For this grow I’m growing a single stardawg seed from FastBuds that came for free with my last order.
Germinating in a glass of water at room temp and then planting into pre soaked soil.
Soaked with a solution of water, neutralise, and biosys (microbe tea), and pH’d to 6.5 using organic ph down.
I’m at the end of week 2 of veg and, apart from the first set of leaves being a bit deformed for whatever reason, she’s doing great 👍
I’ll start with the nutrients etc next week
Well this grow has been catastrophic!
4 weeks in and she’s still tiny thanks to my little accident last week..
her leaves are damaged from heat and low humidity because I neglected to monitor conditions after I snapped her..
only time will tell whether she produces anything of reasonable quantity.
I’ve got my fingers crossed hoping that she’ll make a comeback and impress the shit out of me.
It’s the end of week 5 and she’s showing signs of recovery.
I definitely regret neglecting her but hopefully she’ll recover fully and grow fine.
Anyway, I began training this week and she seemed to get through it without any stress 🤞
She’s got new healthy growth, is looking a lot less dark, and no new deformation.
I’ve spotted a few pistils so I guess she’s ready to start stretching and gearing up for flower.
I restarted the training this week.
She’s about 2 weeks behind altogether…

(Took about another week to recover from the stress)
I don’t think I’ll get a big yield from this as she’s still quite small but fingers crossed eh?🤞

This stardawg is finally looking like a real cannabis plant lol.
I’m happy with the recovery so far! Although I’m not expecting a huge yield, at least I know I’ll be getting to experience some of FastBuds’ Stardawg genetics 😊😎
She’s bushed out a bit since training and is growing nicely.
I didn’t use veg nutes this week as the leaves are looking a bit dark and loaded.
There’s a smell coming from her already. Quite pungent 👃👌

Basically at the end of week 3 of flower. Question is, to defoliate or not to defoliate? She’s stunted by about 2 weeks already and I don’t think she’s going to stretch anymore… would she benefit from a light defoliation? A heavy one? Or would it be better to avoid it altogether?
hey there Dr Jones, unfortunately pruning the leafs off at this stage wont help it grow, it has all the leafs it needs to make flowers as it is. Remember that right now the plant is already making leafs as well as the tent gets much brighter when you close it than when it's open , there's hardly any shade there because the plant already has the correct shape (shape of a bush) . So roll with the punches and ride to the harvest. Hope this helps ! 🚀
She’s coming into full flower now.
I trained some more inner branches out and tucked a few bigger leaves on from the main colas to the side so they’re not covering the middle.
I’ve also had to raise the light because of my other plants in the tent.. she’s a dwarf lol.
I’ve learnt a valuable lesson about being careful while applying LST 😅

Another week goes by.. I cannot believe it’s the 10th week already!
She’s gaining weight a bit now so I upped the bloom dose slightly.
I might cut back next week though cos she’s got one or two burnt tips and some leaves are looking a bit glossy.
I also gave 0.2g /L of ecothrive biosys microbes in one of this weeks feeds.
I raised the light for the other plants again, so I raised this lady up onto a little stool to maintain a 45cm distance.

She’s slowly getting there.
Next week I’ll add more microbes and increase doses of nutrients/supplements again since some sugar leaves are showing yellow on the edges.. (pk def?)
She’s quite a dense little bush lol.
If I snap another plant in week 3 I won’t be continuing it like I did with this one!

Not long now..
I doubled top max and calmag doses this week since I think she could do with a boost now and I spotted a few calcium spots. I think she still needs about 3 weeks. Haven’t looked at trichs yet but the bud itself has very few matured/orange hairs. I’ll get some under a microscope sometime during next week.
I’m going to start flushing after I’m happy with the amount of milky trichomes. 🤞
Went away for a few days so bit of a late update for this week.
The buds are chunking up nicely and a lot of cloudy trichomes are popping up too. There’s still quite a lot of glassy ones however so I’ve decided to push the nutrients one more week before I start giving just plain water.
The smell is great but I have to be honest it doesn’t smell like any stardawg I’ve ever smoked.
I’m happy with the buds.
The trichomes are looking mostly cloudy with a few amber.
There’s still some glassy ones but I’m going to start giving plain water for the next week or so to ensure all the nutrients are used up while the buds finish fattening and maturing.

Other than my own mess up, this girl chunked out really well. It smells good but not like any stardawg I’ve smelled before. It’s absolutely caked in frost and should definitely be a good smoke. The whole plant has basically grown into one big bud due to its short and bushy structure! I’m keen to grow this again but I’ll do it different next time.
It’s been chopped and is now hanging to dry.
I lost one of the big colas to mould/bud rot.. I’m gutted!!
Other than that, the rest is good. Crazy frost and cloudy trichs with a danky surprisingly fruity smell very similar to the RQS Fat banana I grew last year.
Definitely looking forward to digging into some of these nugs.

Dr jones.. When they're in vegetation stage hi humidity and higher temperatures helps GREATLY then when flowering time drop temperature and lower humidity for better bud size an strength. Just a reminder lol..she is on the come back for sure dont forget calisum an magnesium with iron/sulfer.. Helps build strong cells.branches.helps with chlorophyll development and movement of chlorophyll...that will help her rebound even more solid..
@JamMAKEcan, problems arise when I take the humidifier away as I need to heat the tent during the colder months and that lowers humidity too. Without the humidifier, humidity reaches as low as 35% !!
If I turn the heater off too, humidity goes up to about 50%.. but then the temps go under 20C.. the outside weather has been quite cold and dry recently otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered with a heater or humidifier at all haha
@DrJones,.....what if you plug it out all together.. What would the natural humidity level be under 70 would be fine.. Then when flower stage start to come in put humidifier back in an start dropping humidity level back slowly to around 45 for rest of flower
Ahh my friend QUALITY yes quantity NO..she should produce her genetics as long as you keep up with tlc but she stunted as far as height/quantity..but her little buds going to be fire.. Have fun

I experienced something similar with a photo period-sage ‘n’ sours.I wanted to rip it out. It was even worse than yours. she finally gave me 15g of the most aromatic buds I've ever had.
