Welcome back my friends! Here I'll be attempting to grow White Cherry Gelato, sort of. This is a bagseed diary. I was lucky enough to score a White Cherry Gelato seed out of some dispensary sample recently. As such, it should be noted that this is a second generation, and could be unstable, crossed with something unknown, or whatever. It might not even be a photoperiodic plant. Nothing is a given except the cultivar from which this seed was produced. Let's have some fun, shall we?

Day 50 - September 14, 2023
Alright, so the original strain where I found this seed, White Cherry Gelato, is supposed to have some reddish purple coloration in flower, but I haven't seen anything like this, especially in veg. Also, one of the larger dark red fans had some necrosis in the middle and was completely desiccated. I am beginning to think this is just a severe red mutant phenotype, since this is week 8 and it is still happy-looking with new growth, even if slow. I believe she is supposed to stay very short, so she could be just like another photo I have veging right now that has been showing preflowers and has been ready for me to flip the light for about 4 weeks now, but it is still the same size. Sometimes they don't want to grow any larger. There is also guaranteed a lot to do with this soil mix. It is from an old soil mix, and it is no good at all. There is no aeration, so this plant could even have root rot. But until it starts really letting me know something is wrong, I'm going to let it be red or whatever it wants to be until it is time for me to give it the flip it needs!
To clarify, I do not believe this seed came from a hermie mother. I believe that it got pollinated, which is completely possible, because the vendor is a commercial outdoor grower for the state of New York. A hermaphroditic seed would be nearly identical to its mother

This is a fascinating specimen! I would take some cuttings before moving on to flower-phase if I were you. By preserving this one, you can keep experimenting and get the grow dialed in. Even if the first run doesn't finish flawlessly you can keep it running as a side-project ππ
