Facepalm. Well, I definitely know how to stunt the growth and almost kill my cannabis plants. This week for growing has not been the best. The plants have managed to travel from the Death Valley in California to the humid region in the Amazon Basin. I’ve finally managed to get the climate under control. When the pistols popped out last week I decided I’d add the red spectrum to the Viparspectra 700. I knew that the temperature would increase so I watched my Cloudline duct fan bump up to max. Everything was under control the fan kept the temperature at 75. Two days later my carabiners arrived from Amazon so I could finally hang the Optic 2 LED. Once I hung the new light the problems started to happen. The super fancy Cloudline duct fan has an auto function which changes the fan speed to manage the set temperature. I set the humidifier to 50% as the plan was to slowly decrease it as the plants started to bud. OK well, the temperature jumped up to 78 with an RH of 50 % when I added the additional light which I thought was perfect. A few hours went by and humidifier ran out of water when I can back the temp had jumped up to 90. I quickly added more water to the humidifier and decided I needed to remove the carbon filter because it reduces the CFM dramatically. Now that took care of the temperature but when I woke up I had another problem. The auto function on the duct shuts off when temperatures are below the set temp. So the lack of new air caused the humidity to jump up to 75% at night UGGGGHHH. The solution to that problem was to remove the humidifier, in general, my house has an RH of 40 % I’d rather have that then bud rot. Ok, now my watering problems….. Two days ago my plants started to droop and somehow according to my previous problems I automatically assumed I overwatered AGAIN. Yesterday the plants looked dead I thought for sure that they had root rot from drowning or the stress that was caused by the heat or humidity. I NOW KNOW WHAT WILTED PLANTS LOOK LIKE FROM UNDERWATERING! I added some water yesterday and bam they sprouted back to life. I didn’t realize how hard it would be to water the plants. This grow is definitely a learning experience. BTW I added the trellis to create a SCROG. The Blueberry is kinda lengthy and has more Sativa characteristics so I find it easy to manipulate. The Purple Kushs growth is definitely stunted from my mistakes and its Indica traits make it harder to move around since its so compact. Do you think the plant is compact because its getting too much light ? I’ve also set up a GoPro time-lapse, it takes photos every 60 seconds at 4K so by the end of the grow everyone can see my mistakes. :(

What would cause my leaves to droop. I know it could be under-watering or over-watering. I'm growing in Coco. Could it be caused from anything else ? My light possibly ?

Hi @Autofeather! Your light is not responsible for this. Heat + high relative humidity usually lead to these symptoms. If your day temp is 26°C, you may need to decrease it by a few degrees (22-23°C would be perfect). Regarding your waterings, you must apply a wet-dry cycle, even in coco, your medium should never be too wet nor too dry, but it should alternate between those states. I think you slightly overwatered your medium in an already wet environment, as a result your plants are having hard times to breath and sweat. Just hold on your waterings until you feel the top of the container is dry. Unplug your humidifier for a few days until they recover and show healthy leaves. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

start at the first set of leaves, works better the earlier the start the better the results. consider using something quite heavy like a metal garden hook to thread it through so it stays put and wont be moved by the plant (yes they are surprisingly strong!). so you want to thread the seedling through a metal garden hook then basically keep the rest of the leaves (that will turn into stems for flowers) down as well ... you're right on time to FIMM or top or flux by the way - hope you do well here because down the line you may be rewarded ! good luck ! 🚀

Are you sure you have a P deficiency? The symptoms of phosphorous deficiency are dark / metallic blue patches on lower leaves. On the other hand potassium (K) deficiency looks like uneven yellowing with rust spots on lower leaves. Is that what you see on the lower leaves? Cause I can't spot that on the pictures; what I see is purpling leaves due senescence or autumn color effect. The former happens when the plant is close to its end, the later is a technique that removes nitrogen from the feed in mid flowering, forcing the plant to use its stores, when done right, it results in yellow / red / purple leaves that looks like plants during autumn. Autos usually takes between 8 to 10 weeks so I believe that what you are seeing is a plant that's close to harvest and so its consuming its reserves.

yes you do have Phosphorous and Potassium deficiencies, but that doesnt mean you should harvest now. You can check the trichomes to see if the plant is ready, using a 40x minimum magnifier , cloudy or white means THC is present, clear means not ready yet and amber means you'll have more of a couch lock effect. otherwise you can check the pistills to see if you're ready, you're looking for something like 70/80% brown pistils. So no you're not ready to harvest, and you should probably add some PK and chelation agent for a week maybe two before a two week flush... sorry for the bad news, but it's the truth ! hope this helps ! 🚀

Its like in autumn the leaves are colouring, The chlorophyll turns away( consumed by the plant) and the regular colour appears a mix of orange and yello, and later its brown and the leaves dies. Your plant comes to the end of his lifecircle and thats how it looks like. kepp the track you ar going, she will be ready soon (10-14 days)

I swear, we ordered the same seeds from Canuk Seeds. Blueberry. Purple Kush. I also have Lemon Skunk. Following your grows. Interested in how your Purple Kush comes out.

@Autofeather, dont fear the humidity to much, it has been a hardcore issue for me the whole grow, and her buds are still coming out nice and dense, or at least in my limited experience. Agreed on the side branching, she needs space. She looks like a rectangle in my 20" x 30" tent. I can only imagine how much I am losing that could get so much more light. Wish I had room for any LST on her but that was just not happening. Maybe in my new tent when I get it.

@Korinthius, After reviewing your grow again I've definitely concluded we have the same plant. Man the purple kush has some crazy side branching ! I've started LST on it but the stem is so thick it's alot different compared to my Blueberry. The Purple Kush is so dense/ compact I'm interested to see what happens when she flowers. My plant will probably not grow as large as yours- it's not in a DWC and shes having to go a week or so with low humidity. I'm away from home and can't fill up the humidifier. 😭

@Autofeather,Depending on the size of your tent, it may not. Mine does not, thats for sure. Just left on her own, She can easily utilize an area of 3x3 to grow, which is my plan for her next grow. I want to see how much she can put out with the right space. My current tent is 20"x36" and she is looking very rectangular.

Didn’t you harvest a bit soon? Did they really went from seed to harvest in 9 weeks? That would be crazy fast.. Hope you enjoy your smoke!

@CoastGrower, The trichomes looked cloudy and had a few amber ones. I'm sure I could have went longer but my house stunk and I was going in vacation. 😂

@@@Athos, I sure hope you're right. I've been kinda following along with Mr. Canucks grows on YouTube and his leaves change color but i'm not sure if the lower ones fall off. I don't have uneven yellowing or rust spots on the leaves. I have lowered the temperature at night and the humidity has dropped dramatically. According to the seed provider it takes 7-9 weeks of flowering. I have no idea when they start their "flowering time average" but if its when the white pistols shoot out I'd be at 6 weeks and a couple days. I took those photos yesterday and today its looks like around 60 percent of the pistols are orange and the trichromes are starting to become cloudy. I would agree that the plant is not ready for harvest quite yet.
