First week started off slow. Compared to my last run with autos these girls seem a little behind. By the time I put them into soil one of the sprouts still had not popped her head up but I went ahead and transplanted her. She ended up popping her head out just a little bit late.

So far everything looks to be coming along nicely. Just using pH balanced watered at this point. I have the one that popped late that looks to be about 3 days or so behind the rest but I bet she catches up in no time. Thanks for looking! Edit - At 16 days from seed, 4 of the 5 are growing in their first set of 5 leafers and they are already branching so good

21 days from seed marks the beginning of our 3rd week of veg. I started feeding this week with a decent dose and they have loved it. They still seem to be branching wonderfully. Edit: at 22 days from seed I removed 2 fan leaves that were covering branches from 2 of the larger plants. Edit: for day 25 from seed I have mixed a little stronger concoction of nutrients. I went ahead and upped the Grow big to 2 tsp to a gal, everything else the same, which brought the ppm up to about 1790 ppm. Edit: 26 days from seed, the front two have loved the defoliation so I have began defoliating the larger two on the back left. The front 2 have amazing, crown like structures. Thanks for looking!

Just started the week with a dry day to get ready for a nice feed tomorrow. This week I am continuing on with the moderate dose of nutrients, they seem to love it. I have been contemplating scrogging them for support but it would limit my mobility of the plants. Any suggestions? Edit: Day 29 from seed I went ahead and threw mu scrog net on the girls this morning after some defoliation and rearranging of the tent. It definitely opened the girls up and is providing support which was my main reason for the net. Thanks for looking!

Does anyone have experience with scrogging autoflowers? I'm curious if they respond well to the netting, or if there were any other successful ways of supporting the plants that would allow more mobility for turning and such. Thanks All!

Hey Wandering Sage, it's mostly a question of genetics actually here s a fes things though : 1) purple genetics dont respond well to genetics as a general principle , but some do like the blackberry. 2) LST should be done as early as possible to give the plant time to veg out. In your case with the zkittles auto, it's a short bushy plant so intuition would have it that it wont respond particulary well to the LST required, especially at this stage. Anyway hope this helps ! 🚀

The girls really seem to like the support of the net and all the light to their lower branches. They're also showing preflowers pretty good now. This week I'm going to start transitioning them into bloom nutes and add my two 90W red bloom booster lights. Pretty excited to see these girls in full bloom. Edit Day 36: added my two red 90W bloom boosters today and watered them at a liter a piece. Tomorrow is a dry day and then I start feeding the transition blend of nutrients. Edit Day 38: started transitioning to bloom nutrients adding tiger bloom for the first time today. Fed them at 2570 ppm and they loved it. Edit day 39: started giving them a liter a piece when I water because the last couple of days they have seemed a little dry. Edit day 40: still dry soiled and droopy, giving the girls 1.5 liters a piece and they have responded well. Thanks for looking. Let me know if you have any questions.

This is the final transition week as far as nutrients go, next week I will be feeding only bloom nutrients as I taper off nitrogen. I had some issues with under watering last week, so I had to up my water schedule to 1.5 liters a days per plant. Edit day 46: Fully transitioned to bloom nutrients only. My mix was 4tsp Tiger Bloom, 30ml of Terpinator, 30 ml of Big bloom. It came out to about 2650 ppm. Edit day 48: went to water this morning and all the plants topsoil was still pretty moist except for the big girl on the right, she was dry as a bone, so I went ahead and watered her until I got some good runoff and she took 3.5 liters before running off just a little bit. What a drinker she is!! Thanks for looking!

Started this week by leaving the plants for a river vacation and came back to them being 6 inches taller. These Zkittlez definitely impress me with their size and the amount of bud they're packing on. Transitioning fully off of nitrogen this week. Edit day 53: Fed the girls with their last little bit of N and a heavy dose of P and K. Next feed will be only P and K until I begin flushing. The back 2 that were lagging behing have finally begun to flower good and they have shot up just as tall as my big girl up front. It's looking like I will have a few beasty plants this go around! Thanks for looking!

Started this week with a watering, getting nutrients ready for a good feed tomorrow. Really impressed with the size of these Zkittlez Og, the late blooming girl in the back middle has shot up to 36 inches in height and is filling in with pistils. Excited for the next 2 weeks to really watch them swell up. Edit day 58: Just wow! I am amazed at the stretch of the girl in the back middle. Woke up to her 2inches from the light so I had to move it up. All the girls are flowering very nicely and during some light defoliation I found out they were very sticky and very full of trichomes. Edit day 62 - going on a trip so I gave the girls a fat dose of nutrients, 3tsp Tiger bloom, 6tsp FloraBloom, 6tsp Terpinator. Came out to about 3150 ppm. They loved it! Tomorrow I'm going to super saturate the soil and then they'll be all alone for 4 days! Thanks for looking!

Fed them a fat dose of nutrients on the 62nd day and then on the 64th soaked them really good cause I'm going out of town for 4 or 5 days for holiday in the mountains. Guess they'll kinda get a vacation from me too lol. Edit 67 days - just returned from Holiday in the mountains and the girls dont look too bad. Had some serious phosphorus deficiency when I got back so I hit them with a ton of PK. They loved it and have perked up since the feeding. Thanks for looking!

Fed just one last time and getting ready to flush this week and maybe harvest next week or two. Edit day 73 - started flushing yesterday at 145 ppm and 6.2 pH, getting ready to harvest the front three this coming weekend. Going to have to push the back two another week or so and I'll probably feed the back two at least once more. Every time I walk in the house the girls just reek of sweet candy OG funk, I'm hoping for a tremendous yield of this strain. Edit day 76 - continuing to flush at 6.2 pH and 150 ppm. 2liters a day to the smaller 3 and 4liters a day to the larger two girls. Thanks for looking!

Had to move three of the girls I didn't harvest. It wasn't pretty, they don't near as much support as they did but they don't care, they're starting to get nice dense nugs on the branches. These plants exhibit mostly sativa dominant physical characteristics for sure. Fed again at 2550 ppm, may start flushing after that feed. Looking to try and harvest these girls in a week maybe two. 86 days from seed - harvested the third plant, which is also the smallest plant. She weighed out to 207 grams wet. So far my total wet weight is 1292 grams. 87 days from seed - after hang drying for 8 days I went ahead and got the first two plants in jars. So far dry weight is 208.11 grams off of two plants. Edit day 89 - just flushing at this point. 150ppm @ 6.2pH Thanks for looking!

Edit day 96 - last girl in the tent comes down this evening. Stay tuned for the harvest, the final weight on these girls is going to be crazy! Thanks for looking!

Zkittlez Og auto by Barney's farm is definitely a strain to write home about. This is a strain that I would reserve for relaxing and unwinding, very chill but not quite couch lockey. Grows tall and bushy with some net support and LST.

Just a fantastic strain to grow, very vigorous from start to finish. I am very excited about my harvest, averaging almost 110g per plant and had 1 plant coming in at 196.91g!!! Thanks for the great genetics Barney's farm, I look forward to growing more of their genetics. I'll upload more photos of the larger buds later Thanks for looking!

Very nice grow. Barney’s zkittlez Genetics stretch a lot so plants like this will respond well to LST. But any plants will respond well to LST as long as you have good pH, growing medium with the right nutes, temperature, and humidity. Autos can be tricky. You need to estimate when they’re going to flower so you need to guesstimate on when you will top and have them recover well. Most I’d recommend is topping once and then LST right after. For autos, I usually top within about 2-3 weeks.

Wandering_Sage666commented6 years ago
@MaryJaneUSA, Thank you very much! I'm pretty proud of them. If you notice in the photos I was attempting to LST early on but they shot up on me over a day or two to the point where I couldn't bend them down any more without damage to the stems. I also began to run out of tent space to pull them over into, they were growing all through each other hahaha. Oh well, next time I'm growing some photoperiods and I'm going to do some mainlining and I'm only putting 3 in a space this size.

MaryJaneUSAcommented6 years ago
@Wandering_Sage666, no problem! But they look really really good. When I was a new grower, I was always looking for a tall grow tent because I didn’t know how to LST. If you get good at it, vertical space isn’t a problem!

@Cannibalgardens, well so far, based on the first two that I have harvested and put into jars, this plant exhibits sativa dominant features. The buds on the big plant were nicer and less airy. The last 2 plants seem to be taller, but their bud density it much more spongy. I expect the last 2 plants to have better flowers that will yield more.

I wondered if just adding the net above them and letting them grow into the net for support would be alright, or if I should just used bamboo or other wood rods pushed into the soil. Thanks for the help!
CRiSPrGrow
CRiSPrGrowcommented6 years ago
@Wandering_Sage666, bamboo is better imo, both is fine too, it's up to you really, but bending the stems now seems dangerous, remember though : you're the only one in the grow room so it's up to you at the end of the day
Wandering_Sage666
Wandering_Sage666commentedweek 66 years ago
It is 4ftx4ft or around 1.5 square meters. Thanks so much! Only my second grow with autoflowers and I decided to try something new with the LST and heavier defoliation. I really want to increase my yield.
Wandering_Sage666
Wandering_Sage666commentedweek 46 years ago
Yeah I'm not looking to train really, just something to tie to for support. The reason I feel like I need support is cause the lower branches seem to be low and a like the hang cause they're heavy. I was thinking supporting the branches by tying them to a piece of bamboo might take some stress off the roots. Idk, what are your opinions on using bamboo for support and not training? Is it really necessary or should I let it grow to support it self?
the end.
