For germination, I leave the seeds in a bottle of water for 12 hours, then transfer them to a paper towel until they sprout a root. This method has worked well for me!

Now it's time to Pot preparation!
For my pots, I use a three-layer method, filling each layer while shaping them with different-sized pots:
- First layer: Super Soil
- Second layer: Regular fertilized soil (BatMix by Plagron in this case)
- Third layer: A light soil with mycorrhizae (Seeding Soil by Plagron)

Iโve planted the seeds!
I'm using a cheap LED light from Amazon just to kickstart germination and gain a few extra days to finish flowering the plants in my tent. As soon as they sprout, I'll transfer them to the tent, where my old but fantastic Electric Sky 180W is waiting for them!

Two of them have already germinated, but one still hasnโt. Iโm struggling with low temperatures, as it's been only 12ยฐC during the day and between 3ยฐC and 7ยฐC at night.
Unfortunately, I had a bit of bad luckโmy lamp fell onto the pot, disturbing the soil and seeds of two plants. One of them is the one that hasnโt germinated yet.
Just in case, Iโve put two more seeds in the paper towel method as backups. If I donโt need them, Iโll give them to a friend!

Iโll probably replace it with one of my backup seeds and offer #R03 to a friend, but it all depends on how things go in the next few days.

BelSun_420 I had to create a new week to reactivate my diary. I'm now starting the germination phase, which you can follow in the previous week.
Apparently, diaries in contests that go a month without updates get hidden, and a grave icon appears in the diary title. According to GD support, it's necessary to create a new week for the diary to become visible again.
Just sharing this info for anyone who might experience the same issue and not know why it's happening! However, keep in mind that once you create the new week, it wonโt be possible to delete it afterward.

#Summary of previous weeks:
I started germination by soaking the seeds for 12 hours in water, then transferring them to a paper towel until they sprouted roots. I prepared the pots using a three-layer system: Super Soil, fertilized soil (BatMix Plagron), and seedling soil by Plagron with mycorrhizae.
I planted the seeds on 05/02, and by 08/02, two had germinated, but one struggled due to cold temperatures and an accident with the lamp. As a precaution, I started two backup seeds.
On 10/02, I moved the germinated ones to the tent, and on 12/02, I replaced the failed seed with a backup (#R03), which is now one week behind the others.

First time doing a proper watering! I gave 300ml of water around each plant, making sure it only soaked into the BatMix soil layer, leaving the Seedling Soil dry.
This way, the water will gradually wick up from the side layers, bringing the first nutrients to the plants in a gentle way. At the same time, this will also activate the mycorrhizae that were pre-applied between the layers and encourage the roots to expand.

I kept watering only by misting the surface and set the light schedule to 21h daily (06:30-03:30), with the lamp at 85cm and dimming adjusted from 45% to 55% throughout the week. The average temperature was 20ยฐC and humidity 72%.
The backup seed #R03 germinated on 13/02, and I started applying Bio Rhizotonic (1ml/1.5L) on 14/02. On 19/02, I did the first complete watering around the plants (300ml per plant, only water).

I'm facing some issuesโbefore the last watering, the plants started showing yellowing on the leaves of the new branches. I believe I prepared the SuperSoil layer too hot, and as the roots reached the over-fertilized layer, they got affected.
Some suggestions pointed to a nitrogen deficiency, but I donโt think thatโs the case. I applied a good watering with Bactomatik, which contains 2% nitrogen and nitrogen-fixing bacteria. This was already a planned watering, and while the plant started stretching a bit, I havenโt noticed any improvements in leaf coloration yet.
Iโll keep monitoring closely to see how it recovers. But If anyone has a suggestion pointing in a different direction, I'm here to listen! ๐

Today, I started the first training by bending the main stem towards the area with more spacing between the lower branches.
At first, I considered only training R01 and R02, since R03 is 5 days younger, but I ultimately decided to go ahead with LST on all three at the same time.
The plan is to apply the SCROG net in the coming weeks, although Iโll likely need to elevate R02 and possibly R03 to keep them at the same level as R01.

This week, I applied first LST training to all three plants and dealt with some yellowing on new branches and leaves, likely caused by roots reaching the SuperSoil too soon rather than nitrogen deficiency. I watered with Bactomatik Rex (10g in 4L of water), which contains 2% nitrogen and nitrogen-fixing bacteria, and while the plants responded well, there hasnโt been significant color improvement yet.
The SCROG net setup is planned for 1-2 weeks from now, and I may need to elevate R02 and R03 to keep them at the same height as R01. Additionally, I introduced companion plants from the Zamnezia Nutrient Pack to enhance soil benefits.

During this fourth week of vegetation, #R01 and #R03 continued to develop well. However, #R02 experienced some shock due to a fall while adjusting the LST, which disturbed the soil. As a result, its growth has been significantly slower, and it is already showing clear signs of entering the flowering stage.
Throughout the week, watering was done with plain water, no nutrients, varying between 500ml and 750ml per plant. The light dimming was adjusted to 70%, and minor LST adjustments were made.
Overall, it was a smooth week for #R01 and #R03, but unfortunately, #R02 will not be able to recover and keep up with the others.

I did a more thorough training session with my girls, and Iโm really pleased with how #R01 and #R03 are developing.
I managed to spread them out well, which has me considering whether to apply the SCROG net. If I do, Iโll need to determine whether #R01 and #R03 alone can fill the tent and if itโs even worth keeping #R02 in there. Iโll assess this throughout the rest of the week and into the beginning of the next.

R01 has also started showing signs of entering flowering, while R03 hasnโt yet, but since itโs 5 days younger, it should be showing the first signs soon. So today, I made another LST adjustment, watered each plant with 1.2L of water, adding 1.5ml of Terra Vega from Canna and 1ml of Mycochum from Plant Success to feed the microorganisms. Additionally, I raised the lights a bit more and increased the dimming to 85% to try and induce a bit more stretch before flowering kicks in.

So guysโฆ This weekend was I didnโt manage to find the time to properly check on my girls or decide whether I should apply the SCROG net โ or even if I should keep R02 in the tent or remove her. Iโm hoping to get around to it tomorrow, but the window to apply the net is starting to close.
Meanwhile, poor R02โฆ as if everything sheโs been through wasnโt enough, I ended up snapping her main stem yesterday while trying to adjust the LST. Luckily, I think sheโll be fine โ I taped it up and handled her gently to avoid further damage.
Today, I watered each plant with 1L of water and 1ml of Canna Terra Vega. Starting next week, Iโll gradually begin applying Alga Bloom and Green Sensation by Plagron.
In summary, R03 is turning into a beautiful plant and still shows no signs of pre-flowering โ sheโs actually the main reason Iโm leaning toward applying the SCROG net, as sheโs looking perfect for it. R01 is also doing well, though not quite as ideal for the net. Since sheโs already entering the flowering stage, Iโll have to make a decision soon.

During week 5 of vegetation, both R01 and R03 showed solid development, especially R03. A training session was done to open them up and improve branch distribution. R01 has started showing signs of pre-flowering, while R03, being five days younger, hasnโt yet.
R02, unfortunately, suffered another setback: during an LST adjustment, its main stem snapped. It was carefully taped and stabilized, but itโs becoming increasingly clear that it wonโt be able to keep up with the others.
This week, two watering sessions were done: one with 1.2L of water, 1.5ml of Terra Vega, and 1ml of Mycochum per plant, and another with 1L of water and 1ml of Terra Vega. The light intensity was increased to 85%, and the lights were raised a bit higher to encourage more stretching before flowering begins

I decided to make another LST adjustment and I'm starting to consider removing R02 from the tent and placing her on the balcony, allowing more space for R01 and R03, which are now practically filling up the tent on their own.
As for the SCROG net, Iโve decided not to use it and will stick with LST until the end. The main reasons are :
-Iโve already managed to open up the plants well with LST
- R01 is already showing signs of flowering
-Iโll be able to handle the plants more freely throughout the contest
.. and the main reason , I messed up the measurements for my frame and now need to figure out a way to extend the support pipes a few centimeters to make it fit properly! ๐

Applied a bit more LST today and decided to give them one last watering with Bactomatik from Agrobacterias, but at a lower dose , just 2g in 3L of water, with one drop of SuperVit to give a final boost of nitrogen, beneficial bacteria, vitamins, and amino acids. I also sprinkled a bit of Epsom salt from THC on the surface for magnesium, and some Basalt Rock from EcoForce, which contains 45% silica, to further strengthen the ladies

Had to make another LST adjustment on R03 โ this girl is definitely keeping me busy! Iโm completely out of space in the tent, so from now on the only direction left for her to grow is up!๐
I also did a bit of defoliation โ something I donโt usually do with autoflowers, but they really needed it. Nothing major, just a few lower leaves and some that were blocking light from reaching the lower branches. Nothing too crazy!!

I made the decision to skip the SCROG net and stick with LST, as R01 and R03 have nearly filled the tent on their own. R02 might be moved to the balcony to free up space. Two waterings were done: one with Bactomatik, SuperVit, and another with Terra Vega and Alga Bloom. I also sprinkled a bit of Epsom salt and Basalt Rock on the surface.
R03 needed another LST adjustment and a light defoliation was done to improve light penetration.

Weโre starting week 7, and I have to admit I had to take a bit of focus away from the plants this week because Iโve embraced a new professional opportunity. Since I'm just getting started, itโs been demanding that extra mile from me, and only today did I manage to open the tent again.
The result? Theyโve definitely had a little growth spurt. R03 is now clearly showing signs of flowering, and both R01 and R03 need a small LST adjustment and possibly some light defoliation โ something Iโll take care of over the weekend.
As for watering, I gave each plant 1.5L with 1ml/1.5L of Canna Terra Vega and 1ml of Plagron Alga Bloom on April 2nd.
Regarding R02, I still havenโt moved her to the balcony. Iโve been keeping the tent open, and sheโs been sitting just outside. But itโs clear that sheโll be moved soon, and from now on, my focus in the diary and contest will be on R01 and R03.
At the start of the week, since the lights were set at a bit of a distance, I increased them to 100% intensity. From now on, Iโll gradually lower the distance as needed and have also reduced the light cycle by 1 hour โ so from this week forward, they'll be on a 20-hour light schedule.

I did a bit more defoliation and just tightened the LST wires slightly, just to encourage them to spread out one last time. I only watered with 0.5L of plain water each, no nutrients.

This week, R01 and R03 showed solid progress, with R03 entering early flowering. Light LST adjustments and some defoliation were done to improve structure and light penetration. R02 remains outside the tent and will soon be moved to the balcony. Plants were watered twice โ once with nutrients (Canna Terra Vega + Alga Bloom) and once with plain water. Light intensity was raised to 100%, and the cycle was reduced to 20 hours/day.

Watered with 1.5L per plant, adding 1ml of Canna Terra Vega, 1ml of Plagron Alga Bloom and 0,5ml mycochum from plant sucess. Last week, I couldnโt stay as active with photo updates due to starting a new job that's been demanding more of my time. Hopefully, this week Iโll be able to keep up better!
That said, Iโm happy with how the girls are doing โ theyโre clearly in full flowering mode and growing well. My only concern is some yellowing on the leaves. Since Iโve been keeping nitrogen in the feed, Iโll reduce the light dimming to 95% and start alternating waterings with and without nutrients to see if it helps.

Iโve been watering the girls with plain water only. Aside from the initial feed with nutrients, Iโve done two more waterings of about 1.5L per plant. The plants continue their flowering phase, although the leaves are showing some signs of deficiency โ something isnโt quite balanced in the soil. Iโll try adjusting the pH to see if that brings any improvement, but as expected, part of the issue likely stems from the soil mix being too hot from the start.

This week, the girls continued progressing well into the flowering stage. Theyโve clearly stretching as expected during this phase. i watering them with 1.5L per plant, with one session including 1ml of Canna Terra Vega, 1ml of Plagron Alga Bloom, and 0.5ml of Mycochum from Plant Success. Two follow-up waterings were done with plain water only.
There were some signs of yellowing and deficiencies in the leaves, likely due to an imbalance in the soil โ possibly linked to the original hot soil mix. In response, light dimming was slightly reduced to 95%, and a plan was put in place to alternate between nutrient and plain water feedings. pH adjustments are also being considered.
Despite a busy schedule due to a new job, the plants are developing well, and the grow is staying on track!

Today, I watered the plants for the first time using Green Sensation by Plagron, diluting 1ml of Green Sensation and 1ml of Canna Terra Vega into 3L of water.
Since I had taken the plants out of the tent, I also took the opportunity to do a bit of cleaning โ removing the energy suckers from the lower parts that werenโt receiving enough light and from now on, Iโll only be removing the most damaged leaves as we move further .

I applied about 4 grams of Lurpe topdress and watered each plant with 2L of plain water. Iโm planning to do one more watering with just water and then finish the week with another feeding using Green Sensation by Plagron.
The yellowing of the leaves is something that naturally wonโt be corrected at this stage, as it stems from the initial soil preparation. Still, the plants are developing nice buds, especially R01. I believe R01โs buds will end up denser than R03โs , but hey... thatโs just an early observation; they still have a few weeks left to prove me wrong! ๐

So... the yellowing of the leaves is getting worse, but as I mentioned before, there's not much I can do at this stage. Iโve ordered some CalMag which should arrive this week, and Iโll apply it because it seems there might be a deficiency in that area.
Honestly, at this point, I canโt pinpoint the issue โ whether itโs nutrient excess or some other deficiency. One thing Iโm keeping an eye on is a new plant I just started, where I used only 10% Plagron Batmix soil and the remaining 90% Plagron Seedling Soil. The first leaves are just starting to open and Iโm already noticing some yellowing, which makes me wonder if there could be something wrong with the batch of soil Iโve been usingโฆ
But, Overall, Iโm happy with how theyโre doing , considering the size theyโve reached and the number of buds forming. As for the increased yellowing of the leaves at this late stage of flowering, thatโs perfectly natural too.๐๐

I switched the light cycle to 24h, no darkness from now on!
Watering every 2 days with 1.5โ2L per plant using plain water, and one of those feedings includes 1/2 ml of Green Sensation by Plagron.
14 days will be reserved for drying time.I hope they manage to fatten up and get those trichomes just right in time!

Finally, weโve reached the final week, and I think they'll be ready by May 16th. The remaining 14 days are reserved for drying. I decided to do one last defoliation, removing all the leaves that were too damaged and allowing the light to penetrate more deeply. Thereโs a mix of photos showing them before and after the defoliation. Speaking of light, last week I changed the cycle, and until the 16th, they'll be on 24/24 lightโfirst time I'm trying this method instead of the usual 2 days of darkness. On the 16th, I'll take them out of the tent and snap the final photos.
It hasnโt been an easy journey... Right at the start, during germination, while handling the pots, I dropped the light on top of them. I had to germinate a new seed, which became R03. Later, during the vegetative stage, I dropped the R02's pot, affecting her so much that she's now on the balcony and half the size of the others (to be fair, R01 and R03 grew so much that they completely took over the tent ๐ ).
Then there was my excitement when preparing the soil, which ended up being a bit too hot with nutrients, causing both plants to yellow earlier than expected. I tried to correct this by watering without nutrients for a while; it didnโt help much, but I believe if I hadnโt done that, things wouldโve been worse.
Even with all that, they turned out to be big girls, with plenty of bud sites, and theyโre now entering that final phase of fattening up.! Letโs see what they can do in these last 5 days! ๐

I can already see some final improvements, hehe. I watered them one last time with 3.5L of plain water each, because on May 16th, or at the latest the 17th, it's time to cut and put them to dry for the remaining days of the contest. Everything is super tight around here, but weโre going to make it! ๐ช๐ป
I'm thinking of doing a wet trimming when I cut the plants and put them to dry. This way, I can speed up the drying process and gain an extra day or two with them in the tent.

I'm going to leave them for one more night, from the 16th to the 17th. Tomorrow they'll be chopped, and I'll create a week for the final photos before the harvest weeks with the dried buds! So, it took 12 weeks from seed to harvest.

Well, yesterday was a night out, so I woke up late today and only had time to chop the R01 and do a light trimming, just enough to dry it by the end of the contest. Basically, I removed all the bigger leaves, it wasn't a full trim. I cut it into branches and Iโm going to dry it like that. Depending on how the drying process goes, I might cut the buds and place them on the drying rack โ we'll see!
Tomorrow, Iโll chop the R03 and post the final pictures.๐ค๐ป๐

Overall, they grew well and reached a pretty decent size for autoflowers. Probably another 1 or 2 weeks wouldn't have hurt, but since there are only 13 days left until the end of the contest, well... it was time for the chop!
By bringing the light closer, doing the final defoliation, and increasing the light cycle, it ended up being a bit too much stress, and they started to develop new pistils. But nothing major, nothing to worry about.
In terms of trichomes, I couldnโt take pictures, but I already started seeing some amber trichomes on the lower buds and most of them are cloudy, so they were ready to go. ๐๐

Personally, I donโt mind it, but it really depends on the structure the plants end up developing. Sometimes itโs the perfect setup, other times itโs just not worth it, and you can get the most out of the plant with just LST.
R03 actually has a structure that would be perfect for a SCROG in a dedicated tent (which I donโt haveโฆ) ๐
@BelSun_420, You are indeed a wise and patient man. I'm too hands on. ๐ And we never have a spare tent! ๐ if we had we'd have filled it with something ๐งก I really wish I had one for drying though, that's become an issue for me. ๐โ๏ธ๐
Thats not lack. Thats abundance, she went from light environment to heavily fertilized. I would not risk adding anything. Just plain phed water for few weeks at least.

Yes, I'm leaning more towards that as well. I believe the roots have reached the SuperSoil layer, although Iโm also considering the nitrogen deficiency hypothesis that was suggested. However, I doubt it since R01 is twice the size and had the same soil preparation method.
Just to be sure, I watered with Bactomatik, which contains 2% nitrogen and nitrogen-fixing bacteria. Now, I'll monitor it closely and see what signs it gives me.

@AsNoriu, We were right, she showed a slight improvement, but the issue was the soil being too hot, not a nitrogen deficiency. To confirm, some leaf tips started showing signs of excess nutrients. I've been watering only with plain water to balance things out ๐

My humidifier broke during the last grow, so Iโm using these buckets of water with an air pump to raise the humidity in the tent!
Itโs just a temporary setup, Iโll be getting my new humidifier next week. ๐จ
