daveHH So, this is probably my first entry. I hope everything goes well. I'm very open to suggestions and opinions! I germinated my seeds from the RQS starter kit and then transplanted them into the grow box in the 8L material pots after germination. Mars Hydro TS600 initially 60cm above the seedlings and now a bit closer… Temp at 22-25 degrees, humidity at 40-60%.

daveHH 2/3 Royal Runtz look very good and healthy. 1/3 only wanted to germinate very late and now looks stunted and is much smaller than the other 2. Critical is struggling and lagging behind as well. I don't know if I can give root booster to the two RR that are developing well already? They're all currently getting just 18ml of water every day, do you think that's enough? I want to try LST on one of the well-developed RRs and that's why I want to place another one at the edge of the pot so I can bend it across the entire width of the pot. What do you think? Should I buy a second Mars Hydro TS600 for a later time? I'm afraid that one won't be enough... Let's see how the next few days go. Please keep your fingers crossed! :)

daveHH 3 out of 4 plants look pretty good. The first leaf pair on RR#2 seems a bit weak, but the next leaves look healthy. I only mixed a bit of Bio-Grow into the water once, 0.5ml per 1 liter of water, and watered. Other than that, I just give 40ml of water every other day. I keep the humidity at 65-80%, in the pictures it was higher because I turn on the humidifier in the morning and then adjust it. RR#3 has looked stunted from the start, unfortunately looks like a bad seed, and I know nothing will come from her, but I’m still keeping her in the tent. Critical had some difficulties at first, but now looks very healthy, which makes me happy. I set the distance of the Mars Hydro TS600 to 36cm and hope that’s not too close, what do you think? I’d appreciate any advice, thanks in advance! I hope to have two anodines next week… Keep your fingers crossed.

The first pair of leaves is hanging down a bit and doesn't look healthy. Is it due to the distance of the lamp? I've been watering 40ml every other day only when the soil was completely dry up to 3cm deep. Humidity is at 65-80%. Please help. :)

daveHH The week went perfectly. The plants are developing great. One RR flew out of the tent because it was stunted. Currently, I have 2x Royal Runtz and 1x Critical in the tent. Now I have more space for my plants and I want to apply topping at the end of next week on all three plants. Right now, you can see 4 nodes; I'm waiting until you can see at least 6 nodes and then I plan to top above the 4th node. Or do you think I should wait longer? This week, I will also add 1ml/L BioGrow with every second watering. I'm currently watering every other day with 100ml per plant.

All depends what your goal is with topping. Think thru what you’re trying to achieve. I top around this time. I remove bottom node entirely as it’s weak 9/10 times. Then I’ll top at 5 and keep node 2,3,4. Then I top each again in time and end up with about 12 main colas

Is my Royal Runtz getting too little water? What do you think? They all get the same amount of water, but I suspect that 150ml of water every two days might not be enough for her?

daveHH On day 20, I topped both Royal Runtz above the 4th internode. Critical has grown very low and bushy, so I don't plan to top or train her at all. After that, I had to be away for 3 days and left the plants alone; luckily, they managed to survive somewhat thanks to "Big-Drippa." When I got back, they were already very weak and everything was drooping. I watered them directly with about 400ml and applied LST on day 23. I feel like the Royals are somehow too tall, and the LST looks a bit strange, but we'll see what comes of it. I also don't know if I defoliated too much... I think the big leaves were providing too much shade.

If you want everything the same height you should let the bottom catch up to the top. Defoliation is fine. You are a little high with nitrogen in the diet. Best of luck the rest of the way.

What @Tubington9 says is true, and those claws are due to nitrogen toxicity. In your diary, I saw that you are watering with 2ml of biogrow; I think you should stop using it for a couple of waterings and wait for it to recover.

daveHH I think the plants have recovered really well from the defoliation, topping, and LST. They are bright green again because I only watered them after you all told me that the leaves were too dark green. Now they look very healthy, in my opinion. I'm trying to get them all to the same height with the help of LST; let's see if I succeed. Critical was neither topped nor trained - I'm letting her grow naturally because she seems to be very short and bushy. I hope next week I can set up a net in the tent and bring all the strains to the same height. Both Royal Runtz were topped; one RR was topped a second time lower down afterwards, and it didn't harm her at all.

daveHH This week I had to flush a Royal Runtz, which caused it to be overwatered for a day, but it recovered quickly. It's getting really tight in the tent, what do you think? Otherwise, on day 36, I defoliated vigorously again and I'm trying to bring the soil level up to the same height as the top branches, applying LST every 2-3 days. At the moment, I'm not using any nutrients because I feel like the plants are doing well with just plain water. Maybe I'll add 1ml/L of BioGrow during the next watering.

Do I need a bigger Growtent? At this moment my tent is 40x80x120cm. It’s too small for my 3 ladies, isn’t it? I thought about a tent 60x60x160 or 80x80x180cm. I think one of those should be ok for flowering my 3 ladies. Having 2x Mars Hydro TS600 now, should be enough for flower

Hey there Dave, i have to disagree with my growmies on this one : you actually have Nitrogen Lock-out , not deficiency, this you can see from the "very dark green color" on some plants, the burnt leaf times, the yellowing starting at the bottom of the plant with the oldest leafs first and moving up. So basically i think your nutrient solution was just too strong in N . The good news is that you're already doing the right thing with watering with plain water right now. Keep a plain water, plain water, feed, plain water, plain water, feed, schedule going forward. One problem you're going to start having soon is cal mag deficiency, just re-include it when you're ready to feed again to prevent any issues. Hope this helps ! 🚀

Hi mate, For fertilizer problems all you have to do is a runoff test. Measure the EC in plain water(typically between 50-150 PPM) and water the plant with problems. Collect the runoff water from the tray and measure the EC again. I've seen some growers reading 6000 PPM(EC 12) from the runoff and that means your plants roots are almost burning :) If you read something below 400-500 PPM then you are feeding at the proper dosage. In this case there can be a problem with the fertilizer ratios but for %99 times people overfeed their plants. Focus on the first scenario for now. Let me know what you read when testing the runoff water with an EC meter. Hope these will help.

Hey DaveHH, When looking at you diary and where thoose leafs came from you should be perfecly fine. Your mid and upper leafs are perfectly green. Plants like to do that do absorb lower leafs. She kind of did the work for you to be honnest haha, most of the growers like to remove the lower leafs to get more air into the plant and since these are in the shadow, they are kind of useless besides that your plant will absorb the nutrients from those leafs like she did. But another thing, at other pictures from the other plants that are light green, this is more a problem. Did you just waterd her when you took thoose pictures? because your soil looks really wet, if not you have been overwatering them, which results into shutdown and (N)itrogen deficiency resulting in lightgreen leafs. Make sure you only give them water when they feel(by lifting them up, and put your finger in the soil) and look dry. If she stays wet ater 3 days, you most definitely overwater her. Good luck growing :)

Yes you should since your plant already doing that herself haha :) You can eighter let her do it and she will take the nutrients out of those leafs, just pick up the leafs when they fall off. or you do it yourself. The benefits can be like your plant can get more air beneeth, and more energy will be given to upper colas + more. Good luck growing :)

I'm growing for the first time in my life, and I'm in the second week of flowering. On English sites, growers say that the perfect temperature for flowering is around 84-85 Fahrenheit, which is about 29 degrees. Do you see it the same way?

Not really. Depends on your grow set up and how you intent to water it for example. High temps mean you must have real good extraction good airflow and more watering. If you can afford this high maintenance and have strains that do well in hot climates you can manage if not best to have lower temps like 22ºC-27ºC. Root temps cannot drop below 15 to work but above 23 you get the risk of root rot much easily. Hope this helps. Feel free to use the chat for further help ;)

you are not giving them any grow nutrients? you know what fuck the temps, dont use that cooler because it raises your rh too much, under leds 29-30C is just fine. keep feeding as you were but also add grow nutrients at the same ratio as the bloom. plants use a lot of nitrogen in every stage of growth. something like 2-8-6 cant sustain a plant. thats too much phosporus and not enough N and K. at least shoot for a 1-1-1 ratio between N-P-K.

Well with most autos you need from 45-60 days of flowering. So go back over your pics but all I can see is 3 weeks of flowering. I haven't gone through your pics but as soon as she starts throwing of stigma, (pistils) you start counting the flower days Most autos will take anywhere with the very quick ones been done in 35-45Days. But with RQS they usually take 6-8 weeks of flowering. They are more long haul auto well most of the seeds guidelines I've seen they are some of the longest (rated) But you are aways from being done. 3-4 weeks i reckon then cut your feed and let her ride it out. You want 90-95% cloudy trichomes and cut her and hang dry her whole (but again, you are aways yet) Ask again in about the time I stated or if you don't wanna ask another Q feel free to DM the ppl that reply here. (Me included if you like) more than happy to talk turkey But yeah my man, you have 4 weeks left under your lights at least. Good luck

You "can" but is it worth it? that answer may be out there with proper research... certainly can't guess about it without understanding how much production is lost in a more resolved way when you remove so many fan leaves. Various biological processes need the products of photosynthesis for plant growth... so, taking that away will at some point have a negative effect. it can't grow without those sugars and the energy they contain to power endothermic reactions necessary to build structures, organelles, etc etc... . bud density pistil coloration trichome coloration (on calyxes, and ignore the trichomes on the leaves) all three of these are great ways to be consistent about when you harvest. you may be at beginning of window... after that it's all about personal preference.. the longer it goes th e more of a sedative effect degradated THC (no longer "d-9-THC," but simpler to say this way) will cause when smoked.

This one doesn't look quite ready, imho... but here's the thing - it's all in what YOU want out of the smoke... if you harvest when the trichs are milky (they're still pretty clear), you'll get a more cerebral high... if you wait until there are about 20-30% amber trichs, you get a high that's well-balanced between cerebral and body ... and if you wait for mostly amber trichs, you first of all lose a lot of THC and secondly will get couch lock .... so it all depends on your preferences... Good luck!
