Just started the week with a dry day to get ready for a nice feed tomorrow. This week I am continuing on with the moderate dose of nutrients, they seem to love it. I have been contemplating scrogging them for support but it would limit my mobility of the plants. Any suggestions? Edit: Day 29 from seed I went ahead and threw mu scrog net on the girls this morning after some defoliation and rearranging of the tent. It definitely opened the girls up and is providing support which was my main reason for the net. Thanks for looking!

Grow Questions

Does anyone have experience with scrogging autoflowers? I'm curious if they respond well to the netting, or if there were any other successful ways of supporting the plants that would allow more mobility for turning and such. Thanks All!

Hey Wandering Sage, it's mostly a question of genetics actually here s a fes things though : 1) purple genetics dont respond well to genetics as a general principle , but some do like the blackberry. 2) LST should be done as early as possible to give the plant time to veg out. In your case with the zkittles auto, it's a short bushy plant so intuition would have it that it wont respond particulary well to the LST required, especially at this stage. Anyway hope this helps ! 🚀

Very nice grow. Barney’s zkittlez Genetics stretch a lot so plants like this will respond well to LST. But any plants will respond well to LST as long as you have good pH, growing medium with the right nutes, temperature, and humidity. Autos can be tricky. You need to estimate when they’re going to flower so you need to guesstimate on when you will top and have them recover well. Most I’d recommend is topping once and then LST right after. For autos, I usually top within about 2-3 weeks.

@MaryJaneUSA, Thank you very much! I'm pretty proud of them. If you notice in the photos I was attempting to LST early on but they shot up on me over a day or two to the point where I couldn't bend them down any more without damage to the stems. I also began to run out of tent space to pull them over into, they were growing all through each other hahaha. Oh well, next time I'm growing some photoperiods and I'm going to do some mainlining and I'm only putting 3 in a space this size.

@Wandering_Sage666, no problem! But they look really really good. When I was a new grower, I was always looking for a tall grow tent because I didn’t know how to LST. If you get good at it, vertical space isn’t a problem!

@MaryJaneUSA, Thanks for the advice! Good to know for the next grow.

@Wandering_Sage666,good to be able too compare phenotypes like that.

@Cannibalgardens, well so far, based on the first two that I have harvested and put into jars, this plant exhibits sativa dominant features. The buds on the big plant were nicer and less airy. The last 2 plants seem to be taller, but their bud density it much more spongy. I expect the last 2 plants to have better flowers that will yield more.

@Ashbash, thank you! Some of these buds are as hard and dense as little rocks and they have a great stone, not to mention the flavor.

Wow, biggest single colas I 've ever seen.😲 Amazing job my friend. Well done👍
Wandering_Sage666
Wandering_Sage666commented5 years ago
@smoking_hills9, they are pretty big colas, most longer than my arm. I'm really excited about harvesting the last 2 plants, their buds seem like they'll be much denser.

Meh, as I said before- check out wizard npks you tube for bamboo training..cannabis is probably the most resiliant in its class, just use caution and duct tape;)

hi just wondering in which order you used your terpinator i.e terp-calmag-micro -bloom etc which order did you mix your nutes... by the way beautiful grow
Wandering_Sage666
Wandering_Sage666commented5 years ago
@the_Dankster, I don't mix them in any particular order honestly. Probably in different order each time. Thanks for looking, the smoke is phenomenal.

Looks incredible. I'm not sure I've seen better auto grows.

I wondered if just adding the net above them and letting them grow into the net for support would be alright, or if I should just used bamboo or other wood rods pushed into the soil. Thanks for the help!
CRiSPrGrow
CRiSPrGrowcommented6 years ago
@Wandering_Sage666, bamboo is better imo, both is fine too, it's up to you really, but bending the stems now seems dangerous, remember though : you're the only one in the grow room so it's up to you at the end of the day
Wandering_Sage666
Wandering_Sage666commentedweek 65 years ago
It is 4ftx4ft or around 1.5 square meters. Thanks so much! Only my second grow with autoflowers and I decided to try something new with the LST and heavier defoliation. I really want to increase my yield.
Wandering_Sage666
Wandering_Sage666commentedweek 46 years ago
Yeah I'm not looking to train really, just something to tie to for support. The reason I feel like I need support is cause the lower branches seem to be low and a like the hang cause they're heavy. I was thinking supporting the branches by tying them to a piece of bamboo might take some stress off the roots. Idk, what are your opinions on using bamboo for support and not training? Is it really necessary or should I let it grow to support it self?
