nonick123 Welcome to the GG4 Sherbet FF diary sponsored by FastBuds Thank you so much to @Fast_Buds for sending me these seeds! I hope to have a spectacular harvest! I chose this genetic variety because the diaries and its technical sheet mention strong resistance to low temperatures, and this is a parameter that I won’t be able to control. 10/05: A seed is placed in a glass with filtered water (TDS 50 PPMs) + 3 drops of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and placed in a dark spot at 25 ºC for 24 hours. 10/06: A 400 ml pot is prepared with Light Mix substrate + 15% Coco + 10% Perlite. The pot is moistened to runoff with filtered water (TDS: 50 PPMs). A 1 cm deep hole is made, the seed is randomly placed in the hole, covered with a bit of substrate, and lightly moistened with spray water. The pot is placed in a propagator with 4 LED lights, which emit 200 - 300 PPFD (the LED won't turn on until it germinates!)

nonick123 Day 1 (08/10): The seed has germinated! 💥 I turn on the LED lights. Day 5 (12/10): The roots are starting to peek out from the bottom, so I go ahead with the transplant to keep it company with its friend Biscotti in the process. It’s transplanted into a 5-liter pot with a substrate made up of 40% Light Mix + 30% Coco + 30% Perlite. The substrate is soaked with 1.5 liters of H2O pH 6.4 and the transplant is done. It’s taken to the cabinet and the height of the lamp is adjusted to achieve PPFD 290. Day 8 (15/10): The plant is standing tall and growing vigorously for the few days it has been alive. There seems to be good genetics inside it!

nonick123 Day 9 (16/10) It has stretched a lot from one day to the next! 😍 It took 4 days to respond to the transplant. Day 12 (19/10) The plants continue to develop their new nodes very healthily 😁 It's amazing how this plant, which is 5 days younger than its cousin Biscotti, is growing so much faster! Day 15 (22/10) The plant is developing at a breakneck speed with large leaves and a wonderful green color. We're already on the 3rd real node.

It has developed 2 nodes in 24 hours! Day 21 (28/10) This girl is at the 5th node, so it's time to do some topping! Due to the vigor she shows, I couldn't resist taking 2 clones (using my honey method 😁) from the lower branches that were growing from the first non-real node (leaves from a tip) Let's see how they turn out! Day 22 (29/10) Watering with 500 ml of rested H2O + Molasses 1 ml / l + BioGrow Biobizz 1 ml / l + Sugar Royal 1 ml / l + Bio-pH+ 1 ml - pH 6.4 - 740 PPMs The plant has responded wonderfully to the topping! The lower branches have started to stretch noticeably 😍

nonick123 Day 24 (31/10). I spot some flies in the substrate and place a yellow sticky trap at substrate level. A few hours later, there are already several flies stuck. Day 25 (01/11). The plant is responding well to the topping! 💥 The lower branches are starting to grow quickly and develop new nodes. We'll do LST when they're big enough. Day 27 (03/11). The transplant is done into an 11-liter (3-gallon) smart pot with Biobizz Light Mix substrate + 2 grams of Azomite per liter of substrate. The root ball was packed with roots! In 22 days since the last transplant, the roots are ready to be transplanted (maybe 3 days earlier would have been better, because I struggled to get the root ball out of the pot). I water with 1 liter of rested H2O + Molasses 1 ml/l + BioGrow Biobizz 1 ml/l + Sugar Royal 1 ml/l - pH 6.5 - 740 PPMs. Let's see how it reacts to the transplant! Day 29 (05/11). The plant has reacted well to the transplant and is stretching the lateral branches trying to reach the top of the canopy! In a few days, to flowering! 😃 The clones are doing their thing. They show some discoloration, but it's normal for being very close to the damp soil. When they reach 15 days, I'll see if they have rooted or not! 💪

nonick123 Day 32 (11/08). I’m applying LST to this girl who is going to start flowering in 3 days. I hope to see a strong response! 😍💥 Currently, she has a short internodal space, which has made LST difficult, but I’ve applied it in anticipation of the stretch during flowering. Day 33 (11/09). I find that the two upper branches have "pulled" the LST wires and have gone vertical. This girl seems to be very strong! 💥 Day 34 (11/10). I’m changing the light schedule to 15/9 (gradual transition to flowering). Day 35 (11/11). Sometimes incredible things happen in this community. Our growmie @Theia generously offered to send me a ViparSpectra XS2000 lamp. Yesterday I was finally able to pick it up at the post office, and today I’ve installed it! 😍😁 It’s amazing to have a lamp that almost completely covers the width of the cabinet (the lamp is 50 cm, and the cabinet is 60x60 cm), which makes the light uniformity (PPFD) over the plants almost complete, as it physically covers them almost entirely. Now I understand @Theia’s theory that lights should be oversized and play with the dimmer, as it allows you to have practically perfect coverage! I think this is going to give an impressive boost to my crops! 😍💥 Thank you so much @Theia for doing this for me! 🙏 I’m adjusting the LST of the plants; I think I’m achieving a pretty level canopy (that’s my intention). I’m changing the light schedule to 14/10 (gradual transition to flowering). I’m watering with 1 liter of rested H2O + 1 ml/l of Molasses + 1.5 ml/l of BioGrow Biobizz + 1 ml/l of Sugar Royal - pH 6.25 - 750 PPMs. Day 36 (11/12). Final transition to flowering with a light schedule of 12/12 💥 It shows slight nutrient burn after yesterday’s watering (whitish tips). I need to keep an eye on it during the next watering! The plants are showing many new shoots today and impressive growth. I think the combination of the new lamp + the start of the stretch is giving the girls a good push! 😍 The clones have rooted and are showing new shoots, but I think I’m going to give them to a friend so I don’t get overwhelmed with more plants in the cabinet. The honey method (without complicated additives) works perfectly for rooting clones. 😁

nonick123 Day 39 (11/15/2023) The plant still hasn't shown pre-flowers (sex) but it is growing a lot. The watering demand has increased, and in just 4 days the substrate is already "dry" (In previous weeks I was watering every 7-8 days) Watering with 1 liter of rested H2O + Molasses 1 ml / l + Alga Bloom 2 ml / l + Sugar Royal 1 ml / l + Power Buds 1 ml / l - pH 6.25 - 748 PPMs ATTENTION to Alga Bloom users from Plagron: It raises the EC a lot (almost 450 PPMs with 2 ml / L) so measure the EC and start with 50% of the manufacturer's recommended dose... Day 40 (11/16/2023) The plant is stretching a lot! 😍💥 I'm making LST adjustments to open up the canopy more. I think I won't be placing the branches horizontally anymore, because they already cover the entire surface of the pot. Day 42 (11/18/2023) This girl showed her sex 6 days after switching to flowering 😁 Day 43 (11/19/2023). The temperatures are starting to drop. I don't know how it will affect her. For now, we have 18 - 20 ºC during the light hours and 15-18 ºC during the dark hours. This week she has grown very well. I'm expecting a lot of vertical growth in the coming days/weeks, as I'm not going to adjust the LST anymore.

nonick123 Day 44 (11/20/2023). The pre-flowers are starting to turn into flowers. This is going fast (FF) 😍 Day 45 (11/21/2023) Watering with 1 liter of H2O (Base ≈ 264 PPMs) + Molasses 1 ml / l + Alga Bloom 2.5 ml / l + Sugar Royal 1 ml / l + Power Buds 1 ml / l - pH 6.42 - 756 PPMs I’ve introduced a change in the watering water in this diary from the start. I’m using 50% rested tap water (≈550 PPMs) + 50% reverse osmosis water (6 PPMs). The result is a base H2O with TDS of ≈264 PPMs. Day 46 (11/22/2023) I’m doing a selective defoliation of a couple of leaves that are blocking the secondary branches in the center of the canopy. Is this a good idea? Day 47 (11/23/2023) I’m being unfaithful to what I said a few days ago 😁 and I’m adjusting the LST again to have a perfectly leveled canopy. Well, in the end, growing is about flowing with the plant, right? 😍 In this plant, the branches were very concentrated in the center of the canopy, and the LST adjustment was necessary, plus I defoliated 2 more leaves to improve light penetration. Day 49 (11/25/2023) The plant is starting to stretch, so I’m raising the lamp to have about 600 PPFD in the canopy. Day 50 (11/26/2023) Watering with 1 liter of H2O (Base ≈ 264 PPMs) + Molasses 1 ml / l + Alga Bloom 3 ml / l + Sugar Royal 1 ml / l + Power Buds 1 ml / l - pH 6.35 - 718 PPMs. This week I’ve increased the Alga Bloom by 0.5 ml / l because the TDS allowed it. I don’t want to go above 750 PPMs until the flowering progresses further. Currently, the plant looks very healthy, with a deep green color but not excessive, and with the new shoots being a bright light green. All the nodes are starting to show flower formation, so we can say the plant is officially in flowering.

nonick123 Day 51 (11/27/2023) The plant is starting to stretch! It has grown several centimeters since yesterday. I need to raise the lamp so it doesn't exceed 650 PPFD. Day 52 (11/28/2023) Rapid vertical growth! I'm raising the lamp again to maintain 650 PPFD at the canopy. Day 54 (11/30/2023) The stretch is progressing quickly, so I'm going to change the setup in the cabinet a bit. Until now, the fan was above the lamp to keep it close to the canopy, but since this is happening fast, I decide to switch it. I raise the lamp to 35 cm from the canopy and place the fan just below. This way, the plants get a bit more direct air, but nothing excessive in my opinion. I adjust the lamp dimmer to 50%, where I'm already getting about 680 - 700 PPFD at the canopy. Let's see how they stretch in the coming days! 😁 On another note, I'm going to start measuring the height of the plants daily because I realize that by looking at them every day, I can't assess the growth rate unless I take measurements! As of 11/30/2023 = 19 cm tall. Day 56 (12/02/2023) Watering with 1 liter of H2O (Base ≈ 264 PPMs) + Molasses 1 ml / l + Alga Bloom 3 ml / l + Sugar Royal 1 ml / l + Power Buds 1 ml / l - pH 6.25 - 768 PPMs. The plant is very bushy in the center, so I decide to open its branches a bit. I know that doing LST during flowering isn't recommended, but there's little airflow and the buds are going to end up touching when they fatten up. The buds are starting to show their first trichomes! 😍

Yesterday I did a minimal defoliation (2 leaves) and when I turned them over I noticed they are purple The appearance on the top is healthy and normal Does this have any significance? Genetics? Thanks for your comments! 💪

Hello friend! I couldn't say it's an alarming excess of nutrients, however that usually happens to me in my indoor winter grows where sometimes the nights drop to about 16°C. The leaves look very healthy and there are no signs of discoloration above, I think it's purely due to genetics and environmental factors 😁💐

nonick123 Day 58 (04/12/2023) I defoliated a couple of leaves that were blocking the light from the center of the canopy. Day 59 (05/12/2023) The plants are undergoing light defoliation in the canopy and a more severe Lollipopping process with disinfected scissors. Following the advice of my friend and great grower @MiyaguiOkPolilla, I applied a bit of cinnamon to the cuts to prevent infections. Let's see how it reacts to this stress! Day 60 (06/12/2023) It seems that yesterday's work has affected it because it has stopped stretching 😕 I hope it's just a matter of 24 - 48 hours of recovery. Another important point is that it’s starting to get cold, and they are at 19 ºC with the lights on and 15-17 ºC with the lights off... Day 61 (07/12/2023) The plant is starting to acquire a purple hue on all the lower parts of the leaves as a reaction to the cold and its genetics! 😍 I don't know if it will be a very productive plant, but it looks like it’s going to be very beautiful 😁 I watered with 1 liter of H2O (Base ≈ 264 PPMs) + Molasses 1 ml / l + Alga Bloom 4 ml / l + Sugar Royal 1 ml / l + Power Buds 1 ml / l - pH 6.23 - 875 PPMs. I increased the Alga Bloom to 4 ml / l, and the PPMs are higher than I would like. I will do the next watering at 3.5 ml / l Alga Bloom. Additionally, I added a few centimeters of Light Mix substrate since it has compacted and lowered in level. Day 62 (08/12/2023) The leaves are starting to turn a beautiful purple color on top 😍😍😍 The stretch has stopped. Day 63 (09/12/2023) The smell starting to come out of the closet is interesting 😍😂 Time to buy and install a filter for extraction. Day 64 (10/12/2023) The leaves continue with their purple coloration. It’s going to be a beautiful plant. The smell of the buds nearby reminds me of a strain I grew 20 years ago, but I can't identify which one in my memories. The smell is intense, penetrating, and could be defined as a mix of earth and musk. It’s an unusual temperature for this time of year, so I have 24 ºC with the lights on and 18 ºC with the lights off. A bit warm for this time of year in my area!

nonick123 Day 65 (11/12/2023) I’m doing an intense defoliation of the inner part of the canopy since there are several fan leaves giving "shade" to the buds. Unfortunately, I partially cut one of the buds. Let’s see if it recovers or if I end up pulling it out... (the next day it was dead 😕) Day 66 (12/12/2023) Following the plan from the sponsor of this diary, PLAGRON, we start adding Green Sensation! My friend @MiyaguiOkPolilla tells me it’s a nutrient that has a big impact on the plants. We’re going to evaluate it in this cycle! 😁 Watering: 1 liter H2O + Molasses 1 ml / l + Alga Bloom 2 ml / l + Sugar Royal 1 ml / l + Power Buds 1 ml / l + Green Sensation 1 ml / l - pH 6.24 - 875 PPMs Following the advice of my growmie @Clutch, I’ve decided to open up the branches of the canopy. @Clutch made me realize that if the buds get too fat (which is the goal 😁), they will end up touching each other, which is not good for proper air circulation and to avoid problems like bud rot. The taller branches are very solid, but with the help of copper wire and clips to hold them to the edge of the pot, I managed to open them all up. Day 67 (13/12/2023) I’m reminded of what this plant smells like... Like Orange Bud from Dutch Passion in flowering! A strain I grew 20 years ago that I have a great memory of. I understand it must be from the "Sherbet" part of this genetic. Day 68 (14/12/2023) The PrimaKlima filter has arrived. I’m proceeding to set it up. Opening the canopy seems to have been a good idea. The buds are stretching upwards. Day 70 (16/12/2023) As flowering is progressing, I’m raising the PPFD to 800. Day 71 (17/12/2023) The plant has started showing senescence in the lower leaves. I don’t think it’s a deficiency because the leaves in the canopy look healthy and green. It has just made it to watering, with fan leaves drooping due to lack of watering. It seems it will be better to increase the watering frequency to every 4 days. Watering: 1 liter H2O + Molasses 1 ml / l + Alga Bloom 2 ml / l + Sugar Royal 1 ml / l + Power Buds 1 ml / l + Green Sensation 1 ml / l - pH 6.18 - 885 PPMs

I hope she hasn't been pollinated I fill the top of the substrate with 3 cm of Light Mix, as it has compacted a lot Watering very slowly with 500 ml of H2O to let it settle Day 78 (12/24/2023) I check daily hoping she isn't hermie or has been pollinated So far, everything is going well.... I'm adding a couple of videos so you can see the spectacular purple colors they are showing 😍 In 20 years of growing, I've never seen such a beautiful strain. I'm in love 😂

nonick123 Day 80 (12/26/2023) The plant keeps fattening its buds at cruising speed. Day 81 (12/27/2023) I check the trichomes and they are starting to look cloudy. 😍😍 I think I'm going to harvest it at 49 days of flowering as @fastbuds indicates. Day 82 (12/28/2023) Watering: 1 liter H2O + Molasses 1 ml/l + Alga Bloom 4 ml/l + Sugar Royal 1 ml/l + Power Buds 1 ml/l + Green Sensation 1 ml/l + CalMag 1 ml/l + Enzymes 2 ml/l - pH 6.48 - 1050 PPMs Day 83 (12/29/2023) I move the cabinet to a new spot in the house. The minimum temperatures are now 18 °C. 💪 Day 84 (12/30/2023) I gently squeeze the buds, and the smell it gives off is like orange peel and gasoline (fuel). 😍😍😍 Day 85 (12/31/2023) The trichomes are starting to show cloudy. I think the harvest is not far off. 😀

nonick123 Day 86 (01/01/2024) Watering only with pH adjusted H2O 6.21 Day 87 (02/01/2024) Moving towards harvest. I see some amber trichomes 😁 Day 88 (03/01/2024) Inspecting and touching the buds, the skunk and orange aromas are coming back. Delicious! 😍 Day 89 (04/01/2024) The aroma is becoming complex in this final stretch, like oranges, skunk, and with spicy undertones. Impressive 😍 Day 90 (05/01/2024) Harvest tomorrow! Today would be watering day, but since tomorrow is harvest day, I’m leaving it with 24 hours of water stress. Day 91 (06/01/2024) In the end, I’ll harvest one day later. The trichomes are practically perfect, with most cloudy and some amber. Day 92 (07/01/2024) Harvest day! 😍💥💨😁 Wet weight 150 Incredible yield for 92 days from seed, and with the water stress of the last two days. Now we start the drying process (7-10 days) where I’ll put the harvest week, and subsequent curing (+30 days), after which we’ll have the smoke report.

Grow Questions

Hi! I need to minimize the noise generated by the extractor in my indoor (60x60x160 cm) I'm currently at 61 dB, and I need to be at 25 - 30 dB I was thinking of replacing the extractor with a PC fan, something like "Noctua NF-P12 redux-1300" Any ideas?

If you don't have a budget problem, the Marshydro extractors work really well and are quite silent, plus they filter the smell spectacularly well.

Hi Buddy, I would not use computer fans they arnt very powerful I have like 8 in my pc but none in my grow room. you can buy an extraction silencer. but another option is sound prrofing that room you can use old egg cartons if you wanna make it yourself or you can purchase sound proofing tiles from amazon or ebay. its something im looking into aswell as i have 2 10 inch extractors which are very loud even when run on the lowest setting. best of luck buddy keep up the great work :)

This could work. Personally, I would check that the Noctua fits the size of your duct and/or filter. You might need 2. I recommend you look for a better brand extractor with the parameters you need. Best regards.
