Germination

All plants floated 12hours in glass of water and went to Eazy Plugs with the root(?) aimed down. OFC FastBuds was the first one ready to move into the soil. But... I made quite a mistake, deciding to germinate one more Critical 5 days later to fill the space. Should have left three plants, but nevermind! The 4th one was growing faster, stronger and had zero problems with right temperature and humidity. Also, I watered it well before putting the seedling into the plug. I did it multiple times with other three before. Effect? Weaker plants. Late one is already as big as others! Weather, and the whole conditions were totally unexpected and I wasn't prepared well enough yet. Temperatures were record high >25degrees with close to 0 at night - nightmare for a total beginner like me. It surely affected my babies. Sadly, the first three had around 50-65% humidity (max I could, it was too hot, sunny and clear) and around 22-28C. Late Critical had perfect conditions, sadly I have no photos this time to show the difference - it was huge for a seedling. After buying a (f..) lots of additional stuff to control the heat and humidity, and even more bio fertilizers and stimulants, I felt both ready, and terrified of watering. Wetness of the soil is the only thing I pretty much cannot check for 100%, so I use the other methods. I need a good device to check pH. EC, temperature and wetness of the soil. This is Biobizz Lightmix. I appreciate any advice and constructive criticism, and please, I will totally love you if only you could help my babies grow strong!

No problems. I just needed to give a little helping hand to BPP and one Critical, because they were too thin, and BPP was already downed to the ground level by massive leaves. It came back to original shape in less than 24h and now has a really hard, and strong stalk. My plans are simple. Do not overfeed. Do not let it die. Do not use any training - I want them as natural and as tall, as they gonna be naturally. I really need this experience. The only thing I did was 48h of non-stop light to strenghten the stalk. I came back to 20/4 after that. After they released second pair of leaves, everything went really fast - I'm quite shocked.

I finally stabilized the humidity and found the right amount of water. Sadly, I cannot evenly split the doses, because of many factors. I made a lot of small mistakes, corrected later, which was too much water in the soil, not enough water in the soil, and now I have some calcium/magnesium deficiency problems. I'm going to show them in the next week and if you can, please help before it is going to be too late. I don't like to wait since the first signs of planty screaming "help me bro, I'm your love, why don't you give me some of it aswell?" - Generally, I use this motto, because I'm so interested in the WHOLE process, WHY and WHEN, etc... My growing Bible is the work of Mr. José.

(last updated: 23 Oct) 16.10 + 17.10: One day I just opened the tent and there was it - the scent! 😆 Yeah, babies started to give weak, but easily recognized, fresh smell. I give them as much CO2 as only possible, lighting a candle, giving some fresh air every sometime, adding CO2 to watering. I think I stabilised the watering and dosage, also from the next watering I switch to Bio-Grow from Fish-Mix, and add a bit more Alg-A-Mic and Calmag, because I noticed a quite rapidly progressing problem, that I cannot diagnose for 100% yet - I suspect Calmag deficiency. It was spotted only on plants, that were behind the front ones. Pics uploaded. I use very soft water (totally clean with 0 minerals in it, my tap water is like almost 8 pH, with lots of chlorine so I'd kill them instantly with this crap, water filters aren't efficient enough and just too pricy option...) They really look healthy, but some leaves feel dry; I rearranged the tent a bit, lowering the light source to 39cm, moving lower plants closer to the center, and raising the humidity from 66% to ~70%. The soil in late and defficient one was 4/10 dry, so I used more calmag and fed this one. I think they slowly start the process of flowering, not yet, but days close! We will see what will happen in week 4 - it is going to be interesting. Week 3 emotionally is probably the most chill week - after I received all your support and answers, saw many growers having bigger problems I just chilled and let the defficiency show itself a bit more. They are all fast ones, so I bet 10 weeks overally if I don't make any bigger fkups! The defficiency is now very clearly seen on many leaves and every plant, it is surely magnesium or/and calcium deficiency - all I changed was the water quality. I'll use 0,5ml-0,8ml/L of Calmag from now on and added Acti-Vera. I guess I will show it somewhere in the next update. Also, I'm pretty sure this is not the tent, nor the light for 4 XL flowers, but now there is just no choice! Next time I'll definitely use SOG or ScrOG + LST and two or maximum three plants in fabric pots. 19.10 - I made a decision to remove late critical from the tent, I had no idea how painful it is to kill such a strong, beautiful baby. But others would have suffered, if I didn't do it. No room for four. So now there are two main Criticals and perfection - Banana Purple Punch. I think it slowly started to flower, but I have no idea - I need to ask about it later. Now, there is 50W/plant, so I moved LED up to around 43cm. The tips started to be too bright, also I think Calmag deficiency is taken care of. There were clear signs which stopped developing after I used more calcium and magnesium, and add a bit of tap water to the demineralised one. Rearranged the tent once again and now, finally, I can feed them without worrying about wet leaves. Watering BPP is a piece of cake. I will add some photos later! I used a mix of Fish-mix, Alg-a-mic and Acti-Vera as a foliar today and I can clearly see they are really happy... 20.10 - I think Banana Purple Punch is showing the first signs of flowering! I need to ask about it, but yeah, it seems like a flower and I'm as excited as only possible. Can't see any on Criticals, it is still very low with a lot of fat leaves. I stop using CO2 with adding Bio-Grow with HCO3 (don't want too quick absorption, because I couldn't control it I guess, co2+hco3 is a good idea, but maybe for someone experienced. I noticed a small 'claws' on the top of every flower after removing the 4th plant. I suspect a too close light source, so it is now on 47cm and we will see! I needed to buy additional, big moisture absorber, because at this stage and weather, I just can't control it with a simple, cheap one - <65% is an impossibility. Temp and humidity is stable at 66-74% and 22-25C but it won't be any day. 23.10 - Criticals are showing early flowering, Banana Purple Punch is uncovering the main flower already, and many, many other colas are clearly visible. On Criticals, there are so many leaves and these micro-flowers, I probably won't have place for three of them anyway! It was a good decision to remove one plant. Painful at the moment, but a LOT less stressful now. The plan was not to use any training and leave them naturally, but I had to use very light 'defoliation' and already mounted a supporting mesh. Criticals are huge comparing to BPP, like a tree, not a plant, 5x more leaves, which isn't too good situation - I have no idea which should I cut, which should I leave. Removed these under the shade. but there is probably nothing I can do at this time. I moved the light up again, and dimmed to 75%. I can't understand why it was fine to use 90-100% power with 40-45cm before flowering and they were growing slowly, but now it is 50cm and 75%, they are growing like 1cm a day, but the tips still has yellow claws after few days of testing multiple light settings. The Jackson v. Nemesis 150W proposed settings is a quite a bullsh't - 30-40cm from the top in instruction for this tent size, in reality rn it is 48cm and 75%, never closer than 42cm, very powerful light...) Claws are most visible on the to BPP, which is most exposed to light. They are being fed well, today I used clean demineralised water for the first time with 6,2pH to "flush" without any additives. In fact, it wasn't flushing, I just thought it is the time to "dilute" everything in the soil, I cannot do any good run-off. Who doesn't love a small tent?! 😂

I really need help with these dots on leaves - any ideas, pros, masters, exp. amateurs, anyone? I had no problems just till today on 2 out of 4 trees. (only low humidity in germination, but they lived through) Photos taken few hours ago, and now it is like 50% more of it. WTH?😓

At that stage, it's really difficult to determine. You're going to have to let it progress more for there to be clear symptoms. Some of your pix have blotchy yellow spots beginning to develop between the veins of the leaves, which could be early calcium deficiency, but there's no necrotic spots yet. Those plants are very early into their growth cycle and 3 weeks in it's not really super common to be calcium deficient unless your regiment is completely void of calcium. But if you have hard water you are getting calcium to your plants roots. Even soft water has some calcium and magnesium. Are you using RO or some other demineralized water? Dialing in Humidity and temperature is vitally important for your plants health because it dictates the nutrient uptake rate. Lower the VPD the slower the transpiration rate, which means the slower the plants uptake water and nutrients and expell it through the leaves into the atmosphere. The higher the VPD the faster. You can feed your plants conservatively but if your VPD is high they can uptake at a very fast rate. So fast that it can cause your leaves to burn. So VPD is really important to dial in and maintain. Low VPD during veg, like 0.85 to 0.95 is ideal. You'll achieve that with a temperature of around 78F and 65% humidity. VPD for flowering is roughly the same temperature, but with a lower humidity. About 1.60 to 1.70 VPD is ideal during flower. To achieve that you want to drop your humidity to between 40% and 50% with a 75F temp. I'm not familiar with your nutrient line you're using. But i looked at your diary info and everything looks good as far as temps, humidity, and light distance. They don't appear to be over watered. I would advise to leave it be for a few more days and let it progress a bit so that more signs and symptoms are present. Then post new pix with a new question. Right now it's really hard to tell whats going on. It could turn out to be nothing major. Flushing your soil when issues happen often helps, but i wouldn't advise it yet because at this point I think it's too early to say with any degree of certainty.

I'm fully focused on my babies now, because I had a hard time with Critical, but Trichoderma probably saved my ass. Or hers. After I finally listened to my grow bud and invested in good EC and pH meter, I realised the plants had a really tragic nutrient lockup (around 4 EC in Critical, 2,9EC in BPP), and my previous pH meter was wrong at least 0,5 to over 1 pH... Babies were watered with something around 5,5pH around 1/3 of their lives. After flushing BPP it instantly rocketed, Critical needed one more flush, then a Trichoderma + bacteria to eat up all this crap in soil. I think it helped a lot. but I won't say much now. I need some help with these spots on leaves, what might it be? (only on three rn only on BPP) - one person suspected germs, but it is very very very VERY unlikely, maybe something in the soil from the store, no way it was anything from the environment. I don't think so now, but IDK, too clean place even for a simple fly or a f***** mosquitos, UV burn everything in fraction of a second including my eyes😆 I suspect pH change and late trichoderma + bacteria application. I'm going to upload everything here, as detailed as possible, as promised in title, in free time, or just right after harvest. See you!

To be edited as soon as I'm going to have some more time. Vid aswell. Well I ended up with only two plants by choice and it was a good choice... But why the hell are them so high?! Everything up there, dosages, light source distance etc apply to Banana Purple Punch on left. Critical had so much stress it had entirely different nutrition tactic. If it is going to survive to give at least a 1g, I'll totally describe the process! As you can see on pics, it is heavily defoliated and is still having a harsh time removed easily over 60% of leaves not to deal with mold later - all focus on Banana Purple Punch. This strain has the most unbelivable smell I ever experienced. It is surely the best scent ever. Strawberries, fresh forest fruits, maybe a little flowers, nothing skunky, unbelivable smell. Critical doesn't have a smell at all. I suspect a root rot, but trichoderma is having its fight, we will see who will win. I had to flush it four or five times at different occasions, its eating normally now, but I'm not sure how much it can give from such small leaves. I had to remove most of big ones, cuz they would burn anyway. All curled inside the plant or flowers, or touching Bananas flowers were cut aswell. See you! Oh, the diary seems a little off, by a week, some counts 21day as 3rd, some as 4th. I'll do better job next time Just wanted to thank you, DoughHead, for all the help, info, courage and welcomeness you gave me here. This beauty is partly your work mate! Hopefully I'm going to drag it till the very end. OG Kush is waiting... (16.11)

I'm going to update critical later. Banana Purple Punch is getting closer. I'm having small problems since the third week, which in my novice eyes looked like dying. I really gained a lot of patience and hunger to do more. So hard defoliation was a huge mistake on Critical. She has practically no healthy fan leaves left, hopefully it is not going to rot, or so, because I still need to cut this beauty from Fastbuds! I guess one more week with Flawless Finish. I burned the leaves a bit this week, or it is just showing that it is time to die. I don't know. We will see! Images might be overexposed and a bit yellowish because of the light, ofc. But yeah, it lacks Nitrogen a bit. Too late to fix, I guess..

I decided to partially harvest the Banana Purple Punch of the top colas, not to overripen it. I could give it more time, but will do next time. Overally, it went flawlessly. Partial cuts are going to be seen in another week. This week went without any problems. Just patience, and a LOT of skunky smell everywhere, removing oldest leaves and giving it as much light, as possible. God bless this strain and all those geniuses from FastBuds!

The girl was partially harvested, not to overripen the buds. This week showed me that I had at least 1 to 2 more weeks of available feeding, and harvest window would still be okay with more potent flowers. I can't say anything negative, tho. I just left it for another week, and the rest was ready with almost no popcorns, and zero fluffs! Banana was a wonder for a novice. Critical, sadly, was massacred - chlorosis, etc, etc.., and I was a bit ashamed to show it here at all. But the buds are OP now... I'll show it in the next update. It wasn't ready to get all the light for itself, so I burned it a little. We all learn, right? For Critical, I'm using all the stuff from Banana Purple Punch, but with addition of Enzymes and Bio-Heaven.

I could give her more time, to be more powerful. It is surely over 20% THC, perfect day and night medicine. Gets away all the pain, I'm chilled, focused, no signs of depression. Quite heavy munchies. There is everything, but somehow it isn't my all-time favorite. 8 /10 for this strain, probably 9/10 after proper curing! Very, very easy to grow and to give 100% of it. I made a lot of mistakes, I had no EC and pH meter for first few weeks, I ruined Critical, but Banana Purple Punch lived through everything. The root system was ultra-healthy and clean. Even though I germinated it in difficult conditions, it was the strongest one from the beginning through the end. Top genetics. 😻 Totally my favorite breeder. Almost 80g of dry, top-quality stuff.

Banana Purple Punch, as I said, was a perfect strain to begin with for me. Perfectly resistant to lal mistakes, everything in air, resistant even to my cat hidden in the tent (somehow). Show me another strain resistant to cats and so many my mistakes and harsh conditions in the beginning. Critical is incoming, soon. We'll see how it will go. I used some of a lil' bit BPP so it was around 83g dry, let it be 79,2g like weighted. Still twice I thought I'd get. No fluffs, no popcorns. Just M sized, fantastic buds. Great experience for a newbie - seeing all these purps and pinks coming to life, also trichomes are easily seen, so you don't need a 200x microscope to get it right. We'll see the Critical! Peace! Thank you everyone who gave me courage and strength when I needed it, especially you, Dough!

Outdoors, it shows its full potential. My result is just OK. Low THC, so high dosage needed, and even tho, it is not too fancy. Medically not really useful. Small euphoria and high mind calmness and relaxation. Sedation and euphoria was really heavy when I had a chance to smoke it from outdoor, with full potential. I'm afraid, that as I tried so much newer, better strains, this one doesn't look so amazing as years ago. Just fine. Local breeder, I thought it was Dinafem at first, but I was wrong.

It was cut right inbetween 2023 and 2024 on the 31 dec/1 jan It survived everything - falling fan, crushing one stem, survived germs infestation, a lot of useless flushing etc...survived just everything, but it is not a strain for indoor. It is normally a heavy hitter, mine is a 50/50, trichomes weren't amber at 2-3%, 30% was still transparent. I couldn't do anything. Nevermind! I forgot to make a group pic after packing them into the jars 😋 It surely would be GREAT for joint lovers. Not for those liking only the glue-like, sticky, new-gen buds. This aren't as dense and hard, as Banana Purple Punch had. Also, there is almost no smell at all! When it was, it was awful, cheesy, skunky, strange smell - came away in a second week of curing. Category 1 out of 4 of smell intensitivity, definitely. No carbon filter needed in case of this strain. On wage, I wasn't counting anthing that went for cookies/cake - around 15-20g of fluffy stuff, or very small buddies, or not developed buds, or sugar leaves - you know. So theoretically, there was more, but as I planned to leave it for a cake before, I mixed it with BananaPP stuff and can't weight it, so I just don't count it in. Also, ex. both 100,1g and 100,9g I count as a 100g. Just to simplify. Anyway.. it gave me so much weight, I just can't imagine how superb it might be when I'd keep it in a good shape the whole time - I'm still just a noob, aye? 😁 There was an infestation at the very end and I had to cut it a week sooner. Wanted to keep her longer, but I totally misunderstood the feeding and stopped feeding her week or even two BEFORE I should start flushing. So she was in pain a lot of time. Another thing to experience bag. As as for the first time, reaching over a kilo in two flowers is somehow unbelivable for me... But it is a fact... God bless this plant and every one of you, 420cultilovers. Drop a comment or a like if you liked something, or leave some advice or constructive criticism down there - I very much appreciate every single advice from you, more experienced cultivators. We are running OG Kush, Gorilla Zkittlez and LSD-25 now! With a twist - a bit upgraded equipment. Same light, cuz can't imagine better, different everything else. I'n totally going for another light from Grow or Die, best stuff, look on the graphs! Now everything should be so much easier... Honestly I expected 50g from both plants, meaning 25g from one, 25g from second. I'd be happy with this result, but what happened is a totally overwhelming feeling of proud and happiness, this is fully the thing I love to do, lmao. Silly! But so fulfilling. ...I have to make some oils 😅

The yellowing can be either just late stage of its life which some do. High or low nutes, or high or low PH causing it not to be able to eat nutes. All are easily read in a runoff sample. It's nearing the end anyways and the buds look fire. Just keep pushing and take your time in a controlled slow dry and cure! Hope I've helped in some way, little or big! Much love ❤️

@@@@@DoughHead, you simply rock as a true Mentor. Best wishes! I bought 1seed in promo today for like 5 bucks and received a free seed.. Banana Purple Punch! lmao😂 what a perfect opportunity to fix it on another run with all your tips, definitely NOT a coincidence! Yeah, she is yellow because of probable end of lifecycle, flushed today with enzymes, EC was around 4,5 so quite OK after over a month without flushing I guess. I don't wan't to overkill her at this stage I'm happy with the results, I'll fix Nitrogen problems on the next run :) Also my phone catches them inside the tent like ultra yellowish-warm-filtery like, I try to make pics with lamp now, more convenient. Critical totally raised from the dead and is currently forming fat buds - it won't ever be so smooth and chilly without your attention bruh... To be edited! 😇
