Vuestro hermano,
Tom

TommyBVRSA75 What a wonder the beginning of life is... and I still can't get over the fact that in about three months, it will be time to cut it down, and in the meantime, there's always a great dedication and love put into the growth of these wonders.
It has germinated very well, and in a week, you can already see it thriving with vitality.
This season is always the most complex for me, mainly due to the high temperatures, low relative humidity, and the need to pay special attention to pests, which, even if the grow is indoor, for example, root fungi thrive much more, so we need to be very attentive to the development. Water stress is also a very important factor, as this morning, after many hours of the light cycle being on, it was easy to have over 30ºC and humidity above 40%, and that is a challenge for a seedling.
Practically, the dimmer on the two 150-watt LED panels I have in the system (2 X Mars Hydro TS1000) plus the two TLED 3200K 26 watts are still only at 70% so that both in irradiation and thermal aspect, we don't put the seedlings under stress that could affect their normal development, so everything is perfectly normal.
I have a lot of faith in this Gorilla, as in more recent times, I've already enjoyed some Gorilla strains - both photoperiod and autoflowering - and they are amazing with their extremely high THC percentages and their beautiful aromas and flavors. As for an F1 Gorilla, this is the first one I have in grow, and I'm sure it will be in line with what the friends at 00 Seeds usually have, and if their F1s can be like what they have in autos and photoperiods, a good outcome will be guaranteed.
According to 00 Seeds, this is one of their strongest strains in THC, with rates always above 25% and with the wonderful quality and outstanding bud structure both in terpenes and resin quantity.
So always giving thanks to God Jah for the guidance and protection always needed, and a 420 hug to all my brothers.

TommyBVRSA75 Let's see... in the realm of F1s (not the cars that fly around circuits at 300 km/h) and if the F1s, meaning Fast genetics, integrate a photoperiod-dependent strain that has been around forever and cross it with some more thought-out automatic strain or, at the extreme, crossing two photoperiod-dependent strains and integrating a ruderal gene, much like creating a photoperiod-dependent with automatic expression... I start with the explanation because today I read like two old comments about this "young lady" that I'm working on and the buddies who commented three years ago, "one" complaining that there was no way to get clones from this GG#4 Fast (GG#4 or Gorilla Glue #4 if you didn't know yet)... friend, brother, grower from the beginning or the end, you have three hundred photoperiod-dependent strains that allow you to get incredible clones and this brother complains about the impossibility of getting a decent clone from Gorilla Fast... let's see if you realize responding after 3 years to your dissatisfaction... in the same way, you can't get clones from automatics, FROM THE F1s (the "fast" as it is) YOU CAN'T GET CLONES, DON'T FORGET THAT THERE'S A SIGNIFICANT RUDERALIS PARENTAL LOAD, meaning you can't think that what a clone from a Fast can translate is its photoperiod-dependent nature and if it's in order due to the existing ruderal load, surely the clones of this or other Fasts will almost certainly have the limitations of someone who foolishly has ever tried to get clones from automatics. The clones from the Fasts will have the exact same problem as anyone who dares to want to generate clones from automatic strains... very naturally, clones will come out that are half of the base clone and at no point afterwards will we have buds with acceptable quantity, size, and quality. Once again, just as you can't make clones from automatics, you can't make clones from F1s and much because the automatic parentage presented in the F1s clearly determines that we will undoubtedly have clones of "automatic" similarity that will end up in a grow of this clone, which will surely have very reduced potential, developing a new "plant" that will reach no more than in "green" mass, a little over 50% of what photoperiod-dependent clones would be and not to mention buds in much smaller quantity and very deficient structure with flowers that are much less dense, with terpenes that are much less intense and with gaps in resin loads.
When the brother who commented that the Gorilla Fast from 00 Seeds was "terrible" because it wasn't suitable for clones, that it developed like an automatic (?!?!?) what I couldn't understand, because what I was left wondering was the basic question, if our brother by any chance didn't change at 3/4 weeks from the seedling, inducing flowering with a 12/12 light cycle, as our brother says his Gorilla Fast developed like an automatic and this question only leads us to understand that our brother when he got into the grow of the Fast version of Gorilla, with the process of an automatic and surely he gave throughout the entire cycle, lights on 18/6 or even on a 20/4 cycle, throughout the whole cycle from seedling to harvest and very likely our brother didn't realize that F1s can develop in sequence to what the light cycle needs of automatics... so I explained clearly, an F1 (fast) due to its inclusive automatic genetics can reach its terminus if we place complete light cycles from start to finish of 18/6 and its automatic parentals will carry the grow to terms changing or not, the cycle. The ideal of an F1 is that the change is made on day 25/30 from seed germination, for the 12/12 cycle and thus induce flowering. Due to the conjugated genetics of photoperiod-dependent with automatics or ruderalis genetics, F1 (fast) strains have the capacity that if you keep the 18/6 cycle throughout the cycle, they can express the automatic nature or by maintaining the light cycle without changes, develop their potential as automatics... still, if to an F1 (fast) genetics at 25/30 days of cycle from its germination we change to the 12/12 cycle and with the reduction of light time, immediately inducing flowering. What our brother with his comment tells us is that: 1 - his grow behaved like an automatic and yes... that can and will happen normally, if to an F1, the grower decides to give it the same cycle from start to finish and very simply as there is "automatic" or ruderalis in the parentals, instead of the normal limitation of a photoperiod-dependent where it would have to, either "yes" or "yes", reduce the cycle from 18/6 to 12/12, meaning flowering in order, occurs with the decrease in light hours... as in the F1s (Fast) there is automatic genetics, if there is no natural light cycle change to reduce lights to a lower number of hours, flowering will occur in the same way and thus, very simply, it will depend on the grower to use the characteristics of the F1s, to obtain grows much on the level of a photoperiod-dependent "always", but playing in favor of the possibility of a shortened complete cycle, as long as the grower understands that and my experience has made me understand, that in a vegetative (from seedling to the vegetative stage that we decide to extend, no more than 25/30 days -- light cycle change from 18/6 to 12/12 (induction to flowering) -- the first week to ten days of flowering where it is visible that even though flowering is not immediate, it occurs like a prolonged vegetative where in vertical growth it’s as if the grow keeps "pushing" the vegetative without "exploding" the flowering -- At 10 days after changing the cycle to 12/12 and thus giving the "starting gun" for the "explosion" of flowering, the grow starts meanwhile to fully enter flowering and what marks a lot of differences is that the speed of flowering in the F1 (fast) is actually, amazing in its speed.
Even though manufacturers and people who handle genetics in the banks talk about F1s and here in the F1 of GG #4, and say "45-55 days for flowering"... what experience has taught me is that the cycle of F1s occurs properly with: a vegetative stage where it is not necessary to give it 6 weeks to achieve the desired vegetative outline; that after changing the light cycle to achieve flowering, the vegetative stage continues for a week and something, despite the change in light hours and after those 10/12 days, flowering explodes tremendously and as if in a month all the floral outlines and buds have already been defined and in the end, mission accomplished with the "fast" we have managed to obtain a photoperiod strain with almost the speed of an automatic flowering.
All this talk for something as simple as understanding how "fast" grows are done and very specifically those very defined issues for those who are less clear; - the fasts imply that the photoperiod is chosen and applied by the grower and more the fasts end up being like a recombinant of parentage where photoperiod-dependent and automatic genetics, when applied satisfactorily, bring the best of both worlds, which is why you need to be very well informed about how F1 - Fast are planted, developed, and how the cycles are completed.
God Jah always protecting all brothers and a 420 for the brothers, always!

TommyBVRSA75 Let's see...30 days into the cycle from day 0 of germination, changing the light cycle from 18/6 to 12/12.
A very solid and uniform growth in genetics, and the GG#4 (Gorilla) Fast from 00 Seeds is showing very good manners and a very positive reaction to the typical summer conditions. As you can see, we have to balance the summer "cruelty" almost daily. Maximum temperatures reaching nearly 30ºC and even in the dark, not dropping below 23ºC, with low humidity for the norm, meaning we're daily between 40 and 50%, and we have to pay close attention to the stress that grows experience in summer.
Using Madame Grow's Lacalva and alternating it with Cultivers' soluble Kelp gives us additional control as important grow balancers, always making sure to balance with the light incidence (the Mars Hydro TS1000 panels, at least the important feature of being able to place the dimmer ballast outside the grow cabinet, helps keep the temperature from being "deadly" for the grows).
For this reason, it's important to highlight that the Gorilla, due to its genetics, "forgives" heat much more visibly than the Blue Steam (the grow cabinet companion), which, due to its Blueberry genetics, tends to be much more sensitive to higher temperatures...the Blueberries thrive much better in winter and react very negatively to the conditions we have.
Additionally, as the week progresses, the ScroG trellis has already been set up, and with that, the basic idea is to open up space for light entry, oxygen, and allow for the branches to be moved aside, optimizing growth.
With the change of lights to 12/12, there will also be a strategic change in pH levels, meaning that with the onset of flowering, the next weeks will involve providing dilutions never lower than 5.90 pH (so that the integration intervals are less focused on nitrogen and micronutrients and especially to start integrating magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium much better, as the rates for these minerals for integration are much more within a range between 5.80, which we finished vegetative with, and we'll rise to a maximum of 6.40 in the final moments of flowering.
It will also be time in the coming days to evaluate if vertical growth will continue at least in the next ten days, and after entering flowering, it will be time to start defoliating the base area of the grow, allowing for proportional growth in the lower areas of the grow.
From what I know about the fast strains, the change to the 12/12 cycle won't make flowering start immediately, and there will still be an adaptation period between the light change and the phenotypic character at the beginning of flowering. Therefore, the reason for the vegetative balance determined by the initial light cycle of 18/6, in my opinion, should not be extended more than 30 days from the day of hatching...as we will have more than 10 days of light cycle adaptation where the vegetative phase will be the "tone," and even in flowering, we will still have more than a week of vertical growth. The proper induction to flowering in fast strains should happen at most on day 30, and that's because flowering in fast strains is necessarily explosive in branch expansion and thus leaf mass, and in just over a week, I will start proceeding with defoliation every two to three days.
As for everything else, so far the photos express the health and vitality of the Gorilla F1 from 00 Seeds.
God Jah always commanding our grows, protecting us against adversities, and 420 as a philosophy of command in our love for this botanical wonder.
Until next time!

TommyBVRSA75 And we're still at it... Gorilla Fast, and what can I say since the last diary entry.
1- In my opinion, Gorilla Fast, or by definition GG #4 F1, is the best and most stable genetic variety of this season among the three grows and the two from 00 Seeds.
2- In terms of comparison regarding defoliation and smell, it’s the strain with the most interesting terpenes, leaving an aroma leaning towards orange, and it fills the grow room with a pungent and sweet scent that is characteristic of these GG strains (the common Gorillas).
3- Solid growth that I would define as exponential, and among the other strains, it has shown the least of that characteristic "fast" growth spurts. From seedling to vegetative, things moved quickly, and within six days, we were in full vegetative stage. With the transition from vegetative to flowering due to the light change, it has been the strain I've seen exhibit the least signs of stress.
4- With the light cycle change, I expected, due to its "fast" nature and according to what the 00 Seeds bank reports in its characteristics, that since it was the strain that showed the most vertical growth during vegetative, I was convinced that with the shift from 18/6 to 12/12, there would be a vertical "jump" that wasn’t as significant as I expected. However, there was a great reaction when applying the ScroG, and the structure of the lateral branches consolidated very well. The defoliation contributed to strengthening the lateral branches and the internodal spaces, and the thickness of the branches suggests it will be a grow with very good-sized and dense buds. Nevertheless, as I mentioned, I expected significant vertical growth, and even though it gained height, it’s curious to see that, for example, when compared to the Blue Dream FF, which shares the grow space, the Blue Dream has outgrown it by about 10 centimeters. Both are clearly indicas due to their structure, but the Gorilla, in its lateral branching and early flowering, is much more harmonious. In those traits that hint at flower development, the Gorilla is more interesting than the Blue Dream, with a clear "Christmas tree" design where the lateral branches are inserted much more symmetrically, which greatly helps with defoliation. Whenever primary leaves are removed, the secondary growth cuttings receive light, and with that, the Gorilla showcases its best characteristic: every secondary branch point, no matter how small, when it reaches for "light," develops very quickly into a new flowering outline. With this strategy, it has been very easy to multiply areas where we will have prime buds since the cuttings quickly grow towards the lights. This strategy had already been successful during the spring season with the "fast" Tropicanna Poison, where this method of almost daily defoliation of primary leaves allowed me to achieve a large number of flowering points, and rather than just the growth of the main cola and half a dozen lateral branches, it ended up being a grow with an outstanding number of flowering points, making it very productive.
5- Something stands out in the two strains in the grow space - both from 00 Seeds - both indicas - both with very similar structures - both very alike in cycles - but the most noticeable difference is the hybrid cut of the Blueberry very present in the Blue Dream, and what has stood out recently has been precisely the vertical expansion of the Blue Dream... so somewhat counterintuitively, the Blue Dream with its Blueberry genes, which end up being genes that are more adaptable to mid-season - like spring and autumn - is showing incredible size in summer conditions. Additionally, something in its sativa hybrid, which is relatively low in percentage, is manifesting and proving effective in a high-quality and high-potential grow. There has been a need to adapt light incidence since some curling was noticeable in the cola and secondary branches, which at times caused some concern. Still, comparing it to the Gorilla, and since this diary entry is about the Gorilla FF, the Gorilla is not a strain that appears to be so nitrogen-dependent. As I mentioned, the strains are very similar in their phenotype, and for the Blue Dream, its Blueberry traits, for example, show leaf colors leaning towards a very dark green (not to be confused with nitrogen excess, as the dark color of the chlorophyll in the Blueberry is a present note in them) and its tendency in recent times to grow vertically, defining a central cola that will be the base for sequential buds according to each internodal area... in the case of the Gorilla, it’s very obvious that we are dealing with a grow of solid and massive structure in its bud character.
6- In the end, talking only about terpenes, and in these summer times, there’s something that worries me for the future, which is that during pre-flowering, terpenes are already very present, and from here until August, nature clearly shows it in these strains - both in the two from 00 Seeds and in the bulk from Cogolandia, which has gone to "seek" the smells of its parent, the Kritikal Bilbo, which is a strain that "hits" the nose strongly with its terpenes. Let’s see how we will manage to mask the odors that the "ladies" are already hinting at, and with neighbors in a residential block, it’s a big risk...
May God Jah always show us the way, protect us from external risks, and also protect our grows from pests that feel more comfortable acting with negative consequences in summer... while everything runs smoothly.
420 always, and that hug until next week.

TommyBVRSA75 In just a few days, and it's not uncommon that, for example, in a few weeks, one grow that is just a bit taller than another, that last one will double the height of the first in just a few days. And that happened with the grows I have in the grow cabinet. Very clear... the Gorilla hasn't grown vertically but is becoming a very solid grow. This often happens during the transition from vegetative to flowering, and I usually have a clear understanding that when the light cycles change and while the grow isn't pushing its flowering genetics, for a few days there is still some vertical push as if completing the effective "terminus" of the vegetative stage. But as you can see, it's very clear that the Blueberry genetics and much of the hybrid expression, while the Gorilla is getting "strong," just the Blue Dream has shown vertical push.
The Gorilla has been very easy to manage regarding defoliation application points, and I explained... it's very visible in this type of grow with the structure of the Gorilla, right over the immense coverage of primary leaves that grow chaotically in just three days. The trick with the "fast" is the balance of defoliating with all the criteria those large leaves that can't be removed without measuring the impact on nitrogen integration and thus a great root development.
That experience of defoliating some of the large primary leaves and immediately bringing out the secondary branches at a more interior level, using the ScroG trellises and creating support for the secondary branches to develop, diversifying flowering points and future buds.
May God Jah continue to give us the knowledge and protection we need and keep teaching us about this incredible botanical wonder.

TommyBVRSA75 They say... to call bread "bread" and wine "wine," and there's no way to create wonders in something whose potential isn't for wonders.
First reflection of great importance that goes through the "fast" and their expressions of phenotype and more expressions of phenotype subject to heat and humidity. The summer where I live is relentless, whether outdoors or indoors, and the "fast" from 00 Seeds that I started for the summer season can't withstand the stress conditions like those that are created.
During the light period (daytime), the temperature even indoors is around 30-33ºC, and the humidity, despite being "tolerable," can be over 60% (it might drop a bit to around 55% during lights), but it's very clear that these "fast" grows in my grow cabinet are overwhelmed by stress, which leads to very significant problems in development.
The flowering is a tremendous disappointment with a brutal amount of primary leaves, and the flowering at the base had to be drastic, as the lack of upper push has translated into an absurd amount of "vampire" branches (that is, floral sketches that weren't going to develop into buds... so the phenotype expression, whether of the Gorilla or the Blue Dream, hasn't had a capable internode formation, leading to the lower areas creating "vampire" branches... so the phenotype of these grows has leaned towards creating trash in lower planes and not gaining strength (that is, integrating phosphorus and potassium well in the upper areas and thus creating quality buds).
As a result, it has become a mortal necessity to defoliate heavily in the lower areas and remove all that "garbage" without the effectiveness of creating buds... on top of that, because there's still a desire for something to come out of such mediocre grows, it has become indispensable to provide an extremely high amount of PK boosters so that the fine buds that have developed so far can gain thickness and texture.
Disappointment number 2, in terpenes and resins, each of the "fast" grows in the cabinet is worse than the other... no smell, no resin, nothing at all that makes these strains even minimally acceptable... that is, it's "bad weed" not to be too harsh on the folks at 00 Seeds, and if the grow conditions aren't good, at least the bulk Kritikal Bilbo Fast seed has interesting terpenes and good looks... so a bulk seed from the Cogolandia store is far superior to the strains from 00 Seeds, and I could say that the problem is the summer and the bad conditions, but if the Cogolandia grow produces good terpenes and gains internode space, for some buds, no matter how small they may be, they have good potential... the "garbage" of these F1s from 00 Seeds... reminder, never develop "fast" from these people again, and especially, don't develop "fast" from these people in summer.
So this summer "fast" season from 00 Seeds is a true disaster, and if I weren't so respectful of living beings, I would take these two "substitutes" of some crap resembling cannabis under conditions and throw them in the trash and be happy about it.
May God Jah always protect us, and may even today's mistakes be tomorrow's successes.
I'm so upset with what this season has become that I will comment on the Gorilla and the Blue Dream, I will post the photos and specifications, but I won't comment on them... so you can see how happy I am.
420 Always, and many thanks to the friends at @TrolMaster for sending their Tent -X module.
Regarding the friends at @TrollMaster, I can only say that they are incredible for lending us their material so that we can have a much clearer definition of the parameters of our grows... how I would love to win their prize and with it gain access to the wonderful sensors that control the PAD parameters... their CO2 meters, their spectrometer for PAR and PPFD measurement, their water and nutrient controllers. I really regret not having had access to the high-quality materials from TrollMaster at the beginning for analyzing my spring season, yet I thank them for the borrowed material as well as the beautiful cap they sent me. @trollmaster... they are phenomenal!!

TommyBVRSA75 Let's see... Gorilla Fast from 00 Seeds. What to say... a distinctly indica structure with a very significant number of trichomes that are already showing maturity and the presence of leaves where the buds have developed in the internodes.
What can be said about these buds... first, note that they are compact and by definition will have acceptable quality after drying and curing, but as I have already mentioned, they are not buds that impress with intense terpenes and notable resins. It has a very faint orange aroma and if anything, there are doubts about the advertised 25% THC and whether it will have quality in the end.
As for the grow scenario, efforts have been placed on defoliating, so that the colas could develop with as much strength as possible.
As has been the case for all the "fast" strains this season, it has been necessary to practice a very notable balance regarding the way of integrating nutrients; the action of heat and humidity, and of course understanding how to undo nutritional blockages, particularly in the flowering phase and the PK.
In the end, and that’s when drying and curing are ready, we will have to understand what kind of smoke will come out in the end and it’s still not very clear if what we will get will balance between the amount harvested and the final quality.
As I have told you many times this season, the "fast" strains from 00 Seeds are a mystery, with plenty of doubts and they go through terpenes and resins that were abundant in other grows and here we are lacking a lot due to the resulting bud structures. If the Blue Dream's Blueberry push ended up creating a phenotype very much based on Sativa; for the Gorilla, the phenotype is very Indica, but it’s an exercise in guessing and speculating if what we obtained will be something special; or some "grass" without additional interest.
The God Jah who knows everything and protects us at every moment will be sovereign when it comes to giving us something, and it has not been for lack of effort and giving the best I know and can, to finally have something that brings us "heads and hearts" joy.
420 Always and we will be here for whatever comes...

TommyBVRSA75 Interesting strain in its aromas and not too strong. It provides a nice relaxation without taking away the social aspect of things. There are much better F1 (fast) options, and 00 Seeds still needs to perfect their S1 and F1.
