Selkot Hello everyone!
Some space has freed up in my tent, the sowing time has arrived π
I received a gift pack from RQS with some Triple G and Wedding Cake; I was actually in the mood to grow a Gorilla-based genetic again, so here we go with a run of 5 Γ Triple G in fabric pots and coco substrate! π
The good old paper towel technique : 4 days to germinate and produce a root, up to 2 cm for one of them; 5 out of 5 germinated, a success π
I transplanted them into peat pellets. Theyβre joining the tent, βin the shadeβ of their big sisters π
Iβm leaving the lighting at 100% for the others of course, but the little ones are 100cm from the LEDs, so very little chance of light stress.
By Sunday, they should be ready to move into their final 12 L pots.

FIRST DAYS
-------------
The week settling into the final pot went well, with no signs of burn or growth stress. The Plagron coco is nicely rinsed.
So Iβm continuing with a light feed at every watering: 2 ml of CalMag, 2 ml of Voodoo, and 1 ml of Grow A+B. Iβll double the Grow in 4β5 days.
Iβve planned a specific feeding schedule for this run; I find that in coco, organic nutrients work well during veg, but in flower the plants need more mineral nutrients, quickly assimilable, because cocoβs buffering effect is more short-lived (but Iβm too much of a fan of all its advantages to go back to soil π)
So Iβm using feeding solutions from four different brands depending on their composition, and on what Iβve got in stock, which got boosted last month by the GOTM π
MIDWEEK
-----------
The vegetative stage is really starting; theyβve produced 2 nodes and large leaves in 4 days.
Aside from the basic discoloration of the first leaves, no signs of stress.
Iβm going up to 2 ml CalMag, 2 ml Voodoo, 2 ml Grow A and 2 ml Grow B

The little ones are developing well; I let three days go by without watering, and it didnβt bother them too much.
But it was definitely time to give them some π
The new leaves are nice and wide. In terms of size theyβre all reaching 7β8 cm, except one thatβs a bit stunted.
It had a harder time starting off, but itβll catch up later.
MIDWEEK
-----------
Itβs growing along quietly.
Two of them have a strange look, one of them in particular.
Maybe the genetics arenβt 100% stabilized; but you can get some great surprises from Quasimodo plants πͺ

FIRST DAYS
-------------
3 of the girls have the perfect shape for topping.
Iβm going with a structure of 6 side branches for each of them.
The one thatβs a bit behind doesnβt allow me to plan for 6 branches for now, so Iβm training 4 lateral branches and training the main cola;
that will give a 5-branch star.
As for the Quasimodo girl, itβs more complicatedβ¦ πΆ
Up to the 4th node she showed no symmetry, was developing big leaves with small branches, and was leaning to one side;
so I cleaned off all those branches and leaves that looked like a lettuce, and Iβm waiting to see what I can do with her this week.
All 5 are moving to 3 ml Grow A, 3 ml Grow B, 2 ml Voodoo, and Iβm switching to Plagron mineral CalMag at 1.5 ml.
MIDWEEK
-----------
The Triple Gs handle topping and training brilliantly π
In just four days, they had redeveloped large leaves and secondary shoots on every branch, which I cut while continuing the mainlining.
I now have three beautiful plants with six branches; the late one is becoming a five-branch plant, and the Quasimodo will have four branches by bending three secondary branches and keeping the main cola.

FIRST DAYS

The week after topping: a very busy week!
Check every day each trained branch, defoliate when horizontal shoots appear, pull the tops toward the sides, and shape the girls the way you want;
and in the end, achieve star-shaped structures with a harmonious canopy, ready to rise toward the light while carrying big buds π
Iβm glad these Triple G donβt have overly fast vegetative growth, still have 1 week to 10 days ahead of me before seeing the first pistils, and my plants will be ready for the stretch.
Iβm giving them an extra 1 ml of Sugar Royal as a small nitrogen boost, and Iβll increase the dose once the pistils appear.
MIDWEEK
-----------
The training is coming to an end; the colas will be well spaced when they grow upward, and the stems all seem quite strong π
I still removed one of the branches from my 4-arm plant;
two of them were competing with each other, and I prefer one nice big cola rather than two small ones.
Everything is going well for the plant trained with 5 branches, and very well for the three plants that were topped to 6 branches π

FIRST DAYS

Two weeks after topping, the girls are doing well π
The plant with three branches has regained its vigor; I donβt regret having sacrificed one branch.
Nothing to report for the five-branch and six-branch plants either ; they are developing nice, broad green leaves to prepare for the stretch, which shouldnβt be long now, along with the first pistils.
I usually choose varieties with four weeks of vegetative growth, but in the end, with two extra weeks I can almost treat them like photoperiod plants, without fearing flowering in the middle of training π
MIDWEEK
-----------
These Triple Gs love space and know how to fill it π
A new defoliation is needed every week, and for the past few days theyβve been stretching upward ; almost 10 cm in one week now that Iβve stopped training them.
Left to their own devices they would easily have reached 100 cm, but Iβm happy with my canopy and will work to keep it balanced

FIRST DAYS
-------------
After 6 weeks of vegetative growth, which gave me time to play with the girlsβ shape, flowering is starting, and the stretch at the same time. The tallest one reached 31 cm at the beginning of the week, 11 cm more than four days ago
The two plants with trained main colas, the 3-cola and the 5-cola, are doing very well.
Among the three plants with 6 colas, two of them show yellow tips on the new leaves. slight nutrient stress; I probably fed a bit too heavy by adding Sugar Royal without compensating on Grow A+B, but nothing worrying at this stage.
Iβm also changing the feeding regime and, as planned, the nutrient brands to Aptus and Plagron. They are now receiving 0.15 ml of Regulator, 2 ml of All-in-One, 1 ml of Sugar Royal, 1 ml of Power Buds, and still 1 ml of Voodoo Juice for one more week, which I will then replace with Green Sensation. This change is a risky bet, I may end up fighting excesses or deficiencies, but we also grow for the challenge, right? π
MIDWEEK
-----------
Of course itβs still a bit early to know whether the girls are happy with the nutrient transition, but since theyβre in a coco substrate and using mineral fertilizer, they react quickly; and so far, everything seems to be going well.
It even looks like the yellowing tips on the leaves of the plant thatβs ahead of the others are receding π
It has also gained 7 cm in 4 days

FIRST DAYS
-------------
2nd week of flowering: real little bushes, including one that thinks itβs a Christmas tree
The tallest one now measures 47 cm, +9 cm in 3 days, forcing me to dedicate a lamp just for her; all the others have a canopy topping out at 31β38 cm.
With all these leaves in the tent, humidity is rising: I recorded 80% at night, which is very bad.
So no hesitation : after the topping and early HST, Im continuing with heavy mainlining, and even trying a one-bud hybrid on the plant with 5 colas.
I know what I removed looks huge in the photos, but I wont even give them a week before they push out hand-sized leaves again π
And in any case, it was necessary: I found several humidity hotspots in the canopy ; no question of favoring yield quantity at the expense of increased risk of fungi and mildew... For a moment I was also afraid of a pest attack, but thereβs nothing to report, must be mechanical damage.
I also took the opportunity to do a small turnover in the tent to adjust airflow and lighting, and theyre breathing easily now, with all bud sites receiving good light. π
MIDWEEK
-----------
Half a week has gone by, and already the bushes I had heavily pruned are putting out fresh, vigorous new shoots. This time, without the slightest trace of humidity π
The tallest one keeps stretching at a frantic pace: +7 cm in 3 days, reaching a current height of 54 cm. A big difference compared to her four sisters, which are all between 32 and 43 cm tall.
I do notice, however, a resurgence of yellow tips on two of the girls. After reviewing my feeding schedule, a nitrogen imbalance clearly stands out. The other parameters seem fine, so Iβm removing Sugar Royal (8-0-0) for 10 days to see whether the issue is indeed coming from there.

FIRST DAYS
-------------
As expected, one week was enough for my pruned girls to fill back out with new, healthy, broad shoots, just like a true indica π
This didnβt slow down the stretch, quite the opposite: the tallest one has gained another 5 cm in just 3 days, and the little sisters are shooting up as well. One of them has reached 50 cm and is closely followed by two others.
Having four 150W lamps instead of a single 600W (or even two 300W) is honestly very practical: I can easily play with the height without any hassle and without worrying about light stress. It provides intense light that is very evenly distributed and wraps around all the shoots.
I hesitated at the start of the season between increasing power or increasing the number of lamps, and I donβt regret my choice at all π
The yellow tips are still present on two of the girls, but once again they donβt seem to be spreading anymore. Iβm still keeping the Sugar Royal aside and not increasing the PK boosters; I think this minor issue will be resolved over the course of this week.
MIDWEEK
-----------
The girls seem to have accepted the transition in the feeding regime and the reduction in nitrogen ; Im not declaring victory just yet, but the yellow tips appear to be under control. The stretch is obvious on all five girls (all between 47 and 59 cm as of today), and Im not seeing any of the classic deficiency signs I was expecting
The first terpenes are starting to show as soon as I open the tent; with this genetic line, Iβm expecting and hoping for a tasty, aromatic harvest (I remember a small batch of bubble hash I once made from a Gorilla, it was delicious π)
Aside from some light defoliation from time to time, Ive finished training all the plants ; last week I pruned the lower third of all of them, with no negative impact on the buds, which are steadily swelling this week π

stretch has stabilized, all between 50 and 60 cm, and the girls are focusing on their buds; i can smell it now every time the tent is openedπ
The colas are filling out, I removed a few more future popcorn buds, and of course I took the opportunity for a bit of defoliation.
One girl still shows a few small yellow tips, and another has a slight Calmag deficiency, nothing serious on either side.
I removed the hooks ; plant structures wont move anymore and are nice and sturdy. Iβm hoping theyll carry some serious weight π
MIDWEEK
-----------
The nutrient balance seems to be dialed in, so Iβm not touching anything anymore til the flush.
Three plants have finished their stretch, between 56 and 60 cm, and the other two are almost there.
theyβre focusing on the buds and terpenes now, and seeing the colas filling out, Iβm expecting a nice average yield per plant π
I hope the quality will be just as satisfying, and honestly, the smell that floods my cellar every time I open it makes me think itβs going to be tasty π weβll see how potent it turns out to be

Weβre nearing the end π
The canopy is well stabilized; the youngest plant has stopped growing and leaf production is slowing down.
On the other hand, theyβre all getting quite hungry, so Iβll need to increase the amount of water.
As for nutrients, the yellow tips are now well under control (so it really was excess nitrogen), but the Ca and Mg deficiency on one of them is getting worse; the issue is probably salt buildup, but at this stage of the grow thereβs no way Iβm doing a flush.
Iβll try to keep the problem in check until harvest with a light defoliation.
Overall, Iβm really satisfied: several colas are reaching 40cm, becoming massive and getting covered in resin π
MIDWEEK
-----------
Midweek, thereβs not much to report; bud development is continuing smoothly.
One of the youngest plants has overtaken its elders; the tallest now measures 63 cm.

For three of the girls, harvest time is fast approaching ; Iβd say another 10β14 days, then flush.
The younger ones will need two more weeks; one of them has become the most massive, the one in the smallest pot. Theyβre actually all in 15L (4 gal) pots except for one, which is in an 11L (3 gal) pot.
In the meantime, they all got a good defoliation, especially in the center of their canopy, and a watering with plain water, just to stimulate their appetite before resuming feeding a bit more lightly.
MIDWEEK
-----------
I continued watering with plain water until midweek.
The yellow tips on one plant and the burn marks on another are no longer progressing.
That said, Iβll need to resume feeding ; the buds need it.
Iβll have to tailor the watering for each plant toward the end of the cycle.

Last week for 3 of the 5 girls π
There are still a few pistils that need to turn brown and some trichomes that need to become cloudy; 7 to 10 days will be more than enough.
I didnβt resume feeding for them, so Iβm continuing with plain water.
The other 2 will need 1 to 2 more weeks than the others: one is seeing her buds swell, and the other too except for the main cola : she stretched for a long time. For these two, Iβve resumed feeding with the same doses.
MIDWEEK
-----------
In a few days, three girls will join the drying room; the smell is going to be hard to control π
The two latecomers seem to be swelling ; I hope to see them turn brown and get covered in resin this week. π

Harvest time!
Today, 3 of the girls were harvested (the 3 at the front in the photo).
Big, dense buds, beautiful sticky resin that fills the whole house with aroma π
In wet weight, the three of them each came in between 580 and 650 g.
Canβt wait to see the dry result in about 2 weeks, while the last 2 plants finish maturing. Theyβve got plenty of space in the tent all to themselves.
But 3 babies will be joining them soonβ¦ π
MIDWEEK
-----------
Nothing to report ;
one is approaching maturity, the other will need about 7β10 more days.
In the meantime, the three harvested plants are drying quietly, perfuming the whole floor. π

While the first three cut plants are drying (itβs been exactly one week, and everything is going well ; Iβll be able to trim them in about 5β7 days),
the last two are finishing their cycle.

In any case, it wonβt be alone : three small West Coast OG have joined the tent π
MIDWEEK
-----------
Itβs done, the 4th one has been cut; very beautiful plant, 68 cm, big colas and dense buds !
It will surpass the first three without a doubt.
Meanwhile, the 5th and last one is finishing its session; itβs even more massive, with stronger branches that carry more weight.
She will be my queen. π

One more week for the 5th plant. Sheβs really beautiful π
The one that was cut a few days ago is continuing to dry slowly in the shade and in a cool place, and the first three are ready to be weighed after 10 days of drying on the branch and 4 days of drying as buds on a drying rackβ¦
A very satisfying result!
Plant 1: 54 cm / 132 g
Plant 2: 58 cm / 106 g
Plant 3: 60 cm / 163 g
Thatβs already 400 g from 3 plants! π
The Triple Gs are very productive; Iβm going to give them at least 4 weeks of curing before tasting.
Seeing the last two, I should pass 700 g this time, which would be my record.
To be continued...
--- The first harvested plants have been curing for 10 weeks; in some jars, it smells strongly cheesy, while in others, itβs more citrusy! In both cases, it smells really good And after two joints, I can say this Triple G hits just as hard as expected, and the effect doesnβt fade for a solid two hoursβ¦ a nice high, followed by a more gradual, sedative effect; you donβt necessarily have to end up stuck on the couch!

Selkot Here we are, the end of this great Triple G session !
The 5th plant has been cut and hung to dry: itβs a monster π
68 cm tall, not very big, but with heavily loaded colas and really dense buds !
Except for speed, I think itβs going to beat all my previous records π
After 8 days drying on the branches and 4 days as buds on a drying net, I just weighed the 4th plant: 190 g dry and trimmed!
Iβve been growing for 8 years; breaking the 100 g per plant mark was already emotional (it was a beautiful day in October 2022, with a Northern Light from RQS), so getting close to, and probably soon exceeding 200 g today is a real pleasure!
Honestly, if I had said when I started that one day Iβd pull results like this with LEDs instead of HPS, autos instead of photoperiods, and coco instead of soil, people would have just taken me for a complete bullshitter! π
Iβll update this post in about two weeks with the final result, and 3-4 weeks later with the smoke review.
EDIT
-----
The last plant, my little monster, needed more time to dry: 12 days hanging on branches and 5 days as buds on a drying net.
But there was a reasonβ¦ dry weight: 241 grams!!! π
Itβs incredible, I weighed everything twice just to be sure π It almost beats all my records, except for height and speed! It even took a long time for an auto: 18 weeks, but what a pleasure!
My first harvested plants have been curing for 7 weeks; Iβm waiting another month before the smoke test.
I donβt regret giving Aptus a chance: I kept Voodoo from AN and the bud boosters from Plagron, but the Aptus all-in-one base with the regulator is killer!
Thanks for following my diary! π
@womar, Thanks π yellow/brown spots that develop anywhere on the fan leaves are typical of a calcium deficiency; additionally, some leaves are paling between the veins, which indicates a magnesium deficiency
@womar, Most brands recommend 1 ml per liter, but from the flowering stage onward, dont hesitate to increase to 1.5 ml, or even 2 ml if you see signs of deficiency ; itβs safe π
