Zombie Bride by Ripper Seeds : Zombie Kush (Sideral (Amnesia/Lavender)x Bubba Kush (Triangle Kush/Northern Lights)) x Wedding Cake ( Triangle Kush x Animal Mints ( Girl Scout Cookies genetic))
Started this photo periodic Indica from Spanish breeders. Bought this seed in Minorca (in a nice and friendly grow shop in Ciutadella)…summer holiday souvenir!
24h seed open
72h exit from soil
I prepared a sort of super soil 2 weeks before using it
Light mix (plagron) 40%
Coco (plagron) 25%
Lombric compost 10%
Worm Humus ( BioBizz) 20%
Vermiculite 2%
For 10L
Seaweed powder (GK organics)= 4 tablespoons
Super guano (Top Crop)= 4 tablespoons
Horn dried blood (Or Brun)= 4 tablespoons
Choose a CFL 300W Florastar for the firsts weeks. 16h/day
Put the peat pot in a 3 L pot with the soil prepared before.
Normal stretch, not too much; solid seedling. Low and continue ventilation during light period .
Day 7: changed the light for the Niello 300, blue spectrum. Consuming less electricity but I needed to place a heat mat to maintain a temperature around 22 degrees in the germination room.
Root Juice + Tarantula day 7
Perfect start.
The micro growing space under the stairs is appropriate to begin the vegetative cycle in 3L pots: more easy to control temperature and humidity.
Winter is coming, I added a ceramic horticultural heater 45W (+ heat mat 50W) to maintain 21/22 degrees during cycle day.
Feeding with Root Juice and Tarantula 2 times. Sprinkle soil with dried horn and blood for low nitrogen diffusion.
Frequency vaporization with rain water.
It’s another story to grow photo periodic plants; it’s not a race against the time like growing auto flowering plants. May be 7 weeks vegetation for this session.
Just afraid about the electricity cut during the winter. The temporaries blackout will be announced the day before….I bought a rechargeable (USB/solar) COB light to have a few hours autonomy.
Stable conditions. Winter bring low temperatures but the little growing space is well isolated.
The ventilation is not really good but the plant look healthy and the growth is dynamic.
I will moved the plant in the 60x90x180 cm grow tent in 2 weeks, with the TS1000 Mars Hydro, a good air extractor. This light will produced more heat than the Niello Led and will maintained a descent temperature in a bigger and more ventilated space.
Five nods on this plant: waiting before topping or LST, the plant should be in the final 10L pot in max 2 weeks when the rotting system will be good.
There is enough nutrients into the soil (guano, seaweed, horn, blood…), I just add some root booster and Cannazym.
Placed an mini air humidificator and a CO2 booster bag.
Happy to grow this strain. First time with Ripper seeds and this phenotype is growing well.
Just focus on the rooting system for the moment, using Terra Aquatica Root Booster.
The plant is healthy and will be placed in a bigger pot (12L) in ten days 🎅🏼with the “super soil” inside. At the same time i will move it in the grow tent.
Even if we are quasi in winter and indoor with no particularly predators around: i vaporized a preventive treatment on the plant: Neem Oil VG Garden bio + black soap + rainwater.
Watering each 2 days: 20cl rain water + root booster
Day 35: Zombie Bride has now 5 nodes and is healthy: it’s topping’s time.
Watering day 31 : Root Booster + Bio Grow
Watering day 33 : Silic Boost + rain water,
It’ s just a few days before changing room, pot and light.
After 6 day for recovering after topping it’s time to transplant the plant in a 11L pot with the soil I prepared 4 weeks ago. The rooting system is correct and the plant is strong.
I Moved the plant to the grow tent under the TS 1000
Same 18/6h cycle
Undirected permanent ventilation
Air extraction (powerful) 15 minute/2h
Ceramic heater 50W
Buddy Boost bag = CO2
Watering only with rain water with little ph modification this week.
This beautiful Indica seems resistant and vigorous: topping was a good option to control the plant size in the tent.
First week with the final setting: grow tent, led light TS 1000, 11L pot. Temperature inside ok around 22 (less when the air extractor is on), humidity level around 60%, ventilation/extraction 15 minutes each 2 hours.
Good acclimatation to the new conditions: the plant is healthy with big glossy leaves, typically Indica…successful topping, no really mistakes for the moment.
The enriched soil prepared few weeks before will make the job.
Training the to top branches:
Watering 3 times this week:rain water
:Silic Boost + Cannazym + rain water (40cl)
: root booster + rain water (40cl)
Vegetative cycle: 7 or 10 days more. Lot of hesitation about the moment to start the flowering cycle…🤔
Very satisfied about this strain, it could be nice to grow it outdoor. Spanish seeds are the best to grow in my country.(😎happy neighbor)
.
First Stage OK. Vegetative period is done: started the flowering cycle day 53.
Light TS 1000 MarsHydro 12/12.
No signs of stress, nutrients deficiency or excess, no diseases or pests : just a vigorous and healthy plant. This Strain has a high potential.🤩….need 8 weeks to complete the flowering period.
Watering each 2 days around 40cl of: Calmag + Root Booster + rain water
: Rain water
: Calmag + Root Booster + rain water
Spread 3 Table spoon of Guano powder NPK 3-6-10 on the top of the soil; Bloon organic mix by “Guanodiff”
Flowering cycle engaged since 2 weeks, no really flowers for now. Growth seems over. Starting slowly…
The problem for now is this freezing winter. Low temperatures around the grow tent: 11 degrees at night; I placed some cardboard around (better than nothing), the little ceramic heater is still on and the light produce some heat too. But when the air extractor is on, during 15 minutes every 2 hours: temperature inside the room fall and it take some time to recover a stable and correct conditions. I must buy an extractor with adjustable speed or less power; but for the moment I can reduce the frequency of air extraction but I don’t know the limits for the plants.
I placed a carbon filter: it will be essential for discretion in a few weeks. This sytem offers a sort of isolation around the air extractor: not bad by this time.
2 x 50cl Watering: every 3 days with rain water + Fish Mix.
Bride on flower…week 10 over.
Running well, nothing special to do this week: just controlling five minutes each day. No need to add daily complex mix of nutrients, I tried to add the major part of the basic nutrients in the soil before: it seems working for the moment and it’s confortable if you have no much time to spend every day (and it’s cheaper too): only the final result will say if it was a good way.
Good resistance to the low temperatures. Weather is still cold but the conditions are stable into the grow tent since I installed the carbon filter. The advantage of winter growing is the absence of nuisibles, maintaining humidity level is easier too.
2 watering each 72h: tarantula (root care-beneficial bacteria)+ rain water
Tarantula + Calmag + rain water
Sprinkled the soil with 1,5 tablespoon Palm Tree Ashes: very high content in potassium NPK 0-1-30 + phosphorous and calcium.
First half Flowering cycle: week 4 ok.
Flowers are just starting to enlarge and smell.
The conditions around and in the grow tent are stable : no freezing but a cold wave is announced next week….
2 watering this week; 0.5L every 60 hours:
- Calmag + Terra Flores + Rain water
- Cannazym + Terra Flores + Rain Water
Flowering cycle week 5 done. Always pleasant to see deep green with white flowers. Buds are growing good.
It’s 3 or 4 weeks more till the end, and one week with nutrients add before flushing.
Watering every 60 hours
- rain water + calmag + Terra Flores
- rain water + root juice + Terra Flores
1 tablespoon Palm tree ashes on top of the soil.
Week 13 - Flowering 38 days
I’m a bit dubious about this week. The flowers seems not so fat for now, I’m suspecting a problem with “fungus gnats” in the soil. I didn’t care about a few flys when I found it; but now I’m worried about the roots : fungus gnats larvae eat and damage root hairs = problem of nutrients captures.
Action —-> Reaction :
.Treated the base of the pfant and the soil with spraying : Neem Oil + soap + rain water.
.Defoliation
.Clean and treat the room but the tiny flies are hidden in soil…
I reacted a bit late😠, one more lesson learned after that: in case of any insect or leaves symptoms: you must be immediately reactive, each hour count with diseases or parasites! I loose attention à few days, carrying the seeding of the next session.
Watering every 60 hours
. PK 13/14 + Root Juice + rain water
. BioGrow + BioBloom + TopMax + rain water
Zombie Bride is dressed in white, covered with resin. Flowering cycle, week 7 done.
Ripper seeds announce a flowering cycle around 9/10 weeks. This phenotype look on time.
The flowers continue to grow and are producing lot of resin. Perfect geometrical flowers structure, testifying a great selection by the breeders. The smell is strong with subtle aroma. Some leaves start colored in purple.
Fungus gnats are still into soil, flying around, some of them die, stuck down on the resinous flowers ☠️. This plant act like a drosera (carnivorous plant), trapping insects in glue but cannabis can’t digest those prey and I grabbed the dead animals with a pair of tweezers before having a mold problem. We will cohabiting with Fungus gnats till the end but I try to control the infestation: I add few drops of Neem oil in the watering mix: it don’t kill the insects but it’s repellent.
Less problem of low temperatures around the tent, but it still winter…
Watering 1L every 60 hours, last feeding with organic nutrients
- BioBizz nutrients + rain water (+Neem oil)
- Silic Boost + rain water (+Neem oil)
Zombie Bride flowering since 56 days; harvest approaches. I will start to check the maturation trichomes with a lens.
For my latest sessions: I tried to cut the plants during a waning moon period: it’s supposed to facilitate and shorten the drying process. The scientific logic behind this idea is not so doubtful… no problem with the drying (around 2 weeks) till now. However if the plant is not ready for harvest during the next 2 weeks: I will choose the harvest day without a moon timing.
Notice that the germination of this plant was during a waning moon period too: supposed to encourage the rooting.
Flowers are getting thicker, very resinous, purple and silver…😋
Did a last feeding with some flowering organic nutrients at the beginning of the week and gave 1L rain water (ph a little bit corrected👇) 60h after.
I didn’t used too much nutrients during this session: major part was for rooting stimulation during vegetative period, and after some flowering nutrients , enzymes and Calcium/Magnesium. The enriched soil used to grow this plant (seaweed powder, horn, dried blood, bat guano, palm tree ashes, worm compost) did the job and limited the nutrients need. So I don’t need a long flushing, minimum 10 days.
I installed some fly traps (yellow stickers system) used in organic culture and it’s working good; catching Fungus gnats.
One more time temperatures are freezing and we loose some degrees in the grow tent. The good thing is that the low temperatures contribute to change the plant color in purple.😈
Zombie Bride 63 days flowering.
Plant look ready for harvest, leaves turned to purple et some started to die, flowers seems pretty well developed and matured , covered with silver resins. Trichomes are all cloudy, some of them turned amber.
The smell is heavy and violent…this plant stinks literally!!
Changed the light for the last days : Niello 300W Bloom spectrum (Red). This was efficient for plant maturation and to moderate the fungus gnats invasion. Temperature is now around 21 degrees.
Watering with 1L rain water + Flawless finish each 48h
Next step, in 4 days: Dark room during 60h.
Here we are: 118 days, 10 weeks flowering, 60 hours dark room… Winter Bride is ready for harvest: I will miss her 😢, she was a good and pretty partner but I need to smoke her!
Mission complete, satisfying result for the moment even if we will not have a heavy yield.
Beautiful dark purple color, powerful smell and resins everywhere.
Flushing Ok - last watering 96h ago: the soil is almost dry.
I will cut the plant in a few hours and prepare it for drying ; trimming the whole plant and remove it in the grow tent with a little ventilation, a periodic air extraction and zero lights, zero heater system. 15 days minimum .
finest strain with an interesting genetic: Zombie Kush(Sideral x Bubba Kush) x Wedding Cake(Triangle Kush x Animal Mints). Easy and fun to grow, the plant is turning purple at the end, producing beautiful frosty and smelly flowers. Tasty weed: it’s a typical Kush with an enveloping smoke, earthy and woody flavor with accent of licorice and hot sugar. Could be cool to test it outdoor.
I bought this Zombie Bride seed pack last summer in Minorca and I was excited to grow this Spanish strain. The company seems serious and engaged for developing quality and original strains. In addition I love the graphic design like 90’s skateboard stickers.
Used 2 different lights:
-Mars Hydro TS 1000 (power 50%) for the first 2 weeks
-Niello 300 (blue spectrum) during 5 weeks
-Mars Hydro TS 1000 (power 100%) for preflowering week and flowering (9 weeks)
-Niello 300 (red spectrum) for 10 days maturation
Perfect germination 1/1 .
Dynamic and progressive growth during the vegetative cycle (7 weeks) despite of winters low temperatures. Indica structure, well developed after one topping (5 nodes/week 5) for the stretch control and multiply the blooming sites. Training the top branches to enlarge the plant and for light penetration. Low feeding along this period: just stimulating the roots.
The enriched soil (recipe week 1) seems to cover the basic needs of the plant.
Beautiful flowering period for this little plant…enforcing along the weeks and producing pretty resinous flowers with a spicy aroma. The Bride turned finally in Zombie colors: purple and green. For the eyes: It’s the Queen of the session.
Little Yield but it’s one plant in the middle of 5 for a 60x90 cm, 10L pot and a 150W Led.
May be 200W Led would be better, higher temperatures too.
Globally it was a cool session…learning a little bit more every time….
