Germination
This strain has been on my wishlist for almost a year now. I read a strain review about HighCloudz last year and bought the seeds, but due to circumstances I never got around to grow it. The HighCloudz has genetics from Watermelon Zkittlez and Cloud Walker. It's a sativa dominant strain that gives an uplifting high, and has a sweet/sour taste originating from the Watermelon Zkittlez genetics. Beside the fact that the plant looks beautiful, the above average resin production makes it a perfect candidate for extracts. Checkout the full description and pictures at https://shop.greenhouseseeds.nl/feminised-cannabis-seeds/highcloudz/ As the seeds are almost a year old I do hope at least one of them will germinate. I did store them in the fridge so I hope that preserved them well. This will be a one strain diary (I know I said that last time and ended up with three plants 😅). But this time I really want to do some proper LST of ScrOG to create a nice and even canopy and get the most out of a single plant. I hope you will enjoy reading this diary as much as I do writing it ✌️

All three seeds have sprouted! Well it's fair to say that Greehouse Seeds has some strong genetics as these little seeds survived over a year in the fridge 💪 For the germination I started out with a paper towel, but after a day I decided to put them in a RootIt seedplug which I soaked in Bactrex. The beneficial bacteria really help germination in my experience. After this the seeds popped within a day. Now is the daunting task of selecting the one plant to continue the grow. I'm not just sure on which one to pick. The first one that popped is probaby the strongest, but I do want to check on how the other 2 look once their first leafs have fully developed. Stay tuned to see which one of the seedlings passes the test 🌱🧐 🌿🌿🌿 Mid-week update Ok so I decided to go with the first seed that popped. The other 2 seedlings also look healthy but not better than the first seedling. I do keep them in a small cup as a backup in case something goes wrong with the first seedling. The current challenge is to keep the humidity at the proper levels. In wintertime the humidity in the house is very low, and the humidifiers are working fulltime to keep it around 65%

Hey growmies, it's week 2 of the HighCloudz grow and the seedling is doing well! At the end of the first week the leafs became a bit heavy and I had to provide a little support around the stem. This is probably due to the fact that the seed was at the top of the seedplug so the stem wasn't that strong just yet. Now, with the support of some soil the seedling is upright and enjoying the Sanlight 🌞 Apart from keeping a close eye on the little plant there isn't much else to do in terms of training and feeding. More pics and updates will follow later this week. 🌿🌿🌿 Mid-week update 🌿🌿🌿 After only 1.5 weeks from germination I noticed that this strain grows very fast. The first pairs of fan leafs are much bigger compared to any strains I've grown so far. Since I have limited vertical space in the GTools I have to be careful not to make her grow too tall. Looking at other diaries this lady can stretch quite a bit in the first and second week of blooming. The plan is to start topping and lst at week 3 (after third node appears), let her recover for a few days and then start with the ScrOG.

Hi growmies, the HighCloudz is coming along nicely. The fanleafs are much bigger compared to other strains I’ve grown so far. This week I’m planning to top above the fourth node and start some lst. I’m very happy with the nice short internodes, let’s see if we can keep it short and bushy for as long as possible. Even though it will stretch eventually due to its sativa genetics. 🌿🌿🌿 Mid-week update Since I started using Plagron's Sugar Royal a few days ago the plant growth has really accelerated! Also the fanleafs are raised upward to catch the rays of the Sanlight, I always assume this is a good thing, as being the opposite of leafs drooping ;) I'm also planning to set the dimmer to 100% this week, as the plant looks ready to take on the full 135w. As I learned from last grow, I need to be careful not to have the lamp too close to the plant to prevent lightburn and stress. For now I have enough vertical space left to pull it off 🤞 I also noticed a few black flies on the soil. To prevent this from getting out of control I placed a small trap to snare those little critters. If the black flies persist I'll switch to nematodes to kill the larvae. Stay tuned for more updates and pics later this week!

Hey growmies, it's the fourth week of vegetation for the HighCloudz and boy is it growing 👌 The fanleafs are really big, bigger than my hand! The plant is doing well on the Plagron feeding and looks very healthy. As the plant grows fast already I'm thinking about switching to 12/12 before the end of the week. I don't have that much vertical space in my growbox and this lady will probably stretch due to it's Sativa genetics. To prepare the branches for the ScrOG I started to bend them outwards. My goal is to get a nice and even canopy once she starts blooming. Stay tuned for more pics and updates later this week 😊 🌿🌿🌿 Mid-week update Even though the big fanleafs were cool, they blocked the light to the lower branches. I removed the biggest fanleafs and did some more LST for the upper branches, bending them outwards and to the side so they will hopefully have a good spot in the ScrOG net. The pant looks a bit run down after the defoliation and Cannabis bondage, but hey, she still has many weeks to go and I'm confident she will be a beauty once again :)

Hey my Cannabis loving friends, this is the start of the 5th week of the HighCloudz grow. I was in doubt wether to switch to 12/12 now at the start of the week, but in the end I decided to wait for a few days. I managed to train the higher branches so they are nice and horizontal, growing outwards. The lower branches are also growing outward and their newly grown side branches are now finding their way upwards. The plan is to give those smaller branches that are now growing in the center of the plant some time to grow stronger before I switch to 12/12. I will attach the ScrOG net later this week so I can guide the branches and fill the net. The 2 smaller plants are still alive! I couldn't bare to throw them in the trash and now they are just growing in their small cups. I feed them regularly and they seem to do just fine. Let's see if they make it to the blooming stage. 🌿🌿🌿 Mid-week update Because the HighCloudz is growing so well I decided to switch the light schedule to 12/12 to start the blooming stage. It's always a guess on how much the plant will stretch, also because I topped her, but this should hopefully prevent the plant from stretching too much. Can't wait to see the flowers on this lady

It's been 4 days since I switched the light schedule to 12/12 and you can clearly see her stretching quite a bit. The canopy is nice and even so the branches can be guided through the ScrOG net equally. No changes needed in nutrition just yet. The plant looks super healthy and grows very well. I hope most of the smaller side branches will grow up to the light in the coming week so we can have a nice sea of buds ✌️ Yesterday my mate @CannaTommy gave me a clone of the Biscotti Sour Dubb strain (Biscotti x Sour Dubble) x Ztini ((Zkittlez x (Lemon Tree x KG Sour D BX). It's a limited edition strain and I plan to let it grow along with the HighCloudz and try to reveg it after I harvest the HighCloudz. I have limited space but it would be cool to preserve this plant and use it for the next grow. That's all for now, stay tuned for more pictures and updates as the week progresses ☘️ 🌿🌿🌿 Mid-week update The SrOG is coming along nicely. All of the bigger side branches have their own spot in the net. There were some of the newer side branches that stretched a bit faster but I tucked them in the net. Now all branches have the same height. There are no signs of blooming just yet, but I expect to see the fist buds somewhere next week if all goes well. The little cloudz and the Biscotti Sour Dubb are doing well, even though they do not receive all the light of the bigger plant. I give them 2 small waterings each day and it seems to work just fine.

HighCloudz is showing her first buds 👌 She's still stretching but I have enough vertical space left in the Gtools to keep the Sanlight at a safe distance. I do want to prevent lightburn/stress this round. All in all it looks like my plan to give the smaller and lower branches time to reach the ScrOG net is working. Some of the newer branches are a bit thin, but they have more than enough time to strengthen up before the bigger buds start to grow. The smaller HighCloudz in the cups are doing remarkably well. Even with this limited space they look healthy and show no signs of deficiencies. 🌿🌿🌿 Mid-week update After checking on my HighCloudz ladies this morning I thought I saw a few leafs with bite marks. It's nothing too serious just yet but I ordered some natural predators (Stratiolaelaps scimitus) to keep the bugs in check. The plants are stretching but not so much as last week. If all goes well there will be enough space left in the GTools to prevent lightburn. On a totally unrelated but positive note I'm happy to say I finally convinced my 80 year old mom to try Cannabis for the first time. She really enjoyed it and it helped with her back pain. It's just great to be able to share my home grown weed with my old folks. I've just crossed another item off my bucket list 😎

Looks like I switched to 12/12 just in time. Even though I trained and topped her, she still stretched more than expected. The canopy is nice and equal and there is plenty of room for of the lower branches to grow above the ScrOG net and produce some flowers. As I don't have much space left to raise the light I hope the stretching will stop in the coming days. After the predatory mite were released in the GTools I haven't found anymore bitemarks in the leafs and additionally the black flies also disappeared. The plant looks really healthy overall and she enjoys the Plagron I feed her. The smaller HighCloudz in the cups are still going strong. The buds seem to grow faster than on the bigger plant and it's amazing to see how the plant can grow in such a small cup. As for the Biscotti Sour Dubb, she shows little signs of blooming but still healthy and strong. Some of the leafs are showing some brown spots. My first idea about this was nutrient lockout but please leave a comment if you think it's something else. I added some CalMag to the feeding just in case. Let's see how the plant responds to it. 🌿🌿🌿 Mid-week update The brown spots turned out to be nutrient burn. I made a mistake as I kept giving Alga Grow even though I already started giving Alga Bloom, resulting in way too much nitrogen. At the moment I'm flushing out the excess nutrients and just giving CalMag and Power Buds. The fresh leafs show no signs of nutrient burn and I hope flushing for a couple of days will fix the issue. It's a shame and we'll have to see how much of a setback this will be for the plants development. We still have 7 weeks to go before harvest so the plant should have some time to recover form my mistake. Shoutout to @Belgiums_basement_budz for the excellent answer to my grow question

The leafs on my plant are showing brown spots. Could be nutrient burn or nutrient lockout? Not sure at this point. It started a week after blooming.

Hey, Your lady looks a bit high on n,she is starting to show the first signs of a nitrogen claw, and this is probably causing a p or k block,i see in your diary you use alga veg and bloom, now their strech is coming to an end i would quit feeding alga veg because they don’t much n in full veg and you clearly got enough in your soil I noticed in your diary you don’t use any ph regulator?this can also cause problems in different stages of your grow because n is available in wide range of ph (soil I believe ph4.5-7)so our veg cycle goes really strong but.on the other hand p and k have smaller range range (they are really good available for our ladies above 6.7 on soil) so if your soil is a bit on the low side on ph,they could struggle a bit to absorb p and k mow they are in full flower and need those 2 a lot more than before But you can find this out really quick, just measure your runoff ph,this is a good indicator of what is going on in your soil,it’s not pin point correct but I helps determine if it’s to low or hig Only if you are using soil with some lime in it,you can grow withouts ph regulators, because lime is used to pre buffer ph in your soil so it will always regulates its ph on its own so if you’re using ph regulators on this kind of soil you eventually end up in a ph battle with your soil I would just cut back all nutrients for 1-2 feedings and then continue with only the alga bloom,no mere veg because there is enough n your soil already furthermore I wouldn’t do much else, the damage done to the leaves wil probably stay Hopefully this is a bit helpful Happy growing 🌱✌️

Another week of blooming for the HighCloudz and the buds are growing well. The top leafs are not looking too good because of the excess nitrogen, but the new leafs are healthy again. I'm glad it didn't slow down the flowering and I'm extra careful from now on to not overfeed her. The smell on this plant is amazing! It's sour/lemon and very spicy, almost like fresh ground pepper. I never grown a plant with this terpene profile before and I'm already looking forward to the smoke report :) The smaller plants have the same aroma, with a hint of candy. Not much more to say for now, my plan is to give her the peace and quiet to grow some beautiful flowers ☘️✌️ Stay tuned for more updates and pics later this week!

Hi Growmies, thanks for stopping by this week for another HighCloudz update ✌️ The plant has been busy growing buds and now they are not only growing in number but in size as well! The top buds are growing bigger by the day, and underneath the canopy the smaller side branches are also forming many buds. The smell is amazing. It's a bit less pepper and more sweet tones at the moment, but boy I'm excited about this terpene profile 👌 Some of the top leafs are looking tarnished because of the nitrogen burn, but luckily there are still many healthy leafs left to prevent any stagnation in growth. Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more updates and pics as the week progresses ☘️

Hi growmies, thanks for visiting my diary! This week I'm happy to share my plants are in full bloom. Up until now the buds were growing slowly (or not as fast as I wanted 😜), but now they are really fattening up! The smell is strong and the aroma sticks around for hours after opening the door of the growbox. It's not that visible yet on the photos, but the trichromes are growing abundantly on the fan leafs as well. I saw a few HighCloudz diaries where the leafs were completely covered in white sparkles and I'm hoping this lady will turn out just as frosty. As temperatures begin to rise, so does the humidity. I keep the airco running permanently in the room, not so much for climate control but it keeps the air nice and dry. I will share more pics and updates as the week progresses ✌️☘️ Stay tuned and stay high

Hey my Cannabis loving friends! The HighCloudz is doing well, the buds are still growing bigger by the day and the resin production is abundant. This looks like a good strain for extractions and I'm planning to try and make some Piattella out of it. It's basically cold-cured bubble hash and it looks amazing. Check out Jolly Roger's video about it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KG5KTaCMKOM . But let's not get ahead of myself here, we still have some weeks to go before harvest 😉 . The smell of the plant is very strong, sweet and peppery and I need to be careful about leaving the door open for too long. In this stage I almost need to tie my hands behind my back and just let her bloom in peace. There were a lot of black flies in the GTools all of a sudden. They can't do too much harm to the plant in this stage but I don't want these critters ending up in the buds. I placed a few fly traps to make sure the infestation doesn't get out of control. That's all for now! I post new pictures and updates as the week progresses so please check back to see the latest updates and keep on growing ✌️☘️😊 🌿🌿🌿 Mid-week update Still a lot of black flies around my plants. If I can't get them under control with the fly traps I plan to use predatory mite to get rid of them. In the canopy however the buds are getting nice and frosty! The lower buds are also starting to grow bigger every day.

The top buds are still fattening up but slower than last week. In the lower branches there are also many smaller buds that have started growing. I guess the plant is fattening up those as well. The flowering time of this strain is between 9 and 10 weeks, so it still has at least 2 weeks to fully mature. The top buds are looking nice and frosty, and the smell is outstanding! More pics will be added after wednesday. I lost my Sanlight dimmer key and waiting for a new one to arrive. And taking pictures with the growlight at 100% is no bueno 😐 🌿🌿🌿 Mid-week update Allright so my dimmer is replaced and I can take more pictures of this frosty lady ✌️ The trichrome production on this plant is more than I have ever seen sofar. My microscope broke down and I'm waiting on a new one to arrive so I can inspect the trichromes more closely. We're entering the ninth week of blooming so the plant should be ready within 2 weeks.

Hi Growmies, we reached week 9 of blooming and the HighCloudz is almost ready for harvest ✌️I plan to let her bloom for another 7 days at least, and after this I let the trichromes tell me if it's harvest time. My microscope is broken and I'm waiting for a new one to arrive. So hopefully I have the chance to do a closer inspection in a few days. Apart from my mistake in nutrition in week 6 and 7 I'm very happy with this round. The buds look delicious and covered with resin. Can't wait to get a taste 😍 🌿🌿🌿 Mid-week update Allright! I received my new microscope in the mail and checked out the trichromes. Turns out a lot of them are still transparant. Just goes to show that it's dangerous to rely on the brown pistils to determine if the plant is ready for harvest. And the funny thing is that she's forming new calyxes again. We will have to see if she's ready for harvest by the end of this week. And if not I just give her another week to reach her full potency 👊

The HighCloudz is in her last few days now. On the last inspection the trichromes were almost 100% cloudy and my plan is to harvest her in 2 days. This has been a great grow and I'm glad she recovered from my feeding mistake. Sure the leafs could have looked better but the flowers are really awesome. I'm not planning on doing anything special the next couple of days. No stressing or light deprivation, just let her enjoy the last days in the GTools ✌️☘️😊

After careful inspection of the trichromes the plant was ready for harvest. The buds were not as massive as my previous grow, but damn they were compact and heavy. Especialy the top buds were massive, rock-hard and resinous. Real premium stuff and I can't wait to tast them after drying and curing. The first try-out is ofcourse the scissor hasj after trimming. This produced a very pleasant and active head high, which after an hour transitioned into a relaxing body stone. This is exactly what it says in the strain description, so no surprises there just stable genetics ✌️👌 . I found one seed but didn't see any bananas during the grow. Bit weird but nothing too serious. After doing my homework on how to make piatella (turned out I need a freeze dryer) I decided to just dry and cure the buds. I will definitely press some delicious rosin from the buds as they look very well suited for this. Stay tuned for the smoke report and more pictures of the dried flowers ☘️☘️☘️ Thanks for following this diary and for the uplifting comments.
