TommyBVRSA75 Compared to the development of the Auto Mimosa, the Blackberry Gum Auto from Seedstockers impressed me mainly because of its genetic strength.
As I've mentioned, in summer the big battle is at the beginning and in how to successfully germinate the seeds under the conditions I have.
I resorted to methods that I don't usually use for germination, like the wet towel... but in summer, the wet towel isn't very effective in heat conditions.
It was necessary to use the method of soaking seeds in water and, with the initial root sprout emerging, immediately transfer it to a jiffy peat that helps retain moisture in the best way. So in summer, the combined method has yielded the best results.
As I said, the Blackberry Gum Auto from Seedstockers has impressed me with its vitality and push in sprouting and development, and in fewer days than the Auto Mimosa. I see it thriving, and with that push it shows, I'm sure that next week it will be ready for watering with nutrients for the vegetative stage.
As I've told you, the automatic season I'm in will always rely on organic nutrients and a light cycle of 20/4 to get the best out of the autos.
For now, it's very important to balance the alternation between the already sprouted and developing seedlings and those that are still in the sprout phase.
So for now, we need to keep the dimmer at no more than 90% and opt for smaller waterings multiple times throughout the day, instead of one or two waterings spread out over the day.
May God Jah protect all the grower brothers and keep us safe from all dangers.
420 forever...
TommyBVRSA75 Summer... always summer, and in the southern Iberian latitudes, with highs of 40ºC and those "tropical" nights where temperatures don't drop below 30ºC... quite a challenge.
From the start, the summer "autoflowering" season is undoubtedly a real challenge for growers, and I'll explain some of the routines you need to have to juggle variables that are very complicated to combine.
Let me explain:
Factor 1 - Autoflowering and, of course, light cycles that are never less than 18/6 (and I'm at 20/4). With the 400 watts illuminating the 0.65m² (80x80x180) of the grow cabinet, keeping the temperature during the light period above 30ºC is quite a challenge. The Mars Hydro TS 1000 panels (two) and the TLED 26 w supports (two for growth and two for flowering) definitely heat up the environment. It's true that the ballasts of the TS1000 panels can be removed from the panel and placed outside the cabinet, which helps prevent the temperature from rising to "death zone" levels above 35ºC, and it's quite an achievement to keep the cabinet environment above 30ºC, which necessarily leads to enormous stress for the young plants at the beginning of the "vegetative" stage.
Resolution: Continuous watering throughout the day with a spray bottle, a lot over the root area and even foliar watering, and essential, the use of diluted Kelp solution, which provides mannitol, gibberellins, and cytokinins that are crucial to counteract the high doses of stress that the "young ones" suffer.
Factor 2: High temperatures in every sense, starting with the temperature of the watering water; then the temperature during the light period and even in the dark hours; relative humidity that mitigates temperature conditions above 50%-60%, but throughout the week and living in a Mediterranean climate area, the famous "levante" (winds from the Strait of Gibraltar area, pushing the warm air from North Africa over the sea and raising relative humidity to over 80% even in summer) means that high temperatures combined with high humidity cause rapid dehydration in living beings - whether plants or animals - and with temperatures even at night above 30ºC and 80% humidity, the loss of water in biological systems, due to "common" sweating - for example, humans in these conditions experience the phenomenon where even minutes after showering and drying off, they are already sweating profusely and losing water.
Resolution: These conditions can only be countered with hydration and abundant hydration, hence the need for the initial "vegetative" stage in cannabis, which is to provide water, water, and more water, as many times a day as it is noticeable that the substrate, when you place your finger to understand the need for water, feels warm; the substrate's moisture is lost in a few hours, and thus, spraying is done so that the heated substrate, which loses moisture rapidly, can always be kept wet and so that the system can have enough water to allow for watering at the upper level of the plant and, of course, to also allow for the development of the root system. It is of utmost importance that the substrate is wet and not just damp, because if it is only damp and at the temperature the substrate is at, literally the grow can "cook," and root death can happen in an instant.
Note... as you can see, the heat on the substrate in connection with humidity is so strong that on the surface of the substrate and in the area of contact between the atmosphere and the substrate, algae can form in just a few hours, and if you look at the photos, you'll see that layer of green algae stuck to the surface of the substrate, so what remains to be done is to stir the top layer of the substrate where the algae are created due to the combination of soil moisture and heat and light radiation. Quite a phenomenon.
Factor 3 - Tremendous difficulty in germinating seeds, and I'll explain what I've been trying to do. I had a group of bulk seeds that were the typical low-cost seeds usually given away with seed purchases from banks. The genetics are always questionable, and it's a shame about the conservation method used for shipping. I kept them for at least two years in a fridge I adapted so that the cold wouldn't produce humidity, allowing for the best conservation conditions. And what I can tell you, so you can understand the differences between quality banks and bulk seeds from online stores, is that in about ten attempts (i.e., ten seeds placed in germination using the glass of water method), only four sprouted, and notably, the seeds from reputable banks - Mr.Hide Seeds, Barney's Farm, and Seedstockers - have germinated, and those are the three seedlings/young plants that are already developing this season... all the bulk seeds did not germinate, and one that did germinate from Buddha Seeds had a defect in its root area and the tip, and as such, I didn't take a photo, but about a week ago, there was a hint of a seedling with a tiny pair of initial leaves and dried cotyledons... so just out of foolishness and wanting to insist on something vain, I kept it because I'm sure it won't have a future.
Resolution: if there are seeds that cost a fortune and banks take care to package them in the best conditions, it's easy to understand that even if a bulk seed germinates and we end up with a pleasant surprise, nothing compares to bank seeds, and no matter how much is said about the most commercial aspect of the business, it becomes evident that you pay for it and then the results are different, and I give you the case of what has sprouted from Seedstockers and the Blackberry Gum Auto, which didn't need to be placed in a glass of water, wet towel, or alternative method. A Jiffy peat with the exact amount of water and humidity, and after three days, the Blackberry Gum was already a vigorous seedling with the push of a very good strain.
Factor 4: As for development, simple, and since the diary is about the Blackberry Gum Auto, there are the photos to show you how well the strain is developing. Excellent genetics, a push that anticipates a wonderful grow, and of course, balanced and quality growth.
Resolution: I have already started with the organic nutrition of the new Biobizz and its Juju Royal, and as I mentioned before, due to stress factors, the "must" use of Kelp solution as a balance to abiotic stress has leveled out growth, and it's gaining notable strength. As I mentioned before, this summer's autoflowering growth proposal will be done with a 20/4 cycle and only with organic nutrition, and things will be done satisfactorily.
To my fellow growers, always asking the God Jah to help us in our crops, to protect us from dangers, and to make our "ladies" happy, ultimately rewarding us for all the care and love we put into things.
420 Always and until next week!... a hug
TommyBVRSA75 To wrap up the comments, nothing less than the one that impressively stands out. The Blackberry Gum Auto is a marvel; a wonder in terms of genetics and overall quality, one of the best seen.
First, after about 20 days, a wonderful aroma emerges that indicates the complexity of terpenes present in this lady.
We are almost at the point of starting to train her and guide her through the SCROG net, and that's because she grows solidly with impressive genetic vitality and drive. This is a sativa in motion that already has all the arguments of what the development of automatic genetics is doing, which are incredible autos in terpenes and THC.
In the already very strong and pungent aroma, there’s no doubt that this Blackberry is superlative, and then the structure that day by day reveals itself hints that it could become a complete grow overall.
As for her needs, the plan followed with the others is the "champion team." An incredible substrate preparation before cultivation; followed by a superlative organic rooting solution like Raimil from Cannaboom; then the use of diluted kelp solution to manage stress through mannitol, cytokinins, and gibberellins, and to counteract the extremely high temperatures and light intensity, and then the standout surprise of the organic Juju Royal from Biobizz, which, more than just simplicity, delivers with wonderful quality.
And everything I’ve mentioned is always based on fertigation, with changes in irrigation mixing Grow Soldier with Green Mystic, and in foliar feeds, each once a week, with the diluted kelp solution and Green Mystic, and foliar use, combined with watering every three days with the mix of Juju Royal compounds.
May Jah God grant us protection and his daily teachings, and may we humbly learn them and give thanks.
420 always, brothers, and see you next week! Enjoy the growth that the diary shows you in the last week.
TommyBVRSA75 Another one of the awesome "autos" of the season with very solid and stable growth.
Blackberry Gum is an indica like a "pine cone" with a perfect central cola structure and an internodal growth that will be perfect for some stunning buds, and it's easy to understand this by the end of the vegetative stage.
The onset of flowering heralds a grow with spaces that will be essential for the quality of what is anticipated, and it's easy to see that in terms of terpenes and still in the vegetative stage, it's incredible with its very orange aroma, meaning it has a sweet citrus defined in its leaves, which has a lot to do with its genetics.
Additionally, it has been notable in the first weeks the multiplication of very wide and long primary leaves, which has led to this week, according to the arrangement in the SCROG net, starting to proceed with the defoliation of the base primary leaves, which has provided space for light penetration in the interior area and also contributes oxygen to the contact area of the substrate, just like the others, the organic nutrients from Juju Royal are providing top-notch nutrition.
As for the changes, it has already started the contribution for the flowering phase that is not far from occurring, so the spray bottle application of kelp solution and Lacalva Stress is just right for controlling heat stress factors that summer tends to create in grows.
The watering schedule is every three days, and with Flowa Bloom, there's a new variable that involves a decrease in pH, as the central idea would be to maintain pH levels between 6.2 (in vegetative) and increasing as a pH limit of 6.6 (at the end of flowering), but the combination of the three compounds from Juju Royal has the reverse character of lowering pH, and instead of regulating pH by adding Biobizz pH Up (which being organic is not usually my favorite way to raise pH), simply because there are organic PK contributions that are very necessary for flowering, they provide more balance in the growth of pH levels than introducing Biobizz pH Up.
As for the rest, and as the development of automatic indica strains continues to grow - specifically this Blackberry Gum and the Critical Kush that you can read about in its diary, which applies the entire process I have just described.
God Jah always watching over us and giving us wisdom for these challenges, and without a doubt, in summer with high temperatures, it's not so easy for those just starting to manage factors that are crucial for the final goal, and that's because more than the watering tables and instructions often provided by nutrient manufacturers or seed banks, things only move forward if we know how to counteract the need to keep the substrate moist without oversaturating it, and above all, understand how it's possible to have an almost perfect nutrient ratio, not giving, for example, waterings every two to three days, and what should be provided in those waterings should be introduced in small portions many times a day, and that makes you work, stay attentive, and have time to balance the grows. And maybe if summer weren't a vacation time, I wouldn't have created this personal challenge of developing seven grows - but yes, in two phases - the first with the three most advanced grows - Auto Mimosa; Blackberry Gum Auto; and Critical Kush Auto - and the second phase that just started last week - Black Domina Auto; LSD25; Girl Scout Cookies; and Buddha Purple Kush, and this way we'll have time to give the final fattening time to the last ones when the first group has already been harvested.
420 always and a hug to all the brothers!

TommyBVRSA75 Indica explosiveness in all its glory...the Blackberry Gum Auto is a grow with extremely high vigor and a tremendous beauty in its structure with its massive corollas of long leaves and a complex branching that allows for optimal internodal spaces that will correspond to optimal buds.
From day 1, this grow has been super vigorous, presenting a very strong and particular sweet aroma.
Similar to its companions from the first phase, it is a grow with an incredible ability to withstand extremely high temperatures and low humidity, yet it continues to develop impeccably and will surely be a fantastic plant with a solid yield and buds of enormous quality.
Leaving the path of what is desired to God Jah, and despite the fact that today a necessary defoliation has been applied to remove base vampire branches and condition the position of branches in the SCROG net.
Next week, there will be updates...a hug.

TommyBVRSA75 Brothers, here we are once again and I’m feeling such immense joy this season.
The strategy for the autoflowers in such a hot summer coinciding with the vegetative period of my first phase automatic grows has exceeded expectations by a lot, and everything has happened in an unbeatable way.
The option of a SOG (Sea of Green) in two phases - the first with Blackberry Gum Auto, Auto Mimosa, and Critical Kush Auto; in ten-liter pots, organic; with a light coverage for 0.65m² from a set with two Mars Hydro TS 1000 panels (with 150 watts and 2.3 umol) and auxiliary support at the tent's corners with 4 TLED tubes of 51 CMS at 26 watts each (with two for growth and two for flowering) as auxiliaries - which has perfectly allowed for complete coverage at every point in the tent and with a total of 400 watts full spectrum LED for a grow space (80X80X180) and that’s what you can see.
First, an impressive vitality of the grows without any point of deficiency or excess, and with the last week providing what was expected of very strong vertical growth of the grows at the beginning of flowering and the evidence of, in about ten days, a "stretch" that went from around 30 to 55 cms.
As you can see, flowering is already underway and we will continue to provide organic input, so instead of giving full watering of one liter every "two by three"; we will keep rationing the irrigation by spraying, whether fertigation or foliar, each day with a smaller amount of water, so that the high temperatures along with the watering do not cause "root cooking" and thus imbalances.
Moreover... now in flowering, the temperatures have already dropped and with that, the risks of light stress and consequent thermal stress have been greatly reduced.
I feel "re-satisfied" and much so because even in internal and base areas, defoliation did not cause the "customary" halt, especially in autoflowers where if in a cycle of 65 days, defoliation stops it for a week or more, it can later have (and will have) reflections on the volume and quality of the harvest.
As we will understand from the discriminated organic inputs, it is obvious that they are not loaded in all waterings in a "massive" mix, but over the week, almost every day, watering is done using each of the products (one or more in a mix) and always having the base pH as the "north" to what is intended, and from the very beginning, the base conditions are the use of tap water already clean of chlorine and this water is already considered hard with elevated calcium salts, so the use of CalMag has not been necessary.
That said, "silica" pebbles based on Mills have been added (perhaps the only non-organic and mineral thing to give strength to both stems and roots).
It has also been a week of crossing the branches over SCROG knots to achieve perfect management of growth areas, keeping in mind that there will be a maximum of seven grows in this space.
The Blackberry Gum Auto shows indications of an extraordinary indica with a strong Christmas tree structure and as you can see from its internode structure and flowering points, a superlative quality grow is already underway.
God Jah always makes His presence felt and we are right in the middle of the cycle, so the time is still for promoting flowering and filling the internodes for some extra quality buds, and with the terpenes already very strong, the Blackberry Gum Auto has everything to establish itself as a super producer of super weed. Bravo, Seedstockers team, but no less bravo to the folks at Biobizz, Top Crop, Cannabiogen, and everyone else who has come together for something of the highest level.
You have given me all the tools to be clear that I am in an automatic grow that is at a very high level, and I hope it stays that way.
420 always and sending hugs to everyone until next week!

TommyBVRSA75 Finally, entering the final weeks of flowering and already with a noticeable maturation of trichomes and terpenes.
The Blackberry Gum Auto has a very pronounced character of skunk terpenes and aromas from the "Berry" strains (whether they are warm orange and mango aromas).
As you can see, there is a whole range of nutrients that are obviously combined according to each day, always having a logic of balance to now give a very residual amount of nitrogen and focusing on the increase of phosphorus and potassium, and in the most recent weeks, adding soluble mineral powders with authentic PK bombs (both Brutal Buds and Demon-Green from Greendel) that, with extremely high ratios, aim for the fattening and maturation of the buds while maintaining "flowerers" from various brands - all organic like Top Candy, Top Bloom, and Big One from Top Crop; Gold Bloom from Gold Green; Biotonex and Floraboom from Cannaboom; the mix of JujuRoyal with Flowa-Bloom and Green-Mystic, and in the organo-mineral line, the very specific C4 from Mills.
In specific circumstances and as a "classic" stimulator - the Delta 9 from Cannabiogen.
And then in alternation and as finishers...from Top Crop both Top Bud and PK13-14; as well as the Ultimate PK from Mills, the PK 14.5-13.5 from Cannabium; the PK Boom from Witcher's Potion by Cannaboom, and as I had already mentioned towards the end, the floral "exploders" like Brutal Bud, Demon-Green, and B'Cuzz Blossom Builder Liquid.
The Blackberry Gum Auto at this moment and in the environment of the cabinet where there are seven (!!!) automatic strains, subdivided into two phases - is the one closest to harvest.
As you can see, at the base grow level, defoliation is already complete with the removal of all "vampire" branches and flowering points, meaning those that wouldn’t have the capacity to finish as quality buds, and simultaneously, the flowering PLED tubes have been placed at the base grow level as support for the final development of flowering.
In no more than 20 days, I will harvest with the cut from the first phase with the Blackberry Gum Auto, the Auto Mimosa, and at a more delayed point, the Critical Kush Auto.
In the second phase, with at least four to five weeks ahead, are at the beginning of flowering, the LSD25 and the Girl Scout Cookies, both from 42 Fast Bud's, and the Auto Black Domina XL and Buddha Purple Kush that complete the strains.
Everything has been planned so that the harvest of the first phase creates air and lighting space for the strains of the second phase - with a very specific defoliation work that allows for each strain of the second phase to have four to five branches oriented with LST and through the action of the SCROG net.
As for the rest, the early autumn climate has already given breaks to the "bombs" from the initial growth month in August, which led to irrigation and nutrition strategies that have allowed us to be on the verge of harvesting quality "automatics" this season, taking into account that the harvest will occur within the expected time limit, despite strains like the Critical Kush Auto from Barney's Farm showing signs of some delay in the necessary time, just due to the extremely high levels of heat and humidity in the early weeks of flowering.
In short, God Jah always holds the command and wisdom that he lends us so that in the end, everything turns out for the best.
420 always and a big hug to all the grower brothers.
