Black Domina by Sensi Seeds : Afghanistan x Ortega x Northern lights x Hashplant
95% Indica - around 50 days flowering
I was searching for a photo periodic Indica dominant, this strain is a perfect classic cross with a short flowering cycle.
24h seed open
72h exit from soil.
I prepared a sort of super soil 2 weeks before using it
Light mix (plagron) 40%
Coco (plagron) 25%
Lombric compost 10%
Worm Humus ( BioBizz) 20%
Vermiculite 2%
For 10L
Seaweed powder (GK organics)= 4 tablespoons
Super guano (Top Crop)= 4 tablespoons
Horn dried blood (Or Brun)= 4 tablespoons
Choose a CFL 300W Florastar for the firsts weeks. 16h/day
Put the peat pot in a 3 L pot with the soil prepared before.
Normal stretch, not too much; solid seedling. Low and continue ventilation during light period .
Day 7: changed the light for the Niello 300, blue spectrum. Consuming less electricity but I needed to place a heat mat to maintain a temperature around 22 degrees in the germination room.
Root Juice + Tarantula day 7
Perfect start.
The micro growing space under the stairs is appropriate to begin the vegetative cycle in 3L pots: more easy to control temperature and humidity.
Winter is coming, I added a ceramic horticultural heater 45W (+ heat mat 50W) to maintain 21/22 degrees during cycle day.
Feeding with Root Juice and Tarantula 2 times. Sprinkle soil with dried horn and blood for low nitrogen diffusion.
vaporization with rain water.
It’s another story to grow photo periodic plants; it’s not a race against the time like growing auto flowering plants. May be 7 weeks vegetation for this session.
Just afraid about the electricity cut during the winter. The temporaries blackout will be announced the day before….I bought a rechargeable (USB/solar) COB light to have a few hours autonomy.
Stable conditions. Winter bring low temperatures but the little growing space is well isolated.
The ventilation is not really good but the plant look healthy and the growth is dynamic.
I will moved the plant in the 60x90x180 cm grow tent in 2 weeks, with the TS1000 Mars Hydro, a good air extractor. This light will produced more heat than the Niello Led and will maintained a descent temperature in a bigger and more ventilated space.
Five nods on this plant: waiting before topping or LST, the plant should be in the final 10L pot in max 2 weeks when the rotting system will be good.
There is enough nutrients into the soil (guano, seaweed, horn, blood…), I just add some root booster and Cannazym.
Placed an mini air humidificator and a CO2 booster bag.
Hardy plants, five nodes and a good size in the 3L pot. I choose to cut the apex day 28: the plant seems strong to support this operation. I will wait the time needed by the plant to recover before changing pot. 7 to 10 days may be. The objective: changing the plant structure, trying to have a flat canopy.
Probably 4 or 5 weeks more before flowering.
Just focus on the rooting system for the moment, using Terra Aquatica Root Booster.
The plant is healthy and will be placed in a bigger pot (12L) in ten days 🎅🏼with the “super soil” inside. At the same time i will move it in the grow tent.
Even if we are quasi in winter and indoor with no particularly predators around: i vaporized a preventive treatment on the plant: Neem Oil VG Garden bio + black soap + rainwater.
Watering each 2 days: 20cl rain water + root booster
Black Domina is growing very well, the topping is working good: all side branches are stretching and the 2 on top are growing quickly.
Watering day30 : water rain + Silic boost :could help the plant after topping.
This week is a sort of recuperation time, in case of stress. A bigger pot is ready for the transplantation and the room change next week.
Watering 2 time Bio Grow + Root Booster
It’s now 2 weeks I did the topping and 2 top branches are well developed and side branches are stretching.
Changing the 3L pot for a 11L pot with the soil prepared 4 weeks ago inside. The rooting system is correct and the plant is healthy
I Moved the plant to the grow tent under the TS 1000
Same 18/6h cycle
Undirected permanent ventilation
Air extraction (powerful) 15 minute/2h
Ceramic heater 50W
Buddy Boost bag = CO2
Watering only with rain water with little ph modification this week.
The Black Domina is ready to start the flowering cycle. Good general structure: large with a optimum exposure to the light. Just a doubt about the solidity of the top branches…we will see with the flowers on them.
The enriched soil worked good during the vegetative period: just solid organic nutrients ( bonemeal ,bloodmeal, seaweed powder, bat guano) with root booster and a few ml of BioGrow.
3 watering this week. : Silic boost+ rain water
(40cl/2days)
: rain water
: Cannazym + rain water
First Stage OK. Vegetative period is done: started the flowering cycle day 53.
Light TS 1000 MarsHydro 12/12.
No problem during this time: no stress, no nutrients excess or deficiency, no diseases or pests. The result is a elegant plant, large after the topping
Lot of blooming sites.
Watering each 2 days around 40cl of: Calmag + Root Booster + rain water
: Rain water
: Calmag + Root Booster + rain water
Spread 3 Table spoon of Guano powder NPK 3-6-10 on the top of the soil; Bloon organic mix by “Guanodiff”

A second week of flowering, no delay.
A good structure, cross form, the centre is open to give light to every blooming sites.
The growth is definitely over.
The problem for now is this freezing winter. Low temperatures around the grow tent: 11 degrees at night; I placed some cardboard around (better than nothing), the little ceramic heater is still on and the light produce some heat too. But when the air extractor is on, during 15 minutes every 2 hours: temperature inside the room fall and it take some time to recover a stable and correct conditions. I must buy an extractor with adjustable speed or less power; but for the moment I can reduce the frequency of air extraction but I don’t know the limits for the plants.
I placed a carbon filter: it will be essential for discretion in a few weeks. This sytem offers a sort of isolation around the air extractor: not bad by this time.
2 x 50cl Watering: every 3 days with rain water + Fish Mix.
Black Domina look good, developing flowers: 4 main branches with top buds and many flowering sites in the central part. Still healthy.
Conditions are more stables in the grow tent since I installed the carbon filter and place a heat mat on a side of the space (no contact with pot).
, but it’s difficult to have more than 20 or 22 degrees. This days are not so cold.
2 watering each 72h: tarantula (root care-beneficial bacteria)+ rain water
Tarantula + Calmag + rain water
Sprinkled the soil with 1,5 tablespoon Palm Tree Ashes: very high content in potassium NPK 0-1-30 + phosphorous and calcium.
Black Domina is pumping: flowers are growing; main buds are elongating and start to enlarge: the Afghani heredity is very recognizable.😋.
Considering 8 weeks of flowering: the plant did the first half of the cycle: the point is good. Some leaves are starting to loose some color but it’s quasi imperceptible; Guano powder (nitrogen +) before and Calmag regularly prevented deficiency. However I added some Terra Flores this week for a complete nutrient input, it’s 2 weeks remaining before flushing.
Conditions around the grow tent were not too bad; inside it’s stable. But a cold wave is announced next week .
2 watering this week; 0.5L every 60 hours:
- Calmag + Terra Flores + Rain water
- Cannazym + Terra Flores + Rain Water
Flowering cycle week 5 done.
Buds are growing: they got 3 weeks to get more meaty. One more week with a little bit of nutrients and start flushing.
The plant is correct but the main stem is not robust, it’s very flexible and I must care when I move the pot. I will see if the rooting was good after harvest, or if the strain is like this. the Spanish strains are growing better and stronger than the seed from Hollande: may be question of geographic zone…I’m not so far from Spain but I don’t know : indoor conditions are the same everywhere.
Watering every 60 hours :
- Terra Flores + Calmag + Rain Water 50cl
- Terra Flores + Root Juice + Rain Water 50cl
1 tablespoon Palm tree ashes on top of the soil.
Flowering cycle week 6 done
Buds start to enlarge, to produce resins and a strong basic weed smell. This plant look more fragile than the Spanish roommates…we will see the final result in a few weeks.
I’m suspecting a problem with “fungus gnats” in the soil. I didn’t care about a few flys when I found it; but now I’m worried about the roots : fungus gnats larvae eat and damage root hairs = problem of nutrients captures.
Action —-> Reaction :
.Treated the base of the pfant and the soil with spraying : Neem Oil + soap + rain water.
.Defoliation
.Clean and treat the room but the tiny flies are hidden in soil…
I reacted a bit late😠, one more lesson learned after that: in case of any insect or leaves symptoms: you must be immediately reactive, each hour count with diseases or parasites! I loose attention à few days, carrying the seeding of the next session.
Watering every 60 hours
. PK 13/14 + Root Juice + rain water
. BioGrow + BioBloom + TopMax + rain water
Black Domina : Flowering cycle Week 7 done
Maturation time, the pretty Indica buds are producing resin and intense aroma. Some leaves are turning in Yellow.
Sensi Seed announce a 50 days flowering period: I will wait more, counting 10 or 15 days more for a preflowering period.
This phenotype is skinny, globally fragile…The main stems are barely supporting the flowers and the whole plant is slowly bending on a side.
Fungus gnats are still into soil, flying around, some of them die, stuck down on the resinous flowers ☠️. This plant act like a drosera (carnivorous plant), trapping insects in glue but cannabis can’t digest those prey and I grabbed the dead animals with a pair of tweezers before having a mold problem. We will cohabiting with Fungus gnats till the end but I try to control the infestation: I add few drops of Neem oil in the watering mix: it don’t kill the insects but it’s repellent.
Less problem of low temperatures around the tent, but it still winter…
Watering 1L every 60 hours, last feeding with organic nutrients
- BioBizz nutrients + rain water (+Neem oil)
- Silic Boost + rain water (+Neem oil)
Black Domina 8 weeks flowering period. The average time of 50 days proposed by Sensi Seeds is over.
Some pretty buds are bending the whole plant with their weight. This flowers are getting rusty color, dense with a authentic aroma. This was I expected growing this famous basic strain. Some cloudy trichomes are turning into amber.
Harvest approach, may be one week more before the dark room during 48 or 60 hours.
For my latest sessions: I tried to cut the plants during a waning moon period: it’s supposed to facilitate and shorten the drying process. The scientific logic behind this idea is not so doubtful… no problem with the drying (around 2 weeks) till now. However if the plant is not ready for harvest during the next 2 weeks: I will choose the harvest day without a moon timing.
Notice that the germination of this plant was during a waning moon period too: supposed to encourage the rooting.
Did a last feeding with some flowering organic nutrients at the beginning of the week and gave 1L rain water (ph a little bit corrected👇) 60h after.
I didn’t used too much nutrients during this session: major part was for rooting stimulation during vegetative period, and after some flowering nutrients , enzymes and Calcium/Magnesium. The enriched soil used to grow this plant (seaweed powder, horn, dried blood, bat guano, palm tree ashes, worm compost) did the job and limited the nutrients need. So I don’t need a long flushing, minimum 10 days.
I installed some fly traps (yellow stickers system) used in organic culture and it’s working good; catching Fungus gnats.
One more time temperatures are freezing and we loose some degrees in the grow tent, but it’s correct and may be better to ending the flowering process.
Black Domina day 112, 9 weeks flowering
The plant look finally ready: dense rusty bud, heavy and smelly are bending the whole plant.
Maturation is ok with cloudy trichomes turning amber.
Flushing started 10 days ago: 1L rain water + Flawless finish each 48h
Used Niello Led 300W this week; bloom mode, red spectrum. This light reduced the temperature inside tent and keep fungus gnats away. It was efficient for the maturation process.
In 4 days: total obscurity during 60h before final defoliation and cut.
Black Domina is on time with a correct maturation after 10 weeks flowering.
Heavy buds, deep aroma, resinous. Leaves are turning in yellow color, plant is ending the cycle slowly.
Flushing ok, 60 h in dark room, no watering since 96h, waning moon: ready for harvest.
The plant will be cut soon, trimming and hanging for 15 days minimum in the attic.
The Black Domina with the Indica genetic and a short flowering period was selected for the Indica winter session between other roommates like Zombie Kush, Big Bazooka, Mendocino Chanel Kush or Cookies.
The plant take the better start and grew faster than the other until a certain point. Topping week 5 ( 5 nodes) was may be too soon and the transplantation and LST 2 weeks after added a little bit stress.
Globally the vegetative cycle was OK, with low nutrients. Week 8: starting the flowering period; the plant is healthy, large with long fine stems. Not really bushy and the base of the plant look more fragile than the other plans.
Stretch continue during the preflowering weeks, flowers start growing along the 4 main branches. In 10 weeks flowering we have 4 principles buds meaty and resinous with beautiful form. Powerful aroma: wood and spices.
After 3 weeks drying: we have a light yield (10L pot / 150W led / 5 plants in a 60x90 room / winter) but abeautiful product, finest quality, tasty with a punchy and heavy effect relaxing body and mind for a long time.
