Heya Growmies!
This strain is one I have had in my collection for a while, In the Mephisto community, this one sort of became a favourite and as a result, its now part of Mephisto's permanent line up, this seed however is part of the original Illuminauto batches. I have been meaning to grow it, and I have tried twice before, both seeds failed to germinate, this might have been due to my inexperience at the time, as I got these seeds as a freebie when I first bought seeds.
I want to say I have gotten a better grower since then, and that's true, however, shortly after this girl popped out of the seedstarter, I dropped a 6 pound tent fan on her, snapping her stalk clean in half at day 1.
Normally I would just throw it away, but I really want this grow this supposed gem of a strain, so I hope you join me to see if she pulls through, I don't want to get ahead of myself, but the tentative plan is to use cloning (yes, cloning an Autoflower) and STS to reverse her. It's a great strain and if it can survive being snapped in half at day one, I see that as a good trait to pass on!
My equipment is mainly by Mars Hydro, I bought them with my own hard earned money, if you are interested in buying one of their lights or tents and would like a small discount and help me out, check out the link below !

Heya Growmies!
I dropped a 6 pound tent fan on her, snapping her stalk clean in half at day 1, so this week you can see her recovering from that event, her leaves look wacky. That said, she's only mildly stunted when it comes to actual growth, normally my seedlings are a bit bigger (and healthier) at day 8, but I assume the fan dropping on her caused her to have some issues developing her first leaves, leading to the weird variegation, that's my guess anyway. but I hope that some tender loving care and a near perfect environment will help this baby overcome and rise above.
Halfway through the week she looked ready to enter the bucket, It's a 19L Growrilla Oxyring DWC kit, which I have modified to also have an airstone, they serve me well, but I'm considering upgrading to 50L totes, it would fit my style of growing more I feel.
as expected, when transplanted to DWC, growth speed really increased, and the damage caused early on is becoming more evident.
the tentative plan is still to reverse her using silver thiosulfate, We'll take off her two lowest branches around week 3, and root them. Those clones will both be reversed to increase my chances of getting feminised pollen in time, success chances of getting viable seeds like this aren't even close to 90%, but I want to try regardless, normally, you would use 2 plants, start the first plant a little early and reverse it, and use its pollen to impregnate the second plant. When using just one plant like I am it all has to happen in a very tight time frame.
that's also why I will use cloning, the act of cloning usually causes the cloned branch to flower right away, we're banking on the mother not flowering for a little longer after taking the cuttings, then if we are lucky, we can use the pollen from the reversed clones on a single branch of the mother.
You also don't want to smoke plants that have been sprayed with STS, it is mobile within the plant and toxic to humans, cloning contains the STS to the clones, the mother will remain safe to smoke.
This is all depending on her pulling through, of course, but I hope you follow along if this project seems interesting to you.
Stay safe and keep growing.

Hey growmies,
Growth has been okay, however the growth is all variegated and funky looking.
My environment has been spot on and the only nutrients this girl is getting is calmag, so I am left to assume this weird growth is a result of being snapped in half.
Every node looks better than the last, i feel like she'll grow out of it. I just hope she doesn't enter flower right away as a result of the stress.
I'm experimenting with a camera in there, see if it can provide me with consistent timelapse footage, if this week's timelapse is a bit weird, that's the reason.
If you are wondering what the Hypochlorous acid in the nutrient list is, I'm using Calcium hypochlorite to combat pythium growth in my growbucket, as well as providing free chlorine for the plant to uptake. It's a very cheap and effective way to run a "Sterile" DWC run, although you have to be very careful when handling and dosing, if you want to know how I calculate my dose, leave a comment or send a message, I'm happy to help out. It's a great and cheap alternative to UC Roots.

Hey growmies,
It looks like she has recovered, and didn't enter flower. Signs of strong genetics right there.
I covered my hydroton to prevent algae, it works great.
I'm not sure if I can clone this one, her first weeks of life she was too focused on recovery, as a result the plant is a little stunted for its age, but I will re-assess next week, as she looks fine now. Just not sure how much time I have before flower.
Stay safe, warm and high. It's rough out there.

Heya Growmies,
explosion of growth this week, along with it the first signs of flower.
as a result I have made the choice to not clone this girl for reversal, and instead just enjoy her in her entirety.
she's fully recovered and bounced back now.
I would love to see a stretch!
Have a good one!

G'day Farmers,
Quite an eventful week, did a lot of training!
we've still only got preflowers, but I suspect this week will be the last week of Veg. I hope she starts stretching soon, she's still very short...
at the end of the week I moved her into my flower tent, The next week will be spend babying this girl, watching her reservoir like a hawk as I neglected that part this week.
Check back next week to see if we're still vegging!

Heya growmies.
She finally started stetching this week, unfortunatly in the middle of the week i dropped the fan on her AGAIN, and she broke and also lost a topside.
Once again, the plant didn't seem to mind, it happened during dark period so its not caught on camera, you can barely tell when it happened on the timelapse.
I leaftucked and LST'd almost every day of the week, you can see this on the timelapse, too
She got moved into the flowering tent this week.
hope you join me for flower!

Heya Farmers.
Lots of growth this week, as you can see in the video I had to do a ton of LST and defoliation!
This strain had a lot of hype surrounding it in the community, but here on growth diaries most of the plants looked rather small and flowered after 2 weeks, I'm glad mine seems to be a bit bigger!
she also already smells amazing, this early!
I'm a little scared as shes still quite short, but if I can get dense little buds, I prefer that over stretchy airy sativas, so I suppose I should be happy, but still, so dense, so much foliage.
Hope you join along to see how her flowers turn out, she's already showing some color in the tips of her flowers

Hey farmers.
She's still stretching, loads of defoliation this week.
The smells are getting truly intense, I am so excited to see the end result of this grow.
I feel like I should defoliate more still... maybe i will

How's it growing farmers?
She finally came through this week, showing me some of her potential.
we finally have stinky flowers and resin.
if you grow this strain in DWC and know what you are doing, top it at the fifth node, you will thank me. There's just too much foliage, I tried very hard with lollipopping and daily defoliations, yet there's still so much growth. if your aim is phat colas, this strain can deliver for sure, but you gotta top it.
That said, im sure im still going to get very pretty and very sticky flowers, I predict to harvest around day 90, this is day 63. We have a whole month to go, plenty of time for her to get even frostier and fatter.
I also added another trellis late this week, in futile attempt to expose more flower sites and reduce the chance of mold. doing this also reduces the overall rh in the tent, which im having some issues with right now.
I started feeding green sensation this week, and kept my EC close to 1.6, this turned out to be a mistake, overnight she brought that 1.6 down to 1 and made the Ph skyrocket, She clearly needed more so I increased the dose to 2 EC later in the week, this is on the high end for me personally, especially for autoflowers, lets see how she responds to it next week.
I stopped my Hypochloric acid too, Green sensation has enzymes in it, and i'm not sure how chlorine acts with it, it seemed to make my water cloudy, if anyone knows why, let me know, for now its cold enough to run sterile without chlorine...

How's it growing farmers?
Oh my god, she kjust kept stretching, idk what's going on. She's so massive.
I deffo need to defoliate, ill have mold issues.
she drinks half the bucket every day, Early on in the week I had some Light burn, moved my lights up all the way

Yo Farmers,
in the plant's 11th week, I had to take some drastic measures to keep her healthy and thriving. First off, I did some major defoliation by plucking a ton of her fan leaves from the lower and middle sections. That way, she could get better airflow and light penetration. It's still not perfect, but we tried.
Then, I had to apply some high stress training since the plant was stretching like crazy. It was like she was trying to reach the moon or something.
Anyway, during my inspection, I noticed some damage on the leaves close to the light. It could have been from light burn, Calmag issues, or a phosphorus deficiency. To fix it, I adjusted the distance of the light and fed her a high PK nutrient solution to boost her phosphorus levels and nutrient uptake. Gotta keep the girl fed, right?
All in all, it was a lot of work, but it was worth it. The plant's still growing strong and looking better than ever.
Hey farmers,
Week 12 was pretty chill compared to the previous one. My plant is starting to look and smell like the real deal with all that stickiness and aroma. The buds are getting bigger too, but I can't help but worry about the foliage. I think I might have let it grow too much, but it's too late to do anything about it now.
On top of that, I'm pretty sure the leaf damage is from the LED light burn again. Unfortunately, I can't do much to fix it since I've already maxed out my vertical space. But hey, at least I know what the problem is, right? To try and counteract it, I decided to reduce the feed this week since I noticed some nutrient pooling. Hopefully, that will help prevent any more damage from happening. All in all, the plant seems to be doing well and I'm excited to see how she turns out in the end.
Heya farmers,
not much to update, the buds are fattening up, its late flower, the tent REEKS.
very sticky flowers!
Waiting for about 10% amber on my trichomes, we've got 100% clear still.
Hey farmers, it's week 14 and my Mephisto Genetics Ghost Toof is nearing harvest time! This week, I spent a lot of time tweaking nutrient dosages as the plant seems to be ramping down in her desire for food. It's important to adjust nutrient dosages during the late stages of flowering to ensure that the plant doesn't overfeed and negatively affect the final product.
I also took a close look at the trichomes, you can see them pictured above. While most of the trichomes are still clear, I did notice some amber trichomes have appeared. This means that harvest time is near, and I'll be keeping a close eye on my plant over the next week.
Overall, I'm thrilled with how my Mephisto Genetics Ghost Toof has grown over the past few weeks, and I'm excited to see how the final product turns out. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated on the harvest process.
As always, stay safe and happy farming!
Hey farmers,
It's day 107 and I'm going to call it done, there's a few amber trichomes and she could probably go ANOTHER week but I need my flower tent.
This plant went way overtime, and I made a lot of mistakes, but she smells great and one thing is for sure, I'll have a ton of weed in a few weeks.
So, this week I flushed and next week I will harvest, the next update to this diary will be post dry, but before cure. As tradition, I'll have a sneaky taste before putting her in jars.
For my next cycle I will be upgrading my lights to Mars Hydro FCE 3000, going from 150w to a whopping 300w. I'll probably get a 3x3 in the near future, too.
As always, stay safe and happy farming!
This plant can take a beating, I broke her in half on day one and still got 254g of flower. I disagree with her being a beginner strain, at least in DWC, this plant is massive and requires masterful LST skills to keep her tamed without topping.
If I had known this plant would veg for close to 7 weeks, I would have topped her.
Smoke, aroma and high are all top notch, this is weed any grower is going to love to have in their jars, It's no wonder this is a favourite in the Mephisto community. If you can get your hands on some seeds, do yourself a favor and grow some ghost toof, a favourite of many. Myself Included.
Solid 9/10.
Hey Farmers.
Another successful harvest! Let's start off with the weigh in.
This time around we got 207 grams of bud, none of which I would qualify as top shelf.
We also got 47 grams worth of larf, which is a lot, and lastly we have 22 grams of frosty trim.
I will be more specific about the taste and feel of the plant in the smoke comment below.
I dried her in cardboard boxes, the total dry time ended up taking 10 days.
I got a very nice rootball, especially when compared to my early days. I'm using Calcium hypochlorite to combat pythium growth in my growbucket, as well as providing free chlorine for the plant to uptake. It's a very cheap and effective way to run a "Sterile" DWC run, although you have to be very careful when handling and dosing, if you want to know how I calculate my dose, check below. It's a great and cheap alternative to UC Roots.
for Calcium Hypochlorite I use HTH Pool shock, its 67% Chlorine, don't just buy HTH pool shock, as its contents vary by country, try and buy pure Calcium Hypochlorite with 70% chlorine from an online Lab supply store, its dirt cheap and 1 KG will last you a lifetime for less than 40 bucks,
i aim for 2ppm of free Chlorine in my reservoir, this will slow down growth of bacteria, and is still relatively low in dose so our root hairs don't take too much damage.
ALWAYS Check the chlorine of your Calcium Hypochlorite, Mines 67%
the following is the calculations I use, feel free to adjust the formulas to your needs:
2 ppm chlorine from 67% strength Calcium Hypochlorite and I want to fill an empty 2 litre bottle with 0.5% Chlorine which will serve as my stock solution
(2000x0,5) / 67 = 14,9
14,9 grams of 67% strength Calcium Hypochlorite to get a 2L Chlorine bottle with 0.5% strength
!! Be careful with this Stock bottle. 0.5% Doesn't sound like a lot, but it is HIGHLY corrosive and will give you chemical burns !!
I then want to turn that stock bottle with 5000mg Chlorine per litre into 2mg/litre which is 2 ppm.. (There are 1,000,000 milligrams (mg) in 1 litre (L))
(0,0002x1000) / 0,5 = 0.4
which is 0.4, so 0.4 ml of the stock solution per litre of water then gets me 2mg/l total chlorine in my plant buckets
note that I don't use this in late flower once I start feeding Green sensation. mainly because Green sensation is 80% bio and I'm not sure how well the two would work together and at this point, roots no longer grow anyway and pythium is unlikely if you're a little smart in the final weeks
