Nothing special so far. The leafs look a little bit strange and the second pair grows a little bit straight up. Let's see how she evolves the next few days … really excited about this strain, but so far she is our smallest plant.

The Plants growth is very different from the other three strains. We will top her someday this week to keep her a little smaller. Started to check PH and will try to get it down to 6. UPDATE Day 18: Plant looks very stressed now. Leaves are getting yellow, are developing eagle claws and feel very dry. Most say this should be a nutrient overdose because of the use of all mix, and that's also our guess. UPDATE Day 19: flushed her yesterday and this seems to have improved the situation. Leaves aren't feeling as dry as yesterday and she looks a little healthier again. UPDATE Day 20: started to pull down two leaves to get more light to the branches. Still growing slow but new leaves are looking healthy – at least we hope so :) UPDATE Day 21: she seemed to be healthier. So used the short time window and risked it to top her so she hopefully won't outgrow all the other plants in the tent when the stretch comes.

Hi fellow growers, my Choco plant develops some eagle claws and yellow spots. She was already slower in growth compared to the other strains and now she seems to be seriously stressed. my guess would be a nutrition overload because of the all mix soil. Any other tips to help her?

Your instincts serve you well, the soil was too hot for early growth. I dunno if I'd take drastic steps to try to fix it at this point unless it gets worse. They're getting old enough to handle it soon enough. The optimal pH in soil is 6-7, so while it's on the high side it's perfectly OK. Really soil is pretty forgiving to pH imbalances as long as you're not waaaaay out of range. Many soil growers don't even measure pH, lol. While VPD is a great tool for optimizing growth, really all low humidity means is it's gonna drink more unless you lower temps to compensate-it's not causing this. Speaking of drinking more, once you're beyond the seedling stage, don't "just water the outside" lol. Water fully and wait until your pots are light until watering again. I swear I think people would be better off just asking AI than some of the answers that get thrown around on here...

This is the Strain we are mostly looking forward to. But it's the one with some issues unfortunately. We think it's definitely our fault. Maybe it was the All-Mix, too much light, nutrient overkill because of the root juice or … Don't really know what it was, but it seems flushing seems to have helped a bit and so we still guess it's a nutrition issue. We are still positive, that she will keep up – despite the problems! UPDATE Day 28: she still looks strange and the leaves are hanging down almost all the time, but she keeps growing and maybe she turns out to be the ugly duckling :)

So my Choco is getting yellow spots on the leaves again. This time it's looking different and I don't know what could be the problem. Any suggestions?

Magnesium deficiency. Also slight nitrogen toxicity. No need to flush, just reduce your "grow" fertilizers and increase your cal/mag supplement.

So we started to use Calmag. The leaves started to turn yellow again, so asked the community here for help. This tip seems to have solved her problems it seems. She is starting to look really better and we are excited about her growth the next days!

So week number 6 has started, let's see how she will grow. Had to remove some inner leafs and branches, because she was a little bit to dense and we don't want her to waste to much energy on small branches which aren't getting any light. Changed the complete Setup on Day 39. She's now in a mars hydro 80x80 cm tent with the fc1500 evo lamp.

Hello mate, looking your diary, you had a big problem with pH but more than other with salts (Ca/Mg). When you use organic nutrients you must know the rate of Ca/Mg in your water, you have a crunchy leaves i think so the problem is linked to the salts for sure. Do a big flush to clean your soil from the locked out nutrients, then restart your feeding program but correcting the salts rate. I put again my answer that i gave you in your last question because i'm enough sure about.

So again it's seems like we have got her a nutrition burn or something else is wrong. flushed her and will keep slow on nutrients for now. She's growing slowly (think we made a lot of mistakes on her) and has very yellow / light green new leaves. Hope to get back some control until end of this week and then the ugly duckling will become our swan soon :)

So, our problem child. Really don't know what we did to her – but maybe it's a sum of mistakes she had to take. Maybe it was the all mix soil, or a nutrition lockout we didn't flush properly or too much light or … Will definitely try choco strain again someday, because we are still very curios about it.

Okay, so Choco never recovered from the nutrient overdose. Nevertheless she has some bud development and it seems to be no total damage. Some more days and we will see.

We were really looking forward to this strain. Unfortunately some mistakes seems to be made and she never really recovered. I think this definitely cost quality and maybe we will try chocolate sometime again. It was around 141g of trimmed buds wet.
