Here we are again ready to start again, always under the sign of Zamnesia, we make our fantastic plants and we show you what we are capable of. We have 5 autoflowering strains and 5 photoperiodic ones and now we present them to you.
The fourth autoflowering that we present to you is our version or rather of Zamnesia forgive me if I start to feel at home, it is the Northern Lights. Here we are talking about a classic of classics naturally in the Zamnesia version as I said above with the right ruderalis it really promises big harvests in a short time. There is great competition on this plant and I have grown some very good ones let's see what the home one is like.
To explain my germination method which is a combination of experiences acquired in the field and readings of the right advisors, I have chosen to divide it into phases so whoever wants can follow them and understand better step by step.
- Preparatory Phase ---- Check the average temperature in the room, humidity status to understand if it is the case to start or wait, I decided for the end of August because the temperatures start to drop towards the 22-25 degrees recommended for germination.
Then another thing more or less credible depending on the sensitivity is the control of the lunar phases. I believe in it a lot, it is a method that ancient farmers used to understand when it was best to plant depending on the attraction of the moon. To make my life easier I use a simple app that advises you on the right time to plant, harvest and put in the jar (depending on the lunar phases).
- Phase 1 --- Soaking in water. There are many authoritative friends who advise against this method due to the risk of drowning, but I have always been fine and I follow the rule if it opens in water the seed is almost certainly healthy and will come out of the ground 90% normally.
- Phase 2 --- Opening the seed in water. As soon as the seed opens and the root comes out a little, you have to be very very careful not to leave the seed in the water open for too long. This is why there is a risk of drowning. So as soon as the root comes out, it must be planted. Do not wait for it to stretch out a lot, you can wait a little longer in the absorbent paper, but not in water.
- Phase 3 --- In the meantime, while I soaked the seeds, I prepared my pots: I use small biodegradable pots (choose the ones with holes underneath for drainage). A few hours before working with the opened seeds, I moistened the soil with water adjusted to the right pH (5.8 - 6.2) and Plagron Power Roots. The small root is now open and we can make a little hole with a toothpick, widen it and insert the seed. Not too deep with the root facing downwards. From Serious Seeds we learned the dome technique: if you put a small dome of soil on the seed the water will settle on the sides avoiding overwatering problems.
- Phase 4 --- The plant emerges from the soil. So far I have not put the light, now I turn it on at minimum after half a day of soil to give direction to the seedlings. The first week the light will be gradually brought from 40% to 60% to go to 70% - 75% in the remaining weeks of veg. During the first week maximum, I keep the cycle of 24 hours to avoid stretching. Be careful not to exceed the first week at least with photoperiodic plants.
- Germination % --- In water 20/20 seeds have opened for good luck I'm waiting to talk when they come out of the ground but it seems that we are going towards an excellent percentage of germination..."Not too bad"...

Here we are, ready, after a week of truly fruitful germination we have 20 beautiful plants all marked with the Z of Zamnesia.
We have moved on to autoflowering, unlike many growers I have no prejudices about this type of plant, it is true that they are the easiest to make but it is also true that they have improved a lot in terms of flower quality and if once ease meant lower quality now even the most presumptuous old school flower children growers struggle to understand if a flower is autoflowering or a normal photoperiod plant. There are people who claim to recognize it by the flavor but then never succeed, it's funny how it works. I enjoy making them strip their heads with these magnificent new autoflowering. This one in particular is not brand new but it has always kept up with the times and has the strength of the name and the stability of the historic strains: Northern Lights autoflowering. A name, a legend. We have chosen classics and novelties and among the classics Northern Light is a sure thing for lovers of indica and healing THC.
---- New Home - The ladies have almost all been transplanted into 11-liter pots which is my favorite size to get the best ratio of presence of plants in the grow box / yield. Especially if you don't have to do exaggerated topping or you have to grow the plants straight with main cola as I do for catalog needs as I do, 11 liters guarantees you to make excellent plants. Time flies, we have arrived in a flash at day 16 it seems like the other day that the first young ladies were appearing on the first of September. "Do you remember.....nanannana Septermber"
Our Northern Lights auto is in great shape, don't be fooled by the lowered leaves in a set of photos they are still up she went to sleep while I was doing the shooting which was long, with a background she is still nice and awake when I change the background if you notice well she is sleeping. She is in great shape too I gave her a little less than the fertilizer she should but I don't see many signs of under let's say a very little too but just enough to not go into over... I literally hate at the beginning of flowering when the young ladies make yellow tips, it is an anti-aesthetic thing and I am trying to avoid that.

Zamnesia spaceship here, it's your Space Sailor Bread_n_Buds speaking to you, we've reached the middle of the third week, exactly day 24 and they are my beautiful space ladies.
We're back to talking about great classics this time coming directly from the first generation of Dutch herbs, the one that made all of Europe and then the world go crazy. The generation of Skunk, Super Skunk, White Widow, these are not names they are legends. And Northern Lights is part of these. It has always been the queen of indicas and one of the most medical herbs of those with medium-high THC, ours are both doing well. Very different from each other, one with a lot of desire to grow and one very proportionate, they will in fact be worked with different techniques.
--- Chosen technique - These plants are different, I have one with a medium-high internode and one with a medium-low internode. Ok no problem different techniques. The taller one has already been worked with an LST on the side branches that have grown a little differently but no problem let's go. The little one is very proportionate and graceful she comes up straight with a little cleaning underneath in pruning / lollipopping at the end (which I do on all of them anyway, clean the plants at the bottom guys or you will have flowers that are not very powerful)

For our Zamnesia girls It's time to work our magic, since October 1st we are in flowering, the plants have vegetated for exactly 4 weeks, a single top was made on some, others are growing straight, some clones here and there still in veg.
We are growers with white hair, don't confuse us with grandparents we are middle-aged sons of bitches experienced in life, we have seen things in life and strains. One of those that has remained in our hearts is certainly Northern Light. For years it was accused of sending you to sleep, now inece it is highly appreciated in a world of hybrids when one wants a pure indica it must go to NL. It has also been used to cross many great strains. In fact all breeders keep excellent specimens, super stable and recognizable. In autoflowering plants the magic is mixing a super ruderalis and from what I understand Zamnesia has a very selected secret for this reason the auto plants explode. The research on ruderalis has progressed and now the cars are scary. She is doing really well, she is already in bloom a little ahead of the others, you can see the buds in the first stage.

Our Zamnesia autoflowers have been on their journey through the magical flowering period for a while now, this is the second week of flowering considering that autoflowers still flower spontaneously some sooner than others but all around the 3rd-4th week. .
---- The general environmental conditions are good, the heat has increased a bit more but for the first weeks of flowering it is not a big problem, let's remember to never exceed 27 degrees centigrade in the last 4 weeks to avoid compromising the quality of the flowers. If necessary open the growbox but never let it exceed 27-30 degrees
where 30 is already a lot. The positive thing is that as soon as the lights go out the change is already somewhat visible and as autumn progresses we will also improve. The humidity is fluctuating but we try to control it with two dehumidifiers when necessary, pushing both of them possibly not into the growbox but directly into the room. (I dehumidify the room and the air in the growbox should also be dehumidified)
--- This strain is another important name of the old school. The Zamnesia elves noticed that I am gray and surely thought that I am a lover of old flavors. In fact, if I taste the original Northern Light I immediately go back to Amsterdam in the 90s early 2000s. And this happens to me with the cheese when I find it, with the Blueberry that broke my legs on arrival once, with the Skunk and SuperSkunk that were the first Dutch things that arrived in Italy. Wow what memories. Terpenes also do this, they leave well-defined memories thanks to smells and flavors. It grows vigorous and strong, old school strains are super stable, we know. AH there is a second twin that I have not shown you yet that in my opinion, judging by the leaf, is the closest to the Classic Northern Light. A strain to go to bed peacefully, they used to say.

---- Plant - Even if they are not as fast as an F1 our Northern Lights have other qualities. Being a classic strain it is a sure thing, it will have few phenotypes I have caught two, one with a very typical Northern Lights leaf. They are both in great shape, flowering progresses regularly, it is not the latest generation of autoflowering but one thing that I suppose, the breeders are selecting better and better ruderalis and therefore the autoflowering improves at that point I think they recreate the autoflowering with the updated ruderalis. I also believe because for example the Sticky Beast is a masterpiece I would not touch it even for a joke.
However, an excellent harvest of about 50 grams per plant is expected judging by the size and branching of the ladies. and I would say not bad.

The situation is now hot all our Zamnesia autoflowering plants are taking on color and sooner or later they will be harvested.
Our Northern Lights are really beautiful and in excellent shape both, in the photo I show you only one for convenience but at the harvests they will be shown both because of different phenotypes and both very beautiful.
Both plants are in a good state of maturation in about a week we come out of the growbox.
Excellent quantity of resin-
The pistils are now around 50% in the trichomes I haven't been there yet but I plan to take a long trip when the plant is in its final state.
The Plagron gruel gave us a lot of strength and vigor now we were a little too dark with leaves so by blending we first went from 4 mol/l to 2 and now we are only giving the product for the Canna flush

We are talking about and showing the second Northern Lights on harvest day, DAY 63, Week 09. Remember we have another plant that is going and we divide them by the other two weeks to distinguish them.
This is a beautiful plant, it has resined in an excellent way, it did not seem super productive to me and it has typical Northern Lights leaves.
The central flower is nice and plump and really full of resin. The lateral and secondary ones have a slightly airy consistency but that can happen, the other plant has bricks instead of flowers.

And here we are at our Zamnesia harvests, Northern Lights 1 - Born on 01.09.2024 - Harvested on 14.11.2024 precisely ten weeks and 4 days of life on this earth.
ATTENTION - The other plant was harvested and documented in the previous week, for convenience and to better distinguish them at harvest time I divide them for you.
Even though we are growers in our small intensive it is always a little displeasure to prune these masterpieces of nature and cannabis breeding but on the other hand the purpose for which it produced these buds full of resin is noble and if it remained there for a long time it would not come to a good end, so without further ado it is harvested.
We evaluated the harvest because the flowers seemed to have been ripe for a while, very mature pistils, rock flowers that seemed ready for about a week but I still flushed for the best possible result in terms of organoleptic cleanliness of the flower. Pistils ripe at 80-90% and trichomes mostly clody, quite a bit amber and in the violet shades of the leaves reddish and violet gorgeous, really a beautiful show of trichomes.
The scent is truly wonderful at the time of harvest I could not distinguish it well then slowly something sweet and fruity mixed with spicy came out a mix that always intoxicates me.
The results in terms of quantity are not bad at all we will be around 30-40 the first one already harvested and 50-60 this one.

The DS120w Growbox and the fantastic DF16 ventilation / filtration system are from Secret Jardin, there was a change of growbox between autoflowering and photoperiodic at a certain point for a height emergency if you notice discrepancies on the light models and growbox it is for this but everything should be fine.
