The most resilient cannabis cultivar I have grown to date. This thing will put up with anything, and it will develop these super sugary, sweet-smelling, very hairy colas that just fill the grow space with a nice floral/fruit fragrance.

I've only used this light for the last week of flowering, and my plant really took off the day after it was introduced. By far the best LED fixture, or grow light for that matter, I have used.

The was my very first indoor grow, and after growing many strains outdoor, I can honestly say I don't think I could have chose a better strain to start learning with. Sweet Cheese F1 Fast Version is a strain that will put up with anything. She was on her death bed more than once due to beginner mistakes, and she bounced back like it was nothing once the problem was corrected...each and every time. I will definitely be growing this again some time. She has now been completely chopped and is hanging to dry. EDIT: This harvest was extremely small due to flipping her too early due to what I thought was root rot, but was overly high humidity. This message is 6 months later, with several other harvests completed, and each one having bud rot. This plant was grown when humidity was at its highest, so I am positive the discoloration is due to this, and I am positive this harvest also had the mold now that I know where to look for it (it is very hard to see clear or white mold in small isolated patches in the middle of larger buds). Additionally, I had other strains not expected to be bright red also have this happen. High humidity is the problem, and this diary is now marked as a failure along with all the rest, until I get that sorted out. Please check out the harvest report for my Green Crack diary for a full description of what we're dealing with, and please be safe and check your prized harvests.

I really messed up my first grow. I dropped some JF22H (not feminized) in the substrate of one of the Sweet Cheese pots, as can be seen in the image. Additionally, there has been an extra one growing along with the other JF22H in their own pot. What should I do? Kill or let grow?

Hello. Interesting problem. The seed that are regular seeds will need to be sexed (looking to see what sex they are) but that only happens after the 5 week of growth. This is what I would do; The roots of these plants are only as long as the stock is tall at this point - I would dig up the regular seeds and put them in smaller pots so they can be sexed and put your fem seeds into the big fabric pots you have there. If your careful not to break the roots, the plants will recover. I like to use liquid seaweed for root stress. Once the regular seeds have been sexed you decide what you want to do. That should give you time to decide which way you want to go with your plants. Chuck.

Well, interesting! I'm assuming you've grown in coco before and know that it must be kept moist at all times, yes? And if the seedlings were lying flat on the coco, it was probably because they weren't getting the water they needed... and knowing how quickly the roots grow and how long they get, they're probably now down at the bottom of that 5 gallon pot and happy because they're in moisture... But that being said, the fabric itself should not be wet (damp is fine, wet is not). I would construct a rack of some sort to keep the pot slightly off the ground so you can give it good waterings/feedings with runoff but so they are not sitting in water all the time. Good drainage is a must! As for the 5 gallon pots - when I grew in soil (I only grow in DWC now), I would start all my seeds in the pots they were going to finish in since all I grow are autoflowers... and the 5 gallon pots were never a problem. If you're growing photos and you feel they ARE a problem (the pots), then by all means, transplant them into a smaller pot and go from there... but the Sweet Cheese sounds like it might be an autoflower (?) and they don't like to be transplanted so I'd leave her alone. Just keep your coco moist and give her good nutes... I wouldn't give just the Big Bloom, I'd also be giving some Grow Big, particularly for the stage they're in - but watch it... I've used FF nutes before and always had a problem with the Grow Big causing nitrogen toxicities and it drove me mad... so go lightly with it at first... you can always increase the dose if needed but it's easier to treat a deficiency rather than a toxicity. Good luck!

Hi all. Very first grow here, and so many mistakes were made along the way that resulted in stunted growth. I was told photos show preflowers before the 12/12 switch, so is this correct, and can any of my photographs in week 5 be identified as male yet? Thank you!

If you take photos to about 8-10 weeks youโ€™ll usually see female stigmas on the females.. very small and not obvious but there nonetheless. This is just a sign of sexual maturity and that theyโ€™re more or less ready to flip.. itโ€™s not really preflower.. just an identifying factor. Your sweet cheese should be female cuz I believe sweet seeds only does feminized seeds. Not sure about the other ones you gave tho

Can anyone identify the cause of this issue? Note that this is occurring on only a single LEAFLET of a single leaf of a single plant. No signs of eggs and it is very slowly spreading. Took 5 weeks to get this far and starting to spread to leaflet next to it with some small spots.

Well, it's got to be an insect of some kind as a nutrient issue or environmental issue wouldn't cause this kind of damage. I'd get some BT and spray that particular area - top and bottom of leaves - just before lights out. If it IS a leaf-chewing bug, it will take one bite, decide to have lunch elsewhere and go off and die... and BT is organic so no worries there... Good luck - that's just weird!! :-D

Tbh Pal.. There really is a lot to it. Just syick with the basics for now.. There's so much info on DLI and it's different for every local and environmental conditions, RH temp.co2 and lots lots more. Get back the basics under your wing 1st.. Once your light has a ppfd of 1000uml. You should be able to get as decent bud if you do things right. As you have fast version. And she mainly young and early into the flip. May I suggest you take all leafs of the nodes, (but just leaving 2 on top of each node for drawing in energy. Heres a link that will show you how to get long colas. A longer version of what I explained: https://www.growweedeasy.com/nebulas-flowering-stage-defoliation-tutorial If you want to increase your growing time. As with my fems I use a far red 730nm after lights out and it changes the photochrome (the time it takes a fems to sleep. From 2 hrs to 5mins) meaning you get 13.hrs of sunlight and 19.4hrs of darkness + the 5-10mins it takes to put them to sleep after the far red goes out. Read this will explain it better and increase your DLI by 10-20% which might not sound like a lot. But with the defoliation I just gave you link to will all play a part in your DLI. But these are environmental conditions to improved your DLI. Any fat red 730nm.. here's a lot more on what I takes about here that will increase the time your plant spends under light. Mars hydro do a good far red + a uv that you can use together or apart. It really speeds up the time in which fems take to flip as some times it can be 7-10 takes meir seen pistils i seen mine after day 3 and she looks much further ahead. Hope this helps. If you need to ask anything about. Feel free to DM me. Enjoy your grow.

When should I expect noticeable flowers to start forming after switching to 12/12? This strain is a photoperiodic fast-flowering strain of 7-8 weeks in bloom. It's been about 2 now, so just curious if it is typical to not see anything yet, and how long is too long. Thanks!

So usually after 14 days youโ€™d see some action but Iโ€™m thinking cuz you flipped only 30ish days into Veg could be the delay. The plant will not initiate flower until It has reached a certain sexual maturity basically - even if itโ€™s under 12/12 that whole time. Usually it will be around day 30-45 in my experience that its mature enough to initiate flower. Hope that made sense. Interesting thing is when you have a mother plant thatโ€™s 6 months old - clones from it will trigger so quick because of the age of the plant. Itโ€™s basically the โ€œtriggerโ€ time thatโ€™s delayed a bit cuz itโ€™s so young. But you should be seeing signs very soon or somethingโ€™s up

How do you get proper drainage? Using them in this grow with coco/perlite and another with soil, and unless I raise them on a rack the bottom stays wet because they sit in the runoff pan. A proper pot has a raised bottom with holes below. Maybe buy a few dish drying racks? Ideas?

@GrowingGrannie Yes, very interesting, and no, this is my first grow. I do have Happy Frog myco/humic acid soil that I am starting a separate veg cycle with in solo cups under a 4ft CFL, and those plants (same strain) seem much happier. And no, there are no autos...all photos. Thanks for the tips though. I have since propped them up with a few stacks of those tiny drinking fountain plastic cups under the pots with the tent door open and large box fan blowing (not directly) into the tent in the hopes I can evaporate the water quicker without it pooling on the bottom. The plan was to give them their first micro dose of Grow Big today, but I think I would rather give it 24 hours in this new airflow configuration before I add more moisture to the mix, because the plants are not telling me to feed or water them yet (due to probably what you suspected, because the taproot is happy with the water at the bottom). Thank you very much...this is my very first grow and I wanted to use coir because 1) less bugs 2) no nutes in substrate...i wanted to learn through trial and error the nutes needed through the different periods of growth for these 2 particular strains for a while. I plan on sticking with just these until I zone in on what works good for them, and I'm sure I can apply that knowledge with some adjustments to future strains.

@@resimax, I think your plan here is a very good one! As you go forward, just understand that growing in coco is much different than growing in soil so the two cannot be treated the same way... It does sound to me like you have at least grown SOMETHING in the past - that you're not a newbie gardener - and this is all to the good. Future reference for this silly site - there is a way to talk directly to other growers in a chat format ... there's a little paper airplane in the bottom right hand corner of your screen... (if it is green, it means you've got a message from someone). If you click on it, you can search for a grower and send them a message OR you can click on the grower's name wherever it appears and that will take you to their profile... from there, there's a "chat" button in the top right hand portion of the screen ... Good luck... I think you're off to a great start!

I really want this grow to be over. Too much went wrong in my first grow. My startup costs were too high and I could only afford 1 light and 1 tent. I want to setup a rotation of autoflowers so I don't have to wait so long between harvests. Unfortunately, I do not have any autoflower seeds. I have a small collection I am willing to trade for any autos. If anyone in the US is interested, send me a direct chat message and we can talk :) Thanks a lot. I am poor and would have liked a second light/tent, but that isn't going to be able to happen for quite a long time. Gotta make the wife happy and all.

Honestly. Looking at this diary, There is a lot you did good here. Every single one of us as a grower will make mistakes each crop. The important part is to learn from it and apply that knowledge in the next harvest. There are so many variables when growing cannabis that nobody can ever be a perfect grower or have a 100% perfect crop. We hope to attain that one day but it is a never ending. journey, Your temp's are looking good for the most part, Your plants look fairly healthy. I have seen a lot worse for first time diaries. In terms of your lights, Do you have any light pulleys like sun grip light pulleys ? Or even string you can use to lower the lights down closer to the plants a bit ? You can get PAR app's for your phone and read the PAR your plants receive from your lights fairly accurately with them. If you get the lights close enough even 100W LED's will do work, It is just about getting them within range to deliver their PAR. The large gaps between nodes & lower count of nodes tells me their lacking light intensity first and foremost. I think that is something to focus on that will yield great results for a minor change. Anything you need help with just shoot me a DM man.

Hey bud, love your grow. It's really nice to see someone else at the beginning of their journey, but really into it, like I am. :) Don't despair about this schedule, sure it is a fast flower, but the plant knows, and you can choose when to cut it. 7-8 weeks is not set in stone. This is a photoperiod plant and should therefore be quite resilient. If you want to see a plant that has no right to be doing what it is, take a look at "Karen" in my diaries. She was starved and under weak light for 3 weeks after I solved the problems she recovered and exploded... and she's an auto with a supposedly "fixed" schedule; nothing is fixed when it comes to life.
resimax
resimax
@UnorthadoxDude, that is quite interesting, although being an autoflowering cultivar doesn't necessarily mean that trait isn't recessive and could very well produce photoperiodic offspring once in a while, in the same way a feminized seed is not guaranteed to be a female. Like you said, nothing is fixed in life, not even an autoflowering mother producing 100% autoflowering dominant seeds.
