Welcome to Growdiaries Grow 16. This grow is going to be different from my previous ones. Some FastBuds fast flowering seeds have landed through my letter box, big thanks to Heather from @Fast_Buds your a star. I'm really looking forward to trying these out. If you want information on these fast flowering versions from fastbuds have a look in the breeder section on this site or visit there main website. I haven't grown a photoperiod for quite a while so it will good to get back into it. I haven't decided on what I'm going to do training wise but I'm only going to run 3 strains this grow and try and fill my tent with the 3 plants. If these grow as quickly as Fastbuds autoflowers do then i may not do a long Veg cycle, but I'll flip to 12/12 when I feel happy with how much space they take up. During my last grow I got chatting to a grower called Theia (check out his diaries), and the dude told me how he managers to keep good conditions going in his grow room remotely. Very simple bit of kit that doesn't cost much, easily expandable, and can be controlled remotely. I took the advice and bought the temperature/humidity sensor and the 8 WiFi plugs he recommended. I ran my previous grow for the last few weeks using this system and it made a massive difference from controlling devices with timers. Having to guess how long to run a humidifier or dehumidifier or radiator for is now gone thanks to this. These devices are now connected to an app called smart life and I can see them and set parameters anywhere in the world. The sensor will remotely trigger devices to turn on or off depending on the settings I use. New parts to setup. New carbon filter. Wifi temperature/humidity sensor. Wifi plug (for light) Wifi plug (for radiator) Wifi plug (for humidifier or dehumidifier) Wifi plug (for automatic feeds) Wifi plug (for automatic drainage) This grow is going to consist of. #1 Fastbuds Wedding Cheesecake FF #2 Fastbuds Tropicana Cookies FF #3 Fastbuds Gorilla Cookies FF This diary is focused on. #2 Tropicana Cookies FF Preparation Friday 13/1/23 prep day 1 Mixed up 24L of biobizz light mix with 5ml per litre ecothrive charge. @Inganjawetrust, really simple mate. Bucket with water/nutes, water pump, tubing, 4way manifold, drip emitters. Suck all the Run off out the saucers with a big ass syringe. Need to sort that out to be automatic.

Holy cow! Those leaves are humongous! This is another strain I'm getting... guess I'll have to prepare for VERY bushy grows! Congrats!!

@GrowingGrannie, yep expect big bushes, explosive growth and not much hassle.

@GrowingGrannie, this one and the cheesecake are big bushes. I'm a week behind on my diaries, just finished 1st week of 12/12 and she has got way more bushy.

I messed up and accidentally got Trop Cookies autoflowers. So, i'm going to live vicariously through your grow. It's looking great so far! I'm excited to see how these fast flowers finish. Good luck, bruv!

@ernest_twwg, she is bushy mate, real bushy. I don't have the space so I'm glad I flipped to flower when I did. I could imagine another few weeks in veg and she would have filled the tent on her own.

Great notes. Good to see someone else has a love of VPD charts. I have a custom spreadsheet in google sheets that graphs my VPD. I also have a lung room vs tent comparison with weather conditions added as well. I am currently charting annual VPD conditions for "paradise" growing locations such as The Emerald Triangle in California, Hindu Kush Mountains, Thai Highlands, etc.

@NegotiatedBubble, that's a good idea with the IR
NegotiatedBubble
NegotiatedBubblecommented2 years ago
@Hashy, the camera sensors on phones are the best option without buying something like an ePar meter. Stretch occurs during early flower naturally (varies by genetics). To induce stretching, one would need to increase the amount of far-red light (IR) to activate the plant's shade avoidance system. The ratio of red light to far-red light determines this. Check out Bruce Bugbee's "Far-red: The Forgotten Photons" YouTube video. I actually cover up the IR diodes on my lights during early flowering to keep the stretch in check.

@NegotiatedBubble, also I think they put the low DLi in early flower to promote stretching.

@ironf1st, it's advertised as 28% thc and I'd says it's up there if not beyond that figure.

Hashycommented2 years ago
@ironf1st, lol I'm literally half way through my 1st joint of it. Iv not tried the auto version of this strain so I don't know how it would compare to it but I'm getting a very sweet taste from it, like a bit fruity as well maybe citrus. Its bloody nice I'll give it that, pretty damn strong as well.
