Woohoo, an exciting chance to try Zamnesias Biscotti alone was worth the entry but to get to try some of Plagrons finest flowering nutes too feels like a double whammy. Having used Plagron in the past and rated it very highly and with my recent bounties from the Zamnesia seed lines , I am confident of an interesting and very productive grow. My last harvest feels lime an eternity ago now as I love the whole process of growing Mary Jane. I have tried so many different strains , nutes , training methods mediums ect during my time and particulary within grow dairies , and now look forward to a simple and basic grow that will hopefully highlight the capabilities of the Plagron line up to produce monster buds. The Biscotti decision was a no-brainer for me as I think it is so like wedding cake and GG#4 which I love to smoke when around. I am hoping for a short 3 week growing period before deciding on the switch to flowering and hope you will join me and comment with anything helpful, curiosity, banter ect... I love growing and sharing experience and tips so please dont be shy . Roll on those Baseball bat Cola's. 😎 Thank you to Plagron and Patricia at Zamnesia Seeds for the goodies to join this fun challenge. Be Blessed

Hi Growmies A nice steady first week vegging for these Biscotti babies. We have second sets of leaves forming now and hopefully the root system is beginning to find the pots edges now so I can re pot to their final pots. I am wrestling with which way to go with the growth and how best to use these beauties within the time frame and with the reasons for the comp. Big fat buds and a healthy yield are always the hoped end result but how many colas and what size my limited space and veg time can throw up is the dilemma. a canopy full of medium sized buds can outweigh an all natural grow due to using led and the limitations of their penetration. I do prefer to use led now so that limit has been the driving force to max my yields with various L.s.t methods and products over the decades. Seeing the flowering additives that Plagron have developed and a new kid on the block to try with the "power buds " is exciting and I am looking forward to seeing if losing the "stretch period" by stimulating the plants hormones is beneficial compared to using it to finalise the canopy shape. Seeing the arrival of the "fast flowering " strains and their removal of the growth spurt to focus quicker to flower is the same goal without altering the plants genetics. This should be an interesting competition. Thank you to Plagron and Zamnesia for putting this together to involve us in the developments. Catch you next week. Be safe. blessed be.

Hi all. A nice steady bit of growth this week and now showing theirn 3rd nodes forming. All looking nice and healthy but needed up potting into the final pots. The roots are looking nice and fresh with some very hairy lateral roots starting to form up. I am still undecided on which route to take with the lst/topping ect but with no stretch period to use, due to the Plagron products changing the plants hormonal balance to focus purely on flower production and mass flowering , i need to ensure they are going to be a decent size before the flip. A possible topping , f.i.m.ming and main stem bending could be a nice comparison test for the products eventual bud sizes too. With only a mild feeding so far , they are not showing any stress signs or deficiency. fingers crossed it stays this way.. Until next time. Be blessed 🙌

Hi all. This week has been a nice week for rooting and for creating nice ,fat , light catching ,powerhouse fan leaves it seems. They have really fattened out nicely and remained fairly squat (low and stout) to the soil and seeing their willingness to not be too stretchy , I think I will keep as much on them as possible with the possible removal of the 2 lowest nodes. I dont expect a major boost in stretch this run as we ate using products that allow the plant to go straight into bud production and not lengthening their limbs for light searching. This should hopefully mean some very fat coalas at harvest and lots of budsites along the shorter limbs hopefully. Another week in veg and I will be flipping them to flower and I will get to see for myself. I hope you will join me and comment with any helpful or observations along the way. Untill next time. Be well

Hi Growmies. Seems i can't upload videos for some reason now ???? Here we are at day 28 of the veg period and the ladies are progressing really well. They have remained fairly squat and are very solid stemmed with a thick main to hold some heavy fruit hopefully. I am starting g a weeks training with them before I flip to flower and expect that they will be in a great crown shape to begin their transition to big buds. I have mashed the stems.of # 2 and # 3 to allow me to keep their main merristem lateral enough to allow the lower nodes to reach the same height. This will hopefully give me a nice even canopy from the crown shape formed. It will also force the plant to focus energy on another potential main to push . The confusion can have a great effect on the finished canopy with it full of even sized big buds. Fingers crossed that this is the end result here. lol. I have used stakes to open up the main stem and allow as many of the nodes to be in the best position for growing in light. The stem squishing will not bother them either , it will slow it down a little and create a knuckle at the damage which can be a great store and even distribution point of nutrients high up. Let's see what a week does now. be lucky.

Hi Growmies I hope we have all had good growth and healthy green ladies the last week. These Biscotti Ladies are responding really well to the L.s.t training the last week. I have managed to get most of the growing tips into a good light position for the upcoming flowering cycle and they are really close to the same canopy height. Keeping them lateral with the pegs but with a slight upturn of roughly 10° , still makes each tip think it is the main stem and the plant will apply an equal focus of stored resources . I would normally be relying on the pre-flowering stretch period to spread the limbs further apart for spacing and ensuring they get as much light as they can but as we are using the new Plagron flowering booster "Power Buds" and the bloom base nutrient from the next feed , I don't think that the elongation and doubling in size ( a general rate) will be the focus of the switch to 12-12 lighting. Normally the plant takes roughly 10 days to slow down or halt their boosted stretch which happens within the plants internal chemical processing cells that kick-start this spurt , due to adding the additional nutes/stimulant , this time period should be replaced with building their flowering sites and setting up for holding weight. I expect that we will see flowers well within the usual 10 days stretch period which we would not normally see until about week 3 of flowering. An interesting time ahead. Sadly the app won't allow video uploads now for some reason ( what next hrowdiaries admin ?) Be well.

Hi Growmies. The Biscotti Teens have been adding a little size but definitely nothing like the stretch period I have been accustomed to. Rhey are looking nice and healthy with a very pliable stem still too. They have been easy to keep trained in their shapes with quite a good amount of mains forming in their own light and space. I have been pulling the odd leaf off here and there to ensure light is getting to the inner growth but nothing like a defoliation of any kind. I do expect that this will become a regular pattern during this period but I do want to keep as muchnof that foliage as is practical. I do hate killing off those huge fan leaf powerhouses when they have been doing such a great job and no doubt have some contribution to make during the final phase with all that chlorophyll still unused. The #3 does seem to be the leader for overall size but #1 is really showing some promising branching out too. No signs of their sex yet ( feminised seeds) but still to show the two white hairs of female characteristics. Usually by day 10 these hairs are showing on all viable bracts and the star shapes of flowering start to appear in the canopy. The Plagron definitely reduces the stretch which has left me with some very stout girls that could really hold some good fruit weight. I am hoping the real benefit of losing the stretch period is bore out with a final yield as halving the plants size at harvest seems counter productive on paper...... Time will tell. Be lucky and have great growth and sweet flowers.

#A day late in posting Howdy Growmies Another flowering week under the belt and closer to the final harvest we get. This week has been a very slow creep in size to what looks like their final foundation for the flowering to begin. In the pics I have arrowed some of the gender hairs that form at the bract to highlight they are now showing their sex so the actual flowers should be anytime now. It has been very noticeable that the stretch period has been genetically slowed to a crawl and the plants have remained very squat and within the pots diameter. Normally they would have doubled in size and had limbs needing a lot more training into a good position , so not having the longer stems and branches does help contain the plant if space is a big issue without having to trim limbs off and bend, twist and adapt their patterns to fit. The individual stems for each of the colas are a nice thickness too so should really help carry the production of heavy buds that I hope are also a benefit of the powerbuds/royal sugar/algae bloom/sensation combo. Now we are getting to the best part of the cycle( excluding harvest of course .lol) This grow is the smallest plant count I have done so I am interested to see how well they do with the light all to themselves instead of the 6 I usually squeeze under this light Fingers crossed for megabuds. Until the next posting ( or I get to see yours) , be healthy , lucky and loved.

Hi Growmies . Day 56 and 21 in flowering today. I am.still waiting on the hairy Mary to begin but the stems and tops are definitely preparing themselves with a lot of bud sites being evident throughout the canopy and even below decks. Each limb is taking the form of a single plant it seems. ( Even if only dwarf sized !) The potential for "fatties" is good by the looks of them. #1 is by far the biggest of the girls and has really been productive with her bud sites. I am using a form of defoliation but not in any uniform capacity. she is so full of sites that I have been removing inside Fan leaves that block so many of the inner sites from air and light. Her main has been kept lower than the upcoming 2nd , 3rd and 4th nodes which has allowed them to form more volume of lower growth. #2 Is the smallest of the girls and looks nice and healthy but is definitely not as vigorous as her sisters. plenty of sites along her stems and a nice ball shape to her frame too. #3 With her multi tops from the attempted f.i.m ( crazy that an accidental topping created a new training method we can use and that we can even get that "mistake" wrong 😀 ), she is a really nice size to work with and the extra couple of tops have meant a nicely filled out middle. Like her sisters , I have been trying to keep the leaf blocking to a minimum by removing some interior ones and tucking others away. I did notice a few weeks back that the bigger Fan leaves had slight clawing on them but not too bad to cause real concerns . I did hot them with the max dosage of the alga bloom from light switching which I see was a little too "full bodied" for their needs. I would advise at the beginning of the transition to flower at the flip , that a lower dose of 1ml per litre would serve better. ( following the bottles dosage could be a little toxic for younger flowering plants.) I don't think it has geld them back too much or done any damage but the least stress for their root zone to deal with the better. All in all a good week for stem girth and flower setting sites and now I am like an Eagle searching the canopy for prey to find those white flowering hairs. lol. One more week and I get to add the King of the Plagron range to the fun with the Green Sensation. Have a great week Growmies and keep it green and mean.

Hi Growmies. I hope you will all have a blessed Christmas with family and friends around you sharing love and good food. What a great week this has been. It seems they started the cycle so slowly at the beginning of the week and within a few days it had exploded with flowers a across all the plants. From base to tip on each branch of all the ladies they have sprung up with a bang. I was concerned as to how much longer they could go without flowering too. #1 Is leading the pack for production in general, closely followed by #3 but for Flower size and growth, then it has to be #2. She is a lot smaller than her sisters in girth and limbs but is not lacking in the cola dept at all. The plagron bloom products and planned effects are very evident now and i am looking forward to seeing how it helps with yield and quality now. As i have now reached 4 weeks flowering, it is time to add the product I have been most excited about trying , Green Sensation. I have known about thisnpriduct a long time but never had the opportunity to add it to my arsenal. It looks and smells great to me so I expect the girls will savour its goodness. Thanks for stopping by. Be lucky amd until next time , stay well.

Hi Growmies Happy new year 2024 and a prosperous green one for all. Here we are at week 5 of flowering and they are really setting themselves up nicely for some nice chunky buds. There is a very sweet smell coming from them now , nice and candy sweet. Their spread is quite wide and there are a lot of flowering sites to develop too. #1 is still out there in front as most productive and with the larger buds so far #2 is half her size but her buds are starting to show they will cover the whole stems. #3 has smaller flowers at tje moment but I expect that to even out over the coming weeks. I am still using the dehumidifier to keep that moisture down as the cold dark period gets quite damp amd I think these buds will be nice and chubby so a perfect place to hide mould if not managed properly. There is plenty of air movement beneath the canopy so this should also help keep them dryer. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and that you are recovering well. lol. Until next week. Be well. Sorry no pics due to rubbish app update. Every update destroys the platform for weeks as they try to address all the issues they open up every "update" .

Hi Growmies Another week of flowering behind us and 3 weeks to the finish post and fruity highs They have all been productive in the flowering this week with plenty of nice fluffy pistils springing up daily now. They are also producing a very sweet smell when I open the tent too. A nice fruity terp indeed. They have been performing excellent from seed and with no concerns at all for their genetics, it is all about what the new additions to my feeding schedule can do. So far the results do seem to support the flower production claim with lots of fresh sites throughout the canopy, thankfully they have also not created wide spacing between the flower sets either so could hopefully become long chunky colas. Using the viparspectra and it's great specs for just the 3 plants has also been a new thing for me to try instead of the crammed in 6 plants. No issues to report around bugs or deficiency still and with the dehumidifier on the case , hopefully no mould spores will show up either. Until next time , be lucky and keep it green

Hi Growmies I hope your week had been as productive and fun as mine and that your flowering is progressing. It has been a very easy week to manage their needs. Nicely set and with lots of light per plant , we have a lot of clusters of pistils throughout their whole structure. Keeping the humidity lower now is helping to reduce the risk of bud rot with so much vegetation and fresh pistils to feed it. It will also help raise the oils needd within the girls to keep them supple amd attractive to those buzzy friends they hope to attract. The smell of sweet pineapple is so strong in the room now and their stickiness from resin is really starting to show itself now. It is evident that the plagron products have had a substantial effector the progress now with so.mamy sets of flowers lower in the canopy too. Seeing other grows of the Biscotti not using the products , there is a difference in node lengths between flowers without doubt. The flowering plants are nice and stocky compared to most of my previous grows sonit has been easier to keep them well within the lights sweet spot With just 2 weeks left that will hopefully be the adding weight and second flowering sets kicking into play too , a good yield could be on the cards. I do seem to have 2 phenotypes off the Biscotti running so it will be interesting to see how they differ at the end for yield etc.. I have added a small greenhouse heater to bring the temp up a little and help with the humidity control too as we are experiencing a very cold snap again in good old Blighty. All in all a great week with a more to follow hopefully. 😀 Be lucky and stay safe among the chaos unfolding.......

Hi Growmies Here we are on the last week possibly for these beautiful smelling Biscotti Girls. It has been a week of slowly adding weight to the mains for the most part but the #1 girl looks very close to finished already. She has a lot of browned pistils and her buds are rock solid too. Her lowers do still look fairly fresh but I will have to get her on the water inly to give her a flush in case. It is not uncommen to get a second pistil flush that boosts them again but they do look fairly close. Will be using the loupe to check the trichromes in the next day or so too. The other two ladies are happy to continue on amd will get their final full feed tomorrow too. They ate getting nice and sticky to touch now amd are smelling so pineapple sweet too but up real close you can definitely get the diesel whiff too. While there are a lot of bud sites over the grow , I am not overly impressed by any of tje mains sonfar and hope that the last push will get them adding some girth and weight with oil filled sacs to get that potency cooking. So close to the finish line now. Thanks for sticking with me on the journey. I hope your grows are steller and producing well. Until next time. Be well.

Hi Growmies Here we are at the expected finish time and the most mature of these ladies ( #1) is still only starting to cloud up her trichromes. Lots of clear ones still waiting to start ripening though and next to no Amber trichs yet. Looking at the burnt orange pistils and her overall appearance , without checking her trichromes, I would have harvested her too early. Well worth the investment to hit their sweet spots. The other two ladies are filling put nicely too with plenty of mains within the canopy. Their lowers could have done with more light from a good defol but I wanted to are how much difference it would make. The #1 has been on just water the past few days but no signs of her cannibalising herself yet. The other two are finishing up their second tomladt feed and I plan 1 more before I flush them for their ripening. I think that the 3 weeks for flowers to appear after the flip may have added the extra time to their finish. Until next time , be well.

Hi Growmies So here we have it , the end is nigh !. After and interesting 99 Days from seed and 70 days in their flowering phase of an expected 63. It is not unusual to pass the stated times and even early harvest on occasions so I am not hung up about the timing and is another reason that I use the trichromes as a guide to the right time to pull them. The #1 has definitely reached her harvest window now with some Amber tricks now being visible on checking. She looks so sweet now and I did begin to trim her up a little before I started the update pics. I do plan on using the bowl trimmer for speed this run and will video how it goes for the next update. I hate trim-jail so will use the spinner to help. Some of the buds look a bit small low down and I expect drying will shrink them to a Nug but all adds to final yield. I am not too stoked about the overall bud sizes and suspect the products did have an effect on that outcome for me but tje quality and number are its saving grace . The #2 Lady is looking chunkier than her sister although not as big in footprint. Her trichromes are beginning to cloud now so I expect at least another week before her harvest is due #3 is the most impressive for looks and appeal for sure. , she is covered in medium sized colas amd has some of the purpled leaves that the strain is known for. She is also as frosty as hell to highlight her even more. Like #2 she needs the ripening time now so I expect next update to be the final before harvest results. It has been a simple grow with no real dramas to contend with. Thanks for riding along with me. Be well.

I didn't see the need to use anything to minimise the iverall size of my plants but went with the nutes to see what the results would be. We will get a better idea once dried and cured with a yield per plant to go with too. I am not expecting g a huge yield based on their overall medium size bit rhe buds look so sweet amd smell amazing of a pineapple type sweet and a fuel type undertone. I think a cure will really bring out the best in these. Roll on the final report. Thank you Plagron and Zamnesia for the opportunity to try these out.
