First week of my first grow! The weeks leading to this were filled with hours of research from every source I could find. I still wake up and start reading or looking at diaries. I’m growing in a 4x4 tent in an insulated but not heated garage. I have a small heater in the tent connected to an Inkbird temp controller set to kick on at 70 degrees and turn off at 80. This sucks a lot of humidity from the tent. I have 2 humidifiers running to combat this and it stays around 45% RH on average; getting higher than that has proved quite the challenge. I’ve admired quite a few diaries on here and I hope everyone enjoys my rookie season.

Both plants had roots protruding from the drainage holes of the Solo cup by day 7 prompting me to transplant them to 1 gallon smart pots earlier than I anticipated. SOIL MIX is 1 part Fox Farms Light Warrior to 3 parts Fox Farms Ocean Forest.

Halfway through week 3. Both the girls have been transplanted to their final 5 gallon smart pot home. Soil medium is no longer a Light Warrior/Ocean Forest blend; it’s just Ocean Forest now. I don’t think that soil will be too hot at this point. Both plants are on their 4th node, I want to top at the 6th node so hopefully next week. Plant 2 has far more internode spacing even though both plants the same distance from the light. Plant 1 is developing 4 leaves so the fan isn’t symmetrical. Otherwise healthy. Leaves were droopier than usual today which might be transplant shock or I might have overwatered their new homes. Will add more to this week at the end. Love feedback!

Happy Halloween! The girls are 21 days old today from seed to now. It’s been a busy week for them. Both the girls went through some LST as you can see. I went ahead and took off their first set of leaves. Plant #2 got micro topped this week at node 5. Plant #1 is almost ready to be topped. I’m debating on what height to set the SCROG, their stalk is getting very thick and I’m going to be nervous about breaking it if I wait much longer. Any thoughts or advice for me give me a follow or leave in the comments below! Thanks everyone.

Kinda a rough week, everyone. I’ve been battling the flu all week and my energy is zapped. So firstly I had been growing increasingly annoyed of leaf clawing. I addressed overwatering and started only watering every 4-5 days and the girls responded well. I researched defoliation as much as I could and gave it a go because the plants weren’t getting optimal light. Might’ve overdone it, I’m not sure. Then came lowering the screens to begin scrogging. I’ve read probably every forum and article and looked at dozens of diaries; but it feels like when I’m tying branches to the screen it’s just stacking them on other leaves and blocking more light. I hate my LED, it’s probably only good for one plant. But today one of the bulbs went out, brand new light. I decided to buy a 315w CMH Light should be here next week. Live and learn. Should have done a single plant grow. It’s a new week though it will all work out. 🍁

Unfortunately I made the decision to get rid of plant #2. In hindsight I wish now I had started with a single plant, but she had kept getting sick and every correction I would make would start to solve one symptom only for another to occur. It was sucking the joy out of this experience. Plant #1 has stayed healthy throughout, she seems to be much more resilient. She was also the shorter bushier one compared to Plant #2 which had long spacing between nodes. The LED has been replaced and I couldn’t be happier, the entire tent is bathed in light and I can’t help but wondering where this plant would be with CMH from the start. All in all I’m very pleased this week, I plan to do one more week of veg and flip her over to 12/12. Thanks for following! 🍁

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving, ate some good food and spent some good time with the family! I decided to put away the SCROG for now and focus more on opening up the canopy with LST and a bit of defoliation. I hope everyone enjoys the results, the trained eyes and support and advice I receive truly means a lot.

The whole experience so far, to me, has been interesting. But I suppose now we’ve arrived at the point where things get really interesting. Did one more round of heavy defoliation this week to really get all the bud sites exposed to light. Not a significant amount of stretching with this strain.

Good evening everyone, simple question. When do you recommend using carb sources during flowering and for how long do you recommend running them?

Hello! You ate talking about carbohydrates (sugar) right ? So you start adding carbs just after the stretch of your plant when you buds starts to swell around week 3/4 of flowering, it is nearly impossible to overdose carbs like molasse so you can't really over feed with catbs. You can add carbs until the flush. I hope it will help you 😁👍

Man, what a great week. Put back on the SCROG and did a little weaving to keep that canopy open. One of the main branches is still working to reach the screen but it’s getting plenty of light and doesn’t seem to be slowing down. I was away for a couple days and when I opened that tent after getting back the first thing I was hit with was a very satisfying smell followed by bud sites that looked like the swelled twice as big while I was away! A little bit of light burn on a couple of the tallest leaves but that’s about it! Hope everyone else had a great week!

Every week my hand in the grow becomes a little less. Every 5 days she gets watered until runoff and that’s about it. Every morning I peek in on her and take a nice deep inhale through my nose, then I close up the tent and wait patiently for the next morning to do it all over. The leaves are starting to frost up with trichomes. Can’t explain how eager I am for harvest. Any early predictions on yield?

For a couple weeks there has been some redness in the stalk which I’ve thought nothing of. However, today the edges of some smaller sugar leaves have started to turn purple. Temperature is staying as noted above, should I be concerned?

Hey there so the red stems can be many things. Genetics, purple strains, berry strains, common. Phosphorus deficiency and magnesium too, but you have a good nutrient line up so unless you'rehaving lockout or ph problems I'd say not nutrient related. The 1st thing i saw was your lower humidity which can also play a role just as much as high/low heat can. Your plant seems overall healthy though, so i wouldn't stress too much...but of coarse finding out the source of our problems is always good. My guess is either the genetics or slightly humidity temp based...i think anything under 70 degrees will start initiating color changes. Happy harvesting ✌️

Several small things this week. Chiefly, some small amount of nutrient burn going on. Before it worsens I cut nutrients down quite a bit. Secondly the buds are starting to get some purple, as is the stem. I don’t think it is the result of any issue since they don’t see to be slowing down, but just to be on the safe side I increased the amount of phosphorus she’s getting this week to see what happens. Don’t know if I’ve seen a Hulkberry pheno express purple traits (or maybe I have an just forgotten) but it definitely looks beautiful.

Started flushing this week which is about a week earlier than I had planned on. For what ever reason last week I started running in to some problems with what looked like nutrient burn. I increased that amount of phosphorus in the last couple feedings while lowering total nutrients pretty significantly but still some leaves started to yellow around the edges and get very dry. It doesn’t seem to have caused any issues other than superficial but without me being able to solve it and being so close to harvest anyway I made the decision to flush now and harvest around week 15. Been honing my bud manicuring skills in my free time with lots of YouTube tutorials lol! Hope everyone had a good week!

Will give a full harvest report in a couple weeks after the buds are done drying and have started to cure but I have high hopes! Without tasting them I can comment on the fact that the aroma they give off is a very strong pine scent. Very surreal experience to finally chop her down and that all these weeks of care culminated to this. When I started this grow I was hoping for each plant (there were 2 originally) to give me about an ounce and I’ll probably end up around that goal in dry weight. I’ve already started my next grow and I can’t wait to keep sharing them with the friends I’ve made here. Thank you. FULL REPORT: After several days of drying I ground up a few popcorn buds to share the fruits of my labor with some good friends. I expected the smoke to be somewhat harsh since it has yet to cure but to my surprise that wasn’t the case at all. It produced a very smooth smoke that tasted heavily of pine and was almost cool on the exhale. My friends claimed to taste fruity notes but that flavor must have escaped me. The high was fantastic and I definitely produced a wonderful strain to be social with. I have the tendency to become very introverted and retreat into my own mind (or worse my phone) when I’m high. This wasn’t the case I was relaxed and wanted to have elaborate conversations. As the high continued it gave way to the most intense fits of giggling I’ve ever experienced. Who knows who started laughing first but none of us could stop. This has been a great experience and it’s meaningful to share and enjoy something that was the result of my effort and care. Look forward to the next grows! Thanks for tuning in to the diary. 0
