TUESDAY 2/19: Tomorrow I will harvest C4 #4 (pinky) and flush everybody else except the Diesel, Northern Lights, and WW#11. It will be CC#6's last flush and everybody else's first. I didn't have an opportunity to take any photos today, but will update tomorrow. WEDNESDAY: Today I flushed CC#6 for the last time and have her under a UVB until she's dry and ready for a day of darkness. I flushed C4 #3(purp), CC#4, CC#5, and White Widows #9 and #10 for the first time. I did a photo sesh on everybody that got flushed...supah sexy!😋 I watered the NL, Diesel, and WW#11 with a half-gallon each including calimagic, bud candy, terpinator, and a little cha ching THURSDAY: I harvested C4 #4 today (pinky)..she had a full day of darkness, so there should have been no uptake at all in the xylum layer. Heavy, stinky buds! I'm hoping she comes in over 65g. I hope that the Diesel's foliage holds up long enough for her to finish strong. The combination of calcium deficiency and light burn really did a number on her... I rotated CC#6 so her backside gets intense UVB rays too. Seeing empty space in my flowering tent makes me sad😟...normally I would have had some new seedlings to take the harvested plant's space, but I'm a couple weeks behind schedule...😖 FRIDAY: I moved CC#6 into the dark. SATURDAY: I harvested CC#6 today. I think she'll finish at about 50g. She's pretty heavy for such a short plant. I flushed CC#4, CC#5, WW#10, WW#11, C4#3 for the last time today...a few days to dry out and get UVB blasted, a day in the dark, and they are done.👍 WW#9 and WW#10 are under the UVB today. I fed the NL, WW#11, and the Diesel with about 3/4 gallon each including cha ching and heavy bembe, bud candy, and terpinator. SUNDAY: I'll be busy tomorrow with life, and I'm not gonna have time to trim up 5 plants on Tuesday, so I went ahead and harvested White Widow#11 (the runt) today She'll finish at around an ounce...maybe a little less...but she was very sticky and stinky. MONDAY: I harvested CC#4 and CC#5 today. I'll do C4#3 and WW#9 tomorrow. NL, WW#10, and the Diesel need water, but ran out of time today...will do it tomorrow. All 8 drying baskets are full of bud, and I still have 5 plants left to go!👌

Grow Questions

I have a question about what the general consensus is on calculating final dry weights and factoring the amount of light used and square feet taken to grow plants. Do you weigh with stems or without? Total light in tent and total space in tent divided by # of plants?

I don't go for contest. And my stash is way to much already. So, my dry weight is without the stem. I worry about rot, so I dried harder than most people would. My ratio of wet to dry weight is somewhere between 7:1 to 9:1. Its depend on the plant structure. And that is from strains, the type of additives, and the season.

yeah man exactly , so for example in a 4x4 i can fit 9 5 gallon pots so when i harvest my 5 gallon plant i divide the sq.ft.-age by the number of plants in this case 9, total light used is the largest amount of W used in my case 600W. Wet weight is basically everything on the branch, dry weight is without stems and manicured bud. The site calculates the rest for you. hope this helps bro ! 🚀

I wish questions could be more verbose, and that it was possible to reply to proposed answers to grower questions... I'll just do it here: This is how I've been doing it: I wait to do the dry weight until it is fully dry and de-stalked. I only weigh the smoke-able flowers and the stems within them, though I do like to leave at least an inch of stalk as a "handle." When inputting harvest data, I've just been putting the total light in the garden. But I put the actual number of square feet that the 2 or 3 or however many plants required. That gave me wonky/skewed wattages per plant numbers..and thereby, grams per square feet numbers. But now I'm thinking this is better: Lights: Total light wattage divided by number of plants in that particular diary Grow Room: Only the actual space the plants in that particular diary required For example, if my total wattage is 1010w, and I have 13 plants sharing that light, it would be 78w per plant. If there are 3 plants in the diary, then that would be 78w x 3 = 234w Right?? Or, maybe it would be better to just count the total wattage of light directly over the plants included in a diary? For example, I have bar lights spaced about 4 inches apart...each bar being a total of 85w. 3 plants are getting direct light from 3 bars, for a total of 255w...which seems closer to the truth.

@Silverback_Guerilla, I feel ur pain that’s a horrific turnout. Was running 99.1% myself for the last 2 years... until recently. Guess luck catches up with us all. Best of it to ya dude. 🤞🤞🤞

@TheBudWhisperer, same here man...in about the last 10 days, I've floated 25 beans and only had 5 emerge...kinda freakin' out...i really need at least 12 plants or I'll be angry and sad for the next 70 days...

@Silverback_Guerilla, IMO - total light wattage for the space, divided by the total number of plants within it. That’s the figure I’d be working with if I went that in depth on my lights. That said, my primary concern (mainly due to a smaller grow space) is efficiency in terms of yield per sq/ft. I can afford the electric bills but I can’t afford to have dudd beans. Which is, ironically, a slight problem I’m having right now!!! 😂

@Stick, Thanks for your response! You said this: Total dried product weight ÷ Total lamp wattage = Yield per watt of light What I don't understand is how/where you get the total though... So, for example, if in my current grow I have 12 plants in the tent, comprised of 5 strains in a total of 3 diaries... One diary will show .3 g/w, another shows .28 g/w, and the other shows .32 g/w Do I just add up each of those values to determine the actual yield per watt for the entire grow? Or is it smarter to just divide the actual draw wattage in the entire tent by the total number of grams from the entire grow? 655g divided by 1010w = .65 grams per watt....right?? That kinda sucks, huh?

@CRiSPrGrow, The manufacturer of the lights I bought claims they can produce greater than 2 grams per watt, but I'm betting that's with heavy CO2 supplementation and less than 12" from the canopy (> 1392 uMol m*/s) Whereas, at 15"-18", I'm only getting about 1200 uMol m*/s..and with the CO2 levels I average, I can't really move the plants any closer without burning them... So, then, my current production bottleneck is in maintaining a high enough ambient level of CO2 to be able to lower my lights to 12" or less so that my plants can fully utilize all that glorious light and not be adversely affected by the radiant heat produced by the fixture... Another challenge...

@Silverback_Guerilla, it doesnt suck that much ! I mean if you werent a light freak lol you'd have less draw and a "better" ratio 😂

@TheBudWhisperer, Breeding wasn't in the plans at all...just happened to have a few sneaky nanners spread their genetics around my very windy tent..normally I'd be pissed, but I'm actually kinda anxious to see the results of these hybrids. 👍💪🙏 Just gotta keep a close eye on them all the way through because there's at least a 33% chance each plant could also pop nanners...

LMFAO yeah ph pens break all the time same with the EC pens... that's why i just use ph strips and ordered 12 EC pens for 0.80 each lol... i know why they break, i know what i should do so they dont break, i know i'm gonna break them by accident anyway lol

@Freddd, Ya, I usually do that very thing, but sometimes when I'm having to mix up several different batches of nutes at a time I'll get lazy and just trust new tech before verifying it with old tech... My new pen is kickass, though. I just dip it in the 4.0 and 7.0 and if it's not on the money, re-calibration just takes a minute as long as the temp of the solution isn't too cold.
Freddd
Freddd
@Silverback_Guerilla, The indicator liquid is very accurate between 5.8 and 6.2. Pale neutral yellow is 6, very slight green tint 6.2, very slight warm tint 5.8 if I get a strange pH reading with my pen and the indicator solution is right, it means I need to recalibrate the pen!

@CRiSPrGrow, I grow with Biobizz Lightmix and Hesi Nutrients, I dont test any PH or EC. They even say it is unnecessary testing it in soil.. I have not run into any problems so far ( 1.5 years in this setup now)

@TheBudWhisperer, Now that this has happened twice with this strain, and considering that the environment and care were much better than the previous attempt with it, I'm a little less in love with it. But that flavor!!! I guess it's just so desperate to get laid it will go that extra mile...I've been there 😁
