Hello and welcome to the Chemdog D S1! I'm very excited to be growing the Chemdog D this run. The guys over at Humboldt CSI are amazing breeders and have been doing great work preserving and refining some of the most classic cultivars out there. To be completely honest, the reason why I went with the Chemdog D was due to a bag of really fire weed I got a long time ago that was supposedly Chemdog D (or chemdog diesel?). Wanting to get my hands on some of that fire, I started doing alot of research surrounding the chemdog/chemdawg lines and came to the conclusion that I'm probably never going to find that mysterious bag of weed again, lol. That's not gonna stop me from trying though, god damnit! Out of all the breeders and lines that I found, Humboldt CSI's Chemdog D is the one that is most likely the same as that fire bag of weed I got back in the day. Best case scenario it is, and I now have access the the dopest of dope. Worst case scenario, its not the dope I'm looking for but I still get rewarded with some fire weed anyway. I vividly remember the Chemdog D despite it being so long ago. It smelled up the entire block. I remember it being wrapped in layers and layers of plastic wrap and stuffed into like 3 backpacks and then like a beer cooler. It didn't make a difference. When you took it out, no joke you could smell it across the street. It was by far the most pungent cannabis I ever had the pleasure of of smelling. The effects were incredible. The high came as a rush to the head, giving you energy, creativity, positivity, and euphoria. It was a super intense giggly, fun type high at the beginning, and as it went on, it changed from an energetic head high to a very heavy body high. After about an hour or so, the body settles into a low vibration, calming you and making you relaxed, sleepy, and content. By far the most complex high I've ever had. I digress. I usually use NASC to source my seeds, but this time I used attitude as they apparently have a company based in my country now. Speaking of attitude, they hooked me up with so many freebies and the shipping was pretty quick. I told them to draw a wizard on the box/shipping package and they actually did it! Those fucking madmen over there are great and I would definitely recommend them at the time of this writing. For this run, I will be running both the Lemon Orange and the Chemdog D (CSI Humboldt) in the same tent. As usual, I will keep the diaries separate for simplicity's sake (and so you don't have to scroll through diaries/images of a plant you don't care about.) I am going to veg both plants out in my veg tent as I finish up my current two plants in my flower tent. Once the flower tent is empty, I will be moving the Lemon Orange and Chemdog D to the flower tent. My flower tent is a 3x3 Ac Infinity tent (Ive got all the swag too) with a Mars Hydro FC-E3000. I germinated the plants via Glass of Water/Paper Towel method. The seed gets 24 hours in the glass of water, and then gets placed into a wet paper towel. I place the paper towel between two dinner plates to keep the moisture in. A few days later, and voila! We have a taproot! Unfortunately the Chemdog D's taproot started to grow in a spiral, making transplanting a bit annoying and stressful. That being said, I did my best to get her into the soil taproot down and she sprouted just a few days later! My initial soil mix is 50% Happy Frog, 50% Light Warrior and a little bit of worm castings. I usually just place seedlings into pure Happy Frog in the past, but I'm not too thrilled about the consistency of Happy Frog right out of the bag. There's a bunch of large woodchips that end up getting in the way, and in my opinion hampers initial root growth. I'm not completely sold on this however, which is why I'm changing it up. 😀 Looking forward to growing these girls!

What are you thoughts on the strange coloration and twisted growth on my Chemdog D's leaves? It looks like Tobacco Mosaic Virus but I'm 99% sure its not that. I am certain it is just genetics but would love to hear some opinions, especially if you've grown similar genetics.

I have been told that Chem lineage is known for having this discoloration. There are also other mosaic viruses besides TMV that could be the culprit

I run by humidifier with the calcium deposits in my water as well I think I just get lucky I don’t get the white specs…also very meticulous about cleaning all of my stuff. My issue is holding humidity even with a humidifier it’s so dry here been around 20% can only get my tent up to around 31-34…max 40% in these cold false Illinois winters. Girls are growing pretty damn good and I got the same temps. You should be good I think 👍🏼

@BeiingBreeziie, Yeah, the dust gets over everything: the walls of the tent, the wires, inside the clip fans, the plants etc so I just gave up on it. Don't feel like purchasing gallons of distilled water so I'll have to wait until I get an evaporative humidifier to replace my ultrasonic humidifier with. Its a bit of a bummer, but the plants seem to be doing just fine. 😀 The winters here are very dry and the summers are very wet, so I'll be having the opposite issue where I live very soon. Thanks for the comment and good luck!

@Brasco, Yeah, no problems really with her the whole grow! Glad it wasn't anything serious as she was a killer when finished! I would like to learn more about the Chemdog D's lineage and quirks but its seems like there's either conflicting or not enough information out there publicly. Thanks for the confirmation though friend.

I could be wrong but your leaves look like signs of sickness / virus which usually is in genetics or poor grow environment and lately 90% of the time it’s the breeders handing out infected seeds. With virus the spots / markings on leaves will over lap the stems & veins. Where a deficiency it skips over the stems and veins

@BeiingBreeziie, That's what I initially thought, but it doesn't seem that the symptoms are spreading to my other plant in the same tent. I was under the impression that viruses only really spread through clones so its worrying that seeds can do it as well. I'm pretty sure its just a mutation as I've read S1s are prone to mutation and I hope I'm right. Gunna have the clean the tent really good after harvest 😀. Thanks for the kind words as well.

Everything you seem to be doing is excellent! So I blame genetics/ breeder not caring / catching it
