Morning 4/17/23 - After 36 hours of soak a tap root was just popping the shell. Placed in soil in a solo cup.
Morning 4/19/23 - First Cheese seed is above ground. It looked like it pushed itself out of the soil and only a tip of root was going down. I've never seen that. The helmet was still on. I gathered a bit of soil around the exposed root and light compressed soil on top. I hope that was enough to get the root going down. I soaked a total of 4 Cheese seeds and I will take the best. All 4 sprouted tap roots and are in seed starting soil in solo cups.
I DEDICATE THIS GROW TO FRANCO LOJA. Your passion and drive has inspired me to grow and never stop appreciating and advocating for the legalization of cannabis free from government control so the people can flourish and be happy. I miss seeing you Strain Hunt around the world and find some smelly pheno that you stick your nose into with amazement. https://greenhousebrands.com/franco-loja-foundation/
Morning 4/20/23 - Happy 4:20! Day #1, I removed the humidity dome. I want those leaves to spread and start breathing. I am so excited for this strain from Green House Seed Co. I've been a fan of their genetics since the early 90's when they dominated High Times covers with Cannabis Cup wins.
Evening 4/21/23 - Swapped light source from Two Bar LED for cloning, which was weak and led to a bit of stretch to a Fluorowing CFL lamp. The fluorowing is great for photosynthesis, dark green leaves and keeping the internodal spacing noice n toight.
Morning 4/24/23 - Day 4, Took photo. It look like second set of true leaf is emerging but they a slightly dark shade of color to them.
Morning 4/26/23 - Day 6, Took photo. I like the red shade its got going.
Morning 4/28/23 - Day 8, Took Photo. This GH Cheese is not growing quite as fast as my other seedlings. It still looks healthy. It's roots are looking nice as well. I love the red midrib and veins. It almost looks like blood. Maybe this Cheese is an animal.
Mid Day 4/29/23 - Day 9, Transplanted in 6.6 Gallon AutoPots using Build A Soil 3.0 Recipe and I added some rice hulls for a bit more fluff.
Morning 5/5/23 - Day 15. I believe Cheese has finally recovered from the transplant. I think I did it a bit too early. I've been on a 24 hour lights on schedule. It helps keep the tent temperature stable.
Morning 5/12/23 - Day 22. I am not really happy with the slow growth. These Autopots are tall and I have not watered since transplanting in the hopes the roots drive deep. The pots do feel like they are getting lighter.
Morning 5/15/23 - Day 25. Yesterday I watered and added some SF Beneficial Nematodes and Recharge. Cheese seems to have liked it.
Morning 5/26/23 - Day 36. Took photo. Last night I defoliated the largest fan leaves to get light to the lower tops. This morning it's looking perky. I moved the lights up and increased to 75% power. I increased the intake and exhaust fans CFM.
Morning 6/2/23 - Day 43. Took Photo. I turned off the AutoPot reservoir valve so that the pot bottoms are dry. I plan to top water and feed tomorrow morning. I have been clipping fan leaves that cover tops below them and removing lower branching growth off of the main branches. I am working on getting healthy tops but keeping leaves to help the plant breathe and grow a healthy root system. I also do not want to over stress the plant.
Morning 6/6/23 - Day 47. Flipped to 12/12. Today will be Day 1 of 12/12.
Morning 6/7/23 - Day 48. Took Photos. Day 2 of 12/12. I added a dehumidifer last night and it got about 1/4" of water and did nothing the RH in the tent.
Morning 6/30/23 - Day 71. The Cheese is finally developing flowers. I think it has been on 12/12 for about four weeks now, wth. The Cheese is also only 3 days behind the Grimm Mints in total days above ground. She's just a late bloomer.
Morning 7/2/23 - Day 73. I top dressed with Build A Soil Craft Blend and Build A Flower Topdress.
Morning 7/6/23 - Day 77. I've been watering from the top every morning just a bit to get the feeder roots fed.
Morning 7/18/23 - Day 89. The Cheese is finally building flowers. It seemed like it paused for two weeks at the beginning of flower. I'd say it is about 2 weeks behind the Grimm Mints. Trichomes are developing nicely now too.
The Cheese really transformed in the last week. The top calyxes got that fatty tear drop shape. Nearly all pistils were orange. You had to search for white pistils. About midway down each bud most of the trichomes were cloudy and a few ambers were speckled about.
This thing smells amazing. No cheese smell though. They're chopped and hung in the dry tent with coat hangers. A humidifier has been set to 60%RH. I have a small desk fan aimed at the door to circulate air while being direct at the buds. I also have a carbon filter and inline fan set outside the tent and ducted in to blast fresh filtered air for 15 minutes once an hour. I have one bottom screened vent open on the tent to allow for constant passive air exchange and for an exhaust opening for when the carbon filter blasts air to prevent too much positive pressure on the tent. The carbon filter is set outside the vented bottom tent opening to create a circular flow and help filter the stink.
