GanjaGecko Image 1-4 In the small 40x40x80 tent with a Sanlight Q1Wdim, which was actually only meant for germinating seeds for the first week of a new run, it has now turned into a small cloning tent. 😄 The project with the Lemonite clones came about rather spontaneously for fun. When I took a few cuttings from the Lemonite in the current grow here and there, I thought, "why not stick them in small seedling pots and see what happens?" I then put 3 cuttings in seedling pots and placed a dome over them for humidity in the first few days. After about a week, the dome could be permanently removed from the seedling pots. The cuttings visibly recovered for about two weeks and showed minimal signs of growth, which meant they had already rooted. The ladies were only watered during this time with MasterRoot from XpertNutrients. The most stable of the three cuttings was repotted into a 4L fabric pot. The other two were still backups in case the repotted cutting didn't make it. That worry quickly dissipated. _________________________________ Image 5 After two weeks and a well-tolerated topping, the repotted Lemonite has turned into a small, robust mother plant. Unfortunately, space in the improvised tent is slowly becoming too tight for her. ______________________________________ Image 6, 7 So, from the resulting Lemonite mother, 8 new cuttings were taken. One of the original backups was now in a 1L pot and was still a backup in case the new cuttings didn't make it and the first three cuttings were just lucky and not due to a green thumb. (I know you don't usually keep making new mothers, but space-wise, it's unfortunately not possible any other way; you have to make the best of it. 😄) ___________________________________ Image 8-24 Of the new 8 cuttings, 7 have rooted. Fortunately, 4 cuttings have developed quite evenly. These have already been repotted into 1L pots. The ladies might be repotted again before their 8L fabric pots to slow down growth for 2-3 days. Maybe growth can also be controlled by topping different shoots. At least until they move into the larger tent where more than 80cm of height is available. I think they'll go into the tent in about 4 weeks, where the Lemonite and WCxBBC are currently standing. The three cuttings still in the seedling pots, which took a bit longer to root, are now backups because the old Lemonite backup had to be removed to make room for the 4 chosen Lemonites. The plan is to place 4 Lemonite cuttings in 8L fabric pots in the tent and then send them into flowering after about 2 weeks in the new tent and their final pots. Two Lemonites will be watered with boosters, while the other two Lemonites will only be watered with slow-release fertilizer and every two weeks with BioEnhancer. It's a small experiment that sprouted from a conversation with Stony_German. The 4 chosen Lemonites currently have the same number of shoots and are quite similar in size. All will be topped equally and ideally sent into flowering with the same number of shoots to have the best possible reference on whether the flowering boosters make a significant difference or not. To ensure they are well taken care of for now, some worm humus has been mixed into the substrate. The roots were sprinkled with some mycorrhiza, and each lady has about 10-13g of BioGrow in the pot as fertilizer. By the end of next week at the latest, some more substrate will be added, along with another 20g of BioGrow, so the ladies are well taken care of until they go into their 8L fabric pots.

GanjaGecko The ladies were topped on the last day of this week to let the side shoots grow a bit more. In the next week or the week after, all the side shoots will be topped again to not fully stretch the height in the small tent. So the ladies will be transplanted in about 4 weeks into 8L fabric pots each. Then they'll go into the tent where the Lemonite mom and the WCxBBC are currently standing. There, after about one to two weeks of growing, they'll be sent into flowering.

GanjaGecko The topping went well for all the ladies. The hope that the ladies would manage in the small pot for another 3 weeks was in vain. The ladies had to be moved to a 3-liter pot before the 8L final pots. They were 3.8L fabric pots that I shortened a bit at the top so that the ladies would fit into the 8L fabric pots later. Some of the side shoots and all the already topped main shoots were also topped again. The side shoots that haven't been topped yet will follow next week to keep the height growth under control. I will make sure that the shoots have the same number of nodes before topping so that later we have as equal a number of shoots as possible, to get a good comparison of the ladies with and without boosters.

GanjaGecko The height growth has been kept pretty well under control at the beginning of the week by topping all the shoots. Unfortunately, by the end of the week, the ladies were so eager to grow again that I was afraid the tent would become too small for at least one to, in the worst case, two more weeks, since the tent intended for the Lemonite clones is still occupied by the Lemonite and the WCxBBC. Therefore, I decided to bring up the old 60x60x180cm tent from the basement and pot the 4 Lemonite clones into their final 8L fabric pots and let them root a bit. This way, the 4 Lemonite clones will replace the WCxBBC and the Lemonite in one to a maximum of two weeks and can be sent directly into flowering. For the next run from seeds, I will definitely do another clone run. That way, if you catch a nice and/or tasty pheno, you can send another round or two or three if you're really lucky with a pheno. Next time, I’ll plan it a bit better so that the old 60x60 tent can stay in the basement and the small propagation tent will be enough. The plan is to take a few clones from each lady just before switching to flowering, let them become little mothers in the propagation tent for about three weeks, and then cut 4-5 clones from the most vigorous mother of both strains in the propagation tent. These would then grow in 3L fabric pots for about 4-5 weeks. When the seed mothers from which the original clones were taken are done, the clones from the pheno that deserves another round will be planted in 12L fabric pots, left in growth for another 2 weeks, and then sent back into flowering. So that’s the plan 😄🍀 Above the ladies, the two Sanlight Q1Wdim are dimmed to 40W each. This way, the ladies get 400ppfd from the overlapping light in the corners and around 480ppfd in the middle. The substrate mix where the ladies are getting cozy consists of about 75% BioBizz Lightmix and about 25% coco with perlite (70/30). Additionally, for soil improvement, there was -1 tsp/L Mega Worm - 2g/L rock dust - 5% BioChar In the pot where the ladies have found their place, the hole where the ladies are set was sprinkled with some Great White mycorrhiza and Dynomyco mycorrhiza. Since the ladies were put into their 3L fabric pots about a week ago and fertilized with BioGrow from GreenHouseFeeding, they probably still have enough for 1-2 weeks. The lower leaves are still a juicy green. Additionally, the ladies received fresh soil and worm humus in their pots. With the nutrients, the ladies should be fine for two weeks until they move into the flowering tent. They were watered with silica, PowerRoots, and Alphaboost.

GanjaGecko WEEK 6 // D36-42 I checked the data from the photos again. The cuttings are almost exactly 6 weeks old. I had to take another look to better plan the next clone run and promise my government at home that the tent from the basement is only temporarily in the living room. 😄 The cuttings are developing incredibly well. By the end of this week, a few stunted shoots were removed, and the number of shoots from all the ladies was somewhat equalized so that the experiment with the bloom booster in the limited space of 60x60cm is somewhat meaningful. From the moment the ladies go into bloom, two ladies will receive, as usual, BioBloom, worm humus, and bat guano in the substrate and will be watered with the usual additives and boosters. The other two ladies will get "only" GreenHouseFeeding BioBloom, worm humus, and bat guano in the substrate, and then only pH-corrected water and the BioEnhancer recommended by GreenHouseFeeding every two weeks. GanjaGecko WEEK7/1F // D43/1F-D49/7F The stretch became visible starting from day three. On day 48/6F, the ladies moved into their flowering tent and immediately received the flowering nutrients in their pots since they were being moved anyway. There was also a generous defoliation and lollipopping. Normally, the ladies would get their lollipopping and generous defoliation only in week 3 of flowering. Who knows how well or poorly I would have been able to access the back ladies in two weeks if they had gotten a bit denser and already grown through the SCROG net by then. On day 48/6F, the last layer of substrate and the additives went into the pot. The substrate is a mix of about 80% BioBizz Lightmix and 20% coco with perlite. The ladies now have a total of 8L of substrate, 40g of BioBloom (5g/L) from GreenHouseFeeding, 8 tsp of Megaworm (1 tsp/L substrate), 2 tsp of Batguano (1 tsp/4L substrate), a bit of Dynomyco mycorrhiza, and a bit of Great White mycorrhiza as well. Here, there are the full recommended 5g of BioBloom per liter of substrate since the pots are a bit smaller and the ladies take quite a long time with about 65 days of flowering. Due to the relatively long flowering time, the ladies will receive another 5-10g of BioBloom in week 4. Lady 1 & 2 on the left in the tent receive the usual additives and flowering boosters every second watering, while Lady 3 & 4 on the right in the tent get pH-corrected water and BioEnhancer every two weeks. The flowering nutrients were only given after a week of 12/12 to avoid phosphorus "excess" and thus extra stretch. That's why the FarRed sleep aid will only be activated between flowering days 15-21, as FarRed also stimulates the ladies to stretch. Since they are cuttings, I strongly hope that the stretch will be somewhat less than with the Lemonite that sprouted from seed. GanjaGecko WEEK8/2F // D50/8F-D56/14F In flowering week 2, a few leaves were removed here and there to ensure good airflow. After the ladies had to manage 5 weeks of growth in a tent without exhaust, relying only on one fan, they were exposed to very high humidity, so it's time to make things a bit more comfortable for them. During the move to the flowering tent, two leaves showed minimal signs of powdery mildew. They were the leaves that were hanging on the wet tent wall, so they need good airflow even more now. The first clear signs of flowering are already visible by the end of the week. I'm very curious to see how the stretch will show in the cuttings. Unfortunately, the pots are half the size of the Lemonite from seeds, so the Lemonite cuttings will probably end up being a bit smaller anyway. However, the 4x 8L pots were necessary to get somewhat meaningful results from the flowering booster "experiment." In the next run in the other tent, we will grow from seeds again. Cuttings will also be taken from the ladies, and if terps and yield impress with one of the ladies, that cutting will be sent back into the race, giving us another harvest that won't take too long to wait for. The seed ladies and the clones will then have the same pot size. This way, we can make more precise statements about the stretch and height at the end. This way, the ladies should have good airflow and can focus their energy on the existing shoots. The scrog net was raised a few centimeters so that the shoots are better supported. In the third week, the FarRed was added as a sleep aid and wake-up aid. In this run, the additional FarRed is only turned on in the third week to avoid excessive or additional stretch in the first two weeks due to the FarRed. The Far Red light strip is in the 730-745nm range - the Spider Farmer SUPP-IR 16. This is turned on for 15 minutes as a little sleep aid before the Sanlight goes out and for 15 minutes after the Sanlight goes out. By using FarRed LEDs, the metabolic transition after the light goes out is accelerated. This allows the ladies to recover better at night and start the new day refreshed. Plants have an absorption spectrum that sees Far Red light as an indicator of the onset of darkness. We can take advantage of this fact with artificial lighting. The so-called phytochromes are responsible for the absorption of Far Red light waves. These are a type of photoreceptor proteins that influence a variety of plant growth processes. Phytochromes control processes such as germination, flowering, and photoperiodism, which is the regulation of the day-night rhythm. Essentially, there are two types or conformations of phytochromes in plants: The Pr-form (r=red) has its absorption maximum at around 660 nm, and the Pfr-form (fr=far red) at about 730 nm. What do phytochromes have to do with plant lights? Quite simply: By using the Far Red spectrum, relevant processes like photoperiodism can be specifically influenced to optimize nighttime recovery and thus photosynthesis, leading to better yield results. If the low-energy Far Red radiation stays on in the evening for about 10 to 15 minutes longer than the regular light, it acts as a "sleep initiator." Plants switch to their natural sleep mode faster this way and can use the extra time for recovery. Maybe I'm imagining it, but I already have the feeling that there's a slight difference between the ladies with additives and those without. The flowers of the ladies with additives look like they are developing a few more pistils, which promises more calyxes. The pistil flowers of the ladies without additives look much "neater" than those with additives, where the pistils are growing wildly because they don't know where to go. I can imagine that the addition of PowerBuds is noticeable, as it promises more flowering when looking at the ladies with additives. The LED was adjusted this week as much as possible. There won't be much more stretch. From now on, only the buds will grow a bit towards the LED. The stretch of the Lemonite was completed in the previous run during the fourth flowering week. GanjaGecko WEEK11/5F // D71/29F-D77/35F In flowering week 5, the clones have taken over the tent! A lemony scent with herbal/floral undertones is spreading as well. So far, the grow is going quite stress-free. The only concern is that the buds are getting so thick that I have to remove a small shoot here and there to ensure some air circulation. So far, there are no significant differences noticed between the ladies with and without additives. The internodes are nicely spaced close together. Some shoots look like they will end up being a complete bud. GanjaGecko WEEK12/6F // D78/36F-D84/42F In flowering week 6, the buds are really starting to swell. Here and there, a few leaves were removed that were covering other buds, which also helps with better air circulation. I already have the feeling that the two Lemonites with additives have grown somewhat denser and thicker buds. I'm curious to see how this continues to develop. It looks like one or the other additive is making a difference. What's a bit tricky at the moment is finding a compromise between this flowering tent and the growth tent next door where the young OceanTruffle and OceanRosa are. That's why we can't reach the desired 40% humidity, which would be super easy to achieve with the outside temperatures. Right now, it's at 50%, which is still okay. Maybe it's time to get a small humidifier that fits into the small tents. Or we could do a run in both tents with cuttings and then have two tents that are at the same stage again. That would also make it less of a headache with temperature and nutrient mixing. I’ll probably go the route of getting both tents back to the same stage. Even when going on vacation, it would be more relaxing. We'll see. On the other hand, a small humidifier wouldn't be wrong for drying at this time of year. GanjaGecko WEEK13/7F // D85/43F-D91/49F Flowering week 7 is slowly showing that we're heading towards the finish line. Unfortunately, I miscalculated in the third flowering week and didn't add any flowering nutrients to Ladies #3&4 without additives and boosters, as recommended by the manufacturer for a flowering time of over 8 weeks. Bat guano would also not have hurt in flowering weeks 3-4. The ladies without additives have noticeably lighter leaves, indicating a slight nitrogen deficiency. BioBloom contains a bit less nitrogen, which is now becoming apparent as we approach the end. Therefore, Lady #3&4 will receive only SugarRoyal as an additive. This shouldn't skew the results since the experiment is about the flowering boosters and their influence on yield. The NPK value of SugarRoyal is 8-0-0, which should help counteract the nitrogen deficiency a bit but won't affect the final yield amount. So, this should work for the last maximum two weeks. Still, I have to say that the two ladies without additives are performing incredibly well. However, there is a noticeable difference in the volume of the buds. On one hand, the buds of the ladies with boosters have significantly more volume and are still growing a bit. They are, on average, thicker and stronger. As robust as all the main buds look on Lady #1&2 with additives, only two main buds on Ladies #3&4 look that strong. The buds without boosters are, on average, a bit thinner. Somehow, the buds of the ladies without additives don't take as long to finish as the ladies with additives. Maybe because the ladies without additives, with less bud mass, also finish a bit faster since they don't have as much to do as the ladies with additives, who seem to be continuously adding bud mass. No idea. I can't explain it any other way. Maybe someone has read this far and can definitely say what it's about☺️. The ladies without additives are also already fading. Perhaps because there are slightly fewer nutrients available than with the ladies with additives, making the end a bit closer. GanjaGecko WEEK14/8F // D92/50F-D98/56F Budporn-Phase1-Final Stretch In flowering week 8, many leaves of the ladies #3&#4 are visibly turning purple and bringing beautiful colors into the tent. Lady#1&#2 are also slowly starting to get red/pink tips on the calyxes. The ladies without additives are a bit closer to the end. Maybe it's really because they don't have to produce as much biomass as the ladies with additives. I quickly ruled out a nitrogen deficiency as well. With a nitrogen deficiency, it would first affect the lower leaves. I'm pretty sure it's the natural fade and also the natural flush because the substrate doesn't have many nutrients left. The lower leaves all still look great. Sure, the leaves are slightly lighter than those of Lady#1&#2, who received additives and boosters, but considering that there was "only" long-term fertilizer applied once at the beginning of the growth phase and then again when switching to flowering, plus adding the BioEnhancer every two weeks, it has been super relaxed and the ladies have developed amazingly. No deficiency symptoms, nothing. If you also incorporate an automatic watering system into the setup, it couldn't be more relaxed. For someone who has very little time and/or is often on the go, this would be a very stress-free solution. GanjaGecko WEEK15/9F // D99/57F-D105/63F Budporn-Phase2-just before harvest In flowering week 9, the buds of Lady#1&2 have swelled up nicely again. The difference between using a booster and not using one is enormous. Still, I don't want to downplay the just water method from GreenHouseFeeding. The yield will still be solid. For people who want to grow and don't have much time, this would be the solution. The results are definitely impressive. What was observed is that the ladies without boosters have, on average, tighter internodes. Probably because they received large amounts of phosphorus a bit later, resulting in slightly less stretch compared to the ladies with boosters. Still, it's very impressive what the boosters can do. For me, this means continuing to mix nutrients diligently in the future 💪🏽. The buds of the ladies without boosters are mostly uniform and pointed. With the buds that have boosters, it’s like the ladies are on steroids. It’s as if the ladies are thinking, "Oh, there's still room for a few more calyxes here and there," so they don’t grow as uniformly as Lady#3&4 without boosters, but the buds are significantly denser. Unfortunately, this week is not the last one yet. The ladies will probably be harvested between day 66-68. During the trichome check, a few amber trichomes could already be spotted here and there. The buds in the middle area still have some clear trichome heads. The buds in the middle area should ideally be completely milky. Luckily, the new cuttings are not pushing too much yet. The ladies received less water this week and were intentionally put under a bit of H²O stress, which is supposed to stimulate cannabinoid production. The last time they got water was on day 105/63F. There will be no more water until harvest. This way, the ladies won't go into drying overly saturated. Sanlight has observed that if the plant dries out in the pot before being hung up, it has an immensely positive influence on the later taste. Also, the SanlightQ3W will be dimmed down to 100W for the last days when there will be no more water. Unfortunately, I only got to where I wanted with the last Lady#2. Just like with growing, you learn something new with every hobby. Still, enjoy the Budporn 😘 Flowering week 10 was the last flowering week for all the ladies. The little flowering booster experiment came to a visible conclusion this week. The final results with all the numbers will only be available once the ladies are dried and trimmed. Below are the wet weights of each lady. The dry weight will come with the harvest update/smoke review. Just like the mother plant of the Lemonite from the seed, the cuttings also needed 68 flowering days. Only the two ladies without additives needed 2-3 days less. We have about 10% amber in the trichomes of the main buds, in the middle range about 90% of the trichomes are milky and there are no amber ones yet. When I looked into the tent on day 107/65F, I decided to distribute Lemonite#4 into two DRYFERM bags for drying. On day 108/66F, Lemonite#4 was also harvested and placed in a large DRYFERM bag for drying. Lemonite#1&#2 hung in the tent to dry for the longest time and were hung up two days later, on day 110/68F. I'm almost certain that the reason for the few extra days was the approximately 20-30% more biomass. Also, when looking at the buds in the middle range, a huge difference can be seen. The ladies with additives have buds in the middle range that sometimes have more volume than the main buds of the ladies without additives. The branches were cut individually, remaining fan leaves were removed, and then the first Lady was distributed into two DRYFERM bags. After 9 days, she was carefully trimmed and after a final weigh-in, went into jars with 58% Boveda packs. Wet: 376g Dry: 40.81g Environmental Conditions Temperature: 18-20°C Humidity: 40-50% -Lemonite#3 (no Booster) Harvested Lady#3 on Day 108/66F. Similarly, the branches were cut individually, remaining fan leaves were removed, and then packed into a larger DRYFERM bag. After 9 days of drying, Lemonite#3 was trimmed and after a final weigh-in, went into jars. Wet: 395g Dry: 45.16g Environmental Conditions Temperature: 19-20°C Humidity: 40-50% The room where the bags were located saw humidity climb to a maximum of 50%. After airing out, the humidity was consistently at 38% and 18°C, then slowly rose back to 21°C and stabilized around 45% humidity. The cold temperatures outside made the whole process quite pleasant. I think for me, the solution with the DRYFERM bags is only suitable for winter. In summer, it’s impossible to get the humidity and temperature in this attic apartment without an air conditioner and dehumidifier anywhere near the recommended optimal conditions for the DRYFERM bags of 20°C and 40-45% humidity. While when hanging the ladies traditionally in a closed tent for drying, aiming for 60% humidity, 60% is suboptimal for the DRYFERM bags. Sanlight conducted many different tests with the DRYFERM bags and observed that the buds in the DRYFERM bags do not dry and harden properly at 60% humidity. Therefore, for me, it’s a relaxed and good solution for the cold months; in the warm months, it remains traditional drying until I convince my household how useful a Cannatrol or V-Cure would be and how such a wonder of technology beautifies the living room. 😂 ___________________________________ Lemonite#1&#2 (with Booster) -the last two ladies, Lemonite#1&#2, were harvested on Day 110/68F. For Lady#1&#2, it was off to dry in the tent. The remaining fan leaves were removed beforehand, and then partially individual branches or branch groups were hung upside down in the tent. A small fan placed at the bottom of the tent and tilted towards the ground ensures that the air in the tent doesn’t stagnate and helps prevent any mold formation. After three days, the fan was turned off, and only the under-canopy PC fans were running. That was enough to keep the air in the tent circulating and the ladies from drying too quickly. The environmental conditions were kept quite relaxed.
