==================================== WEEK ZERO ==================================== THURSDAY 10/18: My beans will arrive on 10/19, and I'm ready for them! I've come to believe that with so few total days that an autoflower will live, it's an absurd waste of time to sprout them in paper towels and then transfer them to media. From my best guesstimation, I'm wasting 2-3 days time with each seedling while they acclimate to new media..plus I've had some catastrophic penetrations of the paper towel by the tap root that led to failures to emerge from the soil. I'm gonna try a little experiment with rapid rooter cubes and grodan rockwool cubes this time around. I'm planting 2 x Dark Devils, one in each starter media and germinating in an enclosed tray. Once I start to see roots, I'll open up the vents on the chamber for a day, then plant them in 3 gallon fabric pots. FRIDAY 10/19: 1 pair of Dark Devil seeds are soaking! SATURDAY 10/20: Both seeds sank. SUNDAY 10/21: Both seeds sprouted and were planted. 👍 I have the 75w blue/white LED panel about 18" above them, and the 730nm far red light kicking on for an hour, every 6 hours. MONDAY: Nuttin yet.. TUESDAY: Both seedlings emerged! WEDNESDAY: Looking good.👍 ============================================= WEEK ONE ============================================= THURSDAY 10/25: Both seedlings had taproots at least 2 inches out of their cubes, so I planted them. FRIDAY: I didn't soak them well enough yesterday and wasn't able to check them til late today...suffered a casualty 😪 I dropped 2 more Dark Devil seeds in purified water...an expensive mistake that will also be a pain in my ass to manage...I'm such a dumbass.. SATURDAY: The survivor seedling looks great and one of the 2 beans I floated sprouted, so I planted it in a rockwool cube today.😁 SUNDAY: I planted the second new sprout in a rockwool cube, but the first sprout still hasn't emerged...the survivor looks great, but she doesn't like being a minority... MONDAY: Another Dark Devil sprout emerged!! No sign of the other one yet... The survivor has twisted leaves, but she should be OK.. TUESDAY: The survivor is looking good..third set of leaves...nutes tomorrow. I planted the new seedling today. WEDNESDAY: The survivor shall be called "Dominique." Her little sister is "Delilah." I see the other DD sprout just beneath the surface, so maybe baby "Drucilla" will join the party tomorrow! I fed Dominique about 32oz of ph'd water with early veg nutes, but just gave spring water to Delilah.

THURSDAY 11/1: Dominique really put on some size since I fed her for the first time yesterday Delilah is so jealous of her big sister.. Drucilla emerged today, but wasn't ready to plant just yet. I've decided to try a 20/4 light cycle for this crop to see if it helps with keeping my foliage intact a little longer through the season...plus, I want my average tent temps about 4-5 degrees cooler this time to see how much it helps with terpene production/preservation. I will continue supplementing with 4 Exhale bags in an effort to keep PPM's above 1300, even when the exhaust is running..that and the addition of silica in their diet should help mitigate the higher temps they'll experience from time to time...it's a very mild winter thus far, so it's hard to maintain consistent temps. I'll veg them at 24/0 until I'm seeing pistils poppin on the majority of them, then change to 20/4. FRIDAY: Dominique is happy..has had some weird leaf twisting from day one, but new leaves look okay. Delilah is happy and healthy. Drucilla still wasn't ready to plant just yet...she's having problems opening up her first set of leaves SATURDAY: Dominique stacked on another internode since yesterday Delilah is growing, but slowly... Drucilla finally stood up straight, but with only one functional cotyledon. MONDAY: Just gave them about 16oz of ph'd water today, foliar fed and rotated. TUESDAY: I fed Dominique and Delilah 32oz of ph'd water with full strength veg nutes and moved some lights much closer to the canopy today. WEDNEDAY: D-day (Daylight) I put them into overdrive and kicked on the 1500w light at about 30" and left the blues on them at 8" to 12" and all the cool white side lights...grow babies grow. Drucilla is off to a veeeeery slow start..hope she makes it...

THURSDAY 11/8: I watered them and foliar fed them a few times throughout the day. I added a 100w CXB3590 today at about 30" from the canopy. If temps stay manageable, I'll add another one tomorrow. FRIDAY: Notable growth today from Dominique and Delilah. I only watered baby Drucilla today, but foliar fed the other girls a few times. I lowered the lights about 4 inches, added a 100w bridgelux 3500k COB, and tilted the blue/white panels at a 45 degree angle. The blue Miracle LED's are still within a foot of them, too. SATURDAY: I fed them about 40oz of ph'd tap water with full-strength veg nutes. Baby Drucilla isn't growing, but she isn't dying, so I soaked her rockwool cube with flower's kiss foliar fert to see if that'll kick start her. SUNDAY: Dominique had a growth spurt and is putting on over an inch a day.👍 I FIM'd her today and lowered the lights a few inches. Delilah is starting to grow well now.😀 The nutes had no effect on baby Drucilla..she's still just sitting there like a little green turd...💩 MONDAY: Dominique and Delilah are both growing very well. Growth on baby Drucilla can be measured in microns😒 TUESDAY: I watered them today with about 32oz of ph'd water and a little boomerang and bud candy. I also foliar them a few times. Dominique's lower branches are growing well, so I did some leaf tucking on her. I added another 40w 5000k daylight bulb in a dim area and reconfigured my ventilation. I'm exhausting the tent much quicker now, so the temps are considerably lower, but at the cost of lower co2 ppms..😕 WEDNESDAY: I foliar fed a few times and rearranged the garden a bit. Dominique's lower branches are going nuts..growing way outwards...Delilah is growing upwards now...yay! Baby Drucilla is seriously stunted..not sure why or if she'll ever snap out of it...😕

THURSDAY: Dominique has two lower branches that are really growing outwards. She's gonna need a little training. Delilah is growing into a perfect shaped little plant..hope she puts on some size before she starts budding. I fed them both about 40oz of ph'd full-strength veg nutes today and foliar fed a few times. FRIDAY: I foliar fed them several times and rearranged the garden a little. Neither of the Dark Devil girls are front-runners, but both plants are healthy and there's still plenty of time for them to catch and surpass the others.. Baby Drucilla grew at least a 3 microns since this time last week...😖 SATURDAY: I foliar fed several times and watered them both with about 40oz of ph'd water wtih calimagic, bud candy, and terpinator and did a photo session. I felt a little like Bob Guccione today...such lovely ladies.😋 SUNDAY: I foliar fed them a few times today...so much new growth today😁! MONDAY: I gave them both their first big drink..about 1/3 gallons of ph'd water with full strength veg nutes. Dominique is flowering now, but Delilah has surpassed her in upward growth! TUESDAY: Both plants look great. I changed out all the blues for reds and added a 120w 3000k quantum board to the garden.😎 WEDNESDAY: A lot of growth this week, but I'm seeing a little light burn, so I raised the lights a few inches. Improved ventilation a bit..temps are very steady now. I'll change the lights to 20/4 in a few more days. I took some photos and foliar fed a few times..rearranged the garden a bit.

THURSDAY - 11/22 (Thanksgiving Day) I was out of town all day, so didn't spend any time with the girls...but I monitored them throughout the day with the nanny-cam...technology that I am thankful for. 😁 FRIDAY: Both Dominique and Delilah are flowering now, and they are starting to stretch a bit. I watered them today with ph'd water, some boomerang, calimagic, bud candy, and terpinator. I foliar fed a couple times and rearranged the garden. I swapped out my 1500w blurple light for the 2000w blurple light....so now I'm pushing 1000 actual LED draw watts in the 4 x 4...kinda ridiculous, but in a good way.😎Tomorrow I'll swap out the 60w 3500k COB with a 100w Citizen Clu048 to fully overpower the remaining visible purple light with white light. Temps are about 90f by the end of the day and drop to 74f for the 4 hours of darkness they are now getting. SATURDAY: I foliar fed a few times and added the extra 40w of white COB light. Moved the fan and put my 4th Exhale bag in the tent..it's almost used up, so time to order another. Took some photos. SUNDAY: I slowly fed each of them about 48oz of ph'd water with the full regimen of bloom nutes and foliar fed a few times. The 4th bag of Exhale really bumped the CO2 PPM's up nicely..if I keep my exhaust fan on about 50% and it's a cold day, it works out great and the high reaches about 84....but sadly, if it's not a cold day, I'm pushing 90f for about 8 hours..but very rich in CO2..... Bottom line is that I think I'm running too many lighting watts in this tent if I can't maintain a more consistent air intake temperature. I'll probably go back with the 1500w blurple because it runs a few degrees cooler than the 2000w, so that will put me back to about 925w actual draw watts...at least until we have another cold spell. MONDAY: I foliar fed them a few times and rotated them. Delilah is now bigger than her older sister, Dominique, but they both have ample bud sites and continue to stretch...albeit, slowly. TUESDAY: I foliar fed a few times and spun them around. Both DD's are flowering nicely now. It's looking like Delilah has a couple more bud sites(11) than her older sister, Domonique(9). WEDNESDAY: It was a good week for them both. Both plants grew a few inches they are healthy. I watered them today, each with about 1/3 gallon of ph'd water, bud candy, terpinator, and extra calimagic. I foilar fed a few times and rotated them.

THURSDAY 11/29: Dominique is really enjoying life..stretching for the "sun" and poppin' big, thick pistils like crazy. Delilah is more sensitive to light than her sister..weird..she's flowering, too, but her foliage is looking a little ragged. The two sisters are and have been equidistant to the lights the entire grow...go figure.😕 I foliar fed a few times and did a photo session. FRIDAY: I fed them about 1/3 gallon of of ph'd water with full bloom nutes including open sesame. I foliar fed them and moved them to another spot int he garden. Dominique is flowering better than Delilah at this point, but neither of them are showing any signs of carrying the "purple" traits in their genes... maybe it's too early, but I see other DD diaries with color at week 6...😢 SATURDAY: I fed them about 1/3 gallon of full-strength bloom nutes each. I foliar fed a few times and rotated everybody. Still no purple.. SUNDAY: I foliar fed a few times and rotated everybody. Still no purple.. MONDAY: Delilah is really stretching now. Dominique is just budding.. no more vertical growth. I foliar fed them once and rotated them. TUESDAY: I fed them a tiny bit of ph'd water (8-12 oz each) with calimagic, boomerang, kangaroots, and some powdered bat guano.

THURSDAY 12/6: Both Delilah and Dominique are flowering very well now. Their leaves are kinda blue-tinted compared to all the other plants and a little bit "velvety." Dominique has less buds, but they are bigger at this point. Water and photos tomorrow. FRIDAY: Delilah is exhibiting some signs of overfertilization, but her sister looks fine. I douched them both with about a half gallon of ph'd water with calimagic, terpinator, bud candy, and armor si. Took photos. SATURDAY: I'm afraid maybe Delilah is nutrient-locked a bit, so I'll prolly flush her really well with Sledgehammer on Tuesday or Wednesday. Dominique looks good. SUNDAY: I fed Delilah about a half-gallon of only Boomerang and Calimagic. Dominique got the full dose ..3/4 gallon of everything, plus Bembe. MONDAY: Evidently I should have calibrated my PH pen...damnit! I really PHukt them up. That's 2 fucking crops in a row... It looks like I'm having a terrible boron deficiency and that they were badly overwatered, but I know better...@#!$%^ Dominique doesn't look that bad at all, but Delilah looks like she might die!😰 TUESDAY: I flushed them today with about 2 gallons each of 6.2 PH'd water including Sledgehammer, Calimagic, and Boomerang. Fingers crosses that they snap out of it quickly. On a good note, I moved them into big tent with all the other bloomers. They were surprised to find that they had almost 25% more available PPFD across the whole garden (my new light was finally delivered!)

THURSDAY 12/13: It's not looking good for Delilah..doubt she pulls through..😥 Dominique was affected by the bad PH swing too, but nowhere nearly as badly. FRIDAY: so depressing...Delilah is near death..super slow recovery.. SATURDAY: Dominique is looking pretty rough now too... SUNDAY: Damnit...neither DD was gonna be purple/black..which was disappointing, but I was hoping to at least finish them... MONDAY: The girls are still recovering from PH fluctuations that made it seem as if they had a half-dozen different maladies at once..boron deficiency, overwatering, N toxicity, and light burn. Now I'm starting to believe I'm dealing with actual light burn! I think the new lights are just too intense for the distance I have them at...at least at this stage of flowering. I've dimmed them to 90% for now... I'm still so depressed about my DD's...Delilah is pathetic looking and Dominique ain't looking much better... TUESDAY: I fed them full strength bloom nutes, plus extra boomerang. In addition to the light burn issue, the new lights lower the RH in the tent waaay too much, so I've temporarily got a 4-liter cool-mist humidifier filled with ice cubes running for about 10 hours at a time before it goes dry. That's raised the average RH from 21% to 28% and lowered the average temps by a couple of degrees as well...still not good enough. So, I ordered a small evaporative cooler to put in the tent, up on the shelf. It holds a little over 2 gallons of ice water and oscillates. The new light is IP65, so a few drops raining down here and there should make no difference, but the added cooler airflow should really help to bring up the RH and lower my average temps. WEDNESDAY: The two new 85w individual OSRAM bar lights came in today and I hung them in the 1-foot wide area just below the shelf. Now I've got awesome coverage all the way across the 5 x 4. They put off some heat and I don't have any plants under them right now, so they are turned off. Love the spectrum they produce..the white is 3200k..but they just have two red diodes every 12 inches of bar, whereas my 10-bar fixture has 3500k, but 6 x reds per 12 inches of bar. The OSRAM diodes are every bit as bright if not brighter than the Samsung LM561C diodes, but all those deep red Cree XPE's on the fixture give it a much better spike in the 660nm range. It will be awesome being able to independently lower the lights in a 1' x 4' section of the garden. When you have dwarves to deal with, it's so much better than putting them on buckets.. That's a total of 1010w actual draw watts at full power in my 4 x 5 tent...sweet...just gotta get the RH and temp under control. It would take a seriously full tent for me to even consider turning on the extra 100w of side lights...but they're there if I need them 👍

THURSDAY 12/20: Delilah isn't recovering much at all...guess she'll end up in the trim bag for e-liquid...so sad. Dominique is a crispy critter too, but her trichromes are about half cloudy now, so she'll at least finish. I'll give her nutes at least once more with Cha Ching, then start flushing her. FRIDAY: The new evaporative cooler is working pretty well in the tent. High temp was 84f with it running on medium and with ice in the reservoir. That's a win. I suspect that when I need to run the other two 85w bar lights it will be pushing 90f again unless I run it on high. RH is is staying between 38% and 45%, which is another win! SATURDAY: I fed both DD's about a gallon of full-strength bloom nutes. Not sure how Delilah will like it..but it would be nice to see a little yield from her, too... SUNDAY: Photo session...Dominique is actually starting to "pink" a little bit..not the deep dark I had hoped for, but sexy just the same. Delilah didn't freak out on the nutes yesterday..I'll watch for the leaf production to diminish and the calyx production to intensify...🙏

THURSDAY 12/27: I watered both plants with about 3/4 gallon of ph'd water including bembe, bud candy, terpinator, calimagic, and a little cha ching. Dominique may only get one more feeding before I start flushing her. FRIDAY: I decided to pull the plug on Delilah..what little bit of worthy bud I did pull from her looks pretty special... Dominique has pole position under the "sun" now that Charlene (C4) has been harvested. She's also getting UVB blasted now. SATURDAY: I took some close-up photos of Dominique today. She's progressing much faster than I thought. I'd say she's already got about 10-15% amber trichromes. She will get no more nutes...starting flush tomorrow. SUNDAY: I put about 2 gallons of water with bembe through her today. Plain water and sledgehammer next time. MONDAY: She's still under the UVB.. TUESDAY: Soaking up the UVB rays... WEDNESDAY: Tomorrow is her last flushing..👍

THURSDAY 1/3: I flushed Dominique today for the last time...I'll give her 3-4 more days in the sun, then sneak up on her from behind..😈 FRIDAY: Took a few photos of Dominique today.😍 SATURDAY: Dominique is still moist..another day.. SUNDAY: Dominique is dead and drying! Gorgeous, smelly, sticky buds!👍

SUNDAY 1/6: Both plants have been harvested. Delilah was harvested a week ago and is fully dry and curing. I'll weigh her and Dominique in a few days. I'll give Delilah a taste test then as well, but it will be another week or two before I try Dominique. They grew really well early on but things took a turn for the worse when I had PH problems and heat issues at week 4 and 5 (deja vu last grow). Delilah had a pathetic yield and Dominique's won't be especially great, but I can't really complain about it because I feel responsible for not providing the conditions necessary for them to produce. They make some really pretty, resinous flowers with a unique aroma. Can't wait to smoke some!😍 SATURDAY 1/13: I weighed and jarred Dominique and Delilah today: Dominique: 44g Delilah: 19g The poor yield is my fault for the most part...I damn near killed Delilah with the high temps and ph fluctuations and she still gave me over a half oz. of tasty/potent bud. Dominique wasn't as badly affected, but I know she'd have produced more if I had provided her with the right conditions to really flourish. I've still got a few of these beans and look forward to giving it another try! TUESDAY 1/15: I smoked some of Dominique's bounty today...daaauummnn that's tasty! I got pretty blasted on about 5 or 6 bong rips and needed a nap...more like 80% Indica. Final comments: Yield: 5/10 Potency: 8/10 Flavor: 9/10 Aroma: 8/10 Bag appeal: 9/10 Tolerance to abuse/neglect: 6/10 Overall this strain is a winner..solid 7-8 on my 10 scale. Looking forward to growing it again!👍
