Tents up, all new supplies, ran her for a couple days to see what temps would be like, I’m in Central Cali and the days have been hot 108+, evening’s been nice 65, Ive set it up in my garage on slab foundation stay pretty cool in there. Exhaust out the window, the in evening time to get the temp down been putting the intake up to the other side of the window. Water temp staying around 74 to 79. 1st purple haze just showed up this morning, waiting on the 2nd imagaine she’ll come up in the next 24hr’s.
Going into 2nd week, added a little bit of nutrient, not much. At the 13 day for the one in the red rock the other 15th day. Added Exhale Co2 bag the other day. Just put the last of the 1st advanced nutrients bottle in i mixed up the other day. I have noticed the blue bucket has consistently been 3’ warmer then the black bucket. New black bucket on order should be here tomorrow.
Hi @Bub1972! In hydro setups, the reservoir needs to be fully changed/refreshed every week. Indeed, you can make some daily adjustments (pH up/down to stick in the right pH range) but don't change the water more than once a week, it's going to stress your babies. Now about the nutrients, you can start from week 2, once roots has developed and the seedlings are a few centimeters above the ground. I'd recommend to start with 1/4 or 1/2 of the recommended doses, then you'll see how your plants reacts and you'll be able to increase the nutrients intakes slowly but safely. Just starting the 3rd week, I’m at 1/2 strength on the nutrients, will be changing water and nutrients every Saturday. Looking good. Roots coming thru. So far so good coming into second weekend of clean water and more food on Saturday. Really starting to get full. 8/18 Fresh water and nutrients today and both topped. Finishing out the 3rd week all topped and ready to bush out.
Just coming up on 4th week. Just topped 2 days ago starting to really bush out. Still looking good, temps here are coming down so a little easier to keep the right temp in the tent. 8/25 really starting to bush up very healthy looking main stalk. Tomorrow is feeding day. Saturday 25th Aug. fresh water and food. Look at that stalk. Really looking good. I topped a few more side shoots. Monday the 27th grown 3 inches in 2 days.
Exactly start of 5th week. Really looking good, temp is awesome right now here on the central coast very mild heat in the day and cool 50’s in the night. Watering day and nutrient. Looks like about 1 1/2 was gone from last Saturday. Only put 1 gal in today’s possibly start changing water every 4 days instead of 7. Will keep posted. Happy birthday to my beautiful wife. Added 1/2gl of water to each today mixed with Sensi bloom.
Looks like you’re ready to flip to 12/12 now. But you could keep them in veg longer if you want larger plants. At this point it’s up to you. Looking very nice btw. Well done so far. 👍
Week six this will be the 1st full week on 12’s plants are looking really heathy. Feeding lots of water she drinking tons. I’m going to be too tall for this tent. 9/8 really filling out. My tent might be too small for 2 plants running out of room. Gonna get interesting next couple of weeks. Was able to get the lights higher only so the plants can grow taller. Lol, White pistols are coming out all over the place
Start of 7th week,, a little burn on the top of the front one. Raised the light farther up, almost topped out on the front one, I’m thinking i should just order a taller tent at this point. Buds are forming and nice little hairs coming out 9/15. Found some leaf curl when I got home today from work found out the stone was plugged. Fresh water and went with half nutrients this time see how she comes back. On a bummer note I broke a top off. Total rookie move. 9/16 fresh water last night went easy on the nutrients for both put a new air stone in been a day still hasn’t perked back up yet. 9/21 one looks great still, the other isn’t pulling thru st all. At this point need some help on what to do with it. Looking like a total loss.9/22 Fresh water/nutrient day I went ahead and trimmed off the dead looking leaves and tops on 2nd plant see if any life comes back.
8th week was a crazy week, almost lost one of the plants after coming home from work and seeing it curled up, air stone had plugged and stopped working for close to 12 hours, plus it was close to light, just a terrible ordeal. Other plant is still looking great and really blooming nicely.
11th week. Starting to get that purple hue in most of the buds. SMElls really sweet., added Overdrive nutrients this week, do that for the next week maybe week and half, the start flushing. 10/15 smell has really picked up. Buds are thickening up very nicely. LIGHT purple hue to all the buds now.
Looking great smelling even better. Winding down on the nutrients here real soon. Probably start flushing here in the week not sure maybe that will be by next question. Trimming up
I’ve always been told that when all the hairs have turn colors that’s when you should harvest. I’m low on funds so I can’t buy any fancy ultra powered camera. When is the best time to cut?
Hello ! The best time is based on the trichomes , the hairs is an old school method assuming that when all the hairs are brown then the plant is ready ( can be true but can be false , depending on the strain) , because when all the pistils are brown and the plant doesn not seems to produce more you can assume that the plant will not make bigger bud but you can have a 50% amber trichomes ratio with that method which mean every puff will be more narcotic than ever. Like @hltrskltr told you you should buy a magnifier , for less than 10$ on amazone or ebay. I hope it will help you 😁👍
Went real good, trimmed up nice, still has nice size to the top kolas, lots of purple mixed in, I’m really loving the purple haze. Smoke smells sweet and taste great, goes down real smooth.
Thanks you guys for the help. Yes i was trying to get away without having to buy anything, this time I just winged it and cut when my gut felt it was right, i will invest in something in their future to accurately call it trim time. Buds are nice and purple and drying slowly. This is my 5th plant to trim and man i am pretty much over trimming this thing. Can’t wait to puff on this one though.
When growing hydroponics you should change the water and nutrients weekly. Your nutrients should have a feeding schedule for each week or each stage of development. But in hydro you should really be feeding nutrients each week until you are ready to flush before harvesting. Good luck!👍

@Centipede, I went up to a 48x48x84 tall. One of my plants the air stone clog up and stopped blowing bubbles. Dang thing curled up and wilted on me. I put a new stone on and clean the water went with half nutrients. Hopefully it will come back. Other one still looks great.
Hello bro , if your phones have a "macro mode" then you can watch at the trichomes without buying anything , maybe a friend of yours have such a mode with his smartphone that you can borrow to chek
@OutForReal, bless your heart... the best is to look at my pics at 30x and see for yourself... or try to take a picture yourself and see ... or read anything ever written about it ... or just compare 30/35x and 70x yourself ... as the famous american philosopher ice cube said "check yourself" ! I dont know why you're selling the 2011 S3's macro mode when the magnification is 2x but ... i wont buy one today no thanks

How are you getting away with your LED being only 8 inches from the plant. I had my LED at 10" and it almost burned the plant. My lights uses 10W LEDs but I still keep it about 18" above.
@CommanderCannabis, I just double checked the top kola is only 6 inches from the led the rest our 9 to 10 inches away. I’m Running a 800w and a 450. I could not tell you why it hasn’t burned it but it hasn’t. My only issue was when one of my stones clogged and stop producing bubbles for almost 12 hours. Now I always keep extras.
@Centipede,you know what I’m just going with it right now. Right now I’m just concentrating on keeping the right temps and perfect amount of nutirents going.
i just wanted to say that i change the water EVERY 72 hours while in pre veg and then i do EVERY 48 .....................................and i dont ph or feed or shit in between....................and flush is every 24 hours........................but it is just old me.................................
hey man looks like you're confusing pistils with trychomes. those little hairs turn brown, depends on the strain how they ripen, but when you cut your plant down they all turn brown anyway. Only way to really tell for the trykomes is to get a 70x magnifier, and you'll see them. When they rippen they turn milky / cloudy. You cant really see them even with 30x , i got a portable 70x microscope for 1.79 including delivery. Take a look, once the trykes have started to turn amber, they are oxidised and you're days away from the chop. make sure you check all up and down your plant to see how well they're doing, they can turn milky overnight ! hope this helps ! 🚀
