@daveHH, High temps are often a problem when you have smaller tents. The principle to lower the temps is straightforward: remove the hot air from the tent and replace it with cold air. However, in practice, that can be a challenge. Here are some things you can try: - Change the light cycle so that the light is off during the warmest part of the day. - Extract more air from the tent by running the extraction fan more frequently or upgrade to a larger fan if your fan is already running nonstop. - Lower the temps of the air coming into the tent by lowering the lung-room's temperature (that's the room where you keep your tent). In northern Europe, we rarely have AC, so all you can do is turn off the heating in the room and maybe open the window. You can even put an AC unit inside a larger tent, but that isn't practical with a small tent. I use all three methods to control the temps, but that isn't always enough, so I don't grow during the summer. It is just too hot.

@daveHH, First of all, don't panic! I know how overwhelming growing can be in the beginning. There is SO much to learn, and it is easy to overthink everything and constantly second-guess oneself. Also, keep in mind that not everything needs to be perfect. You will be amazed to see the amount of abuse the plants can take only to bounce back and produce quality bud. As for the light change, I would switch it from one day to the next. I've done that in the past and had no problems. Sure, the light cycle becomes weird for the plant, but I see little risk as it is for only one day. However, if you prefer to play it safe, move the time by one hour each day for 12 days. Don't stress about the size of your plants. They are only a few days old, and much can happen before the end. I planted one a week later in my current CBD grow. Now, many weeks later, she is by far the larger plant, by 40-50%. Also, there will always be variations from seed to seed. Planting next to the edge isn't something that I have tried, nor have I ever seen it. Sounds interesting, though, and something that could be useful when growing in smaller pots. Give it a go if you feel like it. One of the great things about this hobby is the different experiments to try. It is hard to estimate how much water you need since it depends on the humidity (both in air and medium), plants, temperature, fans, lights, etc. Also, with humidity domes, you will have less evaporation. In general though, the plants require very little water in the beginning. Don't stress with the light. You have at least four weeks of veg ahead of you, so there is plenty of time to decide what to do.
