10 OG Kush seeds germinated on January 1st (wet paper towel, then to peat pellets).
7 surviving seedlings transplanted to 1 gallon pots on January 15th (pictured). Soil is a mixture of 1/3 Coast of Maine and 2/3 Fox Farm Happy Frog.
On 1/24/22 watered with a little bit of Fox Farm Big Bloom and Grow Big mixed in. All 7 plants in one tent for now (pictured).
Kush plants are doing well. Topped them yesterday (1/27/2022).
Still in 1 gallon bags, will be repotting in another week so, into 3 or 5 gallon bags (tbd).
Watered today (1/28/2022j with a mix of Fox Farm nutes.
1/30/22 added image of room temp and humidity trend, from a SensorPush sensor. I started using a Lasko heater a couple days ago and the temp control is much improved over the old heater.
Lots of growth this week with the Kush. Using two 36”X36” tents now, one with the single Vipar P1500 and the other with two New Power 120H models (~150 watts each).
2 are in 3 gallon pots
1 is in a 5 gallon pot
4 are still in 1 gallon pots (will be repotting into 3 gallon pots this week)
After that, will probably go to flowering in 2-3 weeks (7-8 weeks total).
Planning on a SOG approach, due to tent constraints. Have topped them all once and will just do some defoliating here and there!
Cheers!
Week 6 Kush update;
Plants are doing well, varying in growth size but all healthy, so far.
Fed with FF Big Bloom and Grow Big, also some Neptunes harvest.
Saw two mites on the Wedding Cake plants and applied AzaMax to the Kush just in case (I’ve been watching very closely since my last grow was infested, and I’ve since totally retooled and cleaned my grow space).
6 plants are in 3 gallon pots and 1 is in a 5 gallon pot. No more transplants.
Probably two more weeks/end of February, with minimal thinning, then to flowering in March.
Comments/suggestions welcome!!!
Cheers!
Week 7 update:
Three of the Kush are under 12 hour light now, with the surviving Wedding Cake. You can see the plant in the 5 gallon pot is smaller - I suspect I’ve been overwatering, as I did with the Wedding cake plant I killed. Otherwise they look healthy.
Four plants are still under 18 hour light too, as pictured. They seem to be doing well.
Cheers.
The Kush plants are doing well, with the exception of the plant in the 5 gallon pot. It definitely has some root lock from overwatering, and is small with lots of thin curling leaves. The good news is the top bud leaves look good on it, and it’s retained it’s nice color, at least for now.
All 7 plants are now in 12 hour flowering cycle.
I’m looking for defoliating tips for the Kush and the Wedding Cake (my other diary).
Thanks and happy growing friends!
John D.
The Kush appears to be doing pretty well.
Thanks for the defoliating tips. I did some, and I think you can see the difference - the plants look more open.
Can possibly use some more, comments are welcome.
Sticking to twice a week Fox Farm feedings., and started one clone!
Cheers!
Update:
The Kush is doing well. I did some more thinning and spreading (using some wire spacers).
I did see some mites on the Wedding Cake plant, so I applied Azamax to everything and will continue to monitor and address.
As always, comments and suggestions are welcome!
Thanks!
John D.
The Kush plants are doing pretty well. Did another mite treatment with PyGanic, following up last weeks Azamax wash. Trying to keep the suckers under control.
Also did some more defoliating, trying to keep the light reaching into the canopy!
Gave a plant away, which will help with tight space, but hopefully will be heading into the home stretch soon!
Comments and suggestions welcome!
Cheers!

The Kush is rocking! Buds are filling out nicely and no sign of mites.
The close-ups are of the first three plants (in the tent with the Wedding Cake mother). The other two are about two weeks behind.
Cheers!

Hello grower friends!
The Kush is rocking. It definitely is a hardy and pretty easy to grow strain. I’ve grown it in the past and always have had great results.
The plants are rocking…the ones I turned to flower first are probably 4 weeks or so out from harvest now. Even the plant in the 5 gallon pot that got root locked early on is doing good, with very nice buds growing.
The two plants that are a couple weeks behind are doing well too.
Comments/suggestions always welcome!
Cheers,
JD
Greetings fellow growers!
Oh boy, the Kush is rocking and the first couple plants are getting close. Look at the closeups…the buds are fattening nicely and leaves changing to yellow and purple. Even the 5 gallon potted Kush (root locked) is displaying some nice buds. Starting to wInd down the nutes on these plants.
The ones a couple weeks behind are doing well too, and the little clone has or had a nutrient issue (some spotted leaves) but is growing out of it.
Cheers,
John D.
The weekly status of the Kush plants is pretty good.
Getting pretty close on the first three plants, and got two clones only two weeks or so behind. Buds are filling out nicely, it’s gonna be a nice harvest I think.
No more nutes to the three close plants, just PH corrected water as needed.
Happy growing friends!

I’ve grown Kush in the past and knew it was a pretty easy and hardy strain. I harvested 3 plants and the almost dry weight is 267 grams, I’m guessing about 9 ounces when more cured.
This Kush grow, along with the Wedding Cake diary, were my first grow cycles in over a year, and I definitely had some learning curve and other issues including mites, and I also caused several plants to root lock. Also, I just figured out last week my dehumidifier wasn’t working, and the humidity has been high and led to some minor bud rot.
All in all a decent grow, and the clones quickly maturing behind these are looking awesome. I will update later with more pics and a full review of the cured weed!
Cheers!
