Fit for a king.

I am not very satisfied with my abilities in growing Sativas. I haven't had much luck with them. I just harvested this strain from my last grow and want to give it another try. this time I am going to use a 7 gallon fabric pot and do very little in the way of training. I'm only growing the one plant so I can give her my full attention and stick to defoliation only. I need to learn how Sativa's grow. I find them very challenging and I really want to develope a good technique. I plan on letting this girl veg for at least 3 months. So buckle up, it's gonna be a long ride.

not much to put down this week. she is still just a baby. She shot up out of the ground pretty quick and stretched a little. had to lower the lights and put her on a pedestal.

I just planted her in her final home. A big 7 gallon fabric pot. Nothing too exciting. I expect to begin feeding her by next week. so far al she has been given is plain water.

I gave her the first feeding this morning. She is looking pretty happy. I don't have AC so I am having difficulty keeping the temps down in the tent. There are times in the day when my grow room reaches the high 80's. My swamp cooler just can't cope with 100 degree temps. No big deal. I won't flower for another 2 months. By then the temps will have dropped well enough for good bud conditions.

She has kicked into full veg mode. She has doubled in size over the last week. I may not be able to veg this for 3 months like I originally intended due to the lack of space available. So, I guess we'll just wing it and see what happens. Once the plant reaches 18 inches, I have to switch it to flower, The last King Tut grew 2 x her height during the first 3 weeks of flower. Three feet is about my limit in this tent.

Another good week of growth. She has reached 8 inches and is filling out nicely. no sign of maturity yet. I had to back off on the nitrogen supplements. She was looking a little uncomfortable. I will resume with nitrogen when her leaves perk back up and are no longer waxy looking.

Calyxes have shown and the plant is now ready to flower. I am not going to for another month or so. There are some strange deformities in some of the leaves. Trying to nail down the cause at the moment.

Not much to report. Another solid week of growth. I FIM'ed the top of her about 10 days ago and I managed to get 4 nice little cola spots out of it. This beast is bushing out like crazy. I plan on clearing out a lot of the leaves before flower. You have to with this strain because she just grows a ton of side branches that choke out bud growth if you don't.

So, she is 20 inches now. I can't go the 3 month veg I wanted to. She will have to be flipped to 12/12 or I will run out of space by the end of stretch. She looks healthy, No sign of deficiencies or pests. I have started the transition into flower nutrients and flipped her to 12/12 last Sunday. By this sunday I believe she will have made the full transition to flowering.

First week of flower and we are getting our first little button buds. Not a whole lot of stretch going on. She looks very healthy and happy. I started adding liquid KoolBloom to her feedings and have started weaning her off the FloraGro. I guess I could have gone another couple of weeks in veg with this one. Oh well. Lesson learned. My setup doesn't really encourage huge growth spurts. LEDs seem to keep these plants short and bushy.

Second week of flower and I think the stretch is almost done. She didn't grow like I had read in other websites. I did not see a 2 to 3 times growth in flower. I'm guessing this has to do with the lights. I may consider getting stronger LEDs. However, my harvests are enough to sustain my medication needs so I really shouldn't complain. I'm a tinkerer though. I like to make improvements. This week seems to be solid. No problems with the plant and the buds are starting to fill out. looking forward to watching her develope!

She is looking pretty healthy! The leaves are bright green with no noticeable defects. She has stopped stretching. The buds are starting to fill out and frost over nicely. The smell is fantastic. Like a sweet flowery scent with a hint of citrus and pine when you shake her colas. I don't want to jinx it but I may have found what makes this plant happy. A nice big cloth pot and plenty of room all to herself. I think from now on I will just stick to one plant at a time. That way I can devote all my attention to them.

Not a whole lot of change. The buds are putting on a lot of frost and the hairs are starting to turn amber. Haven't bothered to look at the trichomes. I will probably do that around week 6. Other than that, just waiting to see how she finishes out. The 7 gallon pot is difficult to keep moist all the time. I have been having to water her every 2 days. The plant drinks about a gallon of water every other day. I have really low humidity issues, the desert air is about 20% humidity right now. It's a little late in the game to fix that though. I will have to invest in a humidifier, my last one broke after a year of heavy use.

One week closer to harvest and her leaves are starting to change color. The temps at night are dropping into the 60's (min = 66 F). I also reduced the amount of light she gets to 10 hours instead of 12. The last two weeks of flower she will have her daylight reduced again to 8 on and 16 off. I hear this is supposed to make the plant think it is nearing the end of the season and tricks it into producing more bud and resin. So, I am trying this theory out and looking for results. I also have started to wean her off the nutes. She only gets fed every other watering. Next week she will begin her two week flush. I am hoping she finishes in the next 3 to 4 weeks.

I have cut off her feedings and am just giving her plain water. The leaves are turning purple and yellow and her trichomes are about 10% amber. I will be flushing for the next week or two before I harvest her. I will be keeping an eye on the trichs and decide in the next week when to harvest.

Don't expect this plant to grow thick dense colas. It's mostly Sativa dom. It just doesn't have those kind of genetics. She grows well in a big fabric pot with very little training. The only training I did with this plant is I FIM'd the top after about 10 nodes and that's it. Just to keep her from scraping the top of my tent. Just let her grow and she'll reward you for it. Once you make the flip to 12/12, strip every damn leaf and offshoot up to the top 2 nodes on every branch. When she hits flower she grows A TON of leaves and offshoots. She bushes out hard. So starting the flower stage with almost a bare plant will give you plenty of room to grow and keep plenty of light reaching lower buds throughout flower. She has a very sweet scent. Like fruit and candy with a citrus tang to it. Reminds me of oranges and lemon drops. Will add smoke report in 3 weeks.00
