I'm super excited to be back and growing with this community. I recently tried this strain and for me it had great medicinal effects to help with stress, pain, and inflammation. This seed was given to me for free, so I decided to give it a go and what better breeder to spend my time and energy on.
I dropped her in a small jiffy pot with soil, added water, and placed the jiffy pot on a heat mat with a humidity dome, 3 days later she spouted... And we are off! After that I planted her in the final 3 gallon fabric pot.
Week 1, here we go! I'm so happy to be back and growing with this GD community. The support here has been amazing and I looking forward to meeting more fellow medicine growers, building stronger existing relationships, and helping when I can.
It's been a strong start for this gorilla, can't believe how big she is already at day 7:-) I have my grow light at 40% power at 24 inches from the canopy this week.
I have my grow light at 40% power at 24 inches from the canopy this week. For my soil I'm using a mixture of Fox Farm soils and organic perlite to help aerate, promotes root growth and prevent soil compaction.
Day 1: Light watering only around the plant with plain PH'd filtered well water
Day 3: Light watering only around the plant with PH'd filtered well water and biobizz root juice
Day 5: Light watering around the plant with PH'd filtered well water and biobizz root juice
Day 7: First full pot watering, watered with plain PH'd filtered well water
Happy Growing Everyone!
Welcome to the jungle at week 2! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at this Gorilla grow! 💪 I also have a strawberry pie in the oven so check out that diary if you feel inclined to do so. 👈
It has been a strong start and I happy with the progress, she practically doubled in 1 week. 😀 Fastbuds mentioned she can accept a big feed at 3 weeks and onward, but I'm slowly going to add nutrients and see how she responds. I know autos have a tendency to be more sensitive to feeding and depending on your soil mixture will determine how many nutes to use at early stages. This is first time I'm using FoxFarm soil mixture with perlite so I have to feel my way through this grow. The light this week was at 24in/60cm with 40% intensity.
Day 8: Watered with plain PH'd water
Day 9: Monitored and rotated strawberry goodness to provide light at different angles (not sure if that helps :-)
Day 10: Watered with plain PH'd water
Day 11: Monitored and rotated to provide light at different angles
Day 12: Watered with PH'd water and added a 1/2 dose of bio-heavan
Day 13: Monitored and rotated to provide light at different angles
Day 14: Watered with PH'd water and added a 1/2 dose of bio-heavan

She is picking up steam and has doubled in size this week 😀 I'm trying to find out the right amount of water to give at the moment, I don't want to over soak the soil but be sure the entire medium gets enough moisture. The light this week was at 22in/55cm with 40% intensity, should be around 500 PPFD at the canopy. Next week I will be increasing to 550 PPFD. I will be exploring some LST to see if I can encourage an even canopy for light distribution.
Day 15: Watered with 1.5L of water and added a 1ml/L dose of bio-heaven (PH 6.5)
Day 16: Monitored and rotated to provide light at different angles

Welcome to the jungle at week 4! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at this Gorilla grow! 💪 I also have a strawberry pie in the oven so check out that diary if you feel inclined to do so. 👈
The light this week was at 20in/50cm with 60% intensity, should be around 550 PPFD at the canopy. I preformed some LST on multiple bud sites to see if I can encourage an even canopy for light distribution. In addition, I need to perform some defoliation, but holding off until we are out of pre-flowering stage so I don't slow down any growth.
Day 22: Monitored and rotated to provide light at different angles
Day 23: Performed LST by bending over and tying down multiple bud sites to encourage an even canopy. Watered with 1L of water and added a .5ml/L dose of bio-grow (PH 6.5)
Day 24: Monitored and rotated to provide light at different angles
Day 25: Monitored and rotated to provide light at different angles

Welcome to the jungle at week 5! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at this Gorilla grow! 💪 I also have a strawberry pie in the oven so check out that diary if you feel inclined to do so. 👈
This week she is really taking off and stretching. The light this week was at 20in/50cm with 60% intensity, should be around 550 PPFD at the canopy. I've been continuing to perform LST to encourage an even canopy for light distribution. I also performed some very light defoliation, copy leaves here and there, and will continue into week 6 being mindful not to not take too many leaves at a time.
Day 29: Monitored and rotated to provide light at different angles
Day 30: Monitored and rotated to provide light at different angles

Welcome to the jungle at week 6! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at this Gorilla grow! 💪 I also have a strawberry pie in the oven so check out that diary if you feel inclined to do so. 👈
This week the stretching started to slow and she is focusing more on flower production. The light was at 20in/50cm with 60% intensity, should be around 550 PPFD or 45 DLI at the canopy. I performed some very light defoliation, couple of leaves here and there, and will continue so to ensure air flow and light exposure to the bud sites.
Stress symptoms will be more evident now and appear in the form of slow growth, yellow and discolored foliage, and burnt leaf tips. With said, I have noticed some minor burnt edges and leaf tips and since I've been using 1/2 dose of nutrients so I'm not sure if it is nutrient burn or some deficiency, it difficult to tell at his point.
In week 7 I will be increasing my "bloom" nutrients with higher levels of potassium and phosphorus to stimulate bud growth and hopefully slow stress symptoms.
Day 36: Monitored and rotated to provide light at different angles
Day 37: Watered with 2L of water and added a 1ml/L dose of bio-grow, 1.5ml/L bio-bloom, and 1ml/L of top-max (PH 6.5) and performed some light defoliation
Day 38: Monitored and rotated to provide light at different angles

I increased my "bloom" nutrients with higher levels of potassium and phosphorus to stimulate bud growth and hopefully slow stress symptoms. During this stage she will continue to develop roots but much more energy is put into flower/bud formation. Elongation continues but a a very slow rate. Calyxes with pistils continue to develop and buds fill in and growing really is getting exciting now.
Day 43: Monitored and rotated to provide light at different angles
Day 44: Watered with 2L of water and added a .5ml/L dose of bio-grow, 3ml/L bio-bloom, and .5ml/L of top-max (PH 6.5) and performed some light defoliation

Welcome to the jungle at week 9! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at this Gorilla grow! 💪 I also have a strawberry pie in the oven so check out that diary if you feel inclined to do so. 👈
The light was at 20in/50cm with 70% intensity, and is measuring around 50DLI at the top of the canopy. I performed some very light defoliation to just remove the yellow or dying leaves.
There has been some increased yellow on lower leafs and is traveling up the plant so she is hungry, I've been light on nutrients but this week I provide full dose that includes higher levels of potassium and phosphorus to stimulate bud growth and hopefully slow stress symptoms.

At the start of this week I flushed this gorilla with plain PH'd water and as you can see the yellow of the leaves are increasing. I will continue with plain PH'd water for the rest of the week.
She is at 90% cloudy and 10% amber and will be ready for harvest at week 12. The buds have continued to gain in mass and the smell is just amazing. I tried to take some close up photos, she is frosty one. 😀

This week is harvest week :-) I watered only with plain PH'd water and 2 days before harvest I removed the larger fan leaves to help with light penetration to lower bud sites and reduce the amount when trimming before drying. I will be adding my harvest post once the buds are fully dried and I've trimmed and weighed everything.

Day 81: Harvest :-)
Happy Growing to everyone!!
I enjoyed growing this gorilla, I ended up with 58 grams/2 ounces of dried flower. When it came time for harvest, the buds were not as compact as I expected. I only kept the high quality buds and the ones that were airy I didn't even weigh. I took it easy on the nutrients and think I definitely could have pushed this gorilla more. 💪
