Seah53 Let all the seeds germinate in a separate glass on the heater. After 2 days, I put them in Bio Bizz Light soil in a small pot on the heater. On day 5, the LA Kush Cake saw the light. The Orange Bud and Jamaican Pearl on day 6. Then all 3 went onto a heating mat at 25 degrees under the lamp. Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos.

Seah53 I repotted into 6-7.5 liter pots with custom soil made from peat, perlite, compost, and Plagron Grow mix. I also enriched it with various dry fertilizers, rock dust, and Bionova X Zamnesia Monster Bud Living Soil Mix.

Seah53 The ladies are thriving beautifully. The peat holds moisture very well, so you have to water much less than with ready-made substrate. There are still some tomato seeds that were probably in the compost. I also added some grass seeds to the soil to support a more homogeneous environment for the microorganisms.

Seah53 The ladies are growing well and look very healthy. However, the soil mix seems to be borderline too hot, which the Sativas like, but the LA Kush Cake shows some spots with yellow/brown burns (?). It doesn't seem to harm her, though. Today, I noticed a fresh scent for the first time. The girls are starting to make their presence known with a slight smell. I increased the light intensity from 50% to 60% using the dimmer. The first fungus gnats have hatched from the eggs in the compost. The yellow sticky traps are doing their best. The grass seeds have also germinated and have already been trimmed back. The cuttings are left on the soil. Day 5 Week 3. Transplanted into 16-liter fabric pots and activated the Spider Farmer SF600 to better illuminate the larger base area. Increased the proportion of pure grow soil in the custom mix during transplanting to better control moisture.

Seah53 A lot has happened in week 4 and there's still much more to come: Day 1 I defoliated for the first time and removed some leaves, as well as applied Fiming to encourage lateral growth. The LA Kush Cake handled the stress the best and is thriving beautifully. The Jamaican Pearl also looks good. I removed fewer leaves here because the side shoots are already growing past the sail leaves of the 3rd node. Overall, this plant is also the smallest at about 16cm. Once the leaves of the side shoots are bigger, those sail leaves will also be removed. The Orange Bud had a bit of unfortunate timing. Here, the sail leaves from 2 nodes had to be removed together, as the fingers of the leaves were so wide that all side shoots were completely covered. Despite the defoliation and Fiming, it has stretched 5 cm in two days. I believe it's lacking some energy now to compensate for the stress it received from defoliation and Fiming. However, I'm very optimistic that it will bounce back quickly. Furthermore, after the first few days in the double-digit temperature range, I was able to put some compost worms from the garden into the pots. A ladybug has also appeared from somewhere. Hopefully, it brings what folklore promises. Day 2 I set up and activated a Blumat drip system since I'm going on vacation for 3 weeks soon. I have 4 days left for observation and fine-tuning. Now it's off for 3 weeks of vacation. Starting week 8, I'll switch to flowering and post again.

Seah53 There has been a move to the basement. The drying period and the quick recovery have apparently driven the terpene production above all else. The smell had become too intense in the old room. The smell is better controlled in the basement with an exhaust fan that has been installed.

Seah53 Set the timer to 12/12. The growth has exploded, which is why I defoliated again 5 days later. Not the ideal timing, but the lower shoots were all covered by the upper leaves.

Seah53 This week, I defoliated again. The LA Kush Cake is developing a very nice play of colors along the leaf edges and veins, which are mostly turning purple. It now needs to be watered at least every two days, or else the soil gets too dry. I add Plagton Green Sensation, Power Buds, and Sugar Royal to the water. Additionally, there's BioBizz Algamic (or Greenbull Alganize) and Compo Mediterranean fertilizer in the irrigation water. Usually, I use a bit less than recommended since the substrate is working too. I've also tied the branches down a bit tighter. It's really amazing how the substrate seems to affect the flexibility of the branches. In conventional grow soil, I could never bend the branches this much due to the risk of breakage.

Seah53 It seems like the strongest stretch phase is over. Instead, the Orange Bud and Jamaican Pearl are developing even more side shoots. The purple touch on the LA Kush Cake is becoming more intense. The terps on the JP and LA KC are amazing! The Orange Bud probably still needs some time to develop them. However, it has grown the most, and you can't see any signs of the drought phase from weeks 7-8 anymore. I hung the lights lower to increase the light intensity. I'm measuring that with the Photone app and also keeping an eye on burnt leaf tips. It's working well.

Seah53 It's getting to the final stage for the LA Kush Cake and Jamaican Pearl. The nutrient amounts are being reduced now. Next week, they'll be flushed. Orange Bud has developed beautifully and has gotten an awesome terpene profile. However, it seems to need a bit longer. Here, I will increase the nutrient supply. On sunny days, the ladies spend 5-7 hours in the bright sun on the open south balcony. Otherwise, they stay under the LEDs. Leaf stripping is also ongoing, but only a few isolated leaves, nothing drastic anymore.

Seah53 The heating mat has been turned off because it's warm enough in the basement now. I dimmed the light intensity to 75% for the LA Kush Cake and Jamaican Pearl. Now, only water is being given. The Orange Bud will continue with the full nutrient program for another week, and a little wood ash will be mixed into the water just once. The Jamaican Pearl buds keep growing while the LA Kush Cake has stagnated in growth. Both already have a lot of dark hairs. The Orange Bud is also still growing, but the hairs are mostly still white.

Seah53 I started giving ice baths at the beginning of the week and putting the remaining ice cubes in the pot. The discolorations have become even stronger because of that. Orange Bud and Jamaican Pearl have gained even more purple highlights. Additionally, I administered a tiny amount of magnesium through the watering. The Orange Bud is now only getting water. The light intensity has been reduced and the lamps hung at 40cm, as the first amber trichomes are showing on all the ladies. The Jamaican Pearl now has a stinky, gassy smell of ripe tropical fruits. Honeydew melon stands out the most. It's also incredibly sticky. The Orange Bud has gained a lot of sweetness to the scent of lemons and oranges. It reminds me of ripe nectarines. This balance from the sour citrus notes to the sweet nectarine flavor is perfect, and I've never perceived it like this even with NL Coffeeshop weed. The LA Kush Cake has also developed a slightly fruitier note alongside the earthy Kush tones, vanilla, and mint. It really is a very unusual terpene profile. I find it hard to describe. Cake with candied fruits, light earthy and vanilla notes might be the closest. Harvesting will take place in the next few days.

Seah53 37.92 dry weight after 13 days of drying. Now they're going into jars with Boveda packs. First test was awesome. Very potent weed and really an extraordinarily good terpene profile with notes of citrus, candy, and cake. None of it is dominant, but it smells very balanced. Simply delicious.

The flavor profile is simply amazing, a bit citrusy, and very strong impressions of a tropical fruit cocktail. Even though it still needs to mature in jars, it’s already very pleasant to smoke.
