May 28, 2023 A new diary. Let's get started shall we. First things first, the setup. AC Infinity Advanced Grow System: AC Infinity 36" x 36" x 72" Grow Tent AC Infinity 240 watt LED Ionboard AC Infinity 4" inline fan with carbon filter AC Infinity 6" clip fans x2 top one oscillating. AC Infinity 5.4 gallon Fabric Containers AC Infinity Bottom Feed Wick System AC Infinity Germination System: AC Infinity Tray and 6" Dome with 10" extension AC Infinity heat mat Generic LED Full Spectrum 35w light bars x4 DLI: 12.4 mol/m²/d AC Infinity 4" Cabinet Fan for air circulation. Root Riot plugs Sohum Living Soil Advanced Nutrients Autoflower Feeding Schedule. So that is the entire setup for the whole grow. As you can see in the full setup picture, there are 2 other plants in there. Those are Zkittlez Autoflowers they should be harvest ready at the same time as these Watermelon Autoflowers. Today, two seeds were dropped in a small glass of water. They will sit in the dark on a heat mat for the next 24 hours. May 29, 2023 Both seeds sank this morning. So in root riot plugs they go. Heat mat is on low with water at the bottom of the tray for humidity. I have the top dome on without the extension for now. The lights are out until I see some green. I'm aiming for a DLI of 12 mol/m²/d for the first few days. The DLI will increase to 16 when they are placed in the tent. The goal is to plant in the final container before the roots start to show too much. I've found it to be the best way to transplant without disturbing anything. May 30, 2023 There's a lot of condensation in the Germination System. I turned my little fan on to try and pull some of it out. The seeds still haven't popped surface, but they are making mounds, so I guess they geminated. However, I'd rather not have this much humidity when they pop surface. It should adjust pretty easily. May 31, 2023 Both ladies broke surface today. Very happy with the 100% germination. They are in the plugs now. Hopefully they don't outgrow them too quickly. I'd like to keep them in there for at least a week. Lights are on now. DLI is 12 and heat mat is on low. I refilled the bottom tray with a layer of water as well, to keep the humidity up. These ladies are going to come out super awesome. I can feel it. I've also placed the 5.4 Gallon Fabric Containers in the tent and watered in a half gallon of plain water for each, just to get the moisture spreading a bit. I'll continue to spray the soil for the next week minimally to keep it moist, but not soaked. By then, the pot should be ready for the seedlings and the bottom feed system. I may have to place domes over these ladies in the tent as well. Although, I'm keeping it around 76° and 60% humidity. That should be perfect for these 2 when they go in. Maybe I'll be able to plant them before the roots start to show. June 1, 2023 Well, we have some difference between these two. So the reference will be the Big one is Watermelon One and the smaller one on the right is Watermelon Two. Watermelon One shot right up. I'm going to wait and see what happens with Watermelon Two today before I add the extension. June 2, 2023 Wow! They are both already showing a ton of roots. These ladies are going to grow super fast. Both are now in their respective 5 gallon containers. Watered in and Starbucks Domed. They are growing faster than I anticipated. Honestly, I may not be prepared for them to grow so fast. However, I'm excited to see how they come out. As long as I make no mistakes, hopefully we will see a half pound total. 8 oz isn't too much to ask for with 2 plants that can grow 500 g/m². 125 grams per plant based on a 4 plant setup. 2 plants would yield 125 grams each. Landing a yield of 250 grams. Rounding down to 200 would give just over 7 oz. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.7° RH: 75% (estimated) June 3, 2023 Both ladies look wonderful. No issues with the Sohum soil and I expect some wonderful plants. They both got a little bit of water and a spray around the pot to keep the soil moist while it adjusts to the right levels. It will take a week to do som perfect timing for the veg period. They are still under the domes. Although, I'm pretty sure I can take them off in a couple of days. The environment is perfectly fine for them. I've also discovered an issue with using my Germination System. Autoflowers only take about 2 days to outgrow the system and the plugs. So I may just germinate in the plugs and plant the plugs directly in their 5 gallon pots with autos from now on. The Germination System can be used mostly for photos. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 76° RH: 75% (estimated) June 4, 2023 Looking good. Sprayed the domes, watered the outside of the soil. Not much, just enough to let it soak into the top soil. Should be good for bottom feeding next week. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 71° RH: 75% (estimated) June 5, 2023 Both ladies are looking good today. I think their domes are going to come off in the next day or 2. They are both growing very nicely. Watermelon One is the taller of the two, but Watermelon Two is catching up quite nicely. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 77° RH: 75% (estimated) June 6, 2023 Can we just talk for a minute about the pace of growth with these ladies? 3 days germination, 7 days seedling, and starting veg exactly at day 8 of growth. They are so on point, it's scary. Lol They both just started showing their first node and growing their first set of true leaves. Tomorrow I'll prime the containers and start the bottom feed system. It should take about 3 days to totally prime and get the system fully working. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 79° RH: 75% (estimated)

June 7, 2023 Day 8 Watermelon One has kind of a weak stem. Watermelon Two is shorter, but the stem is stronger. They have both started on their first node and I expect them to spike in growth. They are now starting to get too broad for the Starbucks Domes, so I had to remove them. I have a humidifier pointed between them for a much more better environment. The temp is at a nice 77.5° and both ladies are happy as ever. I started the priming process for the bottom feed system. Everything checks out. Now it's just a matter of checking the moisture levels over the next week while these babies grow and the soil acclimates to a decent moisture level. They won't be getting any top watering for the next week as well. A mist on the leaves every few hours, but nothing more. Watermelon One: Height: 3.5" DLI: 21.5 (a bit high) Watermelon Two: Height: 2.5 DLI: 20 Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 77.5° RH: 68.5% (estimated) June 8, 2023 Today the plants were upgraded to the Soda Domes. Much more space. Hopefully they will stay under there for a couple more days. Watermelon One is really lanky. I may have to install a support. I also think she isn't getting enough light anymore. The domes allow a DLI of about 13 in. I'll keep an eye on that one. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 76° RH: 65% (estimated) June 9, 2023 Both ladies are doing quite well. Watermelon One is standing up quite nicely now. Leaves are starting to grow out, but she has some coloring issues. I'm honestly not sure what is going on with this one. So far not a thing has been done differently with these two plants. So one is smaller but definitely healthier, but the other grew faster but has some sort of issue. I don't know if it's stunting growth or not, but she seems to be growing at the same pace as the other one. Maybe she is a bit more sensitive to the soil? Watermelon Two is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful color nice broad leaves starting to grow. Great stem. She looks super healthy. Taking quite well to her home in the Sohum soil. Very happy. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 75° RH: 65% (estimated) June 10, 2023 Had to remove the soda domes today. Both ladies are looking fantastic and growing quite nicely. They are just too big for the domes and are hitting the sides. So off they come. Each got a misting of plain water. The humidity happens to be kinda high today, so it's perfect for these ladies to come out of the soda domes. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.8° RH: 60.6% VPD: 1.15 kPa June 11, 2023 Nothing to report today. Both ladies look good and are happy without the domes. Decent growth overnight. So it's just a matter of waiting for them to take off. Hopefully they will. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.7° RH: 62.1% VPD: 1.08 kPa June 12, 2023 Watermelon One looks great. She has some wonderful leaf production and starting on the second node now. Broad green leaves. Stem is getting stronger. Watermelon Two is beautiful. She has a strong stem and some lush leaves. Broad and green. Watering for both ladies is perfectly fine. Bottom Feed system should have reached the roots by now and we should see some rapid growth in the next couple of days. Let's hope for some vigor from these ladies. They are a 70bdays strain, so I'm hoping for some early explosive growth. Grow System Environment: Temp: 72.6° RH: 63.3% VPD: 1.01 kPa June 13, 2023 These ladies are starting to take off. Not much else to report on them. Colors look great. Water intake seems perfect. All is good. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.3° RH: 63.7% VPD: 1.10 kPa

June 14, 2023 Day 15 Watermelon One: Height: 4.5" DLI: 22 Watermelon Two: Height: 3.5" DLI: 21.5 I've decided this will be a natural grow. No nutrients except for what's on the Sohum living soil. If needed, I have bloom boosters and cal/mag. Technically, is shouldn't need anything, but we shall see. This week we focus on vigorous growth. Both ladies are setup and ready for their journey. I expect to see at least a new set of leaves a day. If not more. These are 10nweeks autoflowers. So they should both grow pretty fast. I'm planning on training both. Depending how they come out, I might top one for science. Bottom Feed system is working perfectly. The bottom half of the pot is moist throughout. Around 45% moisture level. I may do a small top feed today just to make sure those top roots get some nutrition. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.7° RH: 64.3% (rainy day) VPD: 1.09 kPa June 15, 2023 Well, these ladies are looking fantastic! Beautiful lush green, super broad leaves. Stems are stiffening up nicely. They are starting to take off. They are still that same height as yesterday, maybe a little bit taller, but bigger. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.2° RH: 64.4% VPD: 1.08 kPa June 16, 2023 These ladies look absolutely amazing. Great color! Strong stem. And branching already starting to pop out. I can't wait to see what these 2 have to show me. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.2° RH: 65.3% VPD: 1.03 kPa June 17, 2023 Watermelon One looks great! She's a bit taller still, but her branching is a tiny bit slower than the other one. Great color, lush leaves. Watering is perfect, lighting is perfect. Watermelon Two is strong! She has some great branch production and is showing some signs of a bushy plant. Super lush leaves, nice and broad. I'm expecting great things. Both of these plants look like they will turn out to be amazing. As said before, I'm not running nutrients, unless I need to. It's living soil, so there should be no issues with the grow. I think I might top one of them. I'd say the more lanky one. If there is one like that. Lol Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.1° RH: 65.3% VPD: 1.02 kPa June 18, 2023 Watermelon One: She looks fantastic. She is a bit taller and her branches are a bit slower to come out than Watermelon Two. I've decided to top her for this run. She should, in theory, grow her branches wider and catch up with her sister plant. Watermelon Two: Is showing some amazing growth. Her branches are starting to come out hice and evenly. She's really sturdy with beautiful coloring. This lady will be left alone for the control of this grow. Both ladies got their reservoirs topped off today. As I said before, this will be a completely natural grow. No nutrients, just the Sohum living soil... Unless I need bloom nutrients. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.9° RH: 60.9% VPD: 1.16 kPa June 19, 2023 Watermelon One: She's looking very nice. A little extra reach due to a Zkittlez Autoflower overshadowing her. Everything looks great though. Working on the 4th node now. Great color as always. Watering is fine. That's all for today on her. Watermelon Two: A great plant. Super strong and great coloring, still. Looking just as good as her sister plant and has more access to light. Everything is good to go. Seeing as the large Zkittlez plant I have in the tent is too large, I swapped these ladies around. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.9° RH: 60.9% VPD: 1.16 kPa June 20, 2023 Both plants look fantastic. They are right on schedule and gearing up for a vigorous stretch. They are well watered and very happy in their homes. The light distance seems to be right on point as well. Around DLI is around 20 mol/m²/d and should be starting to hit 25 when she starts to grow faster. I may have to raise them up a bit until they get tall enough. Watermelon One is certainly taller. Internodal spacing seems to be a bit longer than Watermelon Two, but Watermelon Two is growing faster nodes. Both plants are identical in everything except the height. Leaf shape and color are the same. Branches are growing out the same. They look great. Swapping them around seems to have helped a bit, but I don't want to lose any growth speed for Watermelon Two being under the shadow of the beast. The DLI shows 19 mol/m²/d. Definitely a bit low for this age. I'd say they need a 2 inch lift. Or I could drop the other 2 plants down with the light. Quick Update: I ended up raising Watermelon Two up 2". Her DLI reads 21 mol/m²/d now. Although, at this age, they should be around 25 DLI. I'll have to make some more adjustments tomorrow. June 21, 2023 Day 22 Watermelon One: Height: 7.5" DLI: 28 mol/m²/d Watermelon Two: Height: 5.5" DLI: 25 mol/m²/d Watermelon One: This one is growing quite nicely. Nice little reach going on. Very nice color and strong stem. Working on node 5 now. I think I'll be training this one. Some LST in a few days when she is taller. Watermelon Two: This is the wider of the 2 plants. She is almost at her 6th node. Branches are growing at a nice pace. Beautiful green broad leaves show off her Indica parentage. She will certainly need some sort of defoliation. Maybe she'll need to be trained depending how she grows. I'd rather not do anything but defoliation with this one. She's shorter at 5.5" but definitely faster. Very happy plant. The watering seems to be perfect for these ladies. The bottom feed wicking system is working perfectly and is keeping the saturation rate of the soil at around 50%, which seems optimal for this soil. I've never had an under or over watering issue for any plants from the last 2 grows. The bigger plants need extra wick to keep up with the water demand, but it works and keeps me from having to do any top feeding for at least a week or 2. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 75° RH: 62% VPD: 1.13 kPa June 22, 2023 Training day starts today! Woohoo! Both ladies got their first bend today. Just a slight one at the 4th node each. I decided not to bother with a control this time. Instead, I plan to grow these two exactly the same. With hopefully, the same canopy height. They look great! We will see how they take to it tomorrow. Watering is perfect still. Light penetration is fine. I feel like they maybe will start needing more soon enough. On a second note, the DLI was too low for these ladies at 20 mol/m²/d. They should be around 30. So I raised them up about 3". Light distance is now 31" and DLI is 28 mol/m²/d. Let's see how they do for the day. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.7° RH: 61.7% VPD: 1.09 kPa June 23, 2023 Both ladies took to their training like a dream. A slight adjustment today to keep that top flat while the rest of the branches grow. The water intake looks to be spot on. They seem to be drinking a bit more than the other plants I have in the tent. That must be a good thing. These ladies are going to turn out huge. I can feel it with my Weedi powers. You can certainly tell in the pictures that these ladies are no slouches. They are moving along quite nicely. They're already showing their sex. So I can only assume they will be taking off even more in the coming days. Fantastic! Oh, yesterday I noticed a neat little thing. One of the branches split into 2 tops. Very cool. I posted a pic. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 72.8% RH: 61.7% VPD: 1.06 kPa June 24, 2023 Both ladies got a little bit of a leaf tuck today. Just opening up those side branches. They both look beautiful. No watering needed. I expect them to be a bit thirsty in a couple days. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 72.8° RH: 61.7% VPD: 1.06 kPa June 25, 2023 Both ladies are taking perfectly to the training. Side branches are all coming up level with the top. I'm using the large fan leaves to push out the branches for a wider more open plant. I'll continue doing this until they can be tied down at the side of the pot. They both got reservoir refills today. Very happy girls indeed. The environment is ridiculously humid. No control over it. Hopefully doesn't develop mold conditions. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 72.7° RH: 63.7% VPD: 1.00 kPa June 26, 2023 These ladies are looking wonderful. They are getting vigorous and stretching their side branches nicely. Leaves look great with a lush green color. They are nice and broad showing off their Indica parentage. They won't need a watering for about a week from what I am seeing. Watermelon One seems to be a bit thirstier, but not much. The grow light got raised an inch for another plant in the tent. However, it didn't make much of a difference. The higher light actually made the coverage a bit better. It's still super humid here and I'm still at war with it. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.5° RH: 64.8% VPD: 0.99 kPa June 27, 2023 This whole week has been super humid. And I can't fight it off. It's that humid. I have 2 dehumidifiers going. I really need an air conditioner for my room so the tent can bring in fresh dry air. Both plants are starting to get a bit vigorous. Excellent! I can't wait to see how they turn out in the flowering stage. Watermelon One This one is quite nice. She is taking perfectly to her training. I tied down the tallest 3 branches level with the top. The top was also adjusted and tied down again. Everything looks great! Zkittlez Two A great plant so far! She has beautiful leaves and is taking excellently to her training. I tied down the top and side branches today. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 71.2° RH: 64.7% VPD: 0.93 kPa

June 28, 2023 Day 29 Watermelon One: Height: 10.5" DLI: Light Height: 34" Watermelon Two: Height: 8.5" DLI: Light Height: 36" This week will focus on LST and light intensity. I'm hoping for some vigorous growth. Raining now I think is key to a massive, flat canopy. Not much to report today. Water is wonderful, plants are growing perfectly. Humidity is still stupid high. I'm not bothering with training today. I'd rather let them grow a bit so I have something of substance to adjust. However, both ladies are growing their side branches taller than the main cola, so waiting is perfect. I'll probably adjust tomorrow. Also, I had to raise the light a couple inches today to accommodate another plant that is growing exponentially. So there may be a bit of a lighting issue. We shall see though. Who knows, maybe that will spur them on to stretch more. Anyway, these ladies are looking absolutely perfect. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.4° RH: 64.4% VPD: 1.00 kPa June 29, 2023 Both ladies got their tops tied down again. Just keeping up with the plant height. Letting the side branches catch up again. No water needed today. 1 quarter rotation each. That's all for today. The humidity is still super high in the main room and that translates to even higher humidity in the grow tent. For these ladies it's not a bad thing, but for the bigger plants in the tent, it could cause mold and mildew. We will see though. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.5° RH: 64.4% VPD: 1.00 kPa June 30, 2023 Both ladies look absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately the bigger plants in the tent got even bigger. So now there is even less room for Watermelon One. I'm going to have to rotate them around. A little bit more bending and an adjustment or 2. Water is fine. Maybe a refill tomorrow. Also, these ladies seem to have hit pre-flower. I expect this is around the time a 70 day plant. Update: I decided to snip off the main stem fan leaves. It's day 31 and they were getting condensation. Plus now all of the branches are visible to the light. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 71.8° RH: 70.2% (Really high) VPD: 0.80 kPa July 1, 2023 So the best issue is how identical these two are in looks. I can only tell them apart from where I put them and the number in the pot. Very nice. I can only hope they grow the exact same. I'll do my best to keep them trained at the same height. The minor defoliation worked wonders. These ladies are now focused on all the branches. They are spreading out nicely. Growing quickly and have beautiful leaf colors. They will both need a reservoir refill tomorrow I think. They have a decent amount of moisture in the pots, but that's due to the wick system. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 72.9° RH: 67.9% VPD: 0.90 kPa July 2, 2023 Both plants are coming along nicely. She's a bit taller than her sister plant. But not by much and the rest of the branches are about the same height for both. They got a reservoir refill this morning. Training looks absolutely amazing on them. Very flat canopies and the spread is starting to come along great. Both plants are in pre-flower now. I expect them to really start stretching anyday now. The timing is excellent so I'm quite happy with them. I've also managed to move the other 2 plants in the tent around to make more light space. They each got a couple adjustments for their training as well. Looking good. Humidity is pretty high for them and I'm still getting condensation between touching leaves. Not really sure what to do about it. I'll try increasing the lower canopy fan speed. Hopefully that helps. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 70.8° RH: 68.3% VPD: 0.82 kPa July 3, 2023 Both ladies got some adjustments today. Not much in height for growth, but they are definitely looking good on branching. They are already in the end of pre-flower. So I expect them to spike right up any day now. Watering is fine. Light could be a bit closer, but I'm out of options with that. DLI is low are around 28 mol/m²/d. They are very healthy plants. Beautiful lush greens and strong branches. Update: Due to space issues, I had to setup my other tent for Watermelon Two so she has more room to grow. It also left more room for Watermelon One. Who got a lift so she's closer to the light. Now their DLI is 38 mol/m²/d. Which is much better for their age. Now we should see some more vigorous growth. Lower Grow System Environment: Temp: 71.3° RH: 70.1% VPD: 0.79 kPa This weather is absolutely destroying my perfect grow environment. July 4, 2023 Watermelon One is looking alright in her new environment, but the humidity is kinda getting to her. A couple leaves with some pretty serious condensation between them. I might have to cut a couple of them off to prevent it. However, from what I understand, this strain is supposed to stretch pretty hard in the early flowering stage. The environment is the same as the main tent, so that shows how important the lung room environment is. Watermelon Two is looking great. She's taking well to the higher light intensity and seems to be flourishing. She hasn't done much in the way of upward growth, but she looks healthy. Both plants have roots coming out of the bottom edges of the fabric pot, but not in the bottom itself yet. I hope that's a good thing and they will shoot up when the roots hit bottom center. Honestly, I'm wondering if I need to let the reservoirs dry out and allow the soil moisture to lessen for now. Maybe it will promote more growth. I won't water again until they both lighten up a bit. I think the bottom is a bit to wet, so I need to let it drop. Not to mention, I think it's also part of my humidity problem. Too much moisture exposed to the air. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.6° RH: 65.9% VPD: 0.95 kPa

July 5, 2023 Day 36 I had to drop the light intensity for the 2 large plants in the grow tent. Light Intensity is now 60% Happily, that really helps the power consumption, considering I just added another 100 watt light to the smaller tent for Watermelon One. DLI: 32 mol/m²/d This week we focus on defoliation and LST adjustments. Both ladies are looking great and are exactly the same size now. However, they're still really short. Around 9" to 10" tall. I'm hoping they take off very soon. We are absolutely in flower now. Maybe very late pre-flower. Either way, she doesn't seem to be stretching at all. Just an inch over last week. But still I have hope. The fact that they are both the exact same, I would expect them both to take off. If not, then I am really confused. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.2° RH: 62.8% VPD: 1.06 kPa July 6, 2023 Watermelon One is happy in her own place. She hasn't done much in stretch yet, but she should get there any day now. Watermelon Two however stretched about an inch last night. Good sign. Watering is great. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.5° RH: 62.5% VPD: 1.03 kPa July 7, 2023 Watermelon One accidentally got topped today. I have concerns. As she is just starting to stretch and it's already the flowering stage. I have another plants that I accidentally broke one branch off and almost a second and the plant is now absolutely massive, so hopefully I'll get the same outcome. Considering the topping I also decided to snip some of the low leaves blocking airflow. And of course, made some adjustments to the tie downs. Watermelon Two is starting to stretch. She is looking great and has plenty of auxiliary branches coming up. No accidents and she definitely looks like her stretch will be fantastic. I did snip a couple leaves blocking lower air movement and made some tie down adjustments. I've also decided to start rotating 4 times a day to get better light coverage. Other than that, she looks extremely promising. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.5° RH: 58.2% VPD: 1.17 Watermelon One Environment: Temp: 74.4° RH: 58.1% VPD: 1.23 kPa July 8, 2023 Both ladies look great. They still aren't really taking off in their stretch, but I think they'll be fine. Watermelon One is really enjoying her own tent. Again, she isn't growing much, but looks like she is prepping to. I'm sure the accidental topping may have a bit to do with it. Watermelon Two also looks poised for her stretch, if they don't start stretching in the next couple of days, I'll be concerned. For now, I'll let them do their thing. Considering both plants have been trained the exact same way and have even had the exact same leaves snipped, I think this accidental topping will work as a good experiment. To see if just LST is better or worse than LST with Topping. Sweet! Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.6° RH: 60.5% VPD: 1.19 kPa July 9, 2023 Watermelon One is looking good. She has a perfectly flat canopy and great leaf colors. Very healthy plant. I am concerned about her height now. Well, both of their height. They are both the same size and height. Only 10.5" tall. The interesting part is how the topped plant is keeping up with the non topped plant. OR, they are both just slow growers. I also noticed that Watermelon Two is taking more time adjusting to the LST. She's not really growing auxiliary branches like her sister plant. So far, it seems that the topped plant is actually doing better than the non topped one. Both need the exact same amount of watering today. Also very interesting. Roots are showing nicely on Watermelon One, but I'm not seeing much on Watermelon Two. Grow System Environment: Temp: 79.4° RH: 58.9% VPD: 1.38 kPa Watermelon One Environment: Temp: 79.1° RH: 67.9% VPD: 1.12 kPa July 10, 2023 Watermelon One is doing quite well. Very level canopy. Taking in water slowly. No stretch yet, but I can tell she's getting ready to. I hope she does though. The foliage is starting to get a bit bushy and overlapping each other, so moisture is getting trapped between them. Watermelon Two looks exactly the same as her sister plant. Same everything. It's really neat seeing two plants grow and look exactly the same. Same phenome. Really fun documenting. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.4° RH: 58% VPD: 1.28 kPa July 11, 2023 I have concerns about the stretch of these ladies. They haven't stretched at all. They haven't really gotten any wider either. But they are flowering. It looks like full flower as if pre-flower never happened. Weird. Not much I can do about it. At least nothing I know of yet. They look healthy as ever, just not growing much. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.1° RH: 57.8% VPD: 1.27 kPa Watermelon One Environment: Temp: 73.1° RH: 60.5% VPD: 1.11 kPa

July 12, 2023 Day 43 Watermelon One: Height: 11" DLI: 34 mol/m²/d Watermelon Two: Height: 10.5" DLI: 32 mol/m²/d This week we focus on defoliation. Today was the start of it. She got about 20% of the foliage removed and will have another defoliation in a few days. I don't think they will need much more. They got most of the inner facing leaves removed and some of the lower ones. Outside fan leaves are still on, but I'm thinking of removing them for more space for the buds to grow in the tent. Watermelon One is happy in her own tent. She is growing the best I think. She's close to 11" tall. But, she has more auxiliary branches that are stretching to the top of the canopy than her sister plant. After the defoliation, light penetration and air flow increased immensely. Watermelon Two is near identical to her sister plant. However, her auxiliary branches are all pretty short and super close to their branches. The buds are coming along nicely. Watering for both ladies is fine. Maybe 0.2 gallons a day now. Still not much at their age, I think. Size is now a concern. They didn't grow an inch over the course of an entire week. Watermelon One did better, but still super short. I guess I'll deal with it. Update: I noticed that after defoliation today, they both started reaching leaves instead of drooping. I wonder what that means. Shouldn't they be a bit droopy from the defol? Could it just be coincidence? They both started reaching today? Nah, has to be something I did. Watermelon One is now 12" and Watermelon Two is 11" tall. Good stuff. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.8° RH: 59.1% VPD: 1.22 kPa July 13, 2023 Watermelon One is having a wonderful time. She got a few top leaves snipped off today for 5 more bud sites. Auxiliary branches are really taking off. Great color and nice bud production. She hasn't stretched at all, but still, just have to wait and see. The breeder is RQS so these ladies should come out great. Watermelon Two also looks good. She had a couple side leaves removed to make a bit more room. She is now squished in a corner. I had to tie down some branches on this beast of a Zkittlez Auto Strain, so our lady here is currently suffering for now. I'm going to take out the tie downs when the stretch actually starts. This will keep her a bit more compact with a taller stature, if I can pull it off. I'll have to ask if I can take off outer leaves or should I just leave them. Both ladies look great! Beautiful colors and nice bud production. If nothing, I expect to see some nice nugs. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.7° RH: 57.7% VPD: 1.30 kPa July 14, 2023 Watermelon One had some out leaf plucking today. Just the big ones pressing up against the tent walls. If my theory is correct, the less that touches the wall, the more growth toward the wall there will be. So clear out out leaves and wait for plant to grow into it. Seems like a sound theory to me. Anyway, we finally have a smidge of stretch. But more leaf production and filling out. I'm hoping it all levels out and she grows at least to 24". I doubt it though. Twice the height will be 20" and we are well past the time for insane stretching. At least from what I've experienced. Although, she is getting more auxiliary branches reaching up, so that's good. The branches have already hardened off and I cannot train anymore. Unless the newer shoots get too tall. Then I can pull those down and let the rest catch up. She seems to be getting thirsty now. Looking good. Maybe a third gallon a day? Her structure is quite nice. Flat top, spread out branches. Leaves are all in order. I managed to remove most that were facing in except one that I found today. If or when she stretches, she is definitely setup for a tall and level canopy. Watermelon Two is much the same as her sister plant. Getting thirsty, seeing a bit of stretch. Maybe a little more than the other. Branches are super strong also have hardened off. The only difference I am seeing is the leaf size between the two. This one has smaller leaves where Watermelon One has some big ones and keeps filling in with them. I feel like I'm doing something wrong with this one. She hasn't had any HST, just defoliation and LST. I guess this is a new lesson to learn. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.6° RH: 58.7% VPD: 1.25 kPa July 15, 2023 Both ladies got a reservoir refill today. Watermelon One only needed a half gallon while Watermelon Two needed a full reservoir. Now they are even in watering again. Let's hope they drink the same now. Watermelon One looks great now! Her branches are starting to stretch. Not much mind you, but some. Her auxiliary branches are all catching up to the canopy now. I expect some decent growth in the next few days. At least let's hope. Watermelon Two seems a bit smaller than Watermelon One. It's probably due to the smaller space available to her. Or she is the same size and just looks smaller next to the beast of a plant in the tent as well. She is getting bigger though. Her branches are sticking into the big Zkittlez Auto I have in there. 2 branches get totally buried. It's not a great situation. Grow System Environment: Temp: 77.1° RH: 58.5% VPD: 1.29 kPa Watermelon One Environment: Temp: 75.3° RH: 55.4% VPD: 1.34 kPa July 16, 2023 Watermelon One is doing great! She's stretching and growing nice buds. She looks like a good grow. Great bud structure and extremely stiff branches. As long as she keeps growing at least for the next week, she will hopefully pull out another few inches. 18" to 24" total would be perfect. Watermelon Two is not doing so great. She's still not growing, but she is making more bud sites. Just a bad grow. Maybe she will adjust and start a crazy stretch in a few days. Lesson learned. One big plant can stunt another smaller plant from the sheer size blocking light and pressing in on the whole plant. Maybe I should have used nutrients with this one. Oh well. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.8° RH: 61.0% VPD: 1.20 kPa July 17, 2023 Watermelon One is looking quite nice. She has some pretty good internodal spacing and her roots are getting more abundant on the bottom of the container. She has wonderful color and ber leaves are praying perfectly. Very happy plant. I don't expect her to be very big. Maybe a couple more inches stretch, if any at all. Water consumption is pretty slow given her size. The reservoir can last up to a week. I'm wondering if I stunted them when I transplanted in the very beginning. It will be interesting to see what I learned for the next grow. I think I'll use my nursery bags with a root riot plug in the Sohum soil to start and keep the seedlings under a dome. Watermelon Two is a real concern now. She hasn't been growing at all. No stretch. I had to lift her back up closer to the light. As she is in flower she needs more light intensity and she definitely doesn't have it. Hopefully the higher elevation will let her catch up or adjust. Her leaves are also small and they are mostly 3 fingered. I ended up removing all the tie downs today as well. It helped a lot. I definitely messed up the light intensity for this one. She's stunted and the 3 finger leaves are certainly a result of the mistake. Lesson learned. Next grow I will leave the light where it needs to be. Gradually turn the intensity up to keep the DLI always within range. That and ensuring to start autoflowers in a plug already planted in the final medium which will be Sohum living soil. Something to note: both plants have roots reaching into the reservoir and wrapping around the wicks. I wonder why I have small plants here. Anyway, the roots are extremely long. Close to 12" under the container. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.8° RH: 59.5% VPD: 1.25 kPa July 18, 2023 Watermelon One is enjoying life in her own space. She has some really stiff branches that are spread out nicely. She got a full reservoir refill this morning. She may be getting thirsty. That's a good sign. She might start growing more. Her buds are looking impressive. However, the internodal spacing is a bit tight. It should make for some good tops, but some tough trimming. Watermelon Two is another story. With her tie downs gone, she is starting to stretch some but the canopy is a bit tight now. I can only hope she starts growing upwards so I can lower her back down to the floor some. Also, her watering is a little bit slow. I'm not sure if that's good, or if these plants just don't take a lot of water. I know they are smaller than they should be, so it explains the water intake, but is it good or bad? A sign of a healthy plant is part of its water intake, at least I think so. Looking for a second, third, forth and so on opinion. One of the plants in this diary is in the tent with a huge Zkittlez Auto. It's really squished in there. Overlapping branches and leaves. How to make it fit? Thanks! Snip outer leaves? Remove tie downs? Let it ride? Thanks!

You can use LST, given that its in flower now and its an auto to much stress can stunt it growth. Some autos grow massive some don't its a real coin toss. A lot of people prefer photoperiods as you can do almost anything to them in veg and they will recover. HST LST w/e Good Luck!

July 19, 2023 Day 50 This week is a focus on some defoliation as LST is no longer possible. However I'm concerned about actually defoliating Watermelon Two. Her leaves are tiny and she is definitely stunted. I'm certain it was due to the amount of light changes she was exposed to. Watermelon One is getting bigger with massive pistils on the buds. She's taller and broader than her sister plant. She was also stunted I believe, but she recovered when she got a consistent light intensity. I'll have to grow this strain again to see its full potential. Watermelon Two, as stated, is definitely stunted. She has small buds and is just really compact. I chalk it up to space restrictions and bad lighting. I also suspect her transplant wasn't as successful as I hoped. Especially when it was a seedling at the time. It's probable that I did the same thing with Watermelon One. Quick Update: I decided to pull the largest branches down a smidge on Watermelon Two. They are just barely over the rim of the plant. The goal was to open the canopy a tiny bit and happily it worked like a charm. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.9° RH: 60% VPD: 1.15 kPa July 20, 2023 Watermelon One is looking pretty good. Super long pistils and coated in trichomes top to bottom. She is super sticky and smells great! She got a defoliation today. More like a half defoliation. Just to free up air movement and light penetration. So far she seems pretty good with it. No dropping or signs of any stress. I honestly can expect some really good bud out of this one. Not sure how much yet, but we will have to see. Maybe 2 oz or 3? It depends on what she does over the next 3 to 4 weeks. Watermelon Two is a problem child. Her buds are small and pistils are kind a messed up. They aren't sticking straight out. It looks more like each one was squeezed or crushed. It's weird indeed. Her compact size has me concerned for her overall yield. I don't think there will be much. Maybe she will make up for it with bud production and potency. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.7° RH: 61.3% VPD: 1.08 kPa July 21, 2023 Watermelon One looks pretty good. She's stretching and building really big buds. She's not tall, but at least stretching. I removed a few leaves today. Just ones covering other bud sites and some overlapping. Now she has a really nicely open canopy and plenty of air flow. Watermelon Two is kind of stagnant. Her buds are small. Her leaves are small. Her branches are small, but really stiff. I don't really understand what happened. I guess I'll just have to accept the consequences of my actions. Next grow wont be staggered and will be only 2 plants instead of 4. So I'll do my best to keep her as healthy as possible. She's good with water and isn't showing any signs of stress. Great color, bud structure is pretty good. She may end up stacking pretty well. That's about it. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.1° RH: 59.8% VPD: 1.14 kPa July 22, 2023 Watermelon One looks great! She is 14" tall now with some fantastically big buds and massive pistils. Still not tall, but taking in water at a decent rate now. Nothing crazy, but more than she was. She got a full reservoir refill today. She also has some pretty decent tops. Not a ton of them, but maybe 16 to 20. They arent tall, but they are growing beautifully. I removed a few leaves today. She has a bunch with really long stems encroaching on buds halfway across the plant. Those came out as well as a few that were just overwhelming the canopy. Everything looks good now, so that's nice. She's still enjoying the solitary tent. However, I fear I may have to replace her with a Zkittlez Autoflower that's growing in the big tent. It's got around 2 weeks left. So does this one, but might take longer and I will need my dry tent back. Her structure is a bit chaotic, but everything is pointing up, and that's what matters. I dropped the light down to match the recommended DLI of 40 mol/m²/d. So the light is 16" from the canopy now. Watermelon Two is just a stunted little devil. I've managed to get her positioned in the tent as to only brush up against the other larger plants. I've also lifted her up to the same height as the other plants in the tent. The DLI is 40 mol/m²/d. She will be needing water in the next day or 2. Her buds are still small. No real swelling yet. Not like her sister plant at least. Maybe the higher light intensity will help with bud development. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.1° RH: 60.3% VPD: 1.16 kPa July 23, 2023 Watermelon One looks great now. Not tall, but nice tops and good bud production. I decided to pull the outside branches out a little bit to make more room for the central canopy. Unfortunately, I cracked one of the branches at the base. It didn't break, but definitely cracked. Let's hope I didn't screw up too badly. It's still early flower for her, so everything should be fine. Watermelon Two is a lost cause in my book. Bud sites are small and leaves are a huge mess. I have single finger leaves all over and almost all 3 fingered leaves for the rest of the plant. She is just an unhappy healthy girl. I'll keep her going for the rest of the grow. Why not. Weed is weed. Maybe I'll toss a bloom booster her way to see if I can salvage her buds. If I do, I'll start that next week. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.6° RH: 60.3% VPD: 1.14 kPa July 24, 2023 Watermelon One is looking quite nice. Great buds and beautiful color. She's praying nicely as well. She got a reservoir refill today. Still no top watering needed. I haven't checked 0ut the root structure on her in a bit, it it looks pretty good. I'll take a better look at the start of next week. Maybe the roots will have dipped back into the water. She needs no defoliation and every bud sites is pretty much open to the light and air. Watermelon Two is still a tiny hot mess. It looks like her buds are starting to get a bit fatter. I'll definitely need to run this strain again sometime to really see how it does without stunting. She got a reservoir refill as well today. Everything looks good otherwise. Her colors are still really beautiful and vibrant. Although, her leaves are really small and definitely not right. On another note, her branches are really stiff and have hardened off. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.4° RH: 59.5% VPD: 1.15 kPa July 25, 2023 So these ladies aren't all that big, but they make up for it in trichome production. They're covered in frosty goodness. The smell is also starting to get stronger. It could also be from the 2 Zkittlez in the tent as well. Watermelon One is looking fantastic now. As said before, she's not super big, but her buds are and they are certainly covered in frosty from the outer leaves in. Nearly every fan leaf has a bunch of trichomes on it. I'm not really expecting them to be harvestable by day 70. That may put a huge kink in my plans. I'll need the big tent to dry the 2 bigger plants in there, most likely sooner than these ladies. Although, the goal was to harvest at the same time, when the last one finishes up. But I couldn't extend the grow for the other 2 plants for too long. Watermelon Two is still runty of course, but as I said before, she is covered in frost. However, I did notice that she is starting to drink a decent amount. Maybe the buds will bulk up in no time. The biggest issue here is that although, the breeder says 9 to 10 weeks, they also say the flowering period lasts between 42 and 49 days. These ladies took 4 weeks to flower. Add the 7 week flowering time and we are a minimum of 1 week behind. 6 weeks of flower would be alright. That would be the 10 weeks I was planning on. The issue is that this is the end of week 3. They have a minimum of 3 weeks left. So to play it safe, I'm expecting them to be harvested around day 77. 1 week later than the other plants in the tent. Maybe. I'm not sure now. Either way, it's a sound theory. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.6° RH: 61.1% VPD: 1.12 kPa

July 26, 2023 Day 57 Watermelon One: Height: 15" Light Distance: 18" DLI: 41 mol/m²/d Watermelon Two: Height: 13" Light Distance: 18" DLI: 40 mol/m²/d This week we will focus on watering and freeing up bud sites. These ladies aren't very leafy, so it shouldn't be all that hard to open them up. Watermelon One is looking great! She has some good sized colas for the height of the plant. She's definitely getting thirstier. Close to a half gallon a day? Buds are getting fat with massively long pistils. Such a good sign. I expect to see some big fat colas in the weeks to come. Watermelon Two is a fail in my opinion. Buds are small. Everything is stunted. What's weird is these 2 plants have been treated the exact same way. The only difference is they are in different tents. So it's gotta be the environment in the big tent. Not that it's bad, but super crowded. Maybe she will start getting better now that she is at the top of the overall tent canopy. We shall see. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.1° RH: 61.8% VPD: 1.07 kPa July 27, 2023 Watermelon One is looking fantastic now. She has a lot of tops and her structure is mostly a flat canopy, if not a little chaotic. But she has great color and wonderful buds. They are FAT. And they can only get fatter. I have noticed a few things about this plant in particular. First was the split branch in the beginning of the grow which has 2 amazing tops I might add. Then the pistil length. Extremely long and beautiful. Finally something I haven't mentioned is there's a couple of branches with 3 buds per node. Even the very tops have 3 buds forming together. It's only a couple branches. Maybe 3? It's hard to tell now that everything is starting to connect and meld into one. But I can see it plainly on 2 branches. The last thing I noticed is that this plant was the first of all 4 I'm growing to have a strong aroma. Very nice. Not as pungent as the Zkittlez strain I have in the tent, but strong and wonderful none the less. She is also really enjoying this light. It's a Mars Hydro TS 600 about 18" from the canopy. It's nearly perfect. The DLI is right on point as well. I'll have to check again tomorrow to make sure it stays right around 40 mol/m²/d. Watermelon Two is healthy and happy... For a stunted plant. Her buds are nothing to be impressed with, but I guess they could bounce back in the weeks to come. As they swell and stack. We shall see. Lots and lots of trichomes everywhere though. And I mean everywhere. So that's good. Both ladies got their reservoirs refilled today. So I'll make sure to keep a closer eye on their watering for the rest of the grow. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.2° RH: 62.6% VPD: 1.06 kPa July 28, 2023 Watermelon One is actually looking really nice. Her buds are getting super fat. Really frosty and the aroma is wonderful. Sweet and crisp. She's happy as can be. Watermelon Two is looking the same as ever. Small buds, no vigor, but a nice color. She needs nothing now. So I'll let her ride out the last couple weeks. Bud is bud. Let's see how she does with the final product. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.1° RH: 59.6% VPD: 1.17 kPa July 29, 2023 Watermelon One looks good. She's swelling up nicely. She also had a reservoir refill today. No top watering needed. But she is going through a half gallon a day. There is nothing to do at the moment. She's just bulking up and producing trichomes. Lots and lots of trichomes. Watermelon Two is there doing a thing. Nothing has really changed at all over the past few days. No watering needed. Just observation. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.8° RH: 60% VPD: 1.15 kPa July 30, 2023 Watermelon One has so much frost! And her buds aren't even fully developed yet. I cannot wait to see the outcome of this little one. She has some really nice auxiliary branches reaching straight up. It definitely helps with filling the canopy in. She's drinking nicely as well. She definitely has more time than the 70 days. But that's ok. I have another plant that needs more time as well. So harvest should still be at the same time. Watermelon Two has underdeveloped buds, swelling kinda, but still really underdeveloped. Airy and just overall not the best I've seen. Maybe one of the worst plants I've grown. I still have hopes though. Something out of her would be fine. She is still super frosty. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.6° RH: 63% VPD: 1.06 kPa July 31, 2023 Watermelon One is looking great! She has very nice bud production going on. She smells great and the trichomes are stacking up. She isn't drinking too much, but that's expected of a plant this size. I lowered the light 2 inches as well. She was reaching a bit much for my liking. So 2" should just about do it. The DLI will be a bit high, but nothing to worry about. The light is 14" from the top of the canopy, so not bad for a 100 watt. She smells great! Like a gentle breeze of sweetness and lemon. Lots of lemon. Or citrus. Watermelon Two for a reservoir refill today. Still no change in the quality of her buds. I can only expect them to start swelling in the next week or so. I don't have high hopes, it I'm still going to finisher her out and call this a new learning experience. The lesson I think here is to make sure the plants match the light intensity for their stage of growth. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.5° RH: 63.1% VPD: 1.05 kPa August 1, 2023 Watermelon One has some really fat buds now. Round and plump. And they are getting bigger. Still a good 3 weeks left in her grow and I'm hoping for some ping pong ball sized buds. Which it honestly looks like they might end up that big. The pistils are still super long and stacking. I really think she will end up a really good yielder for her size. No water needed today. It seems like she is taking 3 to 4 days to clear a gallon. It's definitely going to increase water intake for the next couple weeks, but not by much. I've also noticed the lower buds are even getting a nice shape. maybe not so much popcorn buds. Probably because the whole plant is 15" tall and there is plenty of light penetration with such a shallow canopy. Not to mention she doesn't have all that many tops so there's a lot of open space. These buds are also super dense. I should also mention the temp and humidity in this tent. It's hovering between 77° and 80° with an RH of 57% roughly. Watermelon Two is actually bulking her buds up a bit. Surprisingly, they are also dense for what they are. You cant even tell the difference in the budlets. They are all so very tight together. But not as big. It's really sad because she is so healthy. Not a single nutrient issue whatsoever. Just the stunting and light stress. But still healthy. August 2, 2023 Day 64 This week won't have recorded stats. They are the same as last week, so no point. Watermelon One is looking great! Buds are swelling up and trichomes are abundant to say the least. She looks to have drank about 1/3 gal water. I removed a couple leaves that were sitting on top of other bud sites. Just a few. Watermelon Two is swelling her buds as well and is almost if not just as frosty as her sister plant. She's still no gem, but I'll get some decent bud off her. Lots of little buds. Maybe they will get super dense and I'll have some nice nugs. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.6° RH: 60.3% VPD: 1.24 kPa August 3, 2023 Watermelon One is showing some really nice bud. Super smelly now. She is frosty frosty frosty. Just a quarter turn today. No watering. Nothing needed. The tops look nice. Pistils are still nice and long. Still 2 to 3 weeks left on this one. Watermelon Two is doing her thing. Building tiny buds and smelling really strong as well. She will need a reservoir refill tomorrow I think. Maybe 2. I think she needs to dry out a little bit. Her branches are super stiff. And leaves covered in trichomes. Her buds may be the saving grace on this little lady. That's it for the day. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.0° RH: 63.6% VPD: 1.03 kPa August 4, 2023 Watermelon One is a trichome monster. Not a big plant, but the whole thing is covered in a thick layer of trichomes. There is a single top that's being really weird. The leaves are curling up and deforming themselves. Tons of trichomes of course, but I don't know what it's doing. Everything else looks fantastic. Watermelon Two is suffering from an environmental crisis. RH is way too high and the temp keeps fluctuating entirely too much sporadically. The tent door hasn't been properly closed for weeks. The humidity in the tent spikes up to 65% with an ac running, 2 dehumidifiers and the exhaust fan on full blast. It just won't go down. Even with the tent door open, the RH is around 60%. It's all gone haywire! She got a full reservoir refill today. It should last 3 to 4 days. Her buds are getting a bit bigger now. And trichome production is impressive. Aroma is really sweet and refreshing. It's a little heady, but mostly fresh. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.7° RH: 62.4% VPD: 1.09 kPa August 5, 2023 Both ladies bulked up quite a bit last night. It was especially noticable with Watermelon Two. Watermelon One is covered in frost. And I mean covered. There's also purple starting to come through. I can't wait to see how they turn out. She got a full gallon reservoir refill today. Her pot was a little dry and it could be a good thing. Maybe I'll let Watermelon Two dry a bit as well. Her reservoir will need to dry out first and that takes days, so I have plenty of time. She has some nitrogen toxicity. It's DEFINITELY from the Sohum soil. Too much nitrogen because these are autoflowers and small ones at that, the nitrogen wasn't depleted enough and rolled over to the flowering phase. That's my theory at least. She's only running water. So I can absolutely confirm too much nitrogen in the soil for smaller autoflowers. So the goal will have to be make the autoflower as big as possible. Haha. Watermelon Two impressed me today with how much her buds swelled last night. Not much else to say today. Water is fine. She's bulking up and it's time to just watch her grow. Grow System Environment: Temp: 72.6° RH: 63.4% VPD: 1.01 kPa August 6, 2023 Watermelon One is looking really good. She has some purple coming out of her thick layer of trichomes. She smells amazing. Her buds are chunky and fairly dense. Her tops all look great. Bud production below the canopy is pretty good as well. I noticed today how much the soil had dropped from the beginning of the grow. Interesting. A good 2 inches down. She has orange pistils coming in now. Not a ton, but a good start to the end of her life cycle. I'd say another week and a half. Maybe 2. She is too small to be cut up for harvest I think so she will be hung whole. Watermelon Two has trichomes galore. Just like her sister plant, she has a thick layer of frost. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing any dense buds. She's very airy, but the buds seem to be dense, so we shall see. Grow System Environment: Temp: 72.6° RH: 63.6% VPD: 0.99 kPa August 7, 2023 It's extremely humid out today. My room and the tents are suffering pretty bad with RH. Both are around 70%. The dehumidifier is also causing havoc with heat. The room is now 80° and the tents are 82° and 85°. It's too high and can cause issues. It's too close to the end to get screwed by earth. Watermelon One looks absolutely amazing! Her buds are super fat and dense. More pistils are turning orange and trichome production is still in full force. She got a reservoir refill today. Plain water. Nothing else to report. Just a nicely growing plant. Watermelon Two is still swelling and looks better than before. Trichome production is also increasing and looks like a lot more frost is in the way. She also got a reservoir refill. Also plain water. I've decided I will use flawless finish starting next week. The soil is living, so I want to the reservoir to have the nutrient for the roots alone. It should help inhibit any other nutrient uptake. Hopefully that works. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.1° RH: 68.7% VPD: 0.87 kPa August 8, 2023 Watermelon One looks really good. She is completely frosty and her buds are insane. They are so very chunky. Whole colas, dense with frost and bud. I can only imagine a much more dense finished product. Her watering is fine. I will start flawless finish after this reservoir empties out. Should be a day or 2. I'll keep it up until harvest day. Maybe a week and a half. Watermelon Two is starting to get somewhat more dense. Her trichome production is fantastic. She needs no watering. Actually, she doesn't seem to have drank anything at all over the last day. Either way, I'm not expecting much from this lady. Maybe between one and two ounces. I'd say another week and a half before harvest. Just like Watermelon One she'll be getting flawless finish after this reservoir empties. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.8° RH: 65.7% VPD: 0.97 kPa Watermelon One Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.9° RH: 62.3% VPD: 1.18 kPa A note on the environment: The position of the tent in the room and heat from the light combined make this tent a bit closer to ideal than the main tent. It's also because there is only 1 plant in the tent vs 3 other plants in the main tent. One of which being massive. Either way, this environment is much better.

There is one auxiliary branch that has weird leaf formations. The rest of the plant is fine. Just the one branch. It's got strange curled leaves. Still green. Tons of trichomes and no pests or anything. Any insight?

3 options, one should be out, because its auto, but i saw many strange autos, so : 1. light leak, some stupid reveg mode at certain point 2. too intense light and heat 3. heavy excess of nitrogen during flower caused it.

August 9, 2023 Day 71 This week we focus in pistils and bud swelling. Trichome production will be checked later in the week. These ladies seem to have about one to two weeks left. Their pistils are turning orange at a impressive pace. They will also be getting Flawless Finish for the rest of the grow. Watermelon One is going through about a half gallon a day? She won't be needing water until tomorrow at this rate. Her buds are super frosty and fat. They are thick and dense. The aroma is absolutely decadent. Beautiful citrus and gassy tones. Some pine and a bit of something else. When she is harvested, I may do a wet trim. At least to get all the big leaves off. I like drying plants whole. So removing some of the leaf material will help with keeping moisture from getting trapped. Not to mention with my humidity as ridiculously high as it is, I think wet trimming might be the better way to go. If I can keep the temps down in the mid 60s, I'll be happy. Humidity will certainly be a problem. I might have to put one of the small dehumidifiers in there. I think it will work out nicely and this lady will have a beautiful yield of quality bud. Trichome production is fantastic. She's super sticky. Watermelon Two has some pretty fat buds now. They definitely swelled up and are dense in most of the plant. Some of it is really fluffy and airy, but that is the product of the lighting issue. Either way, her trichome production is super impressive. She has frost all over and is extremely sticky much like her sister plant. She needs absolutely no water whatsoever. She seems to have stopped drinking and is now sipping. Her reservoir is nearly full still. So there's a few things that I have noticed for this light intensity stress. And planing these ladies into their final containers. Roots disturbed during transplant. Light intensity and over crowding. Issues: 1: Stunting 2: Single and 3 finger leaves. 3: Airy buds on Watermelon Two Watermelon One bounced back pretty quickly when she was moved to her own tent. Watermelon Two, on the other hand, stayed much the same throughout the whole grow and only just recently started showing more signs of productivity. Lesson learned is to start all ants at the same time. Follow the light intensity recommendations as well as I can. 22" from the light seems to do the trick. Then I can mess with power levels to really lock it down. The rest of the environment may have had a role in growth, but I have other plants in the tent that don't seem to mind at all. Could be the strain or maybe the Watermelons are fine from that. I don't know. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.1° RH: 64.7% VPD: 1.01 kPa August 10, 2023 Watermelon One got a new reservoir fill up with flawless finish. I have read that it's best to start flushing a little early when using soil. Mine is living soil, so the wick system will be perfect for that. That way, I'm not flooding what is good soil with a product that neutralizes other nutrients. So I can reuse this soil as well as Watermelon Two. More and more pistils are turning orange. There is that one top that is all kinds of weird. It's pistils haven't done a thing. Almost like this particular top is stressed out. Still has those weird upturned and curling leaves. The buds are really airy as well. Almost like foxtailing. Maybe it's just a weird isolated thing. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. No mold, buds, pests, diseases, rot. There's nothing. Also TONS of trichomes like it's actually blocking something. Maybe that particular one doesn't like the intensity that much. Weird. Oh well. Watermelon Two is actually coming along nicely. Still not a well grown plant, still spacey between buds. Tops are dense, but the budlets are clearly separated. The structure is good though. Cone shaped and bulbous. Kinda chunky, but nothing like her sister plant. Still, trichome production is running full steam and pistils are turning orange. No watering needed today. I'd like to get her back on track with watering together. I'll wait until I have to water Watermelon One again and either fill her up or top her off. Either way, I want them at the same watering day. Oh then I can see who's taking in more water. That will help with SCIENCE. Both have developed the same way, but Watermelon One is clearly happier and bulkier. So I feel like if the plant is drinking less water, then it may be stunting or stressed. It seems to correlate with how they grew. I've also read that the less water taken in during late flower is an indicator that she is almost done. So why wouldn't it stand to reason that less water earlier in life means there is a problem of some kind. This is all based on water percentage loss based on time and volume. Actually, based on what I'm seeing, both plants are exactly at the same point. Pistils are about the same percentage of orange and trichomes are about the same in abundance. I think they have a bit more swelling to do, but not much? I'm not sure. I've read that the buds keep getting fatter and fatter until death, but I'm not seeing any real difference over the last couple of days. Like they slow down immensely or I can't see due to size ratio. I'm not sure. Any advice on that? Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.7° RH: 65.4% VPD: 0.98 (smh) August 11, 2023 Watermelon One looks great! More swelling of buds and way more trichomes coming in. I'm also seeing a bit of purple coming in. Her root mass has completely taken over the wicks. And she may have roots going directly into the reservoir. I think she will be the more potent of the 2. She also has SUPER CHONKY buds. Her pistils are steadily turning orange. That one top is coming along slowly, but still coming along. Watermelon Two is also coming along. Pistils are looking good. She has a few more orange than her sister plant. But her buds are nothing compared. It's alright. She has amazing trichome production and will certainly be ready in the next week or 2. Closer to the week I think. I'll start checking trichomes on her before the week is out. Root structure is pretty good. As with Watermelon One, her roots have completely engulfed the wicking system and roots have grown down to the reservoir. Honestly, this makes it a hydro grow than regular watering. Or even traditional bottom feeding. Must more efficient and less chance of over watering, flooding or anything that could cause an issue. The roots are perfectly white and look great under the fabric container. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.4° RH: 63.9% VPD: 1.07 kPa August 12, 2023 Watermelon One is a Chunky lady. OMG. It's like ping pong balls all over. Very much happy. I wish she would have grown to full height, but I get what I put in and I get my own mistakes. So learning is the reward for this journal. She doesn't need water yet. Her buds are starting to develop nice purple hues. I'm hoping the leaves fade. She should be a purple fade. It will be wonderful. Watermelon Two is also looking decent. Buds are getting fatter still. She hasn't shown any signs of fade or colors yet, but I'm assuming that will come in time. No watering needed. She got her half turn today and nothing else to do. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.5° RH: 61.2% VPD: 1.11 kPa August 13, 2023 Watermelon One looks absolutely delicious. Her buds are the densest I've seen so far. There isn't a ton of bud on the plant, but it makes up for it in bud size and density. She got a reservoir refill today with the flawless finish regime. Nothing else to report today. Watermelon Two is also looking pretty good. I decided to pull a couple leaves that were just causing congestion and blocking air. What I found was how thick the buds are on this lady. The stems for the leaves I pulled were deep in the bud sites. Very good news for me. Secondly, she has a profound and powerful scent. Very pleasant. No watering today, but she will need one in the next couple days. I have some left from her last watering, so I'll most likely top her off tomorrow. Just to clear out that gallon and to keep the reservoir from drying out. Lastly, I've noticed that regardless of the size of the plant, canopy spread and the depth of the canopy, I still get popcorn buds even with a 4" deep canopy. One would think the whole plant gets roughly the same growth, but I think this has more to do with the stunting and overall poor growth. Top buds are impressive though. Kinda small and not as dense as I would hope for, but hefty either way. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.7° RH: 62.3% VPD: 1.11 kPa August 14, 2023 Watermelon One is looking super healthy. Her leaves are starting to get lighter and look like will actually fade. I'd say another few days to a week left on this one. Great trichome production. They are piling up. A whole lot of cloudy and some clear. Just a few amber though, so we are looking good there. No water needed today. Watermelon Two is also looking alright. Her trichome production isn't as good as her sister plant, but still looks great. Lots of cloudy as well with a few clear. Less amber trichomes, and she seems to be a day or two behind. It doesn't matter. They'll be done within a week. No water needed today. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.8° RH: 62.2% VPD: 1.09 kPa August 15, 2023 Watermelon One looks fantastic. Her buds are super chunky, she smells wonderful and is covered in frost. And I mean covered. They are everywhere. They are a mix of clear and cloudy. I did see a few amber, but just a few. Watermelon Two is covered in trichomes as well. Buds are big and fat. Not very dense and definitely a lot of popcorn and underdeveloped buds. The very tops are pretty nice though. Not chunky really, just fat. She will be needing a reservoir refill in a day or 2. The next watering will be the last for the grow, I believe. August 16, 2023 Day 78 Note: I don't have a good macro lens, so no trichome pics. Sorry everyone. This is the last week for these ladies. Both got a full watering today and may end up with one more mid week, if it's needed. Watermelon One is starting to show some color. Nice purple hues coming in. Tons of trichomes making it look like purple ice. Quite beautiful. Her buds are looking fantastic. Not much swelling left it think. She is about done with that. More and more orange pistils today. I still feel like she will be done by the end of this week. Watermelon Two is also looking good. She's not getting any color yet. But she may in the days to come. Her buds are bright green and have stopped swelling. Her pistils are about half orange now. Super frosty and smells wonderful. I'm hoping the weight is being put on and I just can't tell. I'll start checking trichomes in a couple of days. No need yet. I can tell she's not ready quite yet. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.8° RH: 64.9% VPD: 0.98 kPa August 17, 2023 Watermelon One looks great! More colors coming in. Super fat dense buds. Great aroma and super sticky. She is completely covered in trichomes and a lot of them are cloudy. More so than clear. I'd say by the end of this week. Maybe less time. She should have been done a week ago. But I would say a little longer makes sense. Watermelon Two is also looking pretty good. She has plenty of cloudy trichomes and a whole lot of orange pistils. She's not quite as coated as Watermelon One but still a respectable amount. And still quite sticky. Overall, this plant has bounced back to something worth working with. Her buds are still swelling a bit and getting more dense. I can only imagine how much she weighs with all that bud on such a small plant. No water needed today. And honestly, I don't think I'll be watering them at all for the rest of the grow. They have plenty of water in the reservoirs and are quite damp at the base of the containers. So in theory, they should be good for the rest of the week. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.8° RH: 63.1% VPD: 1.03 kPa August 18, 2023 Watermelon One is looking absolutely fantastic. She's just about ready. By the end of the week I'd say. Her buds are super super frosty and her pistils are turning orange at a more rapid pace now. And they have started to shrivel up as well. I found a few amber trichomes, but there's still a lot of clear. She's just not quite there yet. No watering needed today. Maybe for the rest of the grow. Watermelon Two is looking about the same as her sister plant in progress. She may be a little bit behind, but not by much. By the end of the week she will also be done. No watering needed for the day and probably the rest of the grow. She's a bit more dense and a bit more frosty. More orange pistils and some shriveling up. Trichomes a still a bit too clear. A couple of amber here and there, but nothing of importance yet. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.3° RH: 64.5% VPD: 1.01 kPa August 19, 2023 Watermelon One is getting a nice fade. She has lots of color coming in now. She looks wonderful. Buds are tight, pistils are about 70% orange and trichomes are almost all cloudy. There's just a couple amber, but I'm not woo worried. As fast as this lady is developing, I expect great things in no time. She may need a reservoir refill today. I might wait for tomorrow though and let the container dry out some. Watermelon Two is coming along nicely. Good bud structure. Most of it is pretty loose though except for the very tops of the colas. There's a decent amount of it, but it's going to be light and popcorny. She will also be needing a final reservoir refill tomorrow. It will be the last one for this lady. Trichomes are a tiny bit delayed vs. Watermelon One, but nothing too crazy. Maybe a day or 2? Maybe not even. She does have a few amber here and there, but still a decent amount of clear. Also the pistils are about 50% orange. No fade either. Nice bright green buds, but no fade at all. Still behind some? I might ask the GrowDiaries community on that one. When do we think this one will be ready? Unfortunately, the jewelers loupe I have is kinda garbage and I shake a lot so it's really hard to see what I'm looking at. As said before, my macro lens sucks, so no trichome pics. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.0° RH: 62.4% VPD: 1.06 kPa August 20, 2023 Watermelon One is absolutely beautiful. She has some wonderful colors coming along now. Her trichomes are nearly 80% cloudy. I see a couple amber trichomes here and there. Her pistils are about 75% orange, and the rest seem to be later growth. There's still that one weird top. It's pistils are finally turning orange. I feel like when that top is done turning orange, the plant will be ready to go. She got a half gallon in the reservoir today. I believe that will be the last watering she will have for the rest of the grow. As she doesn't drink a whole ton and her container is still nice and moist. By the time all of that is dry, she will be ready for the chop. Watermelon Two is a bit behind compared to her sister plant. Maybe a few days to a week? Either way, I'll swap her out with Watermelon One when she's ready for harvest and allow Watermelon Two to finish her grow cycle. At least I think that's what is happening. I could have a phenome that doesn't have the purple gene. Either way, I don't think she's as far along. She also got a half gallon in the reservoir today. Same story as Watermelon One. Last watering for the rest of the grow I think. She drinks less than Watermelon One as well, so this should definitely last her for the rest of her grow cycle. Grow System Environment: Temp: 72.6° RH: 62.5% VPD: 1.00 kPa August 21, 2023 Watermelon One is looking absolutely beautiful with her purples and greens. Her buds are super fat and her trichomes are stacking on top of each other. There's a whole lot of cloudy trichomes and very few amber. Not too many clear ones left either. Her pistils are mostly orange now. Just waiting for them to start shriveling up. She won't be getting a watering for the rest of the grow. She has a half full reservoir and her soil is nice and moist. 57% saturation. I may water if she still isn't ready in a couple days, but only a half full reservoir as long as it's empty. Watermelon Two is still has too many white pistils. The trichomes are about 50/50 clear/cloudy. Very sparse amber. I think she still has a week left. Unless she starts to rapidly mature over the next couple days, she may not need the week. Her reservoir is about half full and her soil is also around 57% saturated. I don't think she will need another watering for the rest of the grow. She should start to dry out in about 3 days. And will be dry enough for harvest in about 6 days. I'm just guessing now. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.0° RH: 62.8% VPD: 1.05 kPa August 22, 2023 Watermelon One is looking fantastic! The fade is amazing, her colors are beautiful and her smell is delicious. Buds are massive. Pistils are nearly all orange now. I'd say like 75%. She's not ready though. Still too many clear trichomes. I'd still say another few days to a week before she is completely ready. Tomorrow, she will be moved to the big tent. I have to harvest 2 plants that are in there and I need the dry tent. Plus, the light is better in the main tent. She got a final half gallon in her reservoir today. Just plain water. No flawless finish. Watermelon Two is still moving along. She still has some time left. Closer to a week now that I'm really getting a deeper look at her trichomes. She will be joined by Watermelon One tomorrow, after I harvest the 2 other plants in the tent. So the light will be positioned much better and will cover the whole canopy for the rest of the grow. Just a little bit of time under ideal light conditions. Much better. She won't be getting any water for another day or 2. Her reservoir is almost empty and I plan on refilling with a half gallon. It should be enough to last the week while also letting her dry out before harvest. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.7° RH: 60.7% VPD: 1.09 kPa

August 23, 2023 Day 85 Flowering Week 8: This is the last week for these ladies. And they are now both in the main tent together alone. I harvested the other 2 plants that were in there this morning. Light is 28" from canopy and at 80% power. DLI is 45 mol/m²/d. Let's hope the better brighter light will increase trichome production for this last week. Watermelon One is looking absolutely amazing. Her fade is beautiful. Colors are coming out vibrant. Most of the pistils are orange now, just have to wait for them to shrivel up and the trichomes to catch up. So this is the last week. Well, estimated last week. I guess we will see how it all goes. So far I'm confident that it will be by the end of this week. She's still working on that one last half gallon. It'll be fine by the end of the week. Watermelon Two is also coming along nicely. No colors, but lots of frost. And big fat nugs. She now has full access to the grow light. She got her last half gallon of water today. It should last the week. I won't be doing anything else for the rest of the grow. I won't even be rotating. Because this is the last week and neither plant will need anything, I won't be doing much but taking pictures daily. Other than that, they will be completely left alone for them to finish up. They will both be dry trimmed. Although, I like wet trimming so far. Maybe I'll wet trim them. Who knows. Actually, I might have to anyway if the humidity in the tents stays in the 60s. Very excited for the rest of this grow. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.8° RH: 60.1% VPD: 1.18 kPa August 24, 2023 Watermelon One looks absolutely beautiful. She has a wonderful fade going on, colors of the buds are turning a deep purple. Lots and lots more trichomes. The sugar leaves are showing more and more amber trichomes, but not many on the buds yet. She still has a few days to go I think, maybe a bit longer. I'm looking for 20% amber trichomes. She has a ton of cloudy, some clear here and there, but still too many and no where near enough amber. However, I have learned that cloudy trichomes have a 2 week window before turning amber. If I base that on the flowering time of the strain, I should have about a week or less left. I gave her a half gallon reservoir refill. Just to get her through the rest of the week. Watermelon Two is pretty far behind. I'd say a good 3 to 4 days. Maybe even 5. She has just started the fade and it's only on one leaf. I guess she will be the last to harvest and will have to go in small tent and the drying plants into the main tent. Unless she matures faster than her sister plant, I'd say a week maybe 9 days? She has water in the reservoir still, so no watering needed for today. Maybe in 2 days. She definitely has way too many clear trichomes, no where near enough cloudy and hardly an amber trichomes on a sugar leaf. Still lots of time left. She smells really good though. And sticky. Well, both of them smell great and are super sticky. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.6° RH: 59.7% VPD: 1.24 kPa August 25, 2023 Watermelon One is coming along quite nicely. She has finished up with one withering leaf and with more to come right behind it. The buds are super purple now. They look great! Cloudy trichomes are now super dominant. So it's just a waiting game for the amber to come in. She still has a decent amount of water left in the reservoir, so I'm not too worried about that. Nothing else to report for the day. Just a beautiful plant nearing the end of its life. Watermelon Two is still a bit behind. I didn't bother checking her trichomes as she is definitely not there yet. I'll really look at them in a few days. She will need a reservoir refill today. Another half gallon should do it. The one fading leaf is taking its sweet time to fade more. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.1° RH: 59.4% VPD: 1.19 kPa August 26, 2023 Watermelon One is looking absolutely beautiful. More leaves are dying and the others are getting lighter or more purple. I have a few leaves that might turn out like a tequila sunrise. Very pretty. The colas are all very pretty and chunky and smelling and delicious. Just a few more days and she will be ready to go. No water needed today, nor for the rest of the grow I think. Maybe I'll add a quarter gallon tomorrow to the reservoir. Maybe. Just in case. Watermelon Two has about 5 days left. Maybe a week. Her buds are very green and trichome production isn't quite as impressive as her sister plant, but still covered. She still only has that one leaf fading. We shall see. She won't be needing water for a bit if at all. Her trichomes are still not there. That's it for today. Nothing else to report. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.9° RH: 59.3% VPD: 1.22 kPa August 27, 2023 Watermelon One looks absolutely stunning now. More leaves are dying off and the buds are getting more colorful. Trichome production is still heavily underway. Still not enough amber trichomes on the buds, but there is an abundance of them on the sugar leaves. A great sign. I added about a half gallon to her reservoir for the time being. I'm not exactly sure when she'll be ready, but I'm not all that worried about it. If it's dry by harvest, good. If it's still wet, then oh well. Either way, I'm fine with it. Plus, wouldn't it make sense to have a plant with a bit more water retention to slow down the drying process? Or to just extend, but it's still a good way to get that 10 to 14 days on the dry. Just a thought. Her buds are super dense now. Maybe the last few days will pack on some extra weight. Watermelon Two is also doing quite well. As I have been saying, she is definitely behind a few days. I may actually have to swap all the plants around and turn the main tent into a dry tent and the dry tent into a running tent to finish her up. We shall see though. I found another leave that is starting to fade. It seems like this one just wants to take it's time and finish up. I guess a bit later than it should. Also, why have all of my flowering times in all of my runs extend 2 weeks. What am I doing incorrectly? Maybe fluctuating environment. Or too much handling in the flowering stage? Maybe I should just leave them completely alone in the flowering stage after week 2. Maybe that will get a better flowering time. I dunno. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.0° RH: 57.2% 1.21 kPa August 28, 2023 Watermelon One is nearly done. More dying leaves, more colors. Mostly cloudy trichomes with some amber here and there and a few more clear than I want. But very close to ready. I also managed to get some pretty decent trichome pics. She is kinda cruising through water at the moment. I may have to refill the reservoir at least with a half gallon. Today or tomorrow. I'll check her trichomes tomorrow and see how she looks. Or later on this afternoon. I've also been removing the really dead leaves to help direct energy to more important places. I'm debating if I want to wet or dry trim this one. Personally, I feel like the high humidity I am experiencing warrants a wet trim. To prevent mold. I'll have to see how the humidity is by then. Watermelon Two is starting to fade a bit more. She also has some color coming in. She still has water in her reservoir and will most likely need another half gallon tomorrow. She still has a good 5 to 7 days left before she is ready. At least based on how Watermelon One is finishing up. In that case, it should be about a week after I harvest Watermelon One. 🤔 Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.6° RH: 56.0% (finally managed to get the humidity down to something reasonable. I'd still like it below 50%) VPD: 1.23 kPa August 29, 2023 Today was supposed to be the last day for these ladies. I am now questioning everything about my growing technique. These are supposed to be a 10 week strain. However we are coming up to week 13 and I still don't have amber trichomes. At least none on the buds. And it has always been like this. I have to be doing something wrong. Anyway, no amber trichomes on any buds from either plant. Watermelon One is still working on those trichomes. The fade is strong with this one. I'm going to harvest soon either way. There's no way every single strain I grow takes 14 weeks plus. It doesn't make sense. So I'm going to give it another week or less. I really think it's too long, but again, she's just not ready. I'm not going to bother watering her anymore. I want her to stress a little bit. Maybe that will help those trichomes mature faster. Watermelon Two is starting to fade more. She looks good if not a very slow lady. She has a minimum of 7 days left. But the colors are starting to come in and her smell is getting stronger. I'll definitely have to water her this afternoon. I think a full reservoir is appropriate. That should last a few days. Maybe a 4? Maybe less. Regardless, I'm going to ensure she is happy for the rest of the grow. Update: I ended up filling the reservoir for Watermelon Two and added a half gallon to Watermelon One. Just in case. Plus she's drying up and I don't think she will be ready in 3 days. I don't get it. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.7° RH: 56.9% VPD: 1.21 kPa

August 30, 2023 Day 92 I have no idea when these 2 are going to finish up. Watermelon One looks done, but has very little amber trichomes. Maybe this week? Watermelon Two is a wild card now. She does not look done and the fade only started just the other day. So, she is very far behind. I might have to extend the grow out yet another week. Watermelon One is looking great as ever. She has beautiful colors and rock hard nugs all over the place. And I mean rock hard. No bend or SQUEEESH whatsoever. It's wonderful. Her trichomes are still mostly cloudy, but still no where near enough amber trichomes. There has to be something wrong with the environment, or something I'm doing or did to extend the grow out so long. Anyway, this plant should hopefully be ready by the end of the week. 7 days is plenty of time to finish up. Watermelon Two on the other hand is going to take much longer than expected. We are talking a total of 15 weeks? 17 of you count drying. Either way, it's going to take another week or 2 for her to finish up, maybe over 2 weeks. Now I'm just throwing numbers out there. 2 weeks more would be ridiculous. The fade is gradually increasing. I'm wondering if it will take off suddenly. Especially because the grow tent is getting cooler as I fight with temps in my dry tent. So it's a win win for me. As long as it stays like this for the next week or 2, maybe I'll have some impressive bud. Maybe not the best structure, but certainly potent and strong. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.9° RH: 57.5% VPD: 1.20 kPa August 31, 2023 Watermelon One has super dense purple buds. Some really pretty pink edged leaves. Tons and tons of cloudy trichomes. What a coating of frost she has. Still waiting for those amber trichomes to come out. Watermelon Two is fading in earnest now. I'm not entirely sure what to expect from this plant. Her buds are nowhere near like the ones on her sister plant. It's definitely a sign of stunted growth and just didn't recover in time. So I have some wispy buds, some dense tops, but not a lot. Quality should be good though. We shall see what happens when she is fully mature. Anyway, her trichome production is decent. Not as coated as I'd like, but still pretty good. The environment is now looking pretty decent. Humidity is in an acceptable range if not a little too high still. Temps have backed off a bit for the final bit of flower. Everything is leveling out. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.9° RH: 57.4% VPD: 1.24 kPa September 1, 2023 Watermelon One has more amber trichomes! Finally coming along! A few more days should do it. The chop will be happening this week. I ended up adding another half gallon to the reservoir. She was getting a bit too dry for the day. So she may be a bit moist, but probably not. Strong aroma and super sticky. Buds are getting darker and leaves are developing more purple tones. There's also more dying leaves. Everything looks to be in excellent order. Watermelon Two is getting some amber trichomes as well. Leaves are fading all over now. The top buds are hardening up while lower buds are a bit wispy and loose. This last week should put more weight on before harvest. Her tops are definitely really light. I can't wait to get this one harvested. I feel like the quality is going to be really good. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.5° RH: 54.2° VPD: 1.35 kPa September 2, 2023 An oversight on my part here, but my light was at 25" from canopy and at 70% power on a 240w light. Well, I thought that was a good height and intensity. But then I noticed some leaves reaching and up from the outside edges of the plants. So I checked the PAR and found it was like 680 PPFD or so. So I increased the intensity to 80% and dropped the light down to 22". Now we have a nice reading of just over 800 PPFD. I've definitely learned quite a bit from this grow about what not to do with lighting. And to double check my work like I should have in the first place. Whoops. Watermelon One has maybe 3 days left. The pistils are starting to really curl up and shrivel. I didn't realize they still had shrinking to do. So now that they are, I'm sure it's a sign of doneness. Also, strangely, she needed another half gallon of water. She completely soaked up the first half in no time. I'll check later today to see what's happening. Everything else looks great. There is that one weird branch that I spoke of a while back. It has foxtails all over it and is definitely behind the rest of the plant. Well, I think I figured out the issue. An error on my part while training. There is a side branch that I somehow overlapped the auxiliary branch in question. So I believe the side branch choked the foxtail branch and caused the issue. I could be wrong, but that's all I could see that was odd, and it makes sense. There's even a bud growing around the side branch. It's curious indeed. Watermelon Two is flash fading. I swear. Nearly every leaf on the plant started yellowing over night. Quite a few leaves have some really coming through now. Not much in purple on the leaves, but the purple in all over the buds now. A few more days like this and she will be full of wonderful purple plant. Or at least a starburst type of color with purple hues everywhere. I dunno. I'll have to see. She should be as pretty as her sister plant. She also completely ran out of water. I'm going to add another gallon to the reservoir for now. It seems she suddenly picked up in absorption speed a bit. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.9° RH: 53.2% VPD: 1.40 kPa September 3, 2023 Another super humid day. Which is messing with the temp in the tent. Right now it's 80° where is should be around 75° humidity is 80% outside today, so boo to that. Temp is also 76° today. So it's muggy to say the least. Watermelon One is nearly ready. Another couple days I think. Just waiting for a few more amber trichomes. No watering today, nothing else either. Just a couple pics, a check of the trichomes and that's about it. More dying leaves, more purple. Deeper purple too. Watermelon Two has about 5 days to a week left. Her fade is really taking off now. Not as pretty as Watermelon One, but still very nice. Super fat buds. Honestly, I can't wait to see what she smokes like. Maybe she will be top notch. We shall see. Grow System Environment: Temp: 77° RH: 55.5% VPD: 1.39 kPa September 4, 2023 Watermelon One is looking like she is just about done. I'm going to give her another day or 2 to completely finish up. Happily, she will be harvested the same day the plants in the drying tent come out. So there won't be any space issues. I think I'll clear the fan leaves out tomorrow evening. Her reservoir is empty and won't be refilled. The buds are all deep purple. From what I understand, that's the Tropicana Cookies parent. Very nice. Watermelon Two is a different phenome I think. She didn't get purple like her sister plant. However, her buds are now almost as dense. Not quite, but almost. Maybe another week for her. Maybe less. I might be super wrong and she'll be harvested tomorrow or the next day. I just have to double check the trichomes. Update: I checked the trichomes of both plants and I think I'll be harvesting in 2 days. Both of them have almost all cloudy trichomes and some amber. Watermelon One has more amber trichomes and very few clear. Watermelon Two has mostly cloudy trichomes with a couple amber and maybe 5% clear. The 2 days should let them fully ripen. Grow System Environment: Temp: 77.5° RH: 58.4% VPD: 1.31 kPa September 5, 2023 Watermelon One will be chopped tomorrow or the next day I think. She has a decent amount of amber trichomes now and very few clear. I'll give the next day just to make sure. Watermelon Two looks like she still needs more time, but I may actually be incorrect. I've been basing her age on the color of the buds, but I think this is a green phenome. She does have hues of purple, but no color besides green and yellow. I'll keep checking her trichomes for the next couple days. I may even have to harvest tomorrow as well. It all depends on what I see today and tomorrow. Her trichomes do have a few more amber spots and much less clear than the other day. Grow System Environment: Temp: 76.5° RH: 57.7% VPD: 1.29 kPa Update: After carefully checking each bud and a deep look at the trichomes of both plants, they are both ready to go. I'll be harvesting tomorrow after I pull the 2 drying plants out of the dry tent.

September 6, 2023 Day 99 Harvest This harvest was surprisingly heavy considering the smaller size of these ladies. Wet Weight: Wet Trimmed...Mostly. Watermelon One: 19 oz. Watermelon Two 13 oz. Both are hanging in the main tent for now until the last plant in the dry tent finishes up. Probably 2 weeks of drying as the buds are so very dense. I'll be moving them over to the dry tent ASAP due to new plants getting ready to sprout. Will check in tomorrow. September 7, 2023 Drying Stage Day 1: Like my last harvest, the humidity is ridiculously high. And absolutely refuses to relent. Even with all the space in the main tent, nits still over 70% RH. Temp is fine but wow. I have never experienced this much humidity in effing Buffalo NY for such a long time. It's been nearly a month of this and it's going to keep up for however long. Anyway, I turned the dehumidifier on to hopefully blow some dry air to get a hint of a drop in RH. Everything else looks fine. Just drying. UPDATE: The house AC kicked on and brought the RH and Temp within range. Dry System Environment: Temp: 66.5° RH: 69.8% VPD: 0.66 kPa UPDATE: I had to move the plant drying in the dry tent over to share the main tent with these ladies. I needed room somewhere to accommodate new seedlings in the next day or 2. As soon as this other plant finishes drying these 2 are going in the dry tent for the rest of their time. A little bit of a swapparoo. But necessary and all part of the plan. September 8, 2023 Day 2: Looking good so far. Humidity is a bit high, but there's a decent amount of air flow, so I'm not all that worried. This will be a 14 day dry. And it should be a great quality product afterwards. Then a 3 week cure. Dry System Environment: Temp: 67.7° RH: 64.6% VPD: 0.79 kPa September 9, 2023 Day 3: Not much to update. The humidity in the dry tent is too high. I may have the same issue as my last grow. The RH is ridiculously high and it's been drying for 17 days and still no sign of finishing up. I'll be checking these ladies out in about 2 weeks. Just pictures for now. I'll update daily with whatever happens. Mostly environmental stuff. Update: I have to replace my portable AC. It's defective and is decidedly the cause of the super high humidity. The condenser builds too much condensation and when it shuts off that condensation evaporates back through the fans in right back into the room. Producing more humidity and this killing the humidity in the room. That in turn spikes the humidity in the tent and with it off, the house ac is doing the job just fine. Replacement in the works. (House AC only runs for about 5 hours a day) Dry System Environment: Temp: 66.5° RH: 64.2% VPD: 0.78 kPa September 10, 2023 Day 4: I moved the plants to the small tent. The other plant that was drying with these ladies is now trimmed and jarred. (241 grams) So now there's plenty of space. I ended up cutting them up as well. Now there is lots of space for air movement. We shall see how it goes. I don't want mold again. Dry System Environment: Temp: 67.8° RH: 68.9% VPD: 0.73 kPa September 11, 2023 Day 5: Humidity is really high today. 98% RH outside and nearly 76% in the dry tent. I may have to move them back to the big tent until the seedlings I have going move in. Let's hope this all pans out properly. The original goal was to harvest and trim at the same time as the 2 other plants that shared the tent. Hopefully this won't take 17 days to dry. Dry System Environment: Temp: 67.8° RH: 68.9% VPD: 0.73 kPa September 12, 2023 Day 6: The humidity in the tent is kinda bouncy, but I think I found a solution. I put my larger dehumidifier in the dry tent and have my ac blowing directly on the tent. So far it seems to be working, kinda. Dry System Environment: Temp: 67.4° RH: 63.9 % VPD: 0.85 kPa September 13, 2023 Day 7: Nothing to report today. Humidity is still a bit too high, but it's not in the 70s. More like between 60% and 65%. Temps are fine still. Dry System Environment: Temp: 69.6° RH: 63.9% VPD: 0.89 kPa September 14, 2023 Day 8: I'd say we are about 3/4 way there. Another 5 days or so and these ladies should be all ready to go. I've managed to get a bit of a handle on the RH. I'm using a mix of dehumidifier in the tent and the AC blowing directly at the tent. Keeps the temp down and humidity at a near constant rate. Dry System Environment: Temp: 65.8° RH: 63.1% VPD: 0.80 kPa September 15, 2023 Day 9: I woke up to a much too warm dry tent today. It was 74° in there, and the RH was too low at around 51% So I turned on the AC for a bit to drop the temp. Happily, the temp dropped to 68° and RH is up to 56% As long as everything stays where it's at, I'll have some perfectly smokable bud in the next few days. Maybe 5? Either way, I'm very excited for this crop to dry. Dry System Environment: Temp: 68.1° RH: 55.2% VPD: 1.07 kPa September 16, 2023 Day 10: It's the start of the snap test. Nothing today, but certainly almost ready. Just a few more days. However, I have a small issue. I don't have anymore curing jars. I ran out with my last grow. It's a small problem to have, but a bit of a time crunch. Anyway, these plants have the best buds I've grown so far. I may have had a white widow over a year ago that had some really good bud, but not as good as this, I think. Also, I think I finally have the environment under control. Let's hope it stays like this for the next few days. Dry System Environment: Temp: 67° RH: 60.1% VPD: 0.91 kPa September 17, 2023 Day 11: Another couple of days in the dry tent for these ladies. The snap test is getting closer and closer. The stems are hardening off and the bend is almost restrictive and almost there. It's still going to take a bit more time. Like 2 to 3 days. But when these ladies are done, I'm going to have some fantastic bud. I think I can actually clear out some jars for these ladies to cure. 1 grave bag and 1 jar so far. I'll need 4 total. 2 jars and 2 grove bags should do it. It'll take a bit of maneuvering and maybe some smaller jars, but they aren't for curing. So I'll have to see what I can pull off. So that's it for the day. Update: I think I'm going to try and drop the RH. It was hovering around 62%, but I think maybe 55% to 58% would be good. I feel like it would be good for the rest of the dry. If it works that is. Major Update: I found a branch from Watermelon Two that seemed to be done. Maybe it wasn't, but it definitely wasn't too far off. The total trimmed weight is 2.8 grams. Dry System Environment: Temp: 66.4° RH: 62.3% VPD: 0.84 kPa September 18, 2023 Day 12: I've noticed that when the humidity is way up, as it has been, the moisture in the stems comes back. I feel like these ladies are dry, but none of the stems are snapping anymore. It doesn't feel like they are anywhere close to done, but just the other day, they were almost snapping. It's humid again today, so that's certainly the reason for the high humidity in the tent. However, I do have the dehumidifier in there with the AC blowing on it again. It seems to be keeping everything in check. Let's hope it stays like that. Dry System Environment: Temp: 65.9° RH: 62.8% VPD: 0.82 kPa September 19, 2023 Curing Stage Day 1: So just a recap of this grow and bud structure. It started out kinda rough with lighting issues. But then, although short, these ladies produced some pretty dense bud. And a total of 5oz! Wow! Still happily surprised. Between the 2 diaries I was running at once, I have a total of 13.5 oz out of a total of 4 plants. Wow.
