Fresh res change last night. Plants are still alive. Can't figure out my purple stems. Boron deficiency? Plants seem healthy otherwise. Another week or two of veg before moving to the adult tent. Day 54: did some lst last night. pH is steady at 6.1. ppm is 1160 Day 56: some spots appearing on older leaves. Res change night tonight so hopefully they stop. Moving the girls into seperate reservoirs as well as moving them under the LED in the 3x3 tent.

Grow Questions

Droopy leaves on a seedling in dwc top feed system. Would you think it's caused by (1)low temp (16°C),(2) low dissolved O2 due to small air pump making Large bubbles, (3) lack of nutrients due to still being on seedling feed schedule, (4) low humidity.

It's lack of oxygen, get a better airstone and / or air pump. Low humidity does not kill a plant, it just grows slower. If it were lack of nutes the leaves would be yellowing. You really need an EC/PPM meter for hydro and soilless media. Good luck

I advice you to keep growing the same way. And as you are growing with GHE flora series take a look at the Lucas formula feeding schedule to have another feeding chart option.

According to the trichromes I'm guessing there's more than 2 weeks remaining before harvest. I'm looking for all cloudy with some amber trichromes and the majority of them are still clear with slightly cloudy. Anyone able to give me a more accurate timeline? 1 week? 2 weeks? 3?

Hi @StinkyPinky! Unfortunately every situation is different, every strain has its own way to ripe and every setup/environment has an impact on resin production. The most important thing is to do a daily trichomes inspection, only you will be able to determine precisely the harvest window. If you want some amber trichomes in your ratio then you will have to wait, they will show up once the harvest window is closing, but this will give you enough time to find the D-day. You might consider harvesting on a new moon, as the gravitational effect will limit the quantity of water in the plant. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing! 👊

I selected spinnerCaribbean answer for my question because I hadn't heard about the lucas method yet and I'm running low on my floragro. Did a bit of reading and it looks like the Lucas formula gives me an option over trying to source more in my remote location. Thanks to everyone who've given advice!

@The_Projexx, thanks!! Waiting for the clear trichromes to turn cloudy is the hardest part so far. I'm away for a few days now so I'll get to check again on Monday. Thinking one or two weeks left and I'll chop. Rather be a little late than early!

Damn stinky well done. What brand of light are you using?

@StinkyPinky, awesome I was going to buy the vipraspectra but opted for one with a COB. Looks like they both do a great job. Good luck with your harvest.

StinkyPinkycommented6 years ago
@Growdaddy420, Thanks man! Appreciate it! I have a 600w equivalent viparspectra led. I used CFL for veg. I'm thinking 2 weeks to harvest as the stems of most the trichromes are cloudy while the heads are clear

is there any reason for a location of air pump?
StinkyPinky
StinkyPinkycommented6 years ago
@@grzesiek, the power bar is in the ceiling of the tent, so the cord isn't long enough to lay it on the ground. If I lay it on the reservoir it makes a lot of noise, so I hang it with the power cord and it seems to be doing ok. Kind of strange I guess but with 15 gal of water in the bottom of the tent I figured it would be best to keep it high lol.

Looks good fellow canuck. When are you planning on starting LST?
StinkyPinky
StinkyPinkycommented6 years ago
@cabinriver, I'm waiting until I get my 5th -6th true node. This week for D1 hopefully! Still want the roots to establish themselves a little more. Thanks for looking!

For anyone looking at this I'm basically a noob hoping to successfully establish a perpetual harvest every 10-12 weeks. My setup: 2 chamber 3x4x6 grow tent (3x3 flower & 3x1 prop/veg) Veg has 8 100w equivalent daylight CFL(6500k) Flower I have siparspectra 600w Led. I have large black storage tote for veg & flower and 2 small 3gal Rubbermaid totes for propagation and cloning. Small net pots and some old hydroton and Rockwood cubes. Right now I'm running a 4w dual outlet air pump for the prop chamber and the air stones that came with it. I plan on getting new air stones and a larger volume pump this weekend for when the roots hit the water. I'm running a small Aquarium pump to top feed the plants until established roots are in water at which point I'll remove the top feed and relocate to dedicated reservoirs to have room for flowering. My tent has a 6" carbon air filter and 6" inline duct fan. The unused ports in the tent have carbon filter material stuffed into place to filter incoming air and to prevent pests. I also had to do this to prevent the divider wall in my tent from being sucked in which caused light leaks I have a 4" carbon filter as a spare now as I don't think I'll need it for my veg chamber. Still need small oscillating fans, and 3-4" duct fan for the veg chamber. Right now I have 2 small 12v computer fans hanging for airflow with the viewing window left open to exchange air and attempt to lower the temps. I bought 5 Sour Diesel fem seeds. I germinated 2 and plan to clone the cuttings when I top them. Legally I'm permitted to grow 4 plants so I want 2 in flower and 2 in prop/veg. Let's see how this ambitious grow will go!!
