weeks. Olive frost makes a boring picture. Good luck with your grow, I wish I could help you with more experience and say I've seen this robust phenotype before but she is my first CPK and is a single girl.
@cheetah844, I have not used this strain before but the genetics are tasty looking. I've tried to use different dry vapes for a few years. I do like the Crafty II, but I rarely use one. I'm lazy and old school, glass hammer and paper.
@Loserofthemonth, I grow for the same thing... Personal use then give away extra. (I use a very efficient vaporizer too so I use even less than the norm). With just this one harvest I probably wouldn't be able to use it all up in my lifetime.
Wow 10oz! That's awesome, thank you for suggesting this grow!
Have you used this strain before?
