Great White - Plant Success (Plant Revolution)
Great White 0.13 mll
1/11: -Placed 3 seeds into a cup of dechlorinated tap water. 1/12: -After seeds sank and soaked for around 20 hours, I planted them directly into the substrate, moving any larger pieces of soil/perlite away from the seed locations. Watered generously with dechlorinated tap water. 1/13: -Watered again with Great White added into the water to help speed up the tap-rooting process. 1/14: -Dug up all the seeds to check the progress with doubts of things going well, to find I was correct. Re-adjusted the seeds on top of the soil, taproot side down. Will simply use the spray bottle to avoid moving the seed until the taproot is more developed in the soil. -Would NOT recommend planting directly into the substrate if your soil isn't good quality like my FoxFarm soil seems to be. A lot of big pieces like wood or twig in it. Had much better results germinating the taproots in a paper towel. Seeds do seem to be slowly progressing, but I will continue to keep a steady eye on them and will probably never germinate directly in soil in particular again, unless the medium/soil is very fine. -Misted the inside of cups with a couple air holes, and placed them on top of the seeds to increase the relative humidity. 1/15: -Immediate noticeable improvement from the seeds after the changes. All 3 have taproots within the soil and have successfully germinated. Sprinkled some Great White directly on to the taproots and misted the seeds directly. 1/17: -All 3 seeds are starting to erect and all 3 also have their seed coats on. 1/18: -2 of the 3 seeds showed sudden signs of damping off (dying). The stems on both are turning a black color, while the 3rd seed seems completely healthy. This is probably due to some kind of fungi in the soil being present and overwhelming the seedlings due to high humidity. I DEFINITELY will avoid placing seeds directly into substrate like Fox Farm soil in the future. -Germinating my other two Fast Buds Skunk Auto seeds to make up for the probable two seeds I will lose due to damping off. If/when they successfully germinate, I will place a decent layer of coco-coir on top to help the seed avoid direct soil early on. 1/19: -After showing signs of damping off, both seedlings have died off completely, while Seedling #1 has survived and is still thriving. 1/20: -Both the replacement seeds have successfully germinated inside the damp paper towel. Will give them another 8 - 12 hours to develop a larger taproot before transplanting them into the same pots that failed my other two seeds previously, except I'm going to add a layer of coco-coir to the area where the seedlings will be transplanted. 1/22: -Tent hit 50 degrees F while the lights were out due to it being extremely cold outside and my family deciding to turn the heat off for hours without my knowledge, gotta love those Pepega's. Not sure if the seedlings are going to handle that lapse in temperature very well, or if it just killed them off in general. Only time can tell. 1/24: -Despite the hinderance of those around me, I was able to make sure the seedlings didn't die off after successful germination. They're both beginning to leave the soil and slowly become erect. -Since all 5 seeds did successfully sprout, I DEFINITELY think the soil + temperature was the issue with two seeds damping off early on. I'll more than likely be sticking to germinating via paper towel from now on, since I've already had 100% success rates with it.

1/25: -Since the plants are in soil, I've been using dechlorinated tap-water for watering at 6.5 - 7.0 pH. -After quite a frustrating start with the first 5 seeds, 3 were successfully germinated are out of their seed coats and are beginning to grow. -I've been sprinkling some Great White every couple of days when misting/watering to help speed the root development along. 1/30: -Plant 1 is clearly stunted a little bit in some way, it hasn't grown too much in the past 5 days, even though it looks completely fine and healthy and has since starting to grow. -Plant 2 and Plant 3 are growing along slowly, but also look healthy. -I believe the temperature in the tent isn't exactly ideal for these seedling, which is perhaps affecting the speed of/stunting their early growth.

2/2: -Watered with 1mL/gal CalMag, 1tbsp Big Bloom and some Great White. 2/3: -Quite noticeable growth from all 3 plants after yesterdays watering and observing them after turning the lights on today. The rH has been quite high as of yesterday and today, so perhaps that has aided in their growth spurt. If all three plants remain healthy, I should see rapid growth from this point forward. 2/5: -Gave all 3 plants some more of the previous water solution. 2/8: -All 3 plants seem to be okay with water at this moment, though I'll definitely start a VERY low dose of nutrients tomorrow since they've started to grow rapidly as expected.

2/9: -All 3 plants are showing signs of deficiencies, I'm assuming Nitrogen due to the color they're showing. -Watered all 3 plants with a small dose of Grow Big to supplement the nutrients (3mL/gal), as well as CalMag (2mL/gal). 2/11: -Watered all 3 plants with the previous remaining solution. 2/13: -All plants watered with a small dose of Grow Big (4.5mL/gal), a med. dose of CalMag (3mL/gal) and some Big Bloom. pH of solution was around 6.4. -One of the plants is showing an immediate sign of some kind of CalMag related deficiency, it's more than likely related to the pH of the water/substrate and *SHOULD* correct itself as I adjust pH.

2/17: -All plants seem to be improving in color after being given liquid nutrients. I assumed the slow release nutrients would be enough to suffice, but it seems not. 2/18: -Leaves are still showing signs of overwatering, been holding off on watering again for a few days now. 2/19: -LST begun on Plant 1. -Watered Plant 1 (since it was the only plant not showing signs of overwatering) with a small dose of Grow Big (4mL/gal), a small dose of some CalMag (2mL/gal), Big Bloom (2mL/gal) and some Great White (1/2 tsp/gal) at around 6.1 ph. -Will water the other two plants with the same watering solution tomorrow. 2/20: -Watered Plants 2 and 3 with the same watering solution used yesterday on Plant 1. 2/22: -Watered Plant 1 with a low dose of Grow Big (4mL/gal) and some CalMag (2mL/gal) at around 6.1 pH. 2/23: -LST has begun on both Plants 2 and 3 as well.

2/24: -LST began yesterday on both Plants 2 and 3. An extreme defoliation is needed on all three plants to increase light exposure to lower nodes. They're practically getting none at all. 2/25: -All plants seemed to handle LST rather well, though I was as careful as possible due to previous mishaps. -First round of some extreme defoliation on all 3 plants to increase light exposure on lower growth nodes. 2/26: -All 3 plants seemed to have handled their first round of defoliation rather well. The nodes that were previously covered by fan leaves even had an overnight growth spurt. -Going to pull back a bit on nutrients since I've been giving them *enough* over the past two weeks, while the soil is rather 'hot' as far as nutrients go too. Will probably only use a very small dose of CalMag and maybe some Great White to speed up root development. 3/1: -One of the three plants is showing white/mostly brown spots, a clear sign of a sort of deficiency or nutrient lock. More than likely the latter. 3/2: -Will definitely be watering all three plants tomorrow, probably around 6.5pH, no nutes.

3/4: -Watered all 3 plants with no nutrients at around 6.3 - 6.4 pH. -Some minor defoliation on the biggest and newest large fan leaves. 3/5: -Plant 1 is showing noticeable signs of preflower. Starting to grow in height and starting to show small white hairs on each of the nodes. -Plant 2 and Plant 3 are also growing along perfectly well. I should begin to see signs of preflower on them within the next 2 or 3 days. -Further LST has begun on Plant 1. 3/8: -Watered all 3 plants with 6.3 pH water, no nutes. -Plant 1 and Plant 3 are growing in height rather quickly. -Plant 2 is still rather short, though has tons of nodes, seemingly will be a bushier plant overall. -Will be applying LST to both Plants 2 and 3 within the next day or two. 3/10: -All 3 plants now have their initial LST applied.

Rose & Flower Mix 4-8-4 - Down To Earth

3/19: -Top dressed the soil with some Down to Earth 4-8-4. -Watered all three plants with no nutes at around 6.3 - 6.5 pH. -Continued defoliation on all three plants as necessary. -Lighting schedule was changed from 18hrs of light to 16hrs of light since all plants within the tent are in the flowering phase. 3/21: -Started brewing a compost tea to help the plants get the juiciest buds possible, while attempting to avoid giving anymore nutrients to the plants afterwards. Tea will contain: -3.5 TBsp, Black Strap Molasses -3 TBsp, Worm Castings -1.5 TBsp, FoxFarm Big Bloom -1.5 TBsp, Down to Earth 4-8-4 -1 TBsp. Down to Earth 4-4-4 -1 Tsp. Great White 3/23: -Watered all three plants with the compost tea at around 6.2 pH. -After about three hours of them being watered with the compost tea, I gave them an additional watering at around 6.4 - 6.5 pH. -Had to add about 20mL of pH-Up to the compost tea solution in order to get it to a bearable pH level for the plants, in this case it is at around 6.2 pH. -The compost tea didn't smell amazing, probably due to lack of air-circulation during the brew. Beneficial microbial life will likely suffer as a result, but it *SHOULD* be good to use regardless. 3/35: -Finally starting to see some white hairs forming on Plants 2 and 3. Honestly surprised at how long it has taken them to begin showing their flowers.

4/16: -All 3 plants are seemingly growing along perfectly well. 4/17: -Probably only another week or two left on Plant 1. Since it's in a 2 gallon pot, it never grew to be very large, but it seems to be packing some decent sized buds, we'll see if they continue to become even more dense. -Plants 2 and 3 are definitely a week or two behind Plant 1, just how things seemingly turned out with these two being in larger pots. 4/18: -Watered all three plants with some molasses and Great White mixed into 2 gallons of water. Around 6.5 - 6.6pH. 4/20: -Happy 4/20! -Noticed brown spots on the leaves of Plant 2, seemingly both the top and bottom of the plant too. Since I'm always watering until there's runoff, I doubt it's a pH issue. I'll still run the appropriate tests. -Watered all three plants with a solution of 4mL/gal of Tiger Bloom, 2.5mL/gal of CalMag and ~1tbsp/gal of Big Bloom at around 6.1pH. No runoff. -Watered all three plants again with no nutes at around 6.7pH about 10 minutes later to achieve runoff. -Runoff measured in at 6.3pH and around 1,000 PPM/TDS. These readings were ideal, but I have to assume the brown spots appearing on Plant 2 are related to a deficiency and not a pH issue in the roots/soil.

4/22: -Flushed out Plant 1 with a couple of gallons of dechlorinated tap water. -Watered Plants 2 and 3 with no nutes at 6.5pH. 4/23: -The brown spots on Plant 2 have become slightly more relevant, despite the good runoff and TDS readings. Therefore I have to assume it's a true CalMag deficiency. I'll supplement more CalMag during the next feeding. 4/24: -Watered Plant 1 with dechlorinated tap water. -Watered Plants 2 and 3 with a solution of 2mL/gal of CalMag at 6.8pH. 4/26: -Continued to flush out Plant 1 with dechlorinated tap water with a lot of runoff. -Watered Plants 2 and 3 with a solution of 2.5mL/gal of CalMag and 5mL/gal of Tiger Bloom at 6.3pH. -Defoliated both plants plentifully to avoid dark areas within the canopy. 4/28: -Watered all three plants with dechlorinated tap water.

4/30: -Pulled Plant 1 and placed into drying rack. -Still attempting to figure out what is wrong with Plant 2. Whether it be leaf septoria, a pH issue in the root zone, a TDS issue, etc. -Asked the community their opinion on the problem. It's still possible it's septoria, despite high circulation within the tent and no spread to other plants. I will remove affected leaves and clean the surroundings of the tent a little bit regardless. -Update: Wasn't much to be cleaned in the tent if I'm being honest, used a mixture of Green Cleaner (~15mL) + 91% Rubbing Alcohol (~5mL), diluted into about a cup and a half of water and cleaned around the tent floor and walls. I also changed out the runoff trays with fresh clean ones. The charcoal filters outer cover could certainly use a changing however. -Update: Will most likely water the plants with some more Tiger Bloom for the next couple of feedings, before soon flushing them out completely. -Plant 3 is beginning to show minor signs of some sort of deficiency. Similar to Plant 2 where the lower leaves seem to be yellowing, aside from the veins. It's possible that this is simply nitrogen depleting due to being so late in the flowering cycle, but I will water the plants with some more nutrients tomorrow accordingly. 5/1: -Watered both plants with 2mL/gal of Tiger Bloom, 2mL/gal of CalMag, 1mL/gal of Big Bloom and 1tsp. of Great White at around 6.7pH. 5/3: -Cut the stems on Plant 1 to prepare for a full trim tomorrow/late tonight. -Plant 2 is continuing to show symptoms, it's rather frustrating to be so unaware. Tomorrow I'm going to water all the plants with some dechlorinated tap water and do a runoff test of pH and TDS again to see if lockout or deficiency is an issue. Though I'm starting to believe it's leaf septoria gone awry. For some reason it just doesn't seem like it started from the inside of the canopy/around the soil, since those leaves never showed any symptoms I'm aware of, mostly the outer leaves exposed to the most light, meanwhile the canopy of this particular plant was VERY aerated, so I'm quite unsure how this all began, but I have reason to believe it is indeed septoria. 5/5: -Plant 1 has been curing for a couple of days and has a fantastic taste, as well as a deep pungent smell with a hint of peppery scent. Total dry yield (2 gal. pot) = 21g. -I'm almost certain Plant 2 is suffering from septoria. I'm not positive how it happened, considering humidity is never too high, the canopy was VERY well spread on this particular plant and grow tent has 2 clip fans, 1 fan on the floor and an exhaust fan running at all times. My guess would be watering too frequently, with water splashing on to leaves while watering and perhaps a dead leaf scattered somewhere on the top of the soil that I didn't see. In the future, I'll attempt to use mulch whenever I can, as well as limit the watering with soil grows to every 3-4 days instead of every 2-3. -Plant 3 has been getting some leaves with spots on them as a result of the fungus being present within the tent, however I've been keeping the plants as far apart as possible, while attempting to keep circulation away from Plant 2 to avoid spores hitting Plant 3. I've been removing any leaves I see with any spots at all on Plant 3, luckily there are plenty of leaves on the plant and it can definitely tolerate to have a bunch removed daily without affecting yield too much. -I highly suspect the yield of Plant 2 to be far lower than Plant 3 due to the high stress of the septoria on many leaves. -I'll keep an eye on the buds of Plant 2, to make sure they don't encounter bud rot as a result of septoria being present. If it does form I will remove any affected buds and harvest the plant IMMEDIATELY. -After this grow is finished, I'm going to vacuum the tent and clean the floors, walls, fans, wires, etc. with some bleach and water to attempt to remove the fungus for future grows.

One plants leaves are browning in multiple locations. I attempted to diagnose the problem with runoff tests. pH was 6.5 and TDS was around 900ppm, which was expected since they received nutes that day. Despite not spreading to other nearby plants, could it be leaf septoria?

oh, and it's not rare when your grow mutliple plants from the same strain, some phenotype show some deficiency while all the others don't and while they all get the same feeding, some phenotype are just more capricious and sensitive to feeding than some others. and yup may be septoria, but most prolly k deficiency or calcium deficiency as you were low on feeding

5/7: -Plant 2 is clearly becoming overwhelmed by septoria, while Plant 3 is in a manageable state, only needing to remove a few leaves with symptoms showing per day. -Both plants need another week or two before fully ready to harvest. 5/8: -Watered both plants with dechlorinated tap water. -Did a small trimming of Plant 2 to 'help' contain the fungus a little better, since it's definitely out of control at this point. Very much looking forward to harvesting and thoroughly cleaning out the tent. -Plant 3 must have an incredible root system/immune system. It has been exposed to this fungus for 3+ weeks with VERY minimal signs of damage to the leaves and overall plant in general. I've been continuing to remove any affected leaves as I see them. The buds on both plants are forming nicely, but it is becoming obvious that the buds on Plant 3 are becoming larger than Plant 2. 5/11: -Watered both plants with dechlorinated tap water. -Plant 2 doesn't really have any leaves that are unaffected by an obvious fungus at this point. -Plant 3 has dozens of leaves showing symptoms daily now. I've been removing them as I see them, though that's just to limit the spread of the fungus, since the plant is due for harvest sooner than later.

5/14: -Humidity has been very high over the past couple of days, so I've been keeping an eye out for any further fungus issues, like bud rot. So far so good however. -Despite white pistils still forming on both plants, there are plenty of orange/red ones and some trichomes are beginning to turn brown/darken. Therefore the plants are pretty much ready for harvest! I'll be giving the plants their final watering tomorrow and prepare to harvest and clean them both before drying. -After the plants are removed, I'll dispose of all soil, pots and run-off trays used for that grow.. I'll also be giving the tent a very thorough cleaning with hydrogen peroxide. I'll also be cleaning all the fans, poles, etc. to help ensure the fungus stays gone. 5/15: -Humidity has been so damn high (almost 100% outdoors and 70% in tent), that I just decided to not water them a last time. -I will instead be turning off the grow lights for a couple of days since I am waiting for my 12% hydrogen peroxide to arrive before I clean out the grow tent. I may harvest and clean the buds for drying before that time however. 5/17: -After a day and a half with no lights on, both plants were harvested and cleaned with a diluted hydrogen peroxide solution, as well as a solution of lemon juice and baking soda to help avoid spreading the fungus to my next grow while drying. -Placed in my drying rack after cleaning, fan is facing them directly to help remove the excess water and avoid mold. I'll be moving the fan after a couple of hours of direct airflow.

While I had issues with Plant 2, then soon after Plant 3 having some sort of fungus around the middle/end of flowering, the buds came out great and the grow was fantastic before the issues with the fungus occurred. I'll avoid splashing water in the future to attempt to remove further fungal infections in my grow tent.
