This week began with the ff wk 9 feeding and was switched mid-week to flush with Flawless Finish. The roots are still dark from the Sugar Load. Much like there is a layer of tar that I hope is beneficial. As you can see, trichomes are maturing. Although, not ready for harvest some amber trichomes can be seen. All of the fan leaves have been cut and there is only sugar leaves with a leaf that may be a fan leaf showing rust spots as it may be from a potassium deficiency due to the flushing process. She is living off of her own reserves now.
Reflecting back, I have enjoyed this grow and have a few ideas for improvements. What I want to do is just check up on it from time to time and have things run smooth in my absence. That costs too much for now and I picked up another hydro bucket for $45. If all goes well I would like to grow a sea of green with a scrog net.
The roots look like they have algae growth all over them. Will try hydrogen peroxide.
At the end of the week I gave it some hydrogen peroxide followed by a full dose of URB Natural and Flawless Finish.
Now she has been cut: thus the move on to a new chapter. I can't wait to see what she will look like when she is ready for curing. The scent is really potent and the growth left on the plant has a frost all over it. Tips of sugar leaves are purple. Dark period of 22 hours prior to cut.
Tomorrow will be the 5th day of drying. The last that I seen it was on day 3: the stalk was shrinking as it dries.
It is drying at a slow rate and is about 1/3rd smaller due to drying effect.
It isn't a matter if it's ready or not. That's a PK booster. Does your plant look like it's deficient on phosphorous or potassium? Besides your EC/PPM is quite high already, if you add this other fertilizer you will risk burning the plants.
Using GH Waterfarm with air bubbler in res: plant consumed EC of 2.1 down to 1.4 overnight with Mother Earths Sugar Load. I have bio film on roots now and am flushing with Flawless Finish, Hygrozyme and URB Natural. How can I feed the microbes & protect roots & was EC drop good?
The Ec drop can't be a bad thing , it means your plant is using a lot of nutrients to achieve flowering and to produce buds so I would just adjusts it was time the plant is eating. About how to feed microbs : idk 😊
She is finally cut and will give it about one week to dry. Tomorrow will be day 5 of drying; the last time I checked up was day 3 and the stalk was shrinking as it dries.
When ready, they will go into a c-vault with a 62% humidity packet.
hey there casebone the drop in the EC is due to the flushing nutrients and that's normal and to be expected. Dont worry about it, what's the point of the flush except to reduce PPMs of the solution and the nutrients in the plant right? bad news is the microbes also go down and die so dont bother mixing them with the flawles finish. Hope i answered your question ! congrats on the great grow and harvest ! 👊
@Casebone, awe...that would have been seriously bad ass! Yea i noticed a few glitchy things on here too where my figures got changed up. Regardless of yield great job on the grow, turned out beautifully. ✌️
@Experimentgreen,
Thanks for pointing that out! I got 31 Grams off of the 1 plant. Nice dense and sticky nuggets. Yeah, that would be some crazy stuff to get 850 grams. It is a type o that I change every time I log on but it never shows the correct weight. Must have been a glitch in the software, it is changed to the correct weight now.😎

@@@Athos, no deficiencies that I can see. It is not doing much compared to last week when it brought the EC down to 1.4 overnight. Next weeks will be a leaner solution and EC I can shoot for 1.6?

Quite a bit of what I believe to be algae. The leave and buds look fantastic for their small sizes. First thing was to change the res and replace with hose water with the addition of hydrogen peroxide at a rate of 3tsp/gal. Roots look like they are coated with a brown film over the roots. Once they are clean I will continue flush with Flawless Finish. Despite the buildup on the roots the plant is showing no signs of weakness.-Update: the dark film never disappeared!
The flush is started and better sooner than later. This solution was made with RO water: a few drops of Sledgehammer; URB Natural; Hygrozyme and Flawless Finish. This will be the final 4 to 10 days prior to harvest. It should time out just right with the trichome maturity. Strongly considering a final extended dark period for the final finish. All of the largest fan leaves were trimmed off. Now the focus is on the remaining dense foliage and the flowers.
My little nugs are getting plump. I could feel density in them a few weeks ago. Overall, I don't think that it will be a whole lot once she is dried out. Keep in mind that she is not done yet and there is still the flushing period with flawless finish. I think that I am ready to begin the flush tomorrow. Even though I want the best results that I can possibly get; I am still learning my grow technique as I am getting a feel for how to handle the flowering phase. I can totally tell that the Sugar Load gave the plant a nice nutrition boost as the EC dropped like over night. Not much water consumption yesterday, so I added Hygrozyme just to clean up the roots prior to the flush.
Opened up tent and the smell was so sweet! It was time to refill the DWC bucket so today I added Sugar Load High Brixx Molasses and a little bit of Sea green. Lots of foam and the EC jumped to 2.1 from 1.8. I do not think that I will change the solution because it is maintaining the EC very well. Will re-evaluate at end of grow week to see if the Sugar Load increases the consumption of nutrients.
Besides, come to find out that the grow schedule is for a 1000 watt system. I have a Cobb 600 watt and two 180 watt ufo's. The roots are not really massing up, still trying to feed the microbes. I think that it grows better with a higher water level but the root mass must be inside the hydro ton. LED's are like lasers, they beam straight and the Cobb LED seems to spread the light more evenly.
Essentially, the answer to my question may have been not to over feed as the EC is stable and to feed the microbe population giving URB a boost. I am going to try doing intermittent microbe feedings to bring out the potential of URB. URB as I know from previous soil grows really invigorates plant growth to an extreme .👊
