Extra growth appearing at nodes, with more roots looking to descend into reservoir. Slight tinting of roots, but comfortable this is due to the addition of nutrients rather than onset of rot. 22/08 - Nutes bumped by an additional 12ml, putting the res at roughly 2ml per gallon as per suggestion. Humidity bumped to 65%. [640PPM - .91 EC - 5.8PH] 24/08 - Micro + Grow increased by an additional 4ml each. Puts Micro + Grow at 20ml, Bloom at 16ml. [670PPM - .96 EC - 5.8PH] 25/08 - Getting a little concerned that shes a bit short, so I've raised the light a couple of inches to try and induce a little stretch so she can be properly LST'd. I also feel I buried the root riot too low initially and a lot of her stem is actually under the hydroton. New growth seems healthy enough, while the old growth is beginning to yellow. PH and EH have remained stable, but she appears to be drinking. [780 PPM - 1.12 EC - 5.5 PH] 26/08 - Full Res change in prep for week 3. Gone with 17.5ml Silica, 30ml Micro, 20ml Grow, 10ml Bloom to 40l of water in resevoir.

Hi all! Brown spots are starting to form on the old leaf tips of this young lady. I've had contradictory suggestions as to wether this is nute burn or a deficiency. Nutes were started on d12. EC has been stable at .51 (PPM 360) for the last 5 days along with PH at 5.8. Cheers.

You’re gonna wanna crank them nutes a bit more. 0.5 EC just isn’t gonna cut it as your plant starts aggressive Veg growth in DWC. I see possibly a few deficiencies just beginning. I use flora trio regularly. Id probably be around at least 2-3 mL per gallon of each right now.

27/08 - Responding well to latest LST, so tried a bit of supporting leaf tucking. PH has gone up to 5.6, EC remains at 1.12. Light at 16". Noticing a couple of brown spots appearing mid leaf which I will investigate. Dropped res as some fedback saying she looks overwatered. Now roughly a 2 1/2 inch gap between the bottom of the pot and the water level. 28/08 - Tried some more aggressive LST and leaf tucking. PH somewhere between 5.6/7, EC 1.11/2. Ended up with some leaf burn due to trapped moisture being exposed to the light due to my faffing about, so going to try and touch her a bit less. Roots seem healthier after dropping res level, leaves seem a tad perkier? 29/08 - EC seems to be rising, PH stable. Water level seems to be dropping, but need to figure out a way to measure it. Found out whats causing the water droplet burns, and it turned out to be me being an idiot and using a used pipette to aid with leaf tucking smaller leaves. Though the pipette was empty small moisture droplets were falling out of the end. Bit of a growth spurt over night, planning to be more aggressive with LST and tucking for the week. 30/08 - EC dropped to 1.10-ish, manually raised PH to 5.8 as its been stable the past few days. Res seems to be lowering still, may top up tomorrow. Pushing the LST a few times a day to try and spread the growth a little as shes getting very bushy. 31/08 - EC dropped to 1.08, PH still stable at 5.8. Res dropped another 1/4 inch. LST again to try and spread the canopy now I'm getting some length. Topped off with 6l of nute water at the same ml/g. Going to try sticking at 2inch gap below net pot. 01/09 - EC dropped to 1.04-ish with the nute water top up. PH stable at 5.8, no change in water level overnight. She definately seems to be on a bit of a growth spurt at the moment, and Im trying to spread her out a bit with some heavy LST. Shes very bushy at and Im debating a bit of defoliation as moisture is getting trapped between leaves, but dont want to overstress. 02/09 - Ec Dropped to 1.01-ish. PH Stable at 5.8, water level dropping. Will try a higher nute dose next res change.

I've just noticed some brown spotting on some older fan leaves. New growth seems fine. Calcium deficiency? Flora trio with silica on tap water, res change yesterday. Brown spots were visible before res change but less noticable. Should I wait and see or calmag? PH 5.6, EC 1.12

High Bobalo, There is nothing to worry about. I do not see any signs that is caused by any deficiency whatsoever. Your EC and pH are in the right range and I would not change anything about the nutrients for now! Happy Growing! 😋

Keen to know thoughts on my current LST. Shes grown quite short and bushy so its been quite difficult to keep the canopy even. Any suggestions on how I could do it better? Also wondering if people would recommend a defoliation, shes on a growth spurt atm and getting cluttered.

You know, it's not required that you keep your canopy level and at the same height... and it's silly to think that only GOOD growers do it this way! The whole point of LST is to get the secondary bud sites out away from the main stem so they can get more light.... if the plant ends up looking like a Christmas tree or a giant green, flat pillow, either is ok! Keeping the canopy even is a technique called SCROG.. for this, you need netting - so don't worry about it! As for defoliation, I've recently run across an article that is now included in my "bible" for all my grows... it tells you WHY, HOW and WHEN ... and backs it all up with the reasons and it's brilliant.... I'll give you the link - I think you will find it PERFECTLY timed for where you are in your grow (which looks great, btw!) https://www.growweedeasy.com/nebulas-super-simple-3-step-defoliation-tutorial Good luck!

04/09 - Started minor defoliation. Shes getting too bushy and blocking bud sites and causing moisture spots. Will remove a couple of leaves every other day for the next week. 05/09 - Full res change. Realised I mucked up the ratio. Went 35ml Micro, 25ml grow, (Shouldve been the other way around, so added an extra 10ml grow), 15ml Bloom and 15ml Silica. EC 1.4, PH 5.7. Will keep an eye on her and add some additional grow if she does alright. 06/09 - Minor defoliation. Removed about 12 leaves total so far. LST to spread the canopy a little more. PH stable at 5.8, EC at 1.4, Water level dropping. Seems to be stretching and pistils have begun to form! Responding well to the uptick in nutes from the res change. 07/09 - Leaf tucking, LST and took a leaf or two. Shes getting her stretch on for sure. PH stable at 5.8, EC stable at 1.4. Water level still dropping. 09/09 - After much deliberation, I ended up going for a fairly heavy defoliation session and am now going to leave her the hell alone until at least mid flower. I removed a large chunk of shaded leaves and bud sites and effectively ended up lollipopping her. I also removed all the old LST, and added a couple to pull leaves out of the way. The canopy remains largely unchanged, but shes much more airy now, and Im seeing far fewer damp spots where leaf perspiration has occured. Now to see if I can keep my hands off for a few weeks!

10/09 - Topped up with nute water at the same nute ratios as previously. Added 11ml Cal-Mag due to a bit of leaf yellowing. 11/09 - Little bit of nute burn. Res change in a few days so will leave her to run for now. 12/09 - PH, EC, WL dropping. 3 more days till res change. May go early depending on how readings are tomorrow. Snipped a few more leaves and bud sites even though I said Id leave her alone. Canopy is very dense. 13/09 - PH dropped considerably, EC more or less stable. Added some PH up to see her through to thursday for a res change. 14/09 - Full res change. 15ml Silica, 25ml Micro, 35ml Grow, 15ml Bloom. PH 5.9, EC 1.3. Shes getting very bushy again and my urge to defoliate is getting stronger. Ended up taking 14 leaves or so to open her up a bit. 16/09 - PH dropping a little, EC stable, water level dropping. Took a couple leaves again and leaf tucked. Trying to be hands off as much as possible while she stretches.

17/09 - PH dropped overnight. Bumped back up to 5.8. EC 1.2, water level dropping. Might top off with higher nute dose tomorrow. D10 since pistills. Dehumidifer should be arriving early next week. 18/09 - PH dropped slightly overnight, EC considerably. Topped off with nute water at standard ratio but with added 3ml of calmag. PH now around 6, EC 1.2ish. 19/09 - PH stable at 6.0. EC 1.17, water level dropping. Was worried about last night, but she perked back up again this morning. Defoliated 15 leaves or so and noticed a branch with a wilting top. Going to keep an eye, but dont really want to chop at this stage unless absolutely neccessary. 20/09 - PH dropped to 5.9, EC to 1.07 morning, 5.8, .97 evening. Water level continues to drop. Leaves on problematic branch further wilted, but branch is strong. Chopped wilting leaves to see what happens. Defoliated 20 or so problematic leaves. Trying to gradually open her up a bit but avoiding stems so she doesnt get a nasty shock once the stretch finishes. 21/09 - Res top up at standard ratio with 3ml calmag. Roughly 10l drank over 3 days. PH now around 6, EC 1.1ish. Dehumidifer now running outside the tent, but humidity is still around 70%. Contuning to defoliate around 15 leaves a day where theyre clumping / blocking sites.

Perfectly normal, this is how you know your plant got enough light today, it’s just shutting down for the day and ready for sleep. Check again in the morning and it will be all perked up ready to go. Looks great! Plants will often shut down in the last hour if your maxing out it’s DLI

Hi there It could just be lack of light its very dense and could do with a good bit of defoliation if photopieroid, Leafs will yellow and deteriorate if they get poor light, Also doesn’t seem much air flow fan wise? You want a bit of air pushing through it will give you more stronger branches/structure, Personally I would try to thin it out about witch would give better light lower down and better air flow, Best of luck 🌱

I like to go full bloom a couple days after the 12/12 switch, but with an auto, when you start to see bud sites start. Ask what are you adding/changing when you switch to bloom? More P and K and a touch less N. The plants start to need more P at around week 2 of flower until 5-6. Then they switch to a more K based feed. The plants still need a good amount of nitrogen and calcium (especially early flower). Your plant looks like it might have a slight P issue, some red stems and the lowers are a little blue/greyish. Hard to tell with the lighting. Not bad at all though. I wouldn't stress about it and make the change when you do your next res change or on your top offs, use your flower feed schedule. My only other suggestion would be to do a little defoliation in the middle and the lowers to help air flow and increase top bud site production. Good luck!

24/09 - D17 since pistills. Busy day today. Full res change, with nutes modified to transition to bloom for the next couple of days before I bump her to full dose bloom 3 weeks from pistills showing. Also did some heavy defoliation. Started chopping with the intent of taking a few, but concerns around humidty levels have been in the back of my mind for awhile and given I was all geared up in the tent anyway I went to town. Removed a couple of weaker branches that were interfering with other sites, and took a large amount of lengthy and inward facing leaves. Walked away and came back and the difference was quite shocking (first grow!), but she looks better for it. Flowers are now exposed to light, and areas where moisture can get trapped have been dramatically reduced if not eliminated. Hopefully she responds well to her new haircut. Also came across my guard spider while sweeping out some leaves that fell behind the res, not sure what hes eating in there, maybe he just likes the smell! EC: 1.27, PH 5.8. 25/09 - Managed to get humidity down to 55 after the defoiation and leaving the door of the tent open. She seems to be happy after her haircut. PH dropping slowly at 5.7, EC stable at 1.27, water dropping. 26/09 - Small spot of PM on one sugar and one fan leaf. Wiped clean with a wet tissue and trimmed off. Will spray with diluted milk mixture at lights out and keep my eyes open for further infection. Modified setup a bit to try and bring the humidty down further and increase air flow, but struggling to get it below 55% even with a humidifer in the tent and the fan ramped up to max. Going to do a res change with full bloom nutes tomorrow so as not to prolong this grow longer than needs be. 27/09 - Full Res change to bloom nutes. 35ml Micr, 6ml Grow, 45ml Bloom. No new spots of PM seen, continuing with minor trimming when I spot any touching leaves as a preventative. RH finally pulled down into the 40's, and then my fan broke. Time to buy a new one. 28/09 - PH stable at 5.8, EC at 1.27. Going to try and leave well alone from this point forward unless issues arise or I see damp spots forming. Humidty finally down to 40%. 29/09 - PH and EC dropping. Topped off res with 8l of water at 50%. 13ml Micro, 3ml Grow, 20ml Bloom. PH 6.0, EC 1.3ish. 30/09 - PH 5.8, EC 1.17. Continuing to trim a couple of leaves here and there when I spot an overlap or blockage and pinch off tiny bud shoots below the canopy.

Whoa now, hold the phone. You don't need to chop anything! Potassium bicarbonate, a drop of Castile soap(I use peppermint scent), and water. If you don't have potassium bicarbonate, you can use baking soda. I, personally, use potassium bicarbonate or Amazing Dr. Zymes. You can get a couple samples of Dr. Zymes if you are willing to pay the for shipping. It makes two gallons. Here's the link: www.doctorzymes.com/wizard I hope this helps.

01/10 - EC and PH Stable. Leaving her be. New fans should be here shortly with any luck. 03/10 - Res top off at 20ml Bloom and 10ml Micro. New fans arrived and have been set up. Unfortunately while advertised as being able to clip onto bars, the clips are not suitable at all for that purpose so theyve had to be put in spaces where oscillation is not possible. 05/10 - PH dropped last night, so bumped it a bit. PH stable now around 5.9 atm ready for a full res change tomorrow. (D10). Shes looking healthy and getting sticky on touch. I'm continuing to clean up awkward inward facing and overlapping leaves a little at a time to open her up a touch. Humidty much more acceptable, and the tent has been able to be closed again so the environment should be more stable and the smell better contained. 06/10 - Full res change at 50%. 40ml Micro, 10ml Grow, 55ml Bloom. Took the opportunity to get to the back of the tent as best I could. Youd think these tents would have a door on the front and back. Defoliated some leaves with particularly long stems and a bit of bunched up mass from within the plant. 07/10 - PH 6.0, EC 1.5. Water level dropping quickly.

08/10 - 10l nute water top up, then I noticed her leaves had some spotting which identified as nitrogen toxicity. Dumped the res, ran clean ph water for a couple hours, dumped that res and then refilled at 32% strength. 25ml Micro, 4ml Grow, 35ml Bloom. Will see how she does. 09/10 - PH bumped to 5.8. 10/10 - PH has been plummiting, but I think my pens busted. Ordered a new one next day. Topped off with 8l of water at 40%. 11/10 - PH pen was indeed busted. New one just arrived and PH was around 4.7. I've now bumped it back up to 5.8. 13/10 - Full Res Change. Ran ph water for 3h to try and flush some N before adding 25ml Micro, 5ml Grow, 40ml Bloom. PH at 5.75, EC at 1.15. Some leaves at the top of the canopy are dying off due to the Nitrogen tox causing Cal lockout which is unfortunate, but hopefully she gets back on track with the nutes dropped back somewhat. Shes still growing, now at 11" from the light, and the buds are fattening up decently. 14/10 - Ph and EC stable! Debating a W6 flower defol.

Too much N at this stage of growth. Not calmag. Not yet anyways. I can see some rust spots. That comes from too much N in later stages of flowering. Use 1-3 ratios for these nutrients. .3ml grow 1ml/l bloom and micro can be 1ml also. But to much N for this Stage in hydros. Good luck.

Honestly, if this was my grow, I'd be defoliating! I've defoliated a grow right up to 2 weeks before harvest with no adverse effect... I'd want to be getting as much light into the lower bud sites as possible. But do it slowly - a little bit today, see how she is tomorrow... if she hasn't reacted, do a little bit more... etc. I trim off fan leaves that are either covering bud sites or growing towards the main stem... this will do a couple of things - along with getting more light into the lower bud sites, it will also tell the plant to concentrate its efforts on the buds themselves, not the leaves. You might want to take a look at this article which I find very helpful: https://www.growweedeasy.com/nebulas-super-simple-3-step-defoliation-tutorial Just want to talk a little bit about the nitrogen problems you've had.... the FloraMicro is LOADED with nitrogen and it's this particular nute I cut back on first... Honestly, I'd cut that back a bit more (if not cut it out altogether) if I were you and I'd bring up the amount of FloraBloom... leave the FloraGro where it is.... but FloraMicro has an NPK of 5-0-1 which really isn't very healthy for plants in flower so I completely ignore the feed chart on this nute... in flower, you want a lot more P and K and very little N.... Good luck!

15/10 - Bit of defoliation to open her up and remove some stacked leaves. Didnt take a whole lot but its made a decent difference. I think that'll be the last cut before harvest bar a few which have been hit by the cal lock. Next grow I need to figure out how to access the back of the tent, because at the moment its impossible without fucking my back up and craning my neck. Got would I could back there but could def be better. Topped up with plain water as shes drank 10l over the last 2 days. Not seeing any more rust spots forming so hopefully the cal lockout is fixed. Shes starting to smell quite strong with notes of citrus and shes sticky as hell. 17/10 - EC plummeting again, 10l drank over 2 days. Topped up with water and 3ml CalMag, 5ml Grow, 10ml Bloom added. 18/10 - PH has remained stable overnight after the top up. I ended up doing quite a bit of defoliation today, again opening her up and removing problematic or shaded leaves. Always amazes me how much plant matter can be removed and yet she still ends up looking super dense. 20/10 - Full res change. 5ml CalMag 10ml Micro 5Ml Grow 45Ml Bloom. 1.15EC 6.1PH. 21/10 - PH dropping much more slowly now, so in a good spot. Continuing to take the odd leaf here and there to help light penetrate and get them off bud sites.

Hello! I can see how the trichomes are still all transparent while some are becoming milky, so it will take another 10-15 days! When the pistils are pretty much all brown, then in theory the trichomes should be all milky, from there you can either harvest (for a more cerebral effect) or wait a few more days until 25-50% amber trichomes for a more physical effect! Anyway, you can start to flush :) Happy growing!

22/10 - 10l, Nute water top up. 1.5ml CalMag, 1.5ml Grow, 15ml Bloom. 23/10 - Ph raised. 10l water top up. Seems shes just almost doubled her water uptake overnight. Bit of defoliation. Next time Im getting a bigger tent. Its an absolute bastard to get to anything underneath or at the back at the moment, but she seems to be bulking up. Just noticed a tiny brand new sprout right at the base of the plant. Dunno if I should chop or let nature find its way! 25/10 - 10l water top up.

Just spotted this little branch peaking through the hydroton in late flower which I thought was pretty impressive. She even has little triches forming on her. Taking votes on weather to snip her or let her grow!

Indeed, life always finds a way. My vote would be "snip". I totally get that it probably won't make a difference one way or the other, however, you clearly took action to have a clean and clear understory on this plant. Presumably with the idea of directing all the plant's energy to the prime flower sites higher in the canopy. Why stray from that at this point? I'm not suggesting that leaving it would undo you previous efforts, but I am suggesting that to leave it would be counter to your initial intent/plan, and that this far in, it should likely take more than a whim to get you to do something else. If you want to see what happens if you leave things like that little guy, then start another seed and don't train or manipulate the plant, just let it be. My prognostication is that you'll get a range of buds, some of which aren't going to be beautiful, tight, or any of the other adjectives we use today to describe top-shelf flower, but that they will all "get the job done". Of course YMMV.

Banana, get some scissors and cut it off. It's a pollen sack, occasionally as the plant is nearing the end it will produce a banana as a last gasp attempt to be pollinated. Looks good, that's a sign it's nearly ready. If it had hermied that's another issue completely, just cut that little part off before it pops. Nothing to worry about there bud. I had a hermie on my last run which I was too late to spot, ended up with a seedbank.

Water uptake has slowed considerably this last week. From what I understand this is expected as she finishes her life cycle. Should I continue res changes at full strength or lower the nute ratio to match her uptake? Trichs are still clear/cloudy with little amber.

The last seven to ten days in hydro I’ll bring EC down by 30% or so every couple days.. 1.5, 1.0, .6, .4 and finish last few days low like that.. a taper, not a flush. Just my 2 cents

29/10 - Full Res Change after a 6 hour flush with plain ph water. Tapering off the nutes as shes drastically slowed her water uptake. Took a test bud yesterday and vaped it wet. Tasted as expected, but has a smiley, relaxing effect to it. Think she should be good to come down shortly. 31/10 - Water uptake seems to have picked up a bit again. EC rising slowly, PH still plummeting daily. Looking pretty cloudy with a few starting to amber. Hoping to have her down in a week or so. 01/11 - PH still plumetting, PH stablized. Better microscope coming tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I'm seeing amber tips when eyeballing through a lens, but theyre not coming across on the phone. Hoping the new scope gives me a better view. 04/11 - Test nug taken and vaped. Shes got a very giggly but relaxing high which tails off into sedation. Very nice. Chopping tomorrow after a 12h dark period, and 16h plain ph'd water flush.

Finally starting to see some amber on the buds. Got a better microscope coming tomorrow as getting pictures on the phone is a nightmare. Should I be waiting for entire trichomes to turn, or will it only ever be the tip?

Just the tips will turn amber... make sure you're looking at the trichs that are on the buds, not the leaves.... Good luck!

Pretty easy first grow, with a lot learnt along the way for next time. I believe not defoliating enough and overfeeding the nitrogen in flower hurt the bud density in the end, but I'm more than happy with the returns and as its vape use, dense flower is less important to me.

I would break it down in decent parts to hang dry with leaves on. To slow drying process. With humidity 50 to 60 percent and temp ideally 65 f. But I usually am around 71 f. I cut fan leaves off after a few days. They are left to slow the drying process. In all my harvest videos on YouTube I do this on camera. Feel free to check one out if curious to what I mean by decent size. I bag it in 6 to 8 days in a grove bag.

14th day of dry. Temp/RH have been around 60/60, but not getting snap from stems. Did trim yesterday and took a good deal of dry leaves by simply pulling gently / running the scissors over them. Would you cut and jar at this point or leave until stems are brittle?

Drying until all the stems snap can may be too dry. To test trim off the stems and put some into an airtight jar with a hygrometer. The next day see what the humidity is inside the jar. If it's 58-62% that is about perfect.
the end.
