ATLien415 📆 WEEK 0 Thanks to Zamnesia and Plagron for putting on this event! Zamnesia is already one of the most well known vendors in Europe, with no sign of stopping anytime soon. They are admittedly one of the most active companies globally on this site. Plagron is not a line I have personally used before but I do know some breeders in Colorado that do, with great results. Excited to put it to the test, it will be running side-by-side with the best bottled salts has to offer. 🌱 Plants: Germinating these seeds was really impressive as far as time to sprouting. The general consensus is that fresh seeds/old seeds tend to germinate slowly. In my experience though, fresh seeds pop quickest. These seeds from Zamnesia sprouted at the same pace as seeds that were freshly made five weeks prior. Excited to compete and put these seeds to the test. Any mockup of RuntZ is going to be in a genetic well to an extent so look forward to seeing how they perform. ⚙️ Equipment: Popped the beans in water. The rockwool cubes are my choice method for sprouting seeds before they go into the aerocloner. I do these rather than a clone collar. A heating pad provides a small impetus for the seeds to come out and get to work. Once there is some root which can freely grab oxygen if the cube stays saturated, then it will be ready for the aerocloner until ready for the RDWC. If you do it before then they may get stunted if kept oversaturated.

ATLien415 📆 WEEK 1 🌱 Plants: Roots are visible and into the aeroponic cloner they go! 💧 Hydroponics: I mixed in two gallons of Heavy 16 Seedling and finished it off with 4 mL of Green Sensation into the two gallons of water. After that first 4 mL, I was happy with where the water was at for the seedlings. The goal here isn’t to push them but rather to get the girls familiar with the blend. From what I’ve read, Green Sensation really starts to shine following pre-flower.

ATLien415 📆 WEEK 9 Green Sensation has been a pleasure so far. The girls are clearly vibing with it - honestly, the pre-defoliation bushiness was getting mildly overwhelming. My only hesitation is stepping away from my usual additives/boosters. I’ve always adjusted my routine on the fly, but if these girls start to push back, I’ll be in unfamiliar territory. Also worth noting that the seeds from Zamnesia are showing some real promise. The foliage already carries a subtle sweetness, hinting at the profile that’s starting to peek through. 🌱 Plants: Major defoliation went down on 2/28. I’ll be mulching the trimmings into the soil that’s prepped for a tomato planter this Spring - closing the loop a bit. Canopy is basically locked in now, and I’m good with how it shaped up. Each plant's main cola is riding slightly above the canopy, but that’s par for the course when I stretch them into flower — standard tent behavior over here. 💧 Hydroponics: Full solution swap today - amended with four gallons of Heavy 16 Flower Week 4 (left out Prime and Fire) and 32 mL of Green Sensation.

ATLien415 📆 WEEK 10 🌱 Plants: I don’t usually deal with burning in hydro, especially compared to my soil days. But these girls are massive now, with huge root systems that are taking up a ton of space in the flowering sites. This is effectively reducing the overall system volume for nutrient solution by a pretty substantial amount. On top of that, they’re thirsty girls, so the swings in solution levels due to water uptake are becoming noticeable. I might turn the lights down a bit to slow the water uptake down, because if I don’t, I’m looking at a high burn risk in the next few weeks. 💧 Hydroponics: Full solution swap today: 4 mL Heavy 16 Roots, 10 mL Heavy 16 Finish, 30 mL Heavy 16 Bud A, 30 mL Heavy 16 Bud B, 40 mL Green Sensation, and about 20 mL of pH down to amend the solution. ⏳ Timeline & Outlook: The plan is to leave the canopy as it is for about two more weeks. After that, I’ll do some serious lollipopping and start a two-week nutrient sunset/flush routine (though I may end up pushing the flush back a week depending on how things go).

ATLien415 📆 WEEK 11 🌱 Plants: My middle girl went through a bit of stress when I didn’t tend to the solution daily. With such tight margins, this led to a 12-hour stretch of the solution being in an acceptable range, but just acidic enough to mess with a few one-off nutrients. Unfortunately, this meant a flush mid-flower - if it happened in a week or two, I would’ve let it ride, but it had to be sorted now. Found an intersex site on one of my girls - not ideal, but part of the process growing modern exotic hybrids indoors and pushing them in my opinion. 💧 Hydroponics: The tap water here’s been running hot due to acid rain, which was a pain earlier in the week but has actually been fantastic lately, coming in at a steady 6.5 - pretty ideal now, but definitely a struggle at first. Full solution swap today: water’s at 6.5, added 20 mL Plagron Green Sensation and 2 gallons of Heavy 16 Flower Week 5. ⚙️ Equipment: I’ve had a slight shift in my understanding of the Plagron Green Sensation instructions. Initially, I thought it was just a supplement/booster replacement, but now I realize it actually covers the base nutrients too. So after the flush, I amended the solution with this new understanding. ⏳ Timeline & Outlook: I’m still pretty excited about this crop as the girls are showing off a tropical, rotten-lemon-heavy sweetness at the flower sites, which is exactly the vibe I’ve been hoping for. I plan to lollipop the plants on 3/21, then sunset the nutrients with the last feeding on 3/28. I’ll start the flush on 4/7 and aim to harvest somewhere between 4/14 and 4/21.

ATLien415 📆 WEEK 12 🌱 Plants: The girls got their lollipop treatment today to improve light penetration into the canopy, now that the bud sites are entering their final development phase. Overall, the two girls on the left (the more sativa-leaning phenos) are light feeders who don’t handle much stress from training or trimming, which isn’t really my style. The girl on the far right (the more indica-leaning pheno) is a heavy feeder but doesn't tolerate high light intensity, which also isn't my preferred approach. Because of this, I’ve decided to cull my runtz mother clone of the indica pheno - trying to keep all three girls at their best in the same environment just feels like a fool’s errand. 💧 Hydroponics: Full solution swap today - water is at 6.5, with 24 mL of Plagron Green Sensation and 2 gallons of Heavy 16 Flower Week 6ish to amend the solution. ⏳ Timeline & Outlook: The new plan is to sunset the nutrients and lollipop the plants on 3/21, begin the flush on 3/28, and target harvest on 4/14.

ATLien415 📆 WEEK 13 🌱 Plants: The indica-looking pheno (the one on the far right) has a sweet kushy smell. The middle plant has the classic RuntZ aroma, and the plant on the far left has a distinct Gelato smell. Honestly, I wish I’d kept a clone of the one on the left instead of the indica-leaning one, but that’s just how it goes - I chose the one with better root growth, and how that’s translating to buds and flavor will be revealed soon. The one on the far left smells like a clean Dairy Queen cooler, flat Z terps, just a really clean scent. It’s wild that they all started with a rotten-lemon smell and evolved into such different profiles. Typical F1 generation behavior. 💧 Hydroponics: Full solution swap today: water came in at 6.6 pH and (yikes) 0.4 EC. Added 5 mL pH down and 8 gallons of Heavy 16 Flush Week to the 8 gallons of water (this is the one time I stick to the manufacturer schedule). Enviornment: Lights are all the way up; the tent thrives best when I can manually breathe it, otherwise it starts messing with its own humidity and CO2 levels. ⚙️ Equipment: I temporarily lost access to my online drive with the feeding schedule spreadsheet, which is way easier to digest than manually calculating feed per gallon and how many gallons I actually used (since I never feed full-strength manufacturer nutrients). This week was simple though - the buds are deep into swell, so I’ve started flushing. ⏳ Timeline & Outlook: The flush will be swapped for pure water sometime this week while the tent’s lights are OFF, which I think is a critical step. If we’re still pulling salts after the pure water flush, I’ll swap it out for fresh water based on the nighttime readings. On 4/4, I’ll swap the solution to water only at night. Then on 4/7, I’ll swap the water flush for a fresh water flush at night. The target harvest date is 4/14, depending on how the flush is going and how the foliage burn is progressing, though this could shift by a few days.

Enviornment: Lights are set to 70%. ⏳ Timeline & Outlook: On 4/7, I’ll swap the solution to water only at night, then on 4/9, I’ll swap the water flush for a fresh water flush at night, with the target harvest date set for 4/11, marking a 63-day flower.

ATLien415 📆 WEEK 15 📝 Summary: The official harvest entry will be coming soon. I don’t like updating with dried pictures mid-process - I prefer to drop them when the harvest post is up. ⚙️ Equipment: Hydro tek can feel pretty mundane for me since my crop cycles are so hands-off. Harvest time means it’s also time to break down the RDWC and give it a proper clean. Aquarium pipe cleaners and drill bit neoprene brushes usually do the trick. I’ll also let the system run with a cleaning solution (hydrogen peroxide, diluted bleach, or Heavy 16 Finish depending on the situation) before doing a final rinse and filling it up with nutrient solution. This April is special since the wife and I will be trying out some new nutrient lines soon, along with new dosing syringes for all additives and a fresh 8-layer 3-stage water filtration replacement. RO ratios are looking solid these days, so I might swap soon if the funds allow. It’s also time to replace one of the carbon filters (it failed) and clone collars. The dry tent got a deep clean, and I tested all the attached devices ahead of time. My dry tent setup is simple: the exhaust fan is triggered by the upper RH boundary, and the humidifier by the lower RH boundary, with an external temperature trying to stay steady. Luckily, the timing for the dry is working out with the weather. I’ll be aiming for 60% RH/60°F for about ten days, though I’m still dealing with compressor cycles. In the meantime, I pull air into the dry tent through a carbon filter from the room, with ambient air being affected by the dehumidifier and AC. A disco ball motor turns the hanger, and a clip fan keeps the air moving gently around the tent. ⏳ Timeline & Outlook: Hoping to break out the Temu microscope and maybe connect with someone who has a rosin press for a cool drip video. As for the mother clone I had in limbo, it didn’t make the cut, but I did throw the indica-leaning RuntZ as a female in a breeding project now. The harvest should be done drying by 4/21, and I’m excited to see where we land on dry weight. Final pictures coming soon with the official harvest entry. Right now, the 3x3 is jam-packed with gorgeous, dense, tropical flowers.

Freshly dried flower is best. Temp feedback loop hotplate is nice. 0. Low temp press. 1. Take rosin and seal. 2. Place into prepared water bath at 130F. 3. Bring water bath to 140F+ over the next 72 hours. 4. Pull rosin when desired, pop the seal for rapid decarb or cool prior.

Happy Harvest Day!
Rated
7/10
Rated
The harvest went smoothly, with an abundant total dry yield of 0.96 pounds (from left to right 117, 220, and 93 grams respectively). The buds were firm, moderately covered in trichomes (consistent with the expectations for the cultivar), with most of them looking just right at 63 days. The plants had a rich sweet, tropical, loud aroma as they matured, which pivoted to the Z-profiles that we all are familiar with. Overall, this is one of my largest indoor harvests so nothing to complain about over here. This is top-shelf flower. The hash is tasty. The hash rosin is white and chunky. The rosin is crumbly and opaque and turns to a golden amber as you increase temps. What else can I say, other than that I woke up to a lb of Runtz on 4/20 this year and that was a blessing. Note: I did not track my light fixture power level throughout the grow, and therefore estimated my Wattage for a grams/Watt ratio. The light fixtures spent one week at full power near the end of flower, averaged half power, and was on the lower settings for pre-flower.

ATLien415 🙏 Big thanks to Plagron and Zamnesia for putting on the Eternity Grow Cup 2025. This kind of platform means a lot to the community. The chance to push our grows, test out new techniques, and connect with other cultivators from all over has been inspiring. Appreciate the love and effort that went into making this event happen! Hope everyone enjoyed looking over my shoulder on this grow and best of luck to all participants! REVIEW - Runtz (fem., photo.) from Zamnesia: ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬜⬜⬜ The seeds from Zamnesia germinated rapidly, rooted strongly, went wild in veg, and produced an ample amount of high-quality medicinal flower. The diary speaks for itself on that front so this space will be more of a phenotype review. The plants were labelled A, B, and C from left to right respectively in photos. A and B were the 'clasicaly-appearing' sativa-esque leaves while C was the more 'indica-appearing' phenotype. Although A and B appear the same qualitatively, they did produce substantially different amounts of flower (despite their DLI being near max out for the entire tent footprint without supplementing CO2, so I do not think just being in the middle attributed to this). Past their different yields, A and B also have vastly different profiles. A is a classic gelato/ice cream cooler/Z terps, and my personal favorite of the plants (wish I had taken a clone of this one instead). B is the most on point for what I think of with Runtz, classic Z terps but with a slight tropical/rotten/sweetness to it. C had the misfortune of being ready to chop a little earlier than the other girls so her profile is mostly just spicey kush now. I did observe intersex flower sites but given the entire context of the diary and how the plants performed, I have to assume it was user error. No pollination observed in any of the flowers, as zero additional intersex sites occurred. The distinction between A, B and C is what I would expect from a typical F1 cannabis seed. I do not enjoy growing from seed much but these girls were manageable. Add to that the relative stability of the genetics for a Runtz recreation, and well, these are good quality beans for a great price. Not only is Zamnesia responsive and available, their confidence speaks volumes. How many vendors would have an in-house Runtz, knowing how much of a genetic-gravity-well it is in, and be confident enough to let ~200 randos grow it and show it? REVIEW - Green Sensation from Plagron: ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬜⬜ I enjoyed using the green sensation, the NPK values on it make it versatile in application and a power-house in flower. I can't say I noticed anything better or dramatically improved, although comparing to Heavy 16 and asking for a marked improvement is big ask in my opinion. What I was able to do was seamlessly integrate the Green Sensation into my current routine. The additive stayed homogenous, was easily introduced into solutions with no adverse impact to the water contents or pH. Most importantly, the plants enjoyed the additive and it did accomplish the main goal of being able to wane off your primary line. In this respect, by using Green Sensation I was able to save resources by lowering my Heavy 16 inputs across the board approximately 50% and supplementing with Plagron's Green Sensation.

Flavorants are non-terpene (non isoprene based) molecules which contribute to smell or taste. This includes esters amongst other alcohols, canna-sulfur compounds, and other hydrocarbon molecules including at times lipids. This supposedly solves the skunk question too. Thoughts?

Yeah growmie, flavorants are real, and they explain a lot. Some of the loudest strains barely show terps on paper, but they reek because of these extra compounds like esters and sulfur volatiles. Skunk’s probably one of them. So no, the terp wheel ain’t dead, but it’s definitely not the full story anymore.

@MonyetDiablero, Thanks! That is certainly a possibility - they had more stress than I intended this week, with a 12 hour period of running hot, specifically falling out of range for Cal/Mag and even into a range where Mo absorption is aggravated. I am on the fence as to the cause. That is essentially where I left the DMs with Patricia. On one hand: there are other diaries with intersex flowers and we know any mock-up of the licensed RuntZ is going to be heavily inbred. On the other hand: 12 hours isn't that long of a time and IME I only get intersex flowers from tester-quality seeds or when a breeding project is ongoing (that is a weird topic, but I notice unstable genetics tend to display intersex flowers when in proximity to a male - perhaps a hormone or pheromonal type interaction) Still feeling good about this crop 👽

@ATLien415, hmm, this is not what we like to see, and defenately not when you have an entire tent full other plants. did the plant had any stress? And is it only this one? Please send me as much info in a private message as possible. I am documenting everything I can, to make sure we can prevent this in the future. Thanks for letting me know! This is exacly what we like, so we can try to find the problems and finaly make sure we can offer the best seeds! 💙!

@Plagron, @Patricia_Zamnesia Happy 420 - thanks for making my holiday, weighed in the harvest today for a total of 430g of dried flower (from left to right, the plants delivered 117, 220, and 93 grams respectively). I couldn't help myself and took some off the top to enjoy with no cure.

Nice diary growmie and I like the extra information on feeding and flushing, I don't flush but I get it, I usually just dilute my reservoir with water from my dehumidifier and dryer 👌❤️

@yan402, I find myself on both sides of the fence at times... Sometimes even when my lines and system are clean, I will observe salt concentrations by means of EC changing across day and night. From my understanding this corresponds to mass transport cycles the plant has, where excess free salts move to the rootzone at night. Theoretically, free salts could be removed from the root zone with the right pH/EC. So sometimes I flush for a week or two (as long as I'm pulling more salts than I'm putting in; I don't care where they come from [roots/system walls/etc.] I will keep going). I def overdo it. That is for sure lol. Flushing is mostly a holdover from my soil days, where it was vital. LOVE that barrel, even just to precondition your water with silica - it would save me so much time! I also enjoy DWC. My mothers are in a simple 10gallon DWC and they keep the growth rate just perfect.

@ATLien415, But you don't really need to flush for more than "a day or two" or am I wrong? Used to do DWC but single 30l barrels non recirculating, usually 4 in a 1m2 and usually it was a mess cleaning everything at the end lol, my old barrel which I use for storage of nutes solution now, holes for the air hose is visible. I miss DWC best performance I ever had but loud lmfao

@yan402, I'm not going to lie, this flush was way overdoing it. My system and lines were friggin spotless when I took the RDWC down for cleaning.

@KarbofosX, I truly appreciate that, definitely happy with the girls and how the past few months have gone. We are ~48 hours from harvest 👽👽 Figured I could at least share my usage metrics for the Green Sensation. I will be giving my final opinion on the additive and the seeds in the coming weeks.

Do you dim down the lights to re-create a seasonal change? Ripen time?
ATLien415
ATLien415commented7d ago
@HaanfSolo, I mostly changed the lights on this grow in veg for canopy building purposes and in flower for CO2 purposes (just because the two S33s are enough for 18 square feet but the tent is only 8 square feet, so if the CO2 was less than ~900PPM I made sure to keep the lights low) normally I would do it to ripen faster just not on this grow...if I want to ripen faster, I crank the power up and the photoperiod down, meaning I still get my full summer's day DLI but the plant thinks it is way later in the year/more recovery time at night with no energy loss during the shortened day) That is the whole methodology to my "8&Wait technique" which harvests 90% of cultivars at 56 days on the dot. This grow I did not do it because you do sacrifice yields and some strains do not enjoy it
the end.
