8/28:
She's my last CC bean out of the original 7 that I received. (only ordered 5). I will not be ordering any more of them, but it is really good bud, so I figured why not..
I had 2 out of 3 seeds germinate last grow, and only 1 out of 4 this time....if they hadn't sent me the two freebies I might not have even been successful at all last time...
I will FIM this one to try and increase the yield a little...
She's in the 5gal tall black plastic pot with the white zip-tie loops on both sides.
THURSDAY 9/6:
She's growing...getting misted regularly...
I'll fertilize her tomorrow.
FRIDAY:
I held off on the nutes and just gave her water today.
SATURDAY:
She got her first taste of nutrients today..big bloom, grow big, calimagic, bud candy, terpinator, and boomerang...plus she's getting foliar fed with flower's kiss every time I pass by the room.
SUNDAY:
Regular foliar feeding only today..she's not super vigorous, but she's showing me very steady, noticeable growth.
MONDAY:
Busy with harvesting another plant, but she got foliar fed a couple times and I added 2 x 4ft 38w cool white LED tube lights and a 2.9ft pink tube light to the sides of the tent.
TUESDAY:
Lowered the blue/white panels a little and gave her some ph'd water with diluted flower's kiss to drink and foliar fed a couple times.
I added an Exhale bag to this tent, so in addition to getting the exhausted CO2 from the big tent (which has an XL bag and a regular Exhale bag) they're getting their own direct shot of growth gas...the breather patch on the bag is about 2 inches above and 2 inches behind this plant 😲
WEDNESDAY:
I fed her about 30oz of nutes today...strongest batch yet. She's put on a little size this week, but she's still behind all the WW's (another effin' dwarf I suspect) Foliar fed her a couple times today.
THURSDAY 9/13:
She liked the nutes yesterday..put on 2 inches in growth overnight and her lower branches are starting to stretch out a little.
I added about 40 more watts of LED light to the tent today..a little warmer spectrum, and started kicking on the primary light for about an hour an afternoon. I can't do more yet because my clones are in the same tent and need higher humidity...the primary light requires major ventilation, which dries it out too quickly. I like keeping it heavy in the blue spectrums anyway..they really stack up nicely which makes for bigger colas.
FRIDAY:
I split 2 gallons of ph'd water with a little boomerang and bud candy between her and the other 16 small tent occupants.
She was misted with nutes a few times today.
SATURDAY:
She put on a little height today, and started flowering...but still not big enough for FIMing. Maybe tomorrow.
3 foliar feedings today.
SUNDAY:
She's already too far along to FIM, so she'll be whatever she'll be.
She got about 30oz of ph'd water with full strength nutes today and several foliar feedings throughout the day.
Added more light to the tent.
MONDAY:
Another dwarf..she's gonna be nothing but a cola. None of her lower branches grew and they are all just budding up at the main stalk.😟
TUESDAY:
I added more light to the tent today and another bag of Exhale XL, so that's 2 x 365''s and 1 x XL in a 4 x 4 tent. 😲
Even with heavy blue spectra on her she stretched 3 inches overnight, and still no lower branches grew at all. Stupid plant.😕
I gave her about 30 oz of ph'd water with calimagic, bud candy, terpinator, and boomerang.
WEDNESDAY:
Not much upward growth today..she's just budding up..gonna be nothing but a 10" cola I think..😕
THURSDAY 9/21:
She's stretching like crazy, so she won't even make a good cola. She put on about 4 inches overnight, and still not one branch has left the main stalk. This plant is such a dumbass. 😔I can't believe I wasted 5 gallons of perfectly good soil on this plant..she could've grown in a fuckin dixie cup, ffs.
FRIDAY:
More of the same....or lack thereof.
Very disappointing...😣
SATURDAY:
On Thursday I bemoaned having wasted 5 gallons of soil on this ridiculous dwarf of a plant, but what's even worse is that I've wasted hours documenting it's near-worthless life on this page. 😠
SUNDAY:
No change...💩 plant.
MONDAY:
I fed her about 60oz of ph'd water and started the bloom regimen..cut back on grow big and big bloom, added tiger bloom, kangaroots, microbe brew and started her on open sesame.
TUESDAY:
She continues to stretch, so maybe she'll produce a half ounce after all...😶..lame....
WEDNESDAY:
I gave her about 60oz of ph'd water with calimagic, bud candy, and terpinator. Foliar fed her twice and berated her in front of all the other plants.😉
THURSDAY 9/27:
Foliar fed her twice and chastised her for being such a boring plant.
FRIDAY:
I fed her about 40oz of nutrient-rich water at 6.2 ph and misted her a few times.
SATURDAY:
I foliar fed her and moved her to a different spot today. Her buds are fattening up quickly. I just wish she had gotten bigger before she started flowering..
SUNDAY:
watered her a little
MONDAY:
took a photo ..she bores me.
TUESDAY:
eh...
WEDNESDAY:
eh..
THURSDAY 10/4:
I'm starting to think that it would be easier to grow 15 of these in 3 gallon pots than 8 bushier plants in 5 gallon pots. Her footprint in the garden is no bigger than the pot itself. 15 x 0.5oz would still be a pretty good harvest....just the additional cost of additional beans to factor.
FRIDAY:
I fed her about a half gallon of nutrient-rich water ph'd to 6.25..started her on beastie bloomz and increased terpinator and bud candy while decreasing grow big(N). She got foliar fed a few times and relocated to another spot in the garden.
SATURDAY:
Foliar fed and spun her around.
SUNDAY:
Still moist..will water tomorrow. Spun her around and foliar fed her a few times.
MONDAY:
Still moist...waiting until tomorrow to water. Foliar fed her a few times and took a few photos.
TUESDAY:
She's also suffering from the radical PH fluctuation when I fed the last. Sorry darling...😏
I watered her with extra boomerang and foliar fed her a few times.
WEDNESDAY:
I foliar fed her many times today..trying to green her back up a little.
THURSDAY:
I foliar fed her several times today and rotated.
FRIDAY:
I gave her about 3/4 of a gallon of bloom nutes and foliar fed her 4 or 5 times.
SATURDAY:
We had a cold snap and I hadn't shut off the vent to the tent, so she got blasted with warm central heat all night, on top of the already 89 degree temps..got up to 100F for a few hours...ouch...she was a little wilted looking today. I'm pulling in 45F air into the tent from outdoors now, but the damage was done. Foliar fed a few times and rearranged.
SUNDAY:
She was still heat stressed and burnt looking today..I watered her with about 1/3 gallon of ph'd water with calimagic, terpinator, bud candy, and a lot of boomerang to try to help her with her PH and temperature stress.😢
MONDAY:
Foliar fed her a few times..she really looks like shit and I'm feeling guilty about hurting her...(so sorry, darling)😕
At least she's getting close to finished..I'll put the UVB on her tomorrow.
TUESDAY:
Foliar fed her a few times and took some close-up photos so as to inspect her progress....she looks to be about 50/50 clear/cloudy, but just a few ambers so far.
THURSDAY 10/18:
She continues to swell up and is starting to get frosty.
I rotated her and gave her about 3/4 gallon of full-strength bloom nutes plus extra boomerang. I also added GH's Armor Si to the mix to try to deal with the heat and ph stress from last week. I will continue supplementing with it from now on since I can't be trusted to provide stable PH and comfortable temperatures for my ladies.
FRIDAY:
Added silica to the foliar spray nutes and am lightly spraying her every so often. Rotated her and lowered the UVB a little to hit her nether-regions.
SATURDAY:
Rotated her and lightly sprayed her a few times. Took some glamour shots today-
She's a sexy little thing 😻
SUNDAY:
Rotated her and lightly sprayed her a few times, then I used a magnifying glass and tweezers to find and remove the feline and homo-sapiens hairs I saw in my previous photos 😯
I increased PAR a bit today... swapped out the 1500w light for my 2000w blurple light
MONDAY:
Rotated her and took another close look...she's in the harvest window for sure. Starting flush tomorrow.
TUESDAY:
I flushed her with 3 gallons of ph'd spring water and a bunch of bud candy. I'll let her dry out for a few days and do it again with just ph'd spring water. The a few days later I'll put her in the dark for a night and kill her.
WEDNESDAY:
Rotated her and did the sniff test..wow she wreaks..😋
THURSDAY 10/25:
Spun her around and took a few photos.
FRIDAY:
Spun her around and told her lies about all the good looking male plants I was gonna introduce her to in a few days..😉
SATURDAY:
Moved her to the center of the garden to finish....she's such a stinky little bitch!😋
SUNDAY:
She's still very heavy..another day or two before her second flush.
MONDAY:
Still too moist..
TUESDAY:
I flushed her for the last time today...
I plan to harvest her Friday evening.
WEDNESDAY:
Took some photos and trimmed off some necrotic plant material.
THURSDAY 11/1:
She's still scheduled for execution on Saturday, but she thinks she's gonna get gang-banged by a dozen good looking males..she's oozing with excitement...poor thing...😉
FRIDAY 11/2:
While doing some preliminary manicuring on her, I spotted a single fully-formed nanner! 😯
She was dead within seconds..I can't have my other buds getting seeded up...
I was gonna harvest her tomorrow anyway, so no biggy..
She is the stinkiest plant I've ever grown! Minimal manicuring necessary..I left a little sugar leaf because it was soooo sugary...😍
11/3 - 1st day of drying..had to move it into a tent because it was stinking up the house...my o2 generator and air purifier/carbon filter couldn't keep up with the stink 👈
11/4 - 2nd day of drying..not much shrinkage! Hopefully she comes in over 2oz.
She finished in under 70 days, which is a plus, but her yield was just barely over an ounce. I'm betting it's some super potent stuff, but won't know for sure for another week of cure time.
UPDATE:
I was right..super-potent...and taaaasty!
Here's how she performed:
Aroma - 10/10
Taste - 10/10
Potency - 9/10
Yield - 5/10
Ease of growing - 10/10
Time to finish - 63 days from seed - very fast
The other two I grew to maturity were a different phenotype. They were very bushy little dwarves (also with unimpressive yields), but very tasty. They were like identical twins right up until the cure. One was redder and sweeter, the other was greener and less sweet, but a little heavier.
This plant started flowering as it entered it's third week and just stretched right up to 16" and budded up. I didn't even have a chance to FIM her. The lower branches were like an afterthought..they didn't even form for a week after she started flowering.
Neither of the 2 phenotypes I ended up growing took up much more garden space than the pot they were planted in.
I planted all three in 5gallon pots and regretted it. Candy Cane didn't have a good germination rate, so I'd recommend overplanting initially to ensure you finish with a tentful. If you are planting a full tent of them and want to ensure even growth, you definitely don't want to have multiple start times because when they start stretching, they really stretch..
I'd recommend 3 gallon pots and think I could easily grow 12 of them at a time in a 4 x 4, and even 14 or 15 if I knew for sure that they'd be like this plant.😍
I bad-mouthed this plant for the first 40 days of it's life, but she turned out fairly heavy for a single cola with just a couple popcorns on the bottom. She smells really nasty, but to be fair, I will not smoke her for a full week of curing. Stay tuned...
Update

11/14
When you pull a bud apart it sticks to your fingers...super sappy.
Yummmmm! Very tasty weed...pungent as hell..minty/flowery flavors.
Very intense head high that lasts awhile, then mellows to a great body buzz...at which time it's time to smoke some more because it TASTES SO GREAT!
This plant didn't do what I wanted her to do, but she ended up impressing me.
I just wish like hell Candy Cane was a better producer because I really like the taste and effect.
Fortunately I have another 10-12 beans, so it'll be a regular in my tent. : 1:
Bottom line:
Out of 7 Candy Cane seeds, only 3 sprouted, but all 3 were strong little dwarf plants that finished in about 60-65 days from seed. I'd recommend only using 3 gallon pots because any more is just a waste of soil....and plant a lot of beans at once to be sure you have an even growing crop...a 4 x 4 should easily grow 12 of them to maturity.
