2/6/22 Day1. This grow is my first experimental grow. I am planting two seeds, one ILGM Girl Scout Cookies Extreme Auto, and one Expert Seeds Blueberry Glue. They both went in the water on 2/3 and paper towel 2/4. GSCE had popped a tap root by the next day and was planted, and sprouted today. The BG has not popped but I put it in its nursery pot anyway - I have more of this strain in case this one fails.
I am setting up the 2x2 Mars tent I used to grow Lucy. I moved the oversized carbon filter to the 3x3 tens, and ordered the proper sized exhaust for this tent, but it is lost in the wilds of western PA and heavens knows when it's arriving. In the meantime, they are in the large tent with the triplet grow, and are getting about 9 DLI 18/6.
More photos as I take them. I will be expanding coco for their 3 gallon pots - using the rather intimidating list of amendments listed above. Hope I keep this all straight!
2/6 PM - New baby popped up tonight! She had a little hat hanging off one of her cotyledons, so I used my splinter tweezers to carefully coax it off, no trouble and she doesn't seem bothered by it. Took a few pics, put her dome back on, and back into the big tent until her final home is ready.
2/7/22 - Day 2 - She grew her first leaves visibly overnight. I took off her dome for a couple of hours - tent is at 70 degrees and 55 RH this morning. All seems well - still no sign of the BG. I'm giving the BG till the end of this week to show herself, and if not I'll drop another seed. Will prepare the coco today - it just didn't work out yesterday.
2/8/22 Day 3 - Expanded the coco yesterday, filled the pots and realized just now I didn't put in the Grow Dots! Oh well, no harm done, I'll mix them in today.
I set the tent up for them yesterday except for hanging the light because of course the filter placement turned into a comedy of errors. I ended up putting them both outside the tent. I'll get the light up, install the humidifier (though I may just have to go ahead and buy another one like the one in the big tent, having the hydrometer built in is a godsend!
I finally chose her name - meet Shirley Hemple! She's growing beautifully so far. I'm going to undome her for a while today and let her fully bask in the light. She's getting around 10 DLI currently.
Still nothing out of the Blueberry Dream, doggone it. Another couple of days and I'm going to assume it's a dud and drop a new one.
2/9/22 Day 4 - Last night, I delicately probed the soil in the Blueberry Dream cup. The seed has sprouted, so I gently recovered the sprout and am waiting for her to lift her head.
Shirley looks good this morning, she put some height on. I completed the set up for the small tent, and the pots are ready for them. I'll likely move them "next door" to their own tent as soon as BD pops her head up.
2/10/22 Day 5 - Well, finally finally - Blueberry Glue popped this morning - baby Slowpoke - and she's wearing a helmet! I'll give her a little bit of time to shed it herself, but she seems not in a hurry to do anything. She's well named, this one. Shirley is growing well, I measured wingspan this morning and she's almost matching her "sister" who is 5 days older. Good for you Shirley!
Then, like an idiot I knocked poor Shirley over. Fortunately, she didn't tumble out of the cup - just some coco - so I restored her and replaced the loosened coco. She seems fine but dog gone Fizzy!
2/11/22 Day 6 - I have parked them in their proper tent, their little cups sitting on their forever homes. Shirley looks just great! Baby Slowpoke, well, she's still making up her mind if she wants to be here. I increased their DLI to 12 - it's very cool in their tent - barely 70 degrees - and the RH is at 75. I ordered a new humidifier with hygrometer so I can dial it in better.
