So it was time for some Chem OG's from female seeds, this is the first seed company that sends you enough seeds when you buy them, so thanks for that and thanks to GD for the opportunity to win these seeds ! All seeds were activated in plain water with a few drops of kelp extract in it. All cracked inside a few hours in the first day, placed in the propagator for a few more days before being transplanted to the 7L pot for most of their veg. The idea is a perpetual rotation, so i might look for some phenos - any help is appreciated ! Anyways, prepared the soil according to the biotabs instructions, went nicely , getting used to it by now, basically step one is mixing some powdered bacteria and fungus into the soil, you make a hole, add some more powder, and your root plug, water with some mixture, then it's plain water through and through more or less, follow along and i'll show you, but basically i'm just following instructions. Watering 200ml up to three times a day by hand, added a few drops of smart protein diluted in the water. Glad you're taking the time to follow along, do reach out and shoot the shit if you like , first week almost done, let's see ! 🚀
Ran out of Smart protein end of the first week, so it's plain water from here on out ! C99 chugging along, you can tell that any sort of exposure to the smart protein has lasting effects and the effects are proportional to the amount of smart protein available... it's not a nutrient so no nute burn no lock out ! witness the next generation of plant science ! witness it !! 🚀
Well aren't these doing just fine, they already put out fan fan leaves, took off just a few on each that were covering potential flower nodes, hope i didn't f-up and pluck a future cola or something. these were showing early signs of deficiency last week so i added some bactrex orgatrex and boom boom spray according to the label, it's so easy ! Just jostling with god + the weather now it's a scortcher ! how are you keeping the temps down? how many times are we gonna have to give each other tips this NH summer? Smart proteins incoming just in time for flower probably after next week ! 🚀
I'm really digging the Chem OG, squat plants with those trademark thick thick thick indica leaves, clearly it's gonna be a heavy smoke lol Wasnt able to get the juices flowing this week, hopefully next week i'll get the smart protein into feed. Started training some of these, did two more defoliations (total of three light defos so far) ... and then flipped them 4 days ago. the f-ing landlord has been attempting to enter the lab according to my security cameras lol, motherfucker !!!! anyway i have to pack up the lab, hopefully i'll be able to complete the grow cycle , but for sure i'll have to move the grow op ... that's my problem, sure but it also means that i'll have to wait in order to set up my perpetual cycle... and of course i cant really take cuttings if i'm moving the lab... why must people be so curious? really wish there would be at least a bit more tolerance around this hobby just so i can sleep peacefully at night... in the mean time , I lowered my lights to 22cm, i heard from someone (forgot who) that it's a good thing to get the lights closer when you flip so that the plant gets that extra energy for the stretch. I'll let know how that works out ! Any comments or suggestions are welcome , veg is over so it's gonna get interesting - drop me a message if you want ! that's it 🚀
Do you think her leafs are getting fatter? how thick are they though, seriously ?? so thick ! that's that 100% indica i guess, really striking to see her asleep with those fat leafs isnt it? tried out the obscurity to try and get some nice in, hope you find them nice ! i really like that dramatic effect with the lighting and the shadow but to be honest i'm not the most talented photographer so i dont really know if it's working for you or not, so let me know ! she's growing as expected basically, squat, short, thick, doesnt really need that much attention, so far these genetics are an absolute pleasure to grow ! Raised the lights to the normal height, reduced the light schedule to 13/11, fed with some biocanna i had on hand, added some specialized flower micro : that's mag sulfur and cal mag , hopefully this will make the end product more pungent and more potent. let's see some flowers amirite?
Reduced the smart proteins by half to one ml every few feeds, got some burn from the spray, this substance is wierd ! Chem OG is a hefty indica and really took it in her stride, not phased at all and finally it's starting to get interesting with all the flowers coming out. Anyways, i'm just trying to commune with the plants and avoid overwatering, I guess yall wont be surprised if I say i'm really looking forward to toking on some of this ! 🚀
Fucking chem og how resilient is she, for sure, she's a fighter, came back as determined as ever to pack it in some more, she didnt mind the dark, was a bit scared about the mold, so far no signs of it so let's all make a prayer for chem og, hope the taste is what i enjoy kinda fun flying blind ... but even a blind person would notice what an indica this is 😅 last week of smart proteins no nutrients added yet, just plain water and one point four bricks of shitting in my pants what a shake down my leg ! I'm smoking Dr. Grinspoon rn, and i've listened all i can to cypress hill's dr. green thumb and they say
"I never grow at my home" but what they dont say is all about the rest of it lol abricots? peaches ? 🚀
dropped her down to 10/14 so she's got plenty of time for resin production now she's a stinker smells like citrus and indica, or more like indica citrus, does that make sense ? 👊
these came down at 10 weeks and 4 days 509 wet after a wet trim expecting close to 300 finally let's see 🚀 all in all pretty stoked to try that chem ! trying on paper bags then it's jars, check back in later 😱 😱 😱 😱
Chem OG was a really typical full indica plant from the start. Sprouted strong came out real quick got its smart proteins at the start and grew pretty darn quick. Only got three weeks of veg in, took training really well, then started smelling really citussy like indicas do with that depth of smell idk if that makes sense. Put out it's flower in the christmas tress way plenty of side shoots even though i didnt do much training. Smelled like lemons and gasoline at some point. Harvest came much quicker than i thought bottom of week 11 incredible effort by the Chem OG, harvested at 30%. Smoke is really potent but a bit harsh, if i had known to expect 11 weeks of growing i would have started my flush sooner or moved to additives but hey, it's there but nothing a bit more curing wont get rid of, plus there's the extract to look forward to : look out for those diaries my friends, it's gonna be fun getting some tubes out. Bag appeal is meh, should have probably protected it a bit better during the drying but what to do, nice and dark, browns really prominent, no one's gonna ever have to decide if they buy some or not so it's fine. Taste is really out there though, indica indica indica citrus woody flavors (which i've grown to like since the six shooter ) and thich potent smoke. Nugs are crazy dense , i actually wish someone would touch it but i never share my weed lol maybe someone will puff one out one day in the grinder and i'll update with their reaction. What can i say check the stats you tell me how dense it came out ! 🚀
Chem OG is my first chem and i'm not disappointed at all, would have loved more yield but i vegged her for like 3 weeks so what do you want to do with that, in the end she took 11 full weeks to yield more than a zip dry and cured from each plant so who's got two thumbs and is not complaining. Looking forward to see how they do in the extractors, and tips welcome as always. Hope that you enjoy the vid, if you're in France once day, dont forget to bring some homegrown let's get high folks ! 🚀
Love testing out genetics thank you so much , next round incoming ! 🚀
So this grow clearly a very neat grow, kept right on top of things with VPD, always in the optimal ranges even if i had to manually tinker with the mister , the exhaust, the fans, the lights.
Speaking of the lights i applied a "pumping technique" meaning moving the lights up a down : down going into flower, then up then down again towards the end of flower to trigger rippening.
The smart proteins were used through out the grow meaning the veg went nuts, started smelling loud right out of seedling stage, then at flower stretch i think it does help give it a kick, mid flower though it makes the trichomes rippen quicker than the plant can put on biomass, meaning you get strong , ripe colas that come out a bit thin.
Cut and harvested at 30% amber believe it or not, to me that's late but i couldnt believe it when i noticed the plant was ripe at 10 weeks so i let it go on a bit longer.
wet trimmed and dried over 10 days, Jarred and cured for 2 months.
@Philindicus, well, we do know what is in our fertilisers : it's mostly refuse from water treatment plants, the liquid ferts are just the dry mass diluted (i'm simplifying here) ... but overall you could say you're re-using distilled refuse water - i wouldnt drink it 😉
@CRiSPrGrow, Curious about this Smart Protein is this a product that one can buy or is this one of your own recipes? I see you've been tweaking your own formulas for a while. Thinking I might have to start doing something too. Who knows whats really in these nute formulas in terms of quality and quantity most companies seem to act like they have some top secret formulas.
@AstroBoy, i agree, they work great aswell, got the info from SBG above, but man, they are HEAVY, i have six only using 2 BECAUSE MY CEILING CANT HANDLE THE WEIGHT ! fffffffff....
@Silverback_Guerilla, so far so good ! these probably dont have two weeks in them 😅 it's always like that, i have all this stuff on hand i just dont use it that much time kinda flies by
@CRiSPrGrow, lifting the pots is more for new growers with just a few plants. When you start to grow big scale, where some plants can't be reached, it's all about the leaves and you . Keeping an eye on your leaves is the easiest way to see if something is going wrong with a plant . After a while you get used to the "first symptoms" and can diagnose a problem before it gets too late ! 😉
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, ah thanks for this info man, i'm not surprised at how wrong i was , great tips will be a bit careful on the overwatering... damn man, it's a lot of work lifting these bitches three times a night
@CRiSPrGrow, At some point I will give coco a try when I'm done with my nutes. Roots organic original is mostly coco and perlite so I'm practically there. I'm pretty happy with the quality of my buds right now. I am tweaking my setup soon and would like to work on increasing the size and weight without losing the quality of the buds. Coco may do that for me we will see. The things we will do in search of the ever elusive perfect grow.
@Philindicus, i wouldnt break my balls travelling 100s of miles for peat moss bro (that's all light mix is) especially since peat moss is unsustainable and you get better results with coco for like 3 dollars a grow... my humble opinion is all!
@CRiSPrGrow,
Really?? Gonna go back to fighting the heat?? Wow.
You did end up with a few skinny colas, but dude..you prolly had to kill a dozen of them more than 2 weeks too early...and, if you hadn't had to kill them early, the fact that you are dosing every plant with 2.0+ uMols from edge to edge means that even with slightly smaller colas, pretty sure your yield would have been greater than 1800w of HID at 2-3 feet above the canopy.
You could also supplement with CO2 and lower your LED lights to within 30cm (2.7 uMol) and see massive gains in both density and size...and not have to deal with the HEAT👹
As you know, with even just a little airflow, the surface temperature of the bars is minimal..prolly get the flowers safely within 15cm if supplementing CO2.
I typically supplement with a lot of blue light in early veg so as to cause shorter, more branchy plants because I don't like to have to raise my lights to the ceiling (of the tent), but I'm betting your nutrient regimen and combination of distance and dim-factor of the lights caused the shorter branching plants. I like it that way because some varieties really stretch in flower and it's best to keep them shorter in the beginning...at least until I can grow in a room with 15' cathedral ceilings and shutterable skylights on both sides.😁
@LawAbidingCitizen420, it's not just about LUX it's also about PAR and average spectrum , believe me you dont have the time @silverback_guerilla sent me a link to a cool and really good value pro light from china which does look great. i'm going back to HID though, cant really get the biomass you need with a pure LED set up. go with three 600W two with sodium one with metal halide and dont forget a dimmable balast and a huge ass fan !
Brah, I tripped out when I zoomed in on your profile pic.. Thought you had hair bud & possible Morgan Freeman in the mix
Random comment but yeah, think about it.
@CRiSPrGrow, have a geez at what I ended up with on the hydro grow. You helped me out once on my diary. Cheers coz even without drying this baby n smoking leaf. Well.. cloud nine
@CRiSPrGrow, lol! Ur welcome to a sampling if u pm me an address. Although you should know that I’m about a continent’s width away from Cali... and also in a different country... Ontario Canada bud! Lol
Was loving every single bit about your diarys.......... Untill 😯😯 I seen the United top 🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐 blueboys all the way 😂😂. Yo only joking bro think I'm missing the match abit to much atm lol hope your staying safe bro. You from manny?
@CRiSPrGrow, french 👍 nout wrong with the French at all.. And your crops are gangster bro smashing it... Have u ever fked with supreme breed bank jungle boys seeds. I'm looking at getting some but wanna few peoples say 1st b4 I spend 250 on the seeds
@@Aiiogrow, threw em into their 7Ls growmie, god bless 🙏 great question forgot to add that part about the transplant, will make a note of it for next diary though 🚀
