- Northern Lights Auto seed germinated without incident, and is growing like a typical seedling. -Amnesia Haze Auto seed fought the whole time to germinate. The seed pod wouldn't open all the way even though the seed was popping out of the side that was opening. I intervened after overnight the seeds was still trying to get out. But then the papery casing was still holding the leaves closed, left it alone for a few hours still the paper was holding the cotyledons together. Again had to gently pull it off after it dried a little. Once the seedling leaves opened, the growth was explosive.

Week 2: Transplanted N.L. auto on Day 7, added 2 different brand kelp and Mykos to water. Used FFOF soil, added perlite, blood meal, crushed eggshells, chopped banana peel (tbsp), and worm castings (didn't measure but it was about 1-1.5 cups each where a measurement was not mentioned). The close up on day 10 and day7 photos make the leaves look like they already have resin on them, which I'm sure early wishful thinking on my part! I also purchased an additional light, the HLG 260 watt QB (3000k), since I feel like my HLG 100 (4000K) won't be enough light through the flowering stage. NL Day 11 watered & AH Day 8, watered w/ about 16 ounces each, with .25 teaspoon each of: Alaska fish emulsion, Kelp Me Kelp You, Chelated iron, Citrus Nutritional spray (has Magnesium@1%, [email protected]%, [email protected]%, [email protected]%, [email protected]%) in 1 gal of water. -This is all for scientific research, of course!

WK3: NL doing well. Watering every 3-4 days about 12-14 ounces per watering. Still using the same gallon w/ nutrients from week2. The next watering will finish off the gallon and then just regular water for the girls; will play it by ear and let the plants let me know if they need something. -Still debating if I should top. I've seen great results from other growers with topping autos but I'm a bit hesitant but I also like see for myself and experiment because curiosity just burns me... We shall see. For now, I will just let the girls grow. Backed the LEDS to 24 inches since the leaves have slight curling. Got my QB266 yesterday, put it together but haven't turned it on yet. The heat will dramatically increase , so I will need to figure that out... another fan or 2 perhaps to vent some hot air out. Side note: I use RO water that adds minerals back in the water. Happy growing everyone!

Do my girls look healthy? There's small lighter green patches here and there and some leaf curl. I might be a over analyzing/reacting. I'm a little paranoid but autos supposed to be finicky and stunt easily, and can go from bad to worse very quickly, from everything I've read.Thx

Everything looks fine. I would stop all feeding, with 5 gallon of soil you will not need to feed much, if anything at all during this run; feeding wise, if there's no sign of deficiencies, there's no need of feeding. Do try to pH your waterings to around 6.5 (6.0 to 7.0 is a fine range to fall in), that will help. You might be over watering a bit, try 2 glasses of water every 5 days or so, until the soil is dry again.

Well, this is the start of Week#4. This tween-ager is growing well-I think... Not sure why but She seems a bit stunted, growing quite dense, and very, very stout. Seem healthy otherwise. Added DE due to spotting some gnats; not watering as much, waiting for soil to dry a bit. She's small but there is definitely a noticeable fragrance in the air: Parfume de Cannabis! I hope she'll go thru a nice stretch during flowering time. Watered on Day 25 am (experimenting with diluted coffee to see if they like it as an alternative ph treatment to soil and may add some coffee grounds - Please don't hate - No negative effects so far).

Week 5: I think she's still a little small for week 5, however, she seems healthy, & leaves growing vigorously; Diluting leftover coffee and added only a tiny amount of CalMag and Big Bloom and I think she likes it. Hopefully she'll start the flowering stretch soon. -I think she's finally in the pre-flowering stage and wk6 will most likely be the flowering stage. Smell is increasing and getting strong. Need to get my carbon filter in there. -Tucking and continuing the LST-ing and spreading. Since she's still so short and stout, trying to get her to at least spread out as much as possible. Don't want to do anything drastic going into the flowering stage. -Day35: Last day of wk 5, looks like she's still in the veg state and probably will be for another week. Can't wait until she gets in the flowering stage already. The smell is already unbelievably strong for such a small plant, I need my charcoal filter delivered already. Until next week - happy, successful, and abundant grow to all!

Had to wipe my previous Week 6 posting thinking she was in flower but she wasn't, she's just growing and stretching and growing some more. She's definitely growing and spreading out more. Big difference between beginning of the week and the end of the week.

Week 7-Thought she was in flower but still in Veg state. Filling in the 5 gal very nicely now. Maybe I should try to 12/12 lighting? I think she's in the pre-flowering stage. Next week she'll be showing flowers, I hope. The Amnesia haze which is 3-4 days younger is in flower so this one should be getting there soon... Still using Coffee water - about 5-6 cups per gallon or so, I think the plants like it still and probably brings down the acidity a tiny bit? These girls could smell up a football arena, they are so aromatic. I have a tent charcoal scrubber (6 inch) and a room charcoal scrubber and it still smells up the room they're in. Trying to not keep the tent sealed up because of the heat, which gets to about 83 at the highest but I can tell they don't like it.

Week8: I think she's finally going into the flowering stage. Defoliated a little since the canopy was so compact and dense. Watered on Day 49. Added 2 tbsp/gal of bone meal (really gross smelling) for phosphorous during flower. It was very little per gallon. May add it again and see if it does anything during flowering. -I can't defoliate fast enough. She's growing and bushing out like crazy still. I guess I'll trim a little more. -Seems like instead of watering every 5th-7th day, I'm having to water a little more 3rd-5th day. She still has a long ways to go...

Laying off the Nutrients, just coffee water as I started noticing the very tips starting to yellow. Even though it's in soil the ph maybe off? Paranoia? Probably. Not sure so, just coffee water for the next couple of drinks then some bloom nutes again next week. She's drying out very quickly. I'm sticking my finger in the soil and lifting the fabric pot to see how light it is. Needs water she does! I think she's going to go 13 weeks.

Week 10: This is the 3rd week in flower. Still watering when the girls look thirsty meaning I lift the pots up to measure weight/dryness. Now, it's just a wait and watch and then wait some more game. Patients is a virtue! So far so good. I'm not trying to over feed, just some big bloom here and there and cal-mag plus every other week. So far so good. Waiting on the buds to fatten! I hope she's a fatty!

Week 11: Everything is going well, some bottom leaves are starting to yellow as expected. I think she has another 3-4 weeks to go. Buds are starting to fatten up and this NL Auto is not particularly "frosty", actually it's the least frosty of the 3 so far. I've added Big Bud to the feeding schedule and will use for 2 weeks as suggested, then add Terpinator for the last 2 weeks. Scent: She smells like stinky cheese and her sister the Amnesia Haze smells like a basket of citrus/lemons&tangerines. Out of the 3 the NL cheese smell is my least favorite. 😳

Week 12: The buds are fattening up and frosting up more than I thought they would but I think she has another good 2-3 more weeks to go at least... One of the longest Autos ever, lol! Feeding her above mentioned nutes once per week and rest of the week, watered-down coffee. Experimenting with different flowering nute products and trying not to over do it at the same time. She's starting to fade and have some autumnal coloring on some fan leaves. Hopefully she finishes in 3 weeks (4 at the most) while the buds keep getting fatter. Edit: She smells like dank cheese and her pistils looks like cheese going through a cheese grater :)

I've grown vegetables and other plants and I think I have somewhat of a green-ish thumb but this was my first grow of this type of plant (and it was an automatic flowering plant which are supposed to be more difficult). NL was my biggest yielding of the three plants @ 1.5 ounces. She was easy to take care of, fed and watered when she looked like she needed it. Well, happy growing to all!
