Welcome to Growdiaries Grow 16.
This grow is going to be different from my previous ones. Some FastBuds fast flowering seeds have landed through my letter box, big thanks to Heather from @Fast_Buds your a star. I'm really looking forward to trying these out. If you want information on these fast flowering versions from fastbuds have a look in the breeder section on this site or visit there main website.
I haven't grown a photoperiod for quite a while so it will good to get back into it. I haven't decided on what I'm going to do training wise but I'm only going to run 3 strains this grow and try and fill my tent with the 3 plants.
If these grow as quickly as Fastbuds autoflowers do then i may not do a long Veg cycle, but I'll flip to 12/12 when I feel happy with how much space they take up.
During my last grow I got chatting to a grower called Theia (check out his diaries), and the dude told me how he managers to keep good conditions going in his grow room remotely. Very simple bit of kit that doesn't cost much, easily expandable, and can be controlled remotely.
I took the advice and bought the temperature/humidity sensor and the 8 WiFi plugs he recommended. I ran my previous grow for the last few weeks using this system and it made a massive difference from controlling devices with timers. Having to guess how long to run a humidifier or dehumidifier or radiator for is now gone thanks to this. These devices are now connected to an app called smart life and I can see them and set parameters anywhere in the world. The sensor will remotely trigger devices to turn on or off depending on the settings I use.

The 1st week has been OK. I have managed to keep the VPD in check throughout the week with the aim of keeping it between 0.4 and 0.8
I remembered the WiFi sensor doesn't constantly communicate with the app mid way through the week so managed to dial things in closer to the end of the week. How the sensor works is when the temp moves 0.5c from its last sent reading it then transmits the new reading or if RH moves 5% since last sent reading.
The DLI was a little on the low side for the week as 2 strains stretched and toppled over.
#3 Gorilla Cookies FF has done OK this week, again this one stretched a little due to the light strength not being high enough, next time I'll aim for 12DLI at soil level to prevent it happening again. Development wise she is exactly where I would expect her to be.

Again it's been a fairly productive week with the grow. Didn't quite hit my VPD target but I wasn't far from it. There is enough foliage that I managed to remove the humidifier from the tent.
#3 Gorilla Cookies FF has come on great this week. Like the Tropicana Cookies she has shot up this week and has big leaves, because of this I also attempted to fim to slow her down a bit. Out of the 3 strains in the tent this one seems to have droopy leaves a good few hours before lights out, as if it's had enough for the day and gone to bed. I don't think it's got any issues but I'll keep a closer eye on this one. One more week of Veg I feel before 12/12.

This week has been fairly productive, I decided to put a net over the grow to keep the canopy as level as possible. Had a slight accident on one plant. Conditions seem to be fine, I could do with increasing the VPD a bit more and I should have increased the light intensity the day I put the net on.
#3 Gorilla Cookies FF didn't appreciate me snapping the main stem when I put the net on during the week. The stem was only just still attached, so I put some surgical tape over it and hope it can heal, by the end of the week the broken top looked like it was improving.Today is the last day of Veg and I'm flipping the light schedule to 12/12 tomorrow morning.

The 1st week of flower has flown by. I'm quite happy with how things have gone with the grow so far. The environmental system seems to be keeping conditions a lot closer then I could manage using guess work and timers, probably the best investment I have made for growing.
#3 Gorilla Cookies FF has recovered completely from the accident last week, considering the top was only hanging on by a few fibres the job I did with the tape has held her together quite well. She has been spread out under the net this week to keep her height in check. She has been defoliated during the week and her lowers that won't see the light have been removed. She started showing pistils at the end of the week.

The 2nd week of flower has gone well. I have tried to keep the canopy of the overall grow as level as I can, the only problem with running different strains is they all have different traits and grow at different speeds. Nearer the end of the week the weather started getting cold again so the radiator is going to be working a bit more over the next week or 2.
#3 Gorilla Cookies FF is just mega, she has been stretching so much throughout the grow and has 90Deg bends all over, a snapped main, a few damages sides but not as fucked as the main and she is still doing champion. Its been hard work keeping her the level of the others but she has a shit load of space, way more then the other 2 strains.

That's the 3rd week of flower done, grow wise everything is ticking along nicely. The weather took a turn for the worse this week so the radiator has been working a lot. All 3 pants are showing pistils but 2 of them are still quite squat and bushy. I have been lifting the light to try and get the short ones to stretch a bit more.
#3 Gorilla Cookies FF has had even more abuse this week to keep her low, major bends here there and everywhere but within a few hours everything is back to how it was before I bent the colas. For the abuse iv been giving her she is a champion.

I'm a bit late with the updates as I have been assembling another tent into my grow room. I hardly any space to move in there now but at least I have a veg tent now and a flower tent. Keep your eyes open for another set of diaries coming out soon.

Growing it.
Out of this grow she was the tallest and had to be trained hard to try and keep her level with the others. I did 90 deg bends, snapped the main and had to tape it up, she had loads of abuse thrown at her and did great. She had the right amount of veg time, any more then that and the others wouldnt have stood a chance of getting any space. This strain was a pleasure to grow and she had no problems at all, it was a beast. The lights got flipped to 12/12 on day 29 and this was showing pistils on day 36 of the grow so she took 7 days to transition into flower. She took 59 days from pistils to harvest.
Trim wise she was the easiest to trim, she had a good amount of sugar leaves and only a few airy buds on the lowers because of lack of light, about 5g worth. She also produced a few seeds in the lower airy buds, this is due to a light leak in the tent which caused some lowers to hermie and polinate this one and a bit of the Tropicana Cookies FF, only 10 seeds so no big deal. I have sorted out the light leak for the next lot to be flowered.
This was my 1st photoperiod grow on growdiaries and I'm glad I tried these Fast flowering photoperiods for it. Big thanks to Heather and the Fastbuds team. I have grown the Gorilla Cookies auto before so this photoperiod fast version has something to live up to. She grew way taller then i was expecting, hence the many bends and breaks. To be honest she was great to grow and the favourite plant of the grow. Because this grow was going so good I decided to switch back to photoperiods for the next few grows i just wish i had left her in veg for 1 more week.

@ironf1st, I found a app on my phone called notes, I now document everything in that as I usually have my phone on me when checking. I then copy and paste the relevant information into my diary. Life has become a bit easier that way.

How do you manage to have two different setts of setting for radiator & humidifer, one sett for lights on and another one for lights off? What is the gadget you are using for it?
In my mind I will need to have two radiators and humidifer, one of each for lights on and one of each for lights off. But I assume you are using some climate control gadget for that

Also, what will happen if you temporaly lose internet conection at your grow place? I assume you will only not be able to change the settings but the system (radiator, dehumidifier) would still operate under current setting?

@Vlada, there is a WiFi temperature/humidity sensor in the tent, all equipment are connected to WiFi plugs. The app smart life is where the magic happens. I have set parameters in the app, lights get switched on at 06.00 am and off at 00.00, the parameters for the radiator and humidifier are set to be triggered petween 06.01 and 23.59 then I have a different set of parameters set between 00.01 and 05.59 for lights out. So I use 1 radiator and 1 humidifier but depending on the time of day to what triggers them off.
Looking nice 💚💨✌️🏻 How far are the phenos from each other ? Did they all start to flower in the same time ? I am just growing out gorilla cookies auto I have 4 phenos and they are all in different stages one finishes around 9 weeks the other around 10-11 weeks the next one 12 weeks and the last one probably like 13-14 weeks all together. I am thinking of trying the gorilla cookies fast flowering but I am worried it will be similar with the phenos and there might be only one which really takes 7 weeks and the others take much longer, if they are 8 weeks max i wouldnt mind too 🤷♂️✌️🏻 what do you think ?
@FacelessGardens, hi mate, they all flowered very closely together, the gorilla cookies was the 1st to start with the pistils then a few days later it was the wedding cheesecakes turn and a few days after that it was the topicana cookies Turn. I'd say they all started pumping out pistils within a week of each other. I'm a good few weeks ahead in the grow to where my diaries are at and I'm thinking the gorilla cookies is going to be the 1st to finish and the wedding cheesecake and Tropicana Cookies so far look like they will finish together about a week or slightly longer after the gorilla cookies.
@GrowingGrannie, this one is pretty damn good. Snapped the main and it was hanging on by a few fibres, taped up and has carried on growing no problem, maybe a few days to recover.

@FacelessGardens, I'm a bit behind on my diaries, I have just started week 9 of flower and the gorilla cookies is ready for harvest, the wedding cheesecake is a few days behind that and the Tropicana Cookies is a few days behind the cheesecake. I could have harvested the gorilla cookies at the end of week 8 but I'm going leave it till end week 9. All should definitely be harvested before end of week 10.
