Name on the tag is wrong, it should be Island Sweet Skunk, this is from Next Generation Seeds, they aren't listed here as a breeder so I put it under Custom.
Growing much slower then the last couple girls we grew, but it's consistent across all the new girls. Fairly certain it's because of the cooler temps and lower humidity now that it's fall and we don't have the super warm nights and screaming hot days.
This is suppose to be a "classic" strain from BC, picked up the seeds on a summer trip. I know nothing about this breeder and they have no record of them on here. I'm actually very excited for this girl and her sister BC Blueberry, it's like buying a "mystery bag" of candy when you were a kid.... it might be awesome or it might be garbage you never know but it's exciting to play the game.
Got moved up into her forever pot. She is doing really well, the balance between growth and thickness seems perfect. She's not as fast as the BC Blueberry but is thinker, not as thick as the Bubba Kush but way longer. Very nice balance, I have high hopes for her.
So far this is the star of the 4 growing right now. She is thick, big leaves, grows fast, and is happy AF. I have "high" hopes for this girl producing a lot of premo bud.
She gets bigger and bigger every week. What is most surprising is the really strong sweet smell out of her. Last week for the blurples and then she'll be moved under the quantum lights.

We watered with rain water for a week and saw deficiency of the micro nutes come in. So we have added some more to the feeding and the girls bounced back after a few days.
This Island Sweet Skunk is doing amazing, very nice balance of growth, but without it being too weak or leggy. It's the perfect amount of growth and thickness so far. Huge expectations for this girl, she should give us a big strong yield that will knock hopefully knock us on our ass.
It's been about 3 weeks since we harvested grow 1. We've been hard at work in those 3 weeks cleaning, upgrading and rearranging the grow room. The girls have lived in the house during this time. Now they are back outside in the grow room with a new floor, updated ventilation, among other updates/upgrades.
Love this girl, she is my super star. Next week sending this to flower and I can wait to see her explode into a sea of frosted tops.
She makes massive fan leafs that look so perfect and just feels like such a perfect girl.
Week 1 of flowering..... we are starting the final sprint to the finish line!!!!
F1 she was super dense with leaves and so I went through like Thanos and took all her fan leaves and a few branches. She looked very weak and limp after the mass amount of leaves were taken (Sorry don't have a before picture but she was more dense then the F5 pictures).
Cranked the dehumidifier to max and dropping the humidity in the room as low as we can go (30-35% room and 40% in tent). Need to keep air flow going through her and humidity down so we don't get bud rot this time around. It's pissing rain hard outside right now and we've the outside weather meter has been at 98% RH for several weeks now.
She's a little PIGGY!!! loves to eat and be watered. She was getting 6L water and 6L feed @ 1000ppm = 12L total, but I was getting barely any run off so I've upped it to 6L water and 9L feed at 1000ppm and I now have run off to test, and it's coming out at 580ppm @ 6.5, right in a great window. 420ppm drop and the PH is perfect.
She's loving live and look how fast she bounced bad between the F1 chop and F5. F6 I went in and took out a bunch of lower/shadowed secondary branches and some fan leaves to help air flow again. She also lost some branches that were pushing in on the Sour Jacks territory.
Turned the lights up this week, she's now getting around 220w, the Blueberries is more leggy and is forcing the light higher up in the tent then I'd like for her. Light maxes out at 240w and I'd like to bump it up there, especially since it's higher then I'd like, but it all depends if the blueberry can handle the extra without having issues.
I really could have run this 4x4 tent with just the Island Sweet Skunk and the Blueberry, hell another few weeks of veg and I think the ISS or Blueberry could have taken over the entire tent.
Smells awesome in there, very sweet.
Trying out some Bud Candy this time around. See if it'll help with flavour and/or aroma with these girls.
F9 pictures are of a post prune again. She grows thick and fast. 2-3 days after a prune she doesn't look like you did anything to her.
Canopy is really nice and flat, it's like a carpet of buds and leaves on the top and all the light hitting her area is being absorbed. This week she constantly got a little bit of trimming of lower buds and leaves every day or two. The undercarriage is nice and clean with good airflow and all the energy is going to the buds on top.
Lights got cranked to full 240w this week, and she's loving it. Totally can handle the intensity and happy as hell.
Increase the bud candy to 1ml/L, bottle recommends 2ml/l but I'm gonna work up to that I think, if I even take it that far.
Gave her a mini-flush on F12 followed by a feed. I did it for the other girls and so I figured might as well do it for her. Her run off's were in the 500-600 range before this week and during this week but I thought I'd just be safe and do one. She dropped to the 400's very quickly but then had a bounce back up into the high 600's during the flush. I think I hit a salt pocket or a nutes pocket stuck in the soil somewhere. Got it out now and hoping she'll preform even better now.... although I can't imagine how, she is blowing me away with how well she is doing.
She looks sad after the pruning but bounces back so fast and seems to love being shaped, trimmed, and trained. Love this girl.
No taco'ing of the leaves, No nutes deficiencies on the leaves. Strong growth. So far she's happy as can be.
Removed the "Grow" from the nute mix, all bloom now. Increased the dosage of KoolBloom a little.
Slowing down on the pruning, just trying to maintain the canopy and stop the larger fan leaves from blocking light on adjacent buds.
She's feeding well and the stretch has definitely slowed/stopped by the end of the week. Her stretch wasn't bad at all, I actually expected a lot more stretch out of this girl, something closer to what the blueberry did.
Lights are a little higher then I'd like for her, the Blueberry next to her stretch so much I had to raise the light and the light above the 2 girls share the same frame so I can't drop it any lower.
Lots of white hairs now, she's budding hard and doing well. No signs of problems on the leaves.
Fingers crossed.
My Island Girl is doing so well. She is really starting to get frosty, At the end of the week just taking a few fan leaves off that were casting shadows on buds get my figures all sticky. I didn't even touch the bud itself, the fan leaves are getting all frosty down their fingers.
The branch stretch has definitely stopped now and the buds are starting the swell. Buds are still relatively small but it's only day 28 on a beautiful girl that the breeder says to harvest on day 70! 42 more days of bud growth and swelling.... OMG I'm so excited and a bit fearful at the same time. I really want to make it to the end without any issues.
The stock looks thick and healthy, the branches are strong and firm. I can't see her needing a scrog.
I'm a little on the fence about the amount of cola's she is growing. I'm pondering if I should removing some cola's in certain area's to make more room. My main concern is the remaining 42 days of bud swelling and growth might result in the cola's growing into each other. That defiantly wouldn't be good, removing them now would be better for her and help the remaining buds grow bigger and stronger. Remove them later when they start touching wouldn't be as idea..... but that is assuming they will grow that big and I just don't know if they will..... To cut or to keep?????
With the limitations of a 4x4 tent and the vigor that the Island Sweet Skunk and her sister Blueberry have been growing I decided to I needed to take some action. Either a culling of Buds needed to happen (that suggestion quickly received and high pitched 9 year old girl ‘NOOOO’ scream from the peanut gallery) or I needed to make more room for my phat diva girls. I have a 2nd tent that is a 2’x4’ tent that’s been sitting empty for months and I moved Ms. Sour Jack and Ms. Bubba Kush over to it. I repositioned Ms. Island Sweet Skunk and Ms. Blueberry so they could take advantage of the extra space on F31 and was able to flex and tie them down better on F34 as they got use to the new area.
Ms. Innocence Sweet Skunk has now got a little more light above her, and I was able to lower the lights a bit (but not as much as I’d like because of the Ms. Blueberries height). I tied down the outer branches more to that they spread open and made a bit more room. Did my best to try and get the buds a little further apart, but she’s a strong girl and there isn’t too much flex. It is definitely better.
We are at F35 of an estimated F70 (says the breeder) so we should be exactly half way through flowering now. Ms Skunk has the frostiest nuggets and bud leaves I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing. They are covered right to the tips…. It’s the most epic sight I’ve ever seen. The buds are looking very decent and we still have another 35 days to go.
On F35 she got a mini-flush, ran 21L of water through her to bring down the PPM runoff that crept up to 650 ppm and try to make sure she isn’t getting any salt build up. This is the 2nd time I’ve done it during flowering (last time was 3 weeks ago). She instantly started dropping and I think it wasn’t necessary, but I’m happy I did it as it doesn’t take long and lets me have a better idea of what her soil condition is like. Plus I have to fly away next week for work, I’ll be away from my girls for 4 straight days and I feel better knowing that they don’t have salt buildup. Luckily my amazing S/O will be home so the girls will be taken care of very well.
Away for most of this week, took picture right before I left on F39 and they are the only picture for this week so there might be a big jump in size (hopefully) to the next weeks pictures.

The girl is strong and doesn’t need any scrog help at all. Still putting effort into pulling her down/open for ventilation and so the buds don’t grow into each other.
She’s doing well when I left and my S/O says she’s doing really well when we chat.
Lots of time left on her as she’s estimated 70 day harvest by the breeder but I’ve been told that she can be up to or even over 84 days, so we’ll have to see.
Took some close up shots, she’s still got at lot of clear or partially clear tricombs so we aren’t anywhere near the flush or harvest yet. But it’s good to watch just for reference.
Excited to get home for flower week 7 and see how she’s doing.
Our Sweet Island Girl is fattening up. Branches are very strong and have no issue holding the weight. We are still running wires down to pull her open to keep good airflow between the buds.
Microscope shots show that she is about 70% cloudy and 30% clear on the tricombs. She is suppose to be 70 days to harvest so that is still 3 weeks away, and the tricombs look like they could take a good 2-3 weeks before it’s ready to harvest so every looks disco right now.
Still giving her full strength nutes and am planning to continue that next week as well. Then I’ll taper it off for her 2nd last week and flush her last week.
Super happy with this girl, hope she continues to make more bud and breaks the scale with the weight of her harvest.
Our Sweet Island girl lost her room mate at the end of the week, Ms Blueberry “developed” early and has all the boys in her class drooling over her. Sweet Island girl is a bit jealous but she just blooms a little later and all the boys will rush to her in a few weeks.
Her buds continue to develop and get fatter, she likes to stack these buds up and they are starting to become little monsters. I love it, the thick xmas tree’s, fat on the bottom and tapering to a nice point. Opening the tent is like getting sprayed in the face by the freshest skunk smell that is just amazing.
Sweet Island girl got a flush on F53, the ppm’s were starting to climb in the run off so I decided to give her a good flush to make sure she doesn’t get nute lockout.
This was the last week for her at higher strength feed, next week is low feed followed by a week of water only. My Island girl is just 2 weeks away from getting harvested.

She just continues to grow and bulk up. She has amazed me every step of the way. Her smell is great and I can’t say enough good things about her.
When I move the my Sour Jack back into the tent one of the cola’s accidentally got pulled on and I had to put a bamboo stick in to help support her. She’s actually been very very strong, there has only been the need to support 1 legitimate cola due to weight so far.
The start of this week she still wasn’t really having any amber, so I was giving her some reduced feed. On day F63 she was finally starting to show more amber on her and the hairs have really started to orange in finally. Next week she is going to get all water as I figure I’ll probably harvest her is 7-10 days.
Countdown to the chop has now started….
My Island girl has been getting only water for the past week. Wasn’t expecting her to turn colour like she has and wow is it beautiful to see. The colours in the leaves look amazing with the buds glistening with tricombs in the middle. She is much denser and the buds are more packed in then the Blueberry we harvested a 3 weeks ago. The Blueberry was much more leggy, the Island girl is more compact and I suspect that she won’t be far off of Ms. Blueberries dry weight.
With switching to water only the run off’s PPM measurement very quickly dropped and she has drastically turned colour quickly. We have some bell peppers and sunflowers next to her, you can see the drastic difference in colour from just 7 days.
She has a pungent smell of sweet skunk to her, really lives up to her name. The friends that have seen here are very much a love it or hate it on the smell front. Me and my S/O personally love the smell of her, I usually don’t like the “skunk” smell but it’s a very fresh smell to it so I really like it.
F70 will be her last day of light, she had 48 hours of darkness then harvested at day 72. Next update will be the harvest data with some opinions of her smoke.

My Sweet Island Girl is done and I couldn’t be happier with her growth, yield, smoke, taste… everything about her has been a joy.
The smoke is really nice, it hits hard and hits fast. The taste is very light, citrus, sweet, and fresh, everyone will like this smoke. It is a “skunk” and has some skunk smell to her but it’s not overwhelming like a lot of other skunks I’ve met before…. more like a “skunk light”
It’s a sativa and the high is definitely sativa, this isn’t the strain for indica lovers. But if you like taking a big rip and then weeding your garden for the afternoon or washing your car this is definitely a great contender for making the task more enjoyable. However don’t be blazing this stuff before bed, it definitely will give you insomnia.
She made BIG FAT FROSTY COLAS!!! We saved twelve cola’s that are between 12g - 16.5g each, put them into jars and have been sending out the whole colas to friends and family. The colas that are under 15g we put a extra bud in along with it to make sure it’s above 15g for them. None of these people grow and all of them are loving the whole cola’s. They get a kick out of cutting them apart to smoke, its been a real hit.
We have shared this with some friends and family, the friends that are use to strong weed are very impressed and happy with it. The others that aren’t use to strong weed are now timid of it after their first try. This stuff will knock you on your ass.
Our biggest cola was 19.3g dried (in picture) but was too wide to fit through the top of our biggest jar, so we had to cut it down to fit :(
The breeder lists the THC content of this as 23%, it is stronger then the BC Blueberry (from the same breeder) and that was listed by the breeder as 20% and we had it lab tested with the results coming in at 19.7%. So there is a fairly good chance this stuff is in the 22-23% range. Hoping to get it lab tested next month.
The buds themselves are nice and big, very sparkly, but medium density. The BC Blueberry has denser buds then the Island girl, but these buds are still very nice in the density department, just not as much as that epic Blueberry.

THC delta-9 = 0.288
THCa = 23.9
Total THC = 21.2%
Breeders usually quote THCa or THCa plus THC delta 9 as their THC levels. The breeder quoted it as 23% THC, so 23.9 THCa is right in line with that (even a bit better). But the actual THC is 21.2% (THCa * 0.877
THC delta-9), and although that is a bit lower then the 23% they quoted, I know they quote the higher numbers all the time to make themselves look good. 21.2% is very good, and I'm happy with the potency of this strain.
So we have had this strain for a couple months and I thought I'd do an update on the strain. It is very potent and can put you on your ass, however it is a peaky high, it comes on strong and goes away quickly. It doesn't have the rolling waves of high like some other strains. She is a sativa and is had to sleep on, don't smoke it any time you want to get some rest. She is a skunk and if you like skunks you will love her, but for some skunk just isn't their taste and you best no grow this strain.
Really like her, I give her a very solid 9/10, 1 point off for a peaky high, other then that she hit everything else out of the park.
Island Girl grew big and thick, was a bit worried about it being too leggy as NGS (Next Generation Seeds) warns about topping it to much as it can get branchy and leggy but she preformed excellent. Only needed to support 1 cola and that was because I bent it down accidentally while moving another pot into the tent. Besides that she wanted to pull out every pin and pull off every wire, strong girl with big heavy colas.
She ate a lot and wanted a lot of water and we gave it to her. She got just a tiny bit of nutes burn on the leaf tips. After issues with our first grow we changed a bunch of things around the grow room and Ms. Island Girl had and easy time. The temperature and humidity stayed in ideal condition for the entire grow. I had no issues with growing or disease but then again the conditions were near perfect so she didn’t have to fed off anything.
I included a roots comparison picture of the other 2 plants I harvested that grew along side her at the same time in the same space. You can see how the roots of the Blueberry (18.7 oz harvested) compares to the one from the Island Sweet Skunk (13.6 oz) and Sour Jack (5.3 oz). All 3 of these had the same veg time and the same nutes.
Island Girls roots were from top to bottom, edge to edge but in the centre of the bottom it was mostly just dirt, she concentrated her roots on the outside edges. She made a type of upside down cone pattern with her roots like this / spending out form the top middle and going out to the edges and leaving the middle column of dirt fairly sparse.
I bought a humidifier for drying the bud this batch, it has a humidity sensor so you can program what humidity you want it to stay at and it holds there. Island Girl dried over 6 days with humidity at 55% and a fan moving the air. Coming out of drying the bud was very good to smoke, not harsh at all and tasted.smelled great.
The heaviest cola coming off my Island Girl wet trimmed was 92.4 and after it finished drying and had the stem cut down it weight 19.3g. I have a breakdown of her in pictures above and the drying.

@MovingOn, Thanks man! As for the seed companies I honestly don't know, I've read some stuff about Next Gen, DJ Short, BC Bud Depot, Canuk, JOTI, and JAH. There are some.... disagreements.... about whom worked where.... who has original genetics.... some are stollen or not pure etc, etc.
Honestly I don't really care, I don't have any affiliation or loyalty to any of them. I have some Next Gen seeds, Canuk seeds, and some BC Bud Depot seeds. I've been very impressed with the Next Gen seeds so far, but with that being said I just had the first few vapes from the Canuk Northern Lights and the high is fucking amazing (maybe I just got a great pheno, I don't know).
My next grow I'll have two BC Bud Depot strains (God Bud and Tangie Cookies) and one of the Next Gen strains (Dynamite). Really I'm just trying stains out to find what I like and don't like.
@stevieb21,Thanks, she's a very strong girl. Her and my Blueberry are going nuts, yet right next to them the Bubba Kush seems to struggle. I'm new to growing MJ and I don't fully understand the strains and pheno's yet, but clearly they can be very dramatic.
